Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 1 has concluded, so its time to review the entire season.

It's getting late here, but as a card-carrying David Tennant fan I am beyond amused and thrilled to see all of the Huyang merch available for Ahsoka (which just premiered its first 2 episodes on August 22nd).

it's so hard to put my finger on why the ahsoka vs andor discourse sounds so juvenile. But i think the folks saying "not everything can be serious and political, we like lightsabers and fun battles too!!!!" completely fail to realise that's not what the andor fans are taking issue with......

Like we want light-hearted easygoing star wars with jedi and spaceships. the issue isn't tone or content, it's EXECUTION. what's not clicking. andor wasn't good because it was a serious, more realistic portrayal of the rebellion's infancy, it was good because the people making it were skilled and passionate about their work. People don't like it just because it was different to what we had before (although it was refreshing), people like it because it had a tight script, consistent tone, interesting themes and ideas and a wildly talented cast. and everything I've seen from ahsoka looks like nothing more than a hollow cash grab like every other thing disney has made in recent times. It's okay to demand quality from your silly escapist shows i promise

One thing I’m curious to see in the Ahsoka series is how they treat the more adult themes in Rebels that were glossed over for the sake of keeping it kid-friendly. Rebels had some brutal and highly emotional scenes for sure, but there were certain aspects of the characters’ lives that were hinted at but couldn’t be fully explored. Things like Ezra’s time on the streets, the darker realities of war (like the stuff they showed in Andor), the massacre of the Lasats by the Empire…

I wonder if the Rebels characters will talk about these experiences from their pasts with more detail in the Ahsoka series, or if they’ll keep it all in the lighter perspective that Rebels portrayed it with.

Got myself thinking about Ezra thanks to that art I did and. It is just so funny to me that s1 Ezra is peak Disaster Lineage in demeanor and Sabine is fairly Shatterpoint Lineage in demeanor but that all gets flipped around in the Ahsoka show. Sabine is now embodying the rest of her lineage's chaos and Ezra is just as serene (part of the time) as his master and grandmasters in Shatterpoint. That's funny.

I was simply watching this week’s Ahsoka episode, when what do my eyes see? But my perfect baby boy, ANAKIN FREAKIN’ SKYWALKER, back to finally have that heart-to-heart with his padawan that we are ALL owed

I’ve seen ep3 of Ahsoka and…y’all…

What is up with Jacen’s design?? First off, wasn’t he like 5 at the end of Rebels?? If about 10yrs have passed since then, shouldn’t he be around 15? He seemed a little young.

Now…I did hear about the Lego toy’s retconning of Jacen’s look in Rebels and was really upset when I saw it was just a regular lego dude who honestly could’ve passed for Han Solo. However, I also disliked Rebels’ version as well but at least in Rebels’ version we get to see parts of green skin and pointy ears that show he is biracial. His horrible green hair is so long in Ahsoka that it covers his ears, probably to cut costs. Also when he talks with his mother about wanting to be a Jedi, we have no idea why he wants that since he nor Hera make ANY mention of Kanan. Speaking of, the show feels eerily quiet about Kanan.

I think it’d be more compelling for Jacen to be a 14-15yr old, similar to Ezra in the beginning of Rebels, and want to be a Jedi from hearing stories about Kanan and Ezra. And of course having a more even divide of features between Hera and Kanan. I was so excited to see Jacen until I got a good look at him.

Edit: so my problem with the age thing was that I was thinking of Rebels as one long time and not as the seasons being a year each + an epilogue.

I don’t have a problem with Jacen being 10-11, but I just think it’d be more compelling to have Jacen be around Ezra’s age. But he is cute and I hope we get to see some of Hera’s fears in regards to Jacen wanting to be a Jedi and I really hope we find out how much Jacen knows about Kanan and Ezra.
