“Dorian lingered longer, graceful and steady, even as Rowan found himself struggling to speak past the tightness in his throat.”

There’s not much art of Dorian/Rowan, so I had to get these scene from KoA. Look at them 😩🖤

Rereading Throne of Glass and I never caught it before, but Cain knew Celaena was actually Aelin, and I feel like the only way he could possibly know that is because he was the one who killed her parents and chased her through the woods. How else would he know about her waking up between her dead parents.

I imagine Celaena finally seeing the sun after a year in Endovier must’ve looked a lot like this…
Tumblr media
…The utter joy to see the sky & marveling at the world. The wonder of it still managing to light up the eyes of someone who has seen the very worst of it. It’s no wonder both Chaol & Dorian fell in love with her … how could you not love that?

i feel like such a bad friend for recommending TOG to my bestie
because like-
"here you go!! you'll love this piece of literature, but it'll also rip your heart out and shread it again and again. and after you finish you'll probably need A LOT of time to even function properly. you also need to buckle up because these books will live in your mind rent free forever. BUT it's so worth it!!"

How would you compared Dorian, Manon and Aelin in ruling their kingdoms and how do you think they will rise above challenges.
This is a great question!
Dorian - He’s the only one with actual experience (though short) and training so I think he will be good at it. Especially playing politics and charming people. He knows how to play the game. And after KoA he’s proven to himself that he wants to be a good king to his people. He’s dedicated to making up for the past atrocities of his father.
I think his biggest challenge is proving himself to his people. They’ve known him as a playboy prince and Adarlan was likely destroyed by Erawan in the war. So it’s going to take time for them to fully trust and support him. It’ll happen eventually, but he’ll need to be patient, which I think he can be.
Manon - She lacks Dorian’s political skill, but she’s been raised to lead. I think her strength will be in delegating. I don’t see her as a queen who will be good at dealing with tiny details. Shes more big picture in my opinion. Which is why I think she’d rely on a council to support the day to day work.
Having a council would help overcome her biggest challenge - uniting the clans. They came together to defeat Erawan, but there are centuries of bad blood that need to be addressed. Manon is someone they can rally around, but she’ll need to provide an outlet for their voices to he heard.
Aelin - After KoA she is clearly a beloved queen. She’s cunning and devoted to her people. But like Manon, she’s not great at politics. She is stubborn, has a temper, and doesn’t share her plans. Not a delegator. At all! Lol Overcoming those aspects of her personality and trusting others will be a struggle for her.
I think they all have hard work ahead rebuilding their kingdoms, Manon more so since it will basically be done from scratch. Aelin has the biggest challenge in terms of governing style I think. Manon and Dorian have had more formal training and I see them as being more patient and delegating. But, Dorian has the shadow of his father hanging over him, which will be hard for him to dispel.
Thanks anon! This was fun to think about!

No spoilers please (sorry in advance if this question makes that hard😅😂) for the record I’m new to this, and on Chapter 24 of Crown of Midnight.
My question/concern that I’m asking Yes/No (or I misread) is this: if Elena married a Havilliard, and is already a Galathynius, & started both lines; wouldn’t that make all Havilliard’s & Galathynius’s related? (Including Aelin & Dorian).
The reason I ask:
Without going into detail on what ACTUALLY is (I don’t want to know if Dorian is adopted, Aelin is actually someone else, etc.) I just have one question to understand a previous chapter properly and am going to phrase it in vague hypothetical ambiguity to help make non-spoiling easier.
When Dorian says: Brannon is Elena’s father, Elena marries the first King Havilliard, and that line leads to him. He also says Elena starts all Fae line’s including the Galathynius line.
He then says in another chapter if Aelin Galathynius had survived then he Dorian Havilliard may have married her.
… Perhaps this is a Percabeth “we’re all related” DON’T TALK ABOUT IT “84th cousins twice removed” situation?😂 … not to be THAT person but we do live in a post-Star Wars world😅😅
