It's been 50 years but I've changed the theme on my blog... despite knowing that zero people go on it nowadays but I GO ON IT!!!!!! also with tumblr rolling out the whole npf editor all the photos that are being posted now will inevitably all become text post embedded so I had to find a theme specifically combating that. I really loved my previous theme that had a whole ghibli forest aura about it but good things never last... at least photos show up properly now 🫠

my parents are selling their house and i'm dealing with it so rationally and maturely btw. the 73 pictures i just took are completely unrelated to my fears of change and forgetting the little bits of memory that made this home

mayday, mayday!

#in no way do I think tumblr is going down anytime soon #but i’ve realized I’ve always had an naive sort of idea that tumblr would be a constant in my life and forever evolve as I grow #it is just that intertwined with the way i use the internet. i have been here nearly every day since a month after i turned twelve #like i hope this isn’t pathetic to admit but this place was and is a cornerstone of my adolescence #tumblr is my word of mouth. it is my fandom home base. it is my diary sometimes #and it’s not that I can’t learn to use another platform. it’s that the continuity is important to me #my blog is a stream of every love and passion and obsession of my entire teenage hood and as of now the beginning of my adulthood #the thought of having to move somewhere new and break off from this massive and fundamental chunk of my life is hugely upsetting #not to mention my mutuals! and everyone I follow! it’s impossible to round everyone up again if. god forbid. we all have to leave here #and of course blah blah blah everything in life is temporary learn to accept change yada yada #but it’s been part of me long enough where i have a hard time picturing how i could even go about leaving this behind #anyway. nothing bad is happening yet. will zero finally go back to school... stay tuned and find out

#not to keep using this blog as a diary but ANYWAYS #so got confirmation i'm basically in the middle exit phase so my last day will probably be in mid-december #which is actually really good timing all things considered #so i can either plan to get a new job at the beginning of the new year OR think about going back to school #starting during spring is kind of awkward so unless I find a really good situation i'd probably go for fall of 2024 #tuition is obviously something i have to think hard about since i'm also balancing a mortgage... but the benefit of me doing nothing but #work my ass off for the last 4 years is that i do have the money saved. like unless i go to a super prestigious school i can most likely #afford it on my own. ofc the question is am i willing to spend it all for a degree that might not even be of any benefit to me. who knows #i also don't even know what i'd go back for. it wouldn't be pure CS but probably something adjacent or bio-related #another reason I want to go back to school is honestly for social reasons. networking and finding new friends #i'm not the most outgoing person but in an academic environment i was infinitely better at socializing than I am now lmao #and sharing classes with folks will definitely help. i'd definitely pick up TAing again as well if possible #i also talked with my manager a bit about this and he was also like yeah at your age and situation now is actually a really good time #anyways. we shall see #0.txt
