Yesterday, here on tumblr, someone reached out to me, seeking help. And now I am here seeking yours. I don't care about your opinions and views. The matter of the fact is that everyone deserves to be treated as human beings, and they deserve the rights of human beings as we all do.
Right now, we have a violation of the LGBTQ+ community in Uganda after its government passed one of the harshest anti-gay laws, which includes punishment by death.
Here are two Al Jazeera articles on this:
1. Displaced twice: Gay Ugandans on the run face upheaval in Kenya
2. Ugandas anti lgbtq law causing wave of rights abuses activists say
Yesterday, @annoyingpaintertragedy (please take a look at their blog) reached out to me regarding this. They mentioned that many of Ugandas lgbtq civilians were forced to flee Uganda to neighboring Kenya. But situations are just as bad in Kenya. They spoke of the Kakuma refugee camps where they now live along with many other refugees.
I myself am just now learning of this. But if you have any information or links of organizations that may help regarding this situation, please send them to me or add them to the reblogs.

Members of the African Union
During the inaugural session of the two-day G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the African Union (AU) had been granted permanent membership in the Group of 20 largest economies (G20) worldwide. As reported by PTI, this announcement marked the AU's accession as a new member of this prominent global organization, consisting of 55 nations. Shortly after the announcement, Union of Comoros President and AU chairperson Azali Assoumani took the seat as a full member of the G20.

But by the 2023 summit, opposition to Israel's membership had grown fiercer and a motion was submitted by Algeria to permanently revoke Israel's membership.
While the debate on Israel's status went on, this infamous incident took place. Israel's African Union envoy, Sharon Bar-li, was told she was being kicked out of the summit, and ended up being escorted off the premises by African Union security.

Up in this miserable corner of Europe, we're desperately trying to get our country to back South Africa's submission but our leaders are either being heavily blackmailed or are Zionists themselves, they won't fucking listen to us despite the fact Ireland has made up 4% of all global demonstrations even tho we're about 1% of the global population. Ireland wants to help, we are being stomped on, but we will keep trying.

I hope all of you know, you are special. You are necessary.
Life is weird. It seems unceasingly cruel some days. Yesterday I saw the bodies of the humanitarian aid workers who had been killed by IDF strikes in Gaza.
What is being done there is nothing short of a genocide. To think a man like Bibi, with his heritage would use it to oppress and destroy others is unthinkable.
The crushed and mangled bodies of beautiful, proud Palestinian families left trampled by a regime hellbent on annihilation is terrifying. They deserve better. No people should face crimes like this.
In Congo, small children, barely able to walk are sent to work in the mines for our comfort. Are they not beautiful and special as well? Do their lives not have meaning? Are they not allowed to know life outside of slavery? Because that's what they are in.
The Continent, glorious, resplendent, rich with resources, but more importantly, peoples and cultures who deserve to thrive. Yet for CENTURIES now, the peoples, cultures, and resources have been plundered to run the world without given so much as a dime to the betterment and growth of the many nations of The Grand Continent.
Colonizers believe and would have everyone else believe the peoples are backward and in need of saving, when history tells us life began, expanded, and was able to be cultivated because of practices from the peoples of The Continent, the Middle East, and the Far & Near East. Islanders and more. The world is as advanced as it is, not because of colonizing, desperate, thieving despots and imperialism, but because of the minds and hearts of the Global South Majority.
You all are precious. Each of the people in these places, Sudan, Haiti, and Pakistan is worthy. My prayers at this time are especially with Taiwan after the earthquake today and Japan as the shores of both countries are receding and it seems tsunamis are imminent.
Please remember, in the midst of all of this, the vastness and greatness, the terrible and the terrific, you matter. Yes, little you means something big to the world around you. Even if no one else told you or made you feel special or like you matter. Even if someone has worked hard to convince you of the opposite, they are liars.
YOU ARE IMPORTANT AND YOU MATTER, simply because you are. We are a community of humanity, separated by distance and boundaries but bound together in the spirits of community and care.
It is overwhelming to see all this and feel insufficient. But let us learn and tell and share the stories. Let us see the humanity and worthiness of our fellow friends. Let us not let others turn away easily and forget.
We see each other. I love you.

The parties in the conflict in Ethiopia’s northern region of Tigray agreed on a “permanent cessation of hostilities,” the African Union mediator said, [in November 2022,] just more than a week after formal peace talks began in South Africa.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, in the first briefing on the peace talks on Wednesday, said Ethiopia’s government and Tigrayan authorities have agreed on “orderly, smooth and coordinated disarmament” along with “restoration of law and order,” “restoration of services” and “unhindered access to humanitarian supplies.”
The agreement marked a new “dawn” for Ethiopia, he said, speaking at a news conference.
The war, which broke out in November 2020, has pitted regional forces from Tigray against Ethiopia’s federal army and its allies, which include forces from other regions and from neighbouring Eritrea.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed hailed Wednesday’s breakthrough deal and committed to working towards the agreement.
“The commitment to peace remains steadfast. And our commitment to collaborating for the implementation of the agreement is equally strong,” he said in a statement.
Tigray’s rebels hailed the deal and said they had made concessions.
“We are ready to implement and expedite this agreement,” said the head of their delegation, Getachew Reda.
“In order to address the pains of our people, we have made concessions because we have to build trust.
“Ultimately, the fact that we have reached a point where we have now signed an agreement speaks volumes about the readiness on the part of the two sides to lay the past behind them to chart a new path of peace,” said Reda.”

Update: 1/25/23
Nearly three months after it was signed, the tentative peace deal between the Ethiopian government and leaders of the country’s northern Tigray region appears to be holding. Tigrayan forces have begun to disarm, basic services such as banking and telecommunications are being restored, and desperately needed humanitarian relief is making its way to Tigrayan civilians.
Although thorny questions remain about the presence of Eritrean forces in Ethiopia, the status of contested territory, and accountability for the severe human rights abuses that characterized the two-year conflict, the momentum is toward a reduction in violence.

African Union joins G20
The African Union became the second regional grouping to be admitted to the Group of 20 leading industrialized and developing nations as a full permanent member, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Saturday at the start of the two-day G20 leaders’ summit in Delhi.
The widely-anticipated move underscores India’s wide-ranging agenda to elevate the global multilateral forum’s focus on the Global South in its presidency of the G20 this year. The 55-member bloc of African nations joins the European Union as only the second regional organization to become a permanent member of the G20.

Unraveling Nigeria's Ownership and its Complexities
In this article, we delve into the intricate web of Nigeria's ownership, shedding light on the various aspects and entities associated with the country. Nigeria, known as the "Giant of Africa," is a nation rich in culture, resources, and diversity. To understand the concept of ownership in Nigeria, we must explore its historical, political, and economic dimensions.
Historical Context: Nigeria's Journey to Independence
Nigeria's journey to independence was marked by a tumultuous past, shaped by colonial rule and subsequent efforts to establish a sovereign nation. The British Empire held sway over Nigeria until October 1, 1960, when the country gained independence. The ownership of Nigeria was then transferred to the Nigerian people, who became the collective custodians of the nation's destiny.
The Federal Republic of Nigeria
As an independent nation, Nigeria operates under a federal system of government. The power is distributed among three tiers: the federal government, state governments, and local governments. The President serves as the head of state and the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, representing the federal government. However, it is essential to note that Nigeria's ownership is not vested solely in the President but in the Nigerian people as a whole.
Sovereign Wealth Fund and National Assets
Nigeria, being an oil-rich nation, possesses significant national assets and a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) to manage its resources. The SWF serves as a savings fund for future generations, investing surplus revenues from oil sales. The ownership of the SWF and national assets is held collectively by the Nigerian government on behalf of its citizens.
Private Ownership and Business Entities
Beyond the realm of government ownership, Nigeria is a fertile ground for private enterprises and business ventures. Individuals, corporations, and foreign investors actively participate in various sectors of the economy, such as oil and gas, telecommunications, banking, agriculture, and manufacturing. Private ownership in Nigeria is subject to regulations and laws established by the government to ensure fair competition and economic growth.
Traditional Institutions and Cultural Ownership
Nigeria is home to a diverse range of ethnic groups, each with its distinct cultural heritage and traditional institutions. These institutions play a vital role in preserving cultural ownership within their respective communities. They serve as custodians of traditions, languages, customs, and historical artifacts, ensuring their continuity for future generations.
International Relations and Nigeria's Ownership
Nigeria's ownership extends beyond its borders through its participation in international organizations and treaties. As a member of the United Nations, African Union, and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Nigeria actively engages in shaping regional and global policies. These partnerships allow Nigeria to assert its ownership in various diplomatic, economic, and social spheres.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the concept of ownership in Nigeria is multifaceted and dynamic. While the Nigerian people collectively own the nation, the responsibilities of ownership are distributed across governmental, private, cultural, and international entities. Understanding the complexities of Nigeria's ownership requires an appreciation of its historical journey, political structures, economic systems, and cultural diversity.
