Elain and Lucien better be obnoxious with their PDA around Feyre, just to get back at her for flirting with Tamlin.
Lucien is probably like, “I have to sit here and listen to both of y'all, and y'all still didn’t even end up together??”

Rhys surveyed the room and chuckled. "I can tell exactly which ones you two did, and which ones Azriel tried to fix."
"It's cold as hell!" Mor called from the front hall. "And who the hell let Cassian and Feyre decorate?"
How they instantly knew that it was Cassian and Feyre 😂

some interesting things i've noted during my ACOTAR reread Pt. 2
*SPOILER WARNING for those who haven’t completed the series*
I finished ACOTAR a few weeks ago but I haven't gotten the chance to transfer my notes until now. Once again, names have been color-coded!
Feyre couldn’t keep her mouth shut only around Rhys. It’s almost like her true self comes out around him.
Anytime Feyre calls on some strength, the image of Nesta comes to mind. She sees Nesta as strong and admires her for that.
A queen without a throne
Are tattooed bargains a night court specialty? I was listening through the graphic audio, as a reminder, so some things slip through.
Pearls in Nesta’s hair. It makes me think of the pearl jewelry Elain later receives from Lucien. I think pearl is meant to represent luxury, and it seems to complement their features.
Elain is the only one with their father’s eyes and I always found it interesting. How similar is Elain to her father? Her father favored her, but I think that’s only because Nesta was cold and Feyre was busy.
Warrior beast vs half-wild beast, Tamlin and Feyre bonding for being unrefined (Disney Beauty and the Beast reference?)
“Don’t ever disobey me again” is honestly not the vibe, Tictac.
I don’t like knowing Tamlin’s anger is on a tight leash with Feyre. He’s angry at her. It feels overprotective in such a suffocating way.
“There you are, I’ve been looking for you.” SOB
The most beautiful man she’s ever seen
Blue eyes so deep they were violet
They just stared at each other! As if in a daze!
Night pressed in closer around him, smiling
Molded from the night itself, star-kissed night
I have a random “until dawn” note… idk
Cauldron boil me (double, double, toil and trouble… sorry, random silly thought)
Elain began learning to grow veggies! Reminder, the soil at the cottage was crap, it couldn't sustain the veggies. Elain could barely grow flowers. People keep forgetting that Feyre was their only access to nourishment because there was no other choice. Sweet Elain gets so much hate for not using her gardening skills to help, but it was set up so that she couldn't.
Nesta’s iron-will allowed her to resist glamour! I want more on Nesta’s strength. This is one of many reasons why I’ve been a Nesta stan since day one. I know she was cruel but we’re told why in book one. She wanted her father to do something, anything: be a father and care for them. I’m not saying it was any excuse to be cruel, but they were in a shitty situation and she showed her love for her family in other ways. Being willing to lay down her life for Elain? Going after Feyre even knowing it was risky? Asking to be taught to paint? She loves her sisters, she just shows it differently.
Heart of Stone was mentioned for a second time! hehe
Wyyyyyyyyrrrrmmmmmm. I’m a fan of giant worms (Dune, Star Wars). Fun fact about me: I went through a short phase where I just kept writing about worms.
Feyre deems Elain as stronger for being hopeful. She sees so much strength in her sisters and admires them for their differences.
Love Nesta! More Nesta love. She wondered what a woman might do with a fortune and a name. She wanted to travel! She wanted that independence! Pre-war Nesta hurts to experience. She’s opening up now that she’s safe socioeconomically and physically. It makes me wonder what else would have begun to heal if she got more of that peace and security.
Rhys: because I’m tired and lonely. The things he does and willingly puts himself through to protect his court and anyone else he can spare. Love his complexity.
(apparently there's a character limit for each block of text so here's a lil divider)
Honestly? I was vibing with the Tamlin romance, it was chill. The bite was nice. UNTIL Rhys appeared. Timtam just seems so stale in comparison. The chemistry is immediate between Rhys and Feyre, the tension is palpable. I’m still not over how Feyre chose Tampon over Lucien. why would I pick someone so clumsy with affection and who isn’t around nearly as much as the sassy redhead who bickers with me like an old friend? Rhys > Lucien > Tamlin is the order at the moment, and the order will stay until I have to consider the other boys (wait for me batboys).
Tamlin’s dad was Amarantha’s friend! They fought together in the war. Rhys’ father killed Tamlin’s, so Amarantha took Rhys in as a lover as punishment. Amarantha is so greedy honestly, and it's so gross. She wants Tamlin and Rhys but the only reason Tamlin hasn’t been forced like Rhys is that she wants to be chosen, she wants him to come to her willingly
Even in their last moments together, Rhys and Feyre are honest with each other. Honest in a way I've never seen her with Tamlin.
Very excited to begin ACOMAF, my fave book of the series.

Okay I'm rereading some beginning chapters of acotar and Feyre says Alis and the two other servants look human/high fae. Like humans with pointed ears. Specifically described Alis as a brown haired woman.
It's probably the glamour, but a very interesting take on it.
Also Tamlin "plops" down into his chair as a horse sized beast AND THEN shifts back to high fae form??? 😭 Sarah what are you talking about?
Credit tho, this is probably the best Feyre is written. Smart, observant, thinking - still panicked but not making stupid mistakes. And kinda funny, she thinks Tamlin is wearing the mask in solidarity with Lucien since Lucien probably wants to hide his scar.
Lucien is a bit weird? In retrospect, he knows about the curse, about the sentries going despite Tamlin's reluctance but he's acting like Tamlin traded Andras's life for Feyre's?
Also sjm's manipulative writing. At no point has Tamlin done anything to save Feyre or earn her trust but she mentally starts switching from captor to saviour out of nowhere. It's only chapter 5 or 6. Be serious. She hasn't even been there a day and she's saying the humans were wrong about Prythian.
Alis and the other two servants cut Feyre's hair, why? Also Alis telling Feyre to take Lucien down a peg lol.
Alis says Feyre will be safe at the mercy of their master and just before she left the dining room Feyre saw Lucien bow to Tamlin as well as be talked down from throwing Feyre out. How does she not know he's the High Lord?
Lucien to Tamlin: you have zero rizz, my boy
Also Lucien: "we're not going to bite." Teeth gleaming in a way that suggested otherwise. Cassian stole this man's whole flow 🙄
Not Tamlin saying it's an honour for a human to be served by a High Fae, stfu.
“You look … better than before.”
Was that a compliment? I could have sworn Lucien gave Tamlin an encouraging nod.
“And your hair is … clean.”
HAHAHAHA
(Lucien muttered, “So typically human.”) racism.
Lucien was seriously upset about Andras. That hurts.
Tamlin immediately assures Feyre that he's helped her family with income. It's chapter 7. The tension is sucked out of the situation and Feyre's motivation to leave is nullified by the author. That's kinda bad writing. Narratively it makes sense for Tamlin to use this against her trying to escape tho.
Tamlin has magic ropes? Hands? That can just hold Feyre in place?
Feyre: he's lying. Also Feyre: faeries can't lie.
“Why be so generous?” Lucien gave me a look that suggested he had no idea
They literally just finished making sure she wasn't in love with anyone back home so she could fall for Tamlin easier. So Lucien knows exactly why???
Feyre misses sleeping next to her sisters 🥺
Nesta must be stretching her legs and smiling at the extra room. She was probably content imagining me in the belly of a faerie—probably using the news as a chance to be fussed over by the villagers.
She legitimately doesn't know anything about Nesta.
...maybe the villagers would turn on my family, not wanting to be associated with people tied with Prythian, and run them out of town.
acotar Feyre would punch acomaf Feyre in the mouth
"Your hair is … clean. A pathetic compliment." 😭😭😭
(“What in the bottomless depths of the Cauldron is—”) so you're telling me sjm actually used to use real lore and incorporate it into worldbuilding. Wow. Like this is such a good line and flows so naturally from an upset Alis because of course that is how fae see the world.
I couldn’t bring myself to look at my slightly uptilted eyes. I knew I’d see Nesta or my mother looking back at me.
I’d sometimes wondered if that was why my sister had insulted me about my looks. I was a far cry from ugly, but…
I bore too much of the people we’d hated and loved for Nesta to stand it. For me to stand it, too.
The dynamic between Nesta, Feyre and the ghost of their mother could have been one of the realist, rawest elements of this series...

Im literally 4 chapters in on my re-read of ACOTAR and I gotta share something with y’all.
When Feyre is taken from her cottage by Tamlin, her family says goodbye but NOT I love you.
I wonder when the last time Feyre heard someone tell them they love her? My guess it’s been years. She has been taking care of her family for years, but I don’t think she truly feels loved by her family at this time.
Then the two times Tamlin tells her he loves her prior to UTM, she was not in the right space to tell him back. One was when she was asleep right after sleeping with him, and one was when she was in the carriage leaving because he was forcing her to. And honestly, after listening to a literary analysis of the book, Tamlin only said it as a cop-out as a half assed last ditch attempt at breaking the curse.
Then Feyre is faced with this riddle. Some people got it right away. Some people didn’t. This particular riddle was decidedly difficult for Feyre because she had never actually been in love before. She has never felt fully loved and safe in what I could probably argue has been at least 8 years or so at that point.
I’ll be sharing my thoughts through this reread

Final review of ACOTAR
Sooooo. I finished ACOTAR. Disclaimer, the pages referred here are from the French translation.
It's a massive review, (9k caracters and 3 hours, I really didn't think I would write something this long) so I put it under this "read more" thing.
I already mentioned in another post the book is really slow paced during, like, 70%, because it’s focused on Feyre and Tamlin relationship and budding romance. It’s not necessary a bad thing, but it get a little boring after a while. But I already read the book once ; I knew what was going to happen, and it certainly played a part in my boredom (is it the right word ??) so I’ll be indulgent about the pacing.
I picked up one little inconsistency toward the end of the book : on page 452, Tarquin is described as having “almost white hair, striking cristal blue eyes and warm ebony skin” (an rough translation back to English by myself lmao). And later on page 508, he is described having “tanned skin, a blue and green tunic, a roses crown on his blond hair” (still a rough translation). Honestly, it isn’t too bad, Tarquin isn’t an important character yet (or at all), he isn’t even named, only called “Summer High Lord”. I picked it up because Tarquin is more present in the following books and I frowned on the description page 508, and I remembered that he made another short appearance sooner in the book so I checked it up.
So onto the characters and what I thought about them !
Let’s begin with Rhysand, at least it’ll be done faster. No surprise here, I didn’t like him. I’ll admit all the seeds for Feysand are planted here so it's smoother on the next book, something I hadn’t saw on my first reading 7 years ago. But alas, Rhysand is desesperatly Rhysand, so all the signs of abuse that will (in my opinion) define the character and the Feysand relationship are all here too. Nothing new : the forced deal with the broken arms, the drugging and dancing, the eye that spy on Feyre,… I know it’s all explained (and immediately brushed under the carpet) in the next book, even if I don’t remember the details, and obviously Feyre forgives him, but I simply can’t condone Feysand with a history that heavy between them. Especially as we know that there will be… questionable actions on Rhysand’s part later on. Either he doesn’t learn of his past mistakes or they’re not mistakes at all and he knows perfectly well what he’s doing. I think (to no one surprise) that the latter is true, and here an example why : the first time Feyre is painted in preparation for her nightly dances, Rhysand shows her how, when the paint is damaged by contact, he can fix it with his magic. And later on, when Tamlin and Feyre are kissing and Rhys interrupts them, Tamlin has paint on himself and Rhysand made it disappear. Or maybe Tamlin does it himself, but either way it doesn’t matter, my point still stand : Rhysand can fix the paint on Feyre, he doesn’t have to kiss her to explain that the paint is blurred when Amarantha comes in the room. So Rhysand lied to kiss (read : sexually abuse) Feyre. He’s a dick. (Or it’s another inconsistency on Maas part, who knows ?)
Still, I liked him better in this book that I will in the next, because here we don’t have the narrative and Feyre telling him that he’s a poor, poor baby who never, ever did anything wrong in his life (or else he was forced and he didn’t want to do it :( ). Here, he’s still a villain/really morally grey character. (I keep making assumptions about what I’m gonna find in ACOMAF, and I should stop because I want to go in with an open mind.)
Amarantha is caricatural. That's all she inspired in me.
Then Lucien, because I wanna keep the two main protagonists for last. I remembered that he was one of my favorite characters, and so I was quite disappointed with my rereading. He is not nice with Feyre – which, understandable. She killed Andras, who was his friend, and he had to be at least helpful/civil toward her because they needed her to break the curse. That’s a horrible situation to be in. But all the times he insulted her… It was, at least 50% of the time, insults about her being mortal. To me, it feels like Lucien’s hostility toward Feyre was born of racism, and not of a personal history (her killing his friend). He did helped her UTM, but honestly with how their relationship was before that, I interpreted this help as him doing a favor to Tamlin/helping the only person who had a chance at freeing them from Amarantha. I do think that SJM intended for Feyre and Lucien to be friends, I just don’t think I read the book the way she wanted it to be read. And also, to be fair, Lucien wasn’t exactly really developed. Even his relationship with Tamlin was lacking, in my opinion. Lucien was sometimes (rarely) making fun of Tamlin, as friends do, or he was doing his report about sentry duty. Aaaand… that’s it. Tamlin reacted most of the time by being like “shut up, Lucien” and growling menacingly, which is, for one, not nice to threaten a friend, and two, all the time ? Come on, I understand the situation is really complicated, but be nicer to your friend, talk and joke with him, you’ll feel better Tamlin !
This will be our transition on Tamlin. He was quite nice during the majority of the book. I’m not exactly sure about UTM, but more onto that later. It was nice reading about all the efforts he kept making to get to know Feyre, and hilarious how bad he was at it. The Summer Solstice was one of my favorite scene, Feyre was so free and happy, and the idea of Tamlin playing violin for her on his knees… Yeah, I melt just thinking about it. He was a lot more anger-proned that I remember, but never toward Feyre, and she never felt threatened, and even if Tamlin did threatened Lucien, well,…  Lucien always came back to annoy Tamlin, and when Feyre, talking about Lucien’s eye, asked if Tamlin did it, Lucien was quite shocked, almost horrified, that she would think that. So I take it Lucien wasn’t feeling threatened or afraid of Tamlin, and therefore, despite being angry most of the time, Tamlin knows how to keep his temper under control until he can explode safely. (It’s still not nice to threaten people, especially friends).  About UTM, I don’t know what to think. Tamlin does know how to control his temper… to a certain point. He was never violent toward anyone during the book, but he did have difficulties to hide his anger, notably his claws which were almost always threatening to break out. And yet, UTM… nothing. He gives strictly nothing. No claws poking, no growling, nothing. I’m REALLY conflicted about it. Is it, as Lucien said, a way, as small as it is, but the only possible thing Tamlin can do to protect Feyre from Amarantha ? But then if it is, is it in character for Tamlin, who doesn’t seem to struggle to keep his poker face, even when he was an open book the whole time ? Was he so open with his emotions during the book because he was at home, with people he trusted and in a place where he was in control ? And so does it mean that UTM he wore a mask to protect himself and Feyre ? (this one should appeal to Rhys’s fans.) I DON’T KNOW. Maybe I think too much and it’s just an inconsistency/retcon on Maas part to justify Feyre leaving in the next book because “you did nothing to help me UTM”.
Either way, I liked Tamlin (and Lucien) less than I remember liking them the first time. But I have a theory : it’s quite possible that the unfairness and retcon that they both suffer in the two next books had me so offended on their behalf that I decided I would love them twice as much for every character who would treat them unfairly based on strictly nothing.
AND FINALLY FEYRE. Even if…, to be honest, I don’t really know what to say about her. She really is quite the typical YA female protagonist. She slayed the first challenge, it was one of my favorite scenes. And the last challenge was really poignant. Even if it was MORE than time that she used her brain. Seriously, this riddle was easy. Or maybe I read too much fantasy books, I don’t know. She was too complacent (not sure this is the right word, but nice is not right either soooo) with Rhysand. A guy that treat me like that, I hate him with all my guts, no matter what “helps” he gives me in the middle of all the abuse he inflicts on me. But well. Seeds for Feysand and all that. On that note, I think I read somewhere on Tumblr that Rhysand knew as soon as he met Feyre for the first time (on Calanmai) that she was his mate ? Not sure tho. In any case, it can’t be true because during their last conversation, just before they leave UTM, Rhysand says goodbye, then freeze s and looks at Feyre with, uuuh, big surprise (stupeur in French). Sorry, my brain is melting, I have worked on this review for way too long. So I guess this is the moment Rhys knows she’s her mate. Which, now that I think about it, is really weird that he would be nice to her before that because let’s be real : Rhys don’t give a fuck about people not close to him. Oh, well. Either it’s a retcon, an inconsistency, or anything else, I’m done with this book. Next step : ACOMAF. Maybe I’ll find some answers. Maybe I’ll find more questions, more retcons, and a sudden want to cry. (Open-minded, Danette, remember that you must be open-minded).
To conclude, I was not surprised about Feyre and Rhysand, they were pretty much what I remembered/expected. Lucien and Tamlin were a little disappointing, but honestly not by much, because I knew my memories might be askewed and I know not to expect too much from SJM. This was a very mid read. Not too bad, not good either. 2, 2.5 stars.
Oh, and sorry for any mistakes. This post was long and I really don't have the strengh right now to proofread it. Maybe later, but probably not. I hope it's not too hard on the eyes.

ACOSF Ch. 15 🤝 Wings and Embers
ACOSF ch. 15 is an amazing echo and callback to "Wings and Embers" for Nesta and Cassian.
In ACOSF ch. 15 it's from the words "The House had a taste for romance novels" through the end of the chapter, though the clear structural echo begins once Nesta and Cassian are eating together at the dining room table.
It's like SJM took the incredible set of beats in W&E and let these two move through the same beats as their ACOSF selves, post-Nesta being Made, post-Battle of Hybern, all of it. And the outcome is incredible.
As a reading experiment, reread W&E (you can Google to find it, try searching - wings and embers bloomsbury) then immediately read ACOSF ch. 15 from the line I mentioned, to see what I mean.
Disclaimer that the intentionality of this isn't something I have read anywhere as something confirmed by SJM. It's just something incredible I noticed through obsessive careful reading and rereading.
But! Her hand on his chest! His nose on her neck! The back and forth of who has the upper hand at any given moment and why! (On the latter, I especially love that in W&E Nesta emerges on top in the power dynamic, but in ACOSF ch. 15 I'd argue Cassian does, and that shift is so key to their growing relationship at that point in ACOSF it's just *chef's kiss*.)
Anyway, just wanted to yeet this onto my otherwise slumbering Tumblr as I reread (again) ahead of the HOFAS release in just TWENTY 👏🏻 DAYS! 👏🏻

I dared to take another step forward as the beast stretched its snout over the table to sniff us. She had green eyes with amber dots. They were not animal eyes, not with that shape and those colors. My voice was surprisingly firm as I challenged him:
—Kill who?
I just want to point out the composure, protective instinct, and strength while still being completely scared that Feyre had from the moment Tamlin came to take her.
Feyre fucking Archeron always had the soul of a queen.

A few days before the wedding ceremony, guests began arriving and I was grateful that I'd never be High Lady, never be Tamlin's equal in responsibility and power.
(ACOWAR, p.g. 33)
Alright, Fey//re darling, I'll give you the role you chose for yourself. The role of a Mother. Henceforth, Fey//res role in all my FF, present and future, will not hold any High Lady badassery. I am respecting her canon wishes.

ACOTAR reread thoughts:
So, I remember being mid on Feylain but figured he was the MMC and how the FMC always ends up with the MMC. I had spoilers because I looked up if Feyre and Lucien will end up together to see that she ended with Rhys lmfao.
Reading ACOTAR and remembering what I do with ACOMAF, she did retcon some things about Rhys. Rhys was a little more calculated, but y'know, let's blame the bond. I still don't agree with Rhys drugging her and parading her around. I also definitely don't agree with their forced kiss. He was able to manipulate Clare into not feeling pain, but he couldn't do the same for Feyre, but okay.
It did finally solve a long-term issue for me about their bond. It's Rowan and Aelin but mistaken their bargain for the bond. I think a couple of months had passed from when I read ACOTAR to ACOMAF, so I had forgotten several things.
Tamlin's red flags were highlighted to me. I saw them when I first read them, but it's not the first time where red flags were marketed as "good behavior," and I didn't realize just how often he told Feyre no and how Feyre came to expect his more volatile reactions. His attitude towards Lucien was another thing that stuck out more this time. I wonder if it was something that Lucien just knew when he should pull back, and it became aggravated when he no longer had control
With that, if there is anyone who will end up with a human, it'll be Tamlin. Tamlin already finds that humans possess a strength he admires, and it'll be the ultimate fuck you to his father's legacy.
Lucien and Elain parallel their prejudices towards the other kind to become more understanding, and their love for celebrations. I just think it's funny that it was Lucien who pushed for her to stay and it was Elain who prepared for her to leave.
Lucien was described twice as a shooting star. Not sure if she just liked the imagery or if it's meant for something more.
And finally, how Rhys was when Feyre faced Amarantha just echos Lucien with Elain in Hybern. I can see the vision of Nesta and Lucien, but yeah, she was right, they'll tear each other apart.
Starting ACOMAF soon. Time to be looking for Prison clues.

some interesting things i've noted during my ACOTAR reread Pt. 4 (ACOMAF edition)
*SPOILER WARNING for those who haven’t completed the series*
So lost, Feyre found herself content with the idea of never becoming Tamlin’s equal, but deep inside she knew that wasn’t true. The signs of her sense of self going down hill are only beginning.
“You clearly don’t know Rhysand.” Casual language, no titles used. Shows a closeness between her and Rhys as she’s so easily defending him, one of the only times she’s assertive. She gives in to the whims of Tamlin and Ianthe on everything, but her will doesn't bend on her opinion of Rhys. At least in this instance.
Feyre hasn’t laughed in so long that she doesn’t remember the last time she did… how busy and self-absorbed is Tamlin that he hasn’t even noticed? Why isn't he more concerned about her mind?
I just imagine the Disney Enchanted wedding dress as Feyre’s wedding dress:
Tumblr media
Bitch, Ianthe and the red petals! As mentioned earlier, Feyre has been giving in or complying with what everyone else wants. One of the few things she expressed for herself was "Not red." A firm statement with no room for compromise.
The kidnapping scene, itscomingitscoming. “As inescapable as the vow I was about to make”. The wording is so revealing of Feyre's true feelings after her describing her fear of feeling trapped, imprisoned. She’s not ready to get married. "Help me, help me, help me. Save me, please. Save me. Get me out. End this."
the night court was the most beautiful place Feyre had ever seen, straight from her thoughts. Just as Rhys was the most beautiful man she had ever seen!
Rhys: You look delicious today, Feyre darling~. This man has 1000% more rizz in his pinky finger than Tamlin has in his whole body. Love that his first time saying "Feyre, darling" in the book was when he was kidnapping her.
A new war is coming, from King Hybern. Rhys, the enemy, is the one who revealed this to Feyre. Not her fiance or her friends, the man who is seen as the enemy of those she loves.
Amarantha was an experiment, a test to see how long a territory could be kept. Hybern wants to reclaim the human lands.
Several untested high lords... ngl I forgot this piece of info in the later books. Broken courts with high priestesses angling for control like wolves around a carcass.
Feyre has a skill of catching the Suriel (always loved this detail), and she is the only hunter Rhys trusts
Feyre has the same signs that a high lord’s son might become his heir. Her powers could destroy her if she doesn’t learn to control them! This makes it so much worse that Tamlin isn't willing to teach her. He is harming her with his protection. Meanwhile, Rhys will teach her. The differences between the two males only grows.
"Tamlin won’t allow it." Like she needs his permission... Feyre also calls herself Tamlin’s subject. She doesn’t perceive herself as an equal. She's being brainwashed into submission. Rhys gets upset for her, "you are no one’s subject" as well as "Pretending you’re less than him, than Ianthe, than any of us." While Tampon expects her to accept a place below him, Rhys is pushing her to rise to her potential.
Rhys: “I know you, more than you realize.” HE DOES, HE REALLY DOES. he’s giving a voice to what she keeps pretending she’s not feeling, reminding her of the truth left and right. love him for that.
“Become a weapon.” Tamlin just wants her safe, guarded, and always inside. Rhys wants her to be capable and ready if (when) needed, he wants her strong.
Rhys placed Feyre in a room that was “so open”... because of her nightmares? so she’d always be able to have access to the sky, brightly lit by starlight? So she’d always know where she was when she woke?
AZRIEL WAS MENTIONED, AH!
Mor has control? of what? What games did they play and lose? Oh shit is it when Rhys went utm? what are they referring to!
Temple attacked, priestesses slain and trove looted. Def Hybern. What for?
Despite Feyre not being from the night court, and engaged to the high lord of spring, they are letting her hear the gruesome details of what is happening in theirs. They’re not shielding her from the truth like they do in spring.
“Great beautiful, brutal wings.” Rhys hates giving into his more beastly urges, but loves his wings, so it’s sweet that this is how she views him. Brutal, yes, but beautiful. She sees him as he is, past the monster he could be. He feels whole with the wings!
CASSIAN WAS ALSO MENTIONED. Apparently, he suspects it’s not Hybern but one of the Illyrian war bands as they “gleefully bowed to Amarantha.”
Winnowing~ no one had explained it to her before, she learns it from Rhys tho. Rare gift among the stronger fae. Without fail, what she should have been told by her friends, by her loved ones, she is instead being told by their enemy.
“Tamlin should know.” (this is about temples being attacked) that line sounded almost… betrayed. As if she’s realizing the severity of what is being kept from her. She does not like being shielded. It makes her feel, most likely, helpless. Powerless.
I know I'm shitting on him a lot, but I actually don't hate Tamlin. I understand every single one of his choices (doesn't mean I always understand his reactions, or even like either of them). We are told more than once why he's so suffocatingly overprotective and restrictive. The man is traumatized. Never again will he be powerless to protect his people, and he follows through (at first). I can respect that.
However, he is so blinded by his own issues, his own trauma, he has made himself incapable of truly helping Feyre. Over and over again, his choices reflect how he chooses to address his trauma over hers. There is no doubt he loves her or she loves him, but they are horribly mismatched for each other. If she had stayed, if Rhys never intervened, Tamlin would have destroyed her beyond repair. He almost did.

the REREAD : Chapter 1-4 notes FUN VER.
Feyre can read?! Like not well but she was "taught the basics of reading and writing" She's probably still technically illiterate but that still means Nesta literally didn't know Feyre couldn't/ forgot how to.
Fae were just zooming past the Wall all the time, even High Fae
Also Nesta looks younger than Feyre? She has pink cheeks (MY BABY)
Isaac Hale has the same personality as Azriel
Feyre really said fck the Fae! then later said I meant a different fck...
Elain straight up a manipulator, I love it
OLD LEN IS CANON??!? ifykyk
Papa A knew something was up with the wolf pelt immediately but Nesta quickly changed the topic? Sus
Mama A really loved Papa A but said fck them kids. It's giving Kenjaku and Jin, my faves
Nesta really loved Tomas? (WHAT IF I JUMP OUT A WINDOW RN??)
Feyre n Dad act like Feyre is the eldest sibling so why didn't sjm just make her the eldest?
Feyre hates her dad
She said it's okay her mom died cause then there's less people to share food with 😭
Feyre stone cold told Isaac, I'm only here for dick. I love brutal human Feyre.
Nesta: don't tell me what to do!! *Does it anyway and does more than asked*
Nesta literally got youngest sibling energy
Feyre: me n Nesta understand each other on a deeper level, we're 2 sides of the same coin❤️

Feyre throwing her shoe at Rhysʼ head and effectively “la chancla”ing him is in my top five ACOMAF events.
