This one's for @acidreflexing and anyone who wants to know when the moon's scheduled to crash on the Hermitcraft server according to Joe Hill's aperture system.
I have to thank my brother for a lot of this because I never could've figured out how to calculate it on my own.
Joe's moon big data gives weirder results than Tango's, but the reason for it is really simple.
First, taking in his measurements since November 18th up to December 10th, the rate at which the moon's image has been getting bigger seems pretty linear:
So what this means is that the moon is getting closer, but is slowing down, and should forever get closer to a height of 0 but never actually reach it. And if you look at the graph of the moon's distance from the overworld, it's one of those graphs (I placed November 18 at 0):
Now, let's just get meta for a little bit. The simple reason that the moon is following that graph is that, whatever the hermits did or are doing to make the moon's model bigger, they're making it grow at a linear pace. Which if you translate it into a distance that's what it does.
But fear not! After all the moon has a radius, and even if it's center should never reach the overworld, its side might end up crashing some time right? Assuming the moon's radius is the same noted in Tango's video, the moon should crash...
