Meeting a Mermaid - Sidon x reader

such a cute idea!!!!!! thank you so much for sending this in, and i hope you enjoy <3

you first meet when Sidon was called to Hateno Bay to deal with the giant octorok situation

your home was in danger, as were the land dwelling civilians who often found themselves fishing for their families and the village

Sidon took care of the beast

not necessarily with ease, but absolutely with might

you were frightened by this beast (as was everyone else)

but your home was in much more danger than the land dwelling folk

Sidon took notice of you after the beast’s defeat

and upon seeing just how distraught you were, he felt the need to comfort you

it was sweet, really, the way he took your hand in his

he had so many questions

mostly about the octorok that had been rampaging the sea

but, he was also curious about you

“Pardon my curiosity, but why would you stay here if you’re feeling threatened by such a foul creature?”

“For my family; to be close to them and put their minds at ease.”

it was this instant he started to feel something for you

maybe even fall for you

he took it upon himself to visit regularly

and even invite you to the events in the domain

“Please feel free to come by any time! I know it’s far, so if you’d like company, I don’t mind to escort you.”

you found little ways to communicate, from sending letters through the villagers in Hateno to messages in glass bottles

he fell for you more and more with each letter

and every time you came to visit, he’d find a way to show you every bit of the domain

he’d carry you to Veiled Falls for private picnics

and to Toto Lake when you wanted a swim with a view

he loves you with every ounce of his being

and he’d do anything to keep you by his side

I'm just putting this out here, and I know my friend @bearhugsandshrugs has had similar experiences and pointed it out as well. So it's not just me who feels like that.

This is not vague-blogging about anyone, just a general note. And please take this with the love it's meant with:

If you sent in *really* specific requests where a whole plot or situation is already laid out, it's often not fun to write and will likely lead to me not filling it.

Why? Because you're leaving me almost no wiggle room to make something out of it. Requests are not commissions. If you come to someone's inbox and layout everything to the last detail it's basically like you're just asking writers to ghostwrite for you. It's not inspiring and not creative - and therefore missing the crucial part writers enjoy...

If you have a very specific idea I have two suggestions for you: either commission a writer to write something detailed to your wish or - and listen, this is how I got here in the first place - why don't you write it yourself? Obviously you had an amazing idea, you already put some thought into it: create something out of it!

But requesting something like this will most likely just lead me to not fill the request or do my own spin on it anyway. So maybe take a sec before sending a request because I guess almost all writers love receiving them but leave them the room to do their creative thing - because that's why you like their work, yes?

And while we're here (and I swear then I'm done venting): If you write a request it's nice to be nice. A little hello and a please goes a long way. You don't need to bring your firstborn as an offering but just dropping an incomplete sentence with nothing else is like... I'm not ChatGPT, dawg, I'm not a content machine and I'd like to not be treated as such!

All that being said: I love receiving requests, really, also love receiving your thoughts and ideas but please excuse me if I will be more eclectic about it - because, after all, this is still something I do in my free time for fun. And I want it to still be fun in the future.

i'm having a little trouble with my writing recently, and i want to focus on writing small drabbles instead of trying for longer shots to solve this problem.

Quick Writing Update

So I think I've written more this summer than I did all last year! In large part due to all of you spurring me on, so thank you for the motivation and the muses!! 🥰

I do see all of the requests hittin' my inbox. 💌 (Again, a huge thank you!)

Know that I may not be able to get to the one-shot requests right away, but they will not be forgotten. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I've got some one-shot sequels I've been working on that I'd like to put out first.

But! I do have another fun SB imagine for you this week before the next chapter of Break Me Down hits this weekend. And I've got a deliciously angsty Dean imagine that I couldn't not do. You'll get that next week, most likely, along with some other fun stuff!

Hey!! I’ve never written a request before but for October or in the future would you ever consider writing like a fluffy/smut for Tate or Kyle from Ahs? Btw I also reaalllly love your Ethan writings they are sooooo good!!! ❤️❤️❤️💕

I would love to if people are interested! I like both characters, but I don't get Kyle (emotionally and his background) the same way I get Tate (minus the...Vivien thing and psychopath actions), so I would be better at writing Tate

Hi!

I'm not really sure what the point of this is, but I would appreciate it if you would read this (: Mostly, I want to say that I'm a massive people pleaser and the idea of saying no to someone's request is really hard. Sometimes I get a request that doesn't inspire me in any way and I feel horrible when I can't do the one thing I'm supposed to do. So, I guess this is my way of saying don't take offence if I don't fill your request but also try to understand that everything is not my style.

hi hi friends! long time no see!!

i had planned to come back with a new headcanon last week. i had so many ideas floating around in my head with some requests that were sent in, and the idea of coming back with something new was so exciting! but right after con, i was hit with a massive wave of depression and gender dysphoria, and it has literally kicked my ass. i am so tired.

i'm gonna to try my best to get something out by this weekend. i really miss writing, and i know it would help me feel better. but if i don't, please know i'm thinking of you all and trying to get back into my groove <3

Another update

Hey guys!

I'm finally well again from catching the flu so I'll try to catch up on writing.

I have quit university for now (for plenty of reasons), but I will change to a better one in September for now though, I will be taking it easy and trying to write as much as possible.
