i was reading your “therefore i am” fic til 3am last night and it’s still on my mind 😭 the attention to detail was phenomenal, and the way it all tied together was so well thought through it was insane. i loved the little details and callbacks to dialogue/moments in the game no matter how small or “insignificant” it was. that was some serious talent and usually i don’t enjoy reading and it loses my interest but that had me HOOKED. i’m tired now but it was so so worth it. you have some serious talent (with writing and also making me go through the 5 stages of grief just from one chapter).
im still amazed by how many people continue to read this series and it really means a lot whenever i hear your reactions!! thank you so much for taking time to read it! and im glad that you enjoyed it

are you more of a plotter or pantser when you write?
ngl i did have to look this up, and i suppose im a bit of both? like, when i say i have a scene planned out, or that i have x words of planning, or that i have an outline, idk what other writers' planning/outlines look like (aside from the outlines they made us use in elememtary school you know). my word docs for a story always reserve the top part for "planning/outlining" then i have a divider, and under that is where the prose of the story actually starts. when i count word counts of drafts, i only count what's actually written in that second part, from beginning then through the scenes chronologically.
i usually don't start writing a fic until i have not only a solid idea, but also a general concept of the plot (though as my recent posts allude, i tend to have difficulties wrapping it up after the climax). sometimes a scene comes to me first and i have to then build the rest of the au and plot around that scene, but i usually don't start writing what i consider to be in that "prose" section until i have some grasp on the overall fic.
and my "planning/outlining" section usually looks like this:
- x au, a!neo, b!reader, (ft. any important side character)
- if it's majorly involved au like frankenstein complex or strawberry sunday, i'll make a short character list. like in strawbsunday it looked like:
Human!Johnny [roommates w MK]
Fairy!Jungwoo [roommates w TI, DY] ; Vampire!Jaehyun [roommates w TY]
Witch!Doyoung [roommates w TI, JW]
and so on. that one also went in descending height order (members who are officially the same height were next to each other in the list, like jaewoo), bc for a time at the beginning, i was playing with having their height be affected by their species, but that ended up not mattering in the end. i also had so many characters who were roommates bc it was a college au that i needed to be able to remember who lived with who after a while, so that went in the list too.
- then a brief paragraph describing the major story beats
- The Scene that made me get inspired to write it, if there is one, usually all dialogue written in a big block of text like this: "Abcd ef ghijk lmn opqr st uv." YN "Wxy zabcde fg hij klm nopqr st uvw." NEO "Xyz?" YN "Xyz. Abcd, efg hijk lmnopqr. Stuv!" NEO
- more scenes, only dialogue like above
- more scenes, only dialogue like above
so that's how my "planning/outlining" can be 8k+, it's my "sketches" of upcoming scenes that i haven't gotten to yet in the "prose" portion. and while im writing, i'll usually get ideas for upcoming scenes, and add their "sketches" to my planning area at the top. sometimes i don't always know exactly how all the little pieces will fit in, and kind of have to assemble them into a little frankendraft by the end. and sometimes i find that little snippets of dialogue that i thought would be perfect ended up not fitting anywhere, or had to be minorly/majorly modified.
i often go into unexpected places, and find out a lot about my characters while i write! i have my loose outline and im flexible with it if i find that the story is headed in a different direction as i go (like, for example, in changer, i was originally imagining sungchan asking reader out at the end of the valentine's day event at the boba shop and have it be more of a second chances things, but as i wrote it i realized that my werewolf sungchan was too much of a loserboy to do that and it wouldve felt a bit forced imo)

How about Paulina for the ABCD Headcanons Meme?
Headcanon A:  realistic
She and Dash Baxter did have a brief period of dating eachother (mainly for extra popularity/leadership perks in their clique)... but eventually they decided it best to just be friends. Sometimes they get annoyed at others insisting they're "still" a couple (especially once Paulina and Dash get their own individual partners down the line).
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
Is definitely the creator of her own blogging site, being a mix of fanfiction posts about Phantom, gossip posts about her classmates (thinly-disguised with fictional aliases), and the occasional fashion tips here and there.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
Doesn't have that close of a relationship with her mom, who (when not busy with her "wine buddies”) tends to put alot of pressure on Paulina to "stay beautiful"/keep up appearances in the family's social circle. Deep down, Paulina can't help but feel jealous of Sam Manson having a mom like Pamela (who, while very pushy, still seems to be doting/attentive enough to wanna gift her daughter all those pretty pink dresses Paulina always wanted...).
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
While she had her crush on Phantom and flirts around with various guys, later in life Paulina would come to realize she actually prefers girls more (*haven't decided whether she'd be completely gay or like, bi with a female preference... buuut idk she just always gave wlw vibes to me in-general .3.*)

Last Line Tag
I saw @abcd-em do it and she compelled me to do it too. It's fun. Thank you for the quasi-tag, em <33
Rules: In a new post, show the last line you wrote and tag as many people as there are words.
Gayatri thought about it for a moment. ‘That’s it?’ she said after a brief pause. ‘Is that…all I need to do?’ ‎‘Well, was there anything else you wanted?’ Pavitr placed his hands on his hips.  ‘No, it’s just…how do I repay you?’ Gayatri asked.
I cannot possibly tag 44 people...so if you saw this, then you have been quasi-tagged by me too. Off you go <3

2D Working with Line - 10/3/22
Welcome back students , this week students will work with line to develop interesting and balanced compositions.
I will give a brief lecture via teams at 9AM.
After the lecture students will work on two different assignments:
Line assignments - in class
Franz Klein  - Homework.
Lecture will begin at 9am.
Principles and Elements of art.
Below you will find the terms we will be learning this semester.
ELEMENTS ( tools of the artists )
LINE
SHAPE
FORM
VALUE
COLOR
TEXTURE
SPACE
PRINCIPLES OF ART  ( guide for using above tools )
REPETITION
VARIETY
RHYTHM
BALANCE
EMPHASIS
SCALE AND PROPORTION
COMPOSITIONAL UNITY
I have added a quick video time lapse to show you how the elements work together.
From the simple definition of line which is a dot moving through space, that line becomes the starting point of design . **
https://youtu.be/uw9_WYnlsy4
Line creates a Shape .
When that shape is given depth it develops Form.
That form can be defined further through either Value and/or Color.
Finally Texture provides visual implied tactile sensation.
Space gives objects a sense of depth and dimensionality.
Today we are going to look at different compositional approaches to working with one of the Elements of Art , Line.
Last week, students had the opportunity to see how artists such as Franz Klein are able to work with *Line to develop engaging compositions.
He worked in a large scale format.
As you heard in the videos, those canvases where large in size. When you look at his work , you see multiple ways he works with line.
Line can be expressed in both Quality and Variety .
That means they can be gestural or controlled, thick or thin, long or short , horizontal or vertical , diagonal or curved.
Line can have direction.
This means that can lines can express a  direction such as vertical or horizontal, diagonal left or diagonal right.
For today’s assignment, students will work to create a variety of compositions utilizing Line as their point of design.
Creating 4 distinct and different compositions , students will show both Quality and *Variety of Line.
Variety is one of the Principles of Art.
Principles are guidelines used by artist to make compositional decisions.
I listed all the Elements (tools) and Principles of Art (guide to use the tools) above and you will have a homework tonight related to the Principles of art.
ASSIGNMENT WEEK ONE
You will begin this assignment today on Monday and you will finish the project on Wenesday.
Here is the assignment:
All work beginning today, will be done on Bristol paper.
You will use a ruler to frame the composition.
Do not cut the paper to the size required.
You need to frame it accordingly.
SUBDIVISION OF A GROUNDSHEET.
CREATE FOUR   (8 X 10 ) COMPOSITIONS ON WHITE GROUNDSHEET THAT DIVIDES THE PAGE INTO A DESIGN WHERE LINE IS EMPHASIZED BUT ALSO DEVELOPS INTEREST INTO HOW SPACE IS IS SUBDIVIDED.
All four compositions will be 8 x 10 inches in size.
Use a ruler to define the surface sheet.
*In this class surface sheet defines the space where your design will be created.
Use ink or black acrylic paint and brushes.
You will work in class assignments as follows:
A) Composition 1 & 2 on Monday.
B) Composition 3 & 4 on Weds.
Once you are ready to work you will comply to the following guidelines:
1) COMPOSITION  A
ONLY HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL LINES
2) COMPOSITION  B
ONLY DIAGONAL LINES
3) COMPOSITION  C
CURVED LINES
4) COMPOSITION D
A COMBINATION OF AT LEAST ONE OF EACH TYPE OF LINE ABOVE.
Please note that *Craftmanship is important in completing class assignments as is the ability to come up with *Creative and *Original solutions to this and all assignments in class.
You will work on this assignment for the next two class days begining Monday.
Post composition A & B by end of class Monday .
Post Composition C & D by end of class Weds.
Below see some examples done in class by previous students.

Homework assignments will be done after class and completed by Tuesday:
Students will use homework time to work on two Franz Klein inspired artworks.
Start out by playing with line as it divides the composition.
Look at your preliminary sketches for ideas.  Now look at the work done in the sketchbook.
( If you have not done so work on those sketches now after class.)
Use whatever materials are available to you at home.
Be creative and use any material available to you if you do not yet have the class materials.
From newspaper to brown bag from the supermaket , for today we will experiment with any suitable surface.
Based on your studies create two paintings.
You will use the Bristol paper for the paintings as directed below:
1) In the first one you will start out with black background and you will add white shapes to it, in doing so you will leave the black to represent lines.
2) In the second assignment you will reverse the process and start out with the white background and break the white background with black lines.
Once you have finished write  brief artist statement detailing your experience. Did you use bold lines, thick lines vs. thin etc.
The Franz Klein paintings will be done in class and posted to Tumblr by end of class today along with the artist staement.
At one time in his lifetime, Franz Klein used to work on paper he would rip out of the yellow pages.
See the examples of his works  below:

Why You May Feel Lonely Once You Learn More about the Disorder
Today, I'll be answering the question of why someone asked, like, why do I feel lonelier than before discovering MDD. So, we now understand the various phases one goes through when you find yourself engaging in this addictive behavior, which you don't even know what it's called, but you feel that actually, you're just addicted to daydreaming. You keep doing it, and then when you start doing some brief Google searches, searching on Facebook, on TikTok, or just Instagram, or just wherever, you find the name is called "maladaptive daydreaming."
So normally, we say that once you find the name of the disorder, you feel a sense of belonging. You feel that you connect with others who have the same behavior, and you feel that there's actually a community. You feel all these things, and for some people, they feel that they are not lonely because they have this community of people who understand their behavior. But actually, there are other instances where finding out the name of the disorder creates more loneliness. So, why does this happen? Actually, the main thing is awareness.
Awareness here means that when you are aware that something is now a problem or something is, let's say you didn't know about the name of the behavior, so you're just living your life, isolating yourself sometimes, just doing things sometimes, but you didn't really understand. But when you are now aware of the behavior, you educate yourself about the behavior, about maladaptive daydreaming, you start now to become aware of the instances of the things which this behavior has taken away from your life.
So, awareness of the fact that this disorder has taken away things in your life is what makes you more lonely. You start to realize that, actually, wow, this behavior is serious. Actually, that moment, that ABCD, when I lost my friends, is because of this behavior. Actually, the moment I could not really receive that call is because of this behavior. It's like you're now recalling instances where this behavior pushed people away. That's something with awareness. It just shows you the things you may have suppressed or you may have pushed aside, of course, both unconsciously and consciously.
So, that awareness will make you feel a bit of emptiness on the inside. That's why discovering the name of the behavior sometimes may make you feel lonelier because you are experiencing the loneliness of the past. You are remembering what this behavior has done to you or what this behavior has taken away from your life. But before, when you were just doing normal things and daydreaming here and there, you were just pushing aside all those things like, "Ah, it's okay. I can skip that friend's birthday party because I want to daydream." But now, once you learn about it, you're like, "Wow, that moment is when my friend probably started isolating themselves from me."
So, just that awareness brings to your awareness the things you've buried deep inside or the things you've suppressed, the things you've pushed aside because of your preference for the imaginary world. So, awareness brings to awareness the things you buried, and that may make you feel empty and lonely on the inside. Hope you found that informative, guys. But don't let that awareness make you feel bad about yourself. Just let that awareness show you that actually, this behavior, if you keep engaging in it, will create more misery in your life. But if you work on it, it will bring you back. Because the reverse is true. The fact that a behavior can push people away means that if I work on this behavior, or on this addictive behavior, it will mean that I'll keep drawing healthy relationships into my life.
So, it's the same thing. It's just inverse. If you work on it, you'll attract great relationships and friends; you'll have more opportunities. And if you don't work on it, distance grows. So, awareness should help you now understand that this is a serious issue, and you need to work on it. Not make you feel bad about it, but instead, you should be grateful that you are aware and work on the problem..

Overview of Steps and ABCDE Approach in NREMT Trauma Assessment
Do you have any family members who have recently gone through physical or mental trauma? If yes, you should look for emergency medical technicians in your area to conduct a Trauma assessment of the patient timely.
Steps Involved in the Assessment of Trauma Victims
Gathering of Resources and Information
Gathering of Patient Assessment EMT professionals and other care teams. essential equipment and basic information is the first step to assessing trauma victims. Emergency Medical Services should share details related to the mechanism of an injury, vital signs of a patient, latest interventions, obvious injury, and age of the patient.
Predict a Few Injuries or Threats
Once the emergency medical technicians collect information about the patient, they start thinking about a few possible injuries, which may become a threat to the life of the patient. The trauma team varies according to the staffing and location of the hospital but it should possess at least an EMT or nurse, and a doctor.
Tumblr media
Role Assignment of Medical Professionals
Before the arrival of a traumatic patient, every medical professional should know his/her role. In particular, a doctor or physician should be the team leader in handling a trauma patient. Other roles related to NREMT Trauma Assessment are airway management, documentation, IV access, attachment of monitoring devices, and administration of medicines. The doctor should not only assign individual roles to medical professionals but also he should take the charge of the right decision and direction after the arrival of a trauma patient through his assessment.
Gathering and Preparation of the Essential Equipment
Based on the initial information obtained by NREMT Medical Assessment for traumatic patients, the teams should assemble and prepare every piece of equipment. Medical professionals should prepare equipment for cardiac monitoring, intubation, intraosseous access, intravenous access, and other interventions, which may indicate the obtained initial information. Other than that, doctors and EMTs may need a few additional pieces of equipment and interventions to be prepared to access additional resources for patients.
Commencement of the Primary Survey in the Sequence of ABCDE
Once a patient arrives in the clinic or hospital, Patient Assessment EMT professionals will brief their findings related to the trauma patient. Based on the present condition of the trauma patient, the team has to start the primary survey at the time of EMS presentation only. For this, EMTs should put their best possible efforts to provide pertinent information to the doctor. Accordingly, doctors and experts involved in Advanced Trauma Life Support should promote the primary survey of every trauma patient by following the ABCDE sequence. Here, ABCDE is the acronym for airway, breathing, circulation, disability, and exposure.
Tumblr media
Airway
Airway obstruction in a trauma patient is an emergency and it needs immediate help from experts. If the problem remains untreated, the obstruction may pose many risks related to brain damage, heart and kidney problems, cardiac arrest, and death.
Breathing
Under breathing, EMTs and doctors diagnose and treat severe asthma, haemothorax, tension pneumothorax, pulmonary oedema, and other immediate life-threatening conditions.
Circulation
Circulation checks everything, which may compromise the circulatory state of a patient. These include hypovolaemia, tension pneumothorax, and related breathing problems.
Disability
Under the disability section, doctors and EMTs identify hypercapnia, hypoxia, cerebral hypoperfusion, and administration of analgesic drugs, all of which are underlying causes of disability in trauma patients.
Exposure
Doctors examine trauma patients based on complete exposure to their bodies. However, one should respect the dignity and must reduce heat loss.
Conclusion
Trauma assessment is the most significant step to help the condition of trauma patients gradually and to let them lead a better life.

Calls in the middle of the night.
I was reminded of this by a recent post.
Back in the late 90's when house phones were still a thing, our phone kept ringing in the middle of the night after we moved to a new house and had to get a new telephone number.  Unfortunately, I didn't have caller ID.
This went on for months.  I was always too sleepy and incoherent to ask for an explanation before the calling party hung up.
Finally, one night, there were two calls, and I was still awake for the second call, so I answered in a business-like fashion, rather than with a sleepy "Hello."  The person on the other end was in a hurry to get in touch with someone other than me, but at least when I said "You have to tell me why people keep calling!" they said "It's in the main directory!" before they hung up.
Main directory?
Hmmm, there was a large employer near me, Freescale Semiconductor (it used to be part of Motorola and now it's part of NXP, but then it was a private company.)  So I found their main number, dialled it, and listened to the nighttime recording.  It was a long list -- "For blah-blah-blah, call xxx-yyyy.  For blah-blippty-boo call zzz-abcd.  For the MOS 11 Fab Main Floor, call zephen's home number and wake his ass up."
Or something like that.
Anyway, it was now 3:30AM, and I was wide awake.  This was during that brief moment when the web, home phones, and phonebooks coexisted.  So, I got on the web, found out the name of the CEO of Freescale, found him in the phone book, got on the phone, and called and woke his ass up.
After I explained the situation, he mumbled something like "Couldn't you call Freescale security and have them fix it?"
"Well, I'm sure all of your wonderful employees who ever called me took it upon themselves to try to do that immediately after they realized that an error in your directory was causing them to wake up random strangers.  It seems unlikely your security would listen to me if they won't even listen to your own people!"
"Uhhhhhhhhh, well could you call my office in the morning?"
"Sure, what's the number?"
So I chatted with his secretary a few hours later, and she said she'd fix it.  But, of course, that night I tested it again and it was still broken.
So I called his secretary back the next morning, and factually explained that it wasn't fixed yet, and that every single time I got called in the middle of the night, her boss would as well.
The bitch was dumb enough to ask "Why on earth would you do that??!?" but smart enough to realize that she'd been adequately warned that her name would probably come up in any subsequent 3 AM conversation between me and her boss, and resourceful enough to get it fixed post haste.
tl;dr -- Misconfigure your system so that it regularly bothers me, and I'll do my damnedest to make it a personal problem for the highest-ranking asshole I can find.

You feel uncomfortable about Scepter 4 year-end track, is it because you're Reisaru shipper and in that track Fushimi ditched Munakata to chase Misaki? You know that the track was made by Yellow, one of official GoRa's members, right? The track is, sadly for you, canon.
Fushimi ditched Munakata? Oho, I support it fully. Like hell, sometimes on Drama CDs or short stories (especially Gakuen K) Fushimi is so tolerant with Munakata's shenanigans and made me want to scream "just kick him and run away Fushimi!" (Case point : Munakata fishing trip, Munakata got handcuffed, Munakata's King Game, Fushimi became Santa Claus). And for me, the fact that Fushimi can refuse Munakata and willing to do so without any fear or hesitation is the cute and healthy point of Reisaru. He already coldly rejected Munakata many times you know, like when he refused to accompany Munakata on his hobby because it reminded him of the time when he was roped by Totsuka into various activities, he refused to play cheese with Munakata, he refused to see autumn falling leaves together with Munakata on their day off, etc. So yeah, the fact that Fushimi ditched Munakata to chase Misaki didn't bother me at all.
So what made me feel uncomfortable for this track? Just one word, Timeline. The explanation is a bit meta-y so if you don't want read my rambling, the short answer is there's discrepancy with the main canon timeline, and while it's not impossible, the implication made me uncomfortable. Again, not impossible but hella uncomfortable for me. For full explanation....
See, for me, since most of K Drama CDs are mostly gag tracks, the ones that I treat as canon are Drama CDs that I think can be slotted in canon timeline. Drama CDs like Crow's Repayment, Snow White, and Izumo's Room are definitely not canon because there's no way those were happened on main timeline situation. Drama CDs like Everything Sank Except Me and That Guy and Munakata Fish The World is obviously placed after ROK (since Munakata got weakened like he can't pull a tire and Sarumi's improved relationship). Other drama like Munakata-kun's Strap, Elevator, or For Justice can easily be slotted in pre-anime or even post season 1. Window Shopping, Figure Direction, and Private Hero are obviously pre-anime by the casual appearance or mention of Mikoto and Totsuka. There are Drama CD that used as blatant promotion of K Project, like Guys Meeting in The Shower and it's Girl Version counterpart which completely break the fourth-wall by "Hey we are bunch of K boys in K world let's we dip in hot water and talk" which is definitely not gonna happen in canon.
So what category is YEP (Year End Party) Drama CD? It's logical enough to happen on canon. It didn't break any fourth wall. If we assumed that YEP Drama CD is truly happened on canon, on what period it's happened? It's definitely on pre-ROK, and by the casual mention of Mikoto, can it happen on pre-Season 1?
The answer is no. Why? Because unlike other Drama CD who has no mention of time as our foothold, YEP Drama CD has two hints about the specific time it happened. First, it's about year-end party, so the drama CD was happened on the end of December. Second, by the mention of ABCDEFGH as a squad that was expected to come by Munakata, it means that Scepter 4 Special Ops Squad was already formed, since before it ABCD were leaders of 1st-4th platoons and EFGH were ordinary swordsmen of 4th platoon. Is it impossible for them to have casual gathering together? No. Is it impossible for them to get grouped together on formal gathering with their boss? Yes. Because based on Scepter 4 structure, they were not a group yet, they were not even on the same platoon. Like, if EFGH was invited, how about the rest of 1st-3rd platoons? How about the 5th platoon leader and members? (Poor 5th platoon, they didn't get any screen time except a brief mention on Season 1 episode 8). And before Special Squad was formed, Fushimi is just an ordinary rank on Intelligent Division, so why did he come to gathering for Scepter 4 bosses and leaders of Swordsmen platoons, with bunch of troublemakers from 4th platoon? (I mean, yeah he is Munakata's favorite and the King's private soldier, but that was not.... an official title). The Drama CD with the mentioned casts was not logical to happen if Fushimi and ABCDEFGH was not yet grouped under a special group, which is currently named Special Ops Squad.
Now when we established that YEP drama CD happened on late December, before ROK and after Special Ops squad was formed, let's look at the detailed timeline of K :
Tumblr media
Special Ops squad was formed on Side Blue, detailed time was on 1st May 2012. Fushimi particularly joined Special Ops Squad and became the third-in-command on 6th June 2012. So the mentioned casts (Special Ops Squad) plus Awashima and Fushimi were expected to have Year End Party together with Munakata, it certainly happened on late December 2012. And what happened on December 2012? Apocalypse well quite almost close to that. On 7th December 2012 Totsuka was dead, and 12 days after, on 19th December 2012 Mikoto was dead, killed by (a very unwilling) Munakata. So if YEP drama CD happened on 23-31 December 2012, more or less a week after the end of Season 1 and Mikoto's death, then...
-Scepter 4 ditched Munakata even thought they were aware that more or less a week before their King killed his friend. If the rest of squad didn't know about Mikorei's relationship, then at least Awashima knew how hard mental blow that was received by Munakata on K Season 1. Yet she still ditched Munakata. I don't know what happened on previous YEP, but would the ever loyal Awashima ditched her King when she knew that Munakata was very possibly on his sad and hurtful period?
-Fushimi taunted Yata with mentioning Mikoto just more or less a week after Mikoto's death. Sure we knew that Fushimi could taunt Yata even after Mikoto's death, but (I hope) he didn't specifically search for Yata and taunt him with how Homra and Mikoto is suck just after Mikoto's death. On canon, after Mikoto's death Fushimi avoided the hell of Yata and Homra, on Missing King Yata called him first, and on ROK, their meeting was coincidental.
-I love Scepter 4 as a whole, and I particularly love Munakata and Fushimi on the same degree. But my love for each of them is a little different. I love both of them to be happy of course, but if Fushimi got flooded with angst, I will feel "oh yeah Fushimi angst, mmm delicious, give me more" but if I stumbled upon Munakata angst I will feel "noooo don't be sad, I don't want him to be sad, please someone fix it!" Yeah sorry Fushimi XD. And that is the reason why I can't enjoy Mikorei after Mikoto's death, because watching Munakata's constant brooding over Mikoto's death is damn uncomfortable for me and I can't even feel sad along with him for Mikoto's death (I don't hate Mikoto, but I am indifferent about him). So yeah, hearing how Munakata sounded genuinely upset when Scepter 4 members ditched him, when Fushimi ditched him, when I heard Munakata's lament that he was alone on the end of video, when more or less a week before he killed his friend, I can't enjoy it. I can't laugh for Munakata's misery, I feel uncomfortable as hell instead.
Please note, just I said, the track is not impossible to be canon. Is it possible for Awashima and the rest of Scepter 4 members to be annoyed enough by Munakata to ditch him even though not long ago Munakata killed his friend and almost died in the process? Yes. Is it possible for Fushimi to taunt Yata with Mikoto after Mikoto’s death? Yes. Is it possible for Munakata to be left alone in a bar? Yes. BUT, as Fushimi, Munakata, Awashima, and overall Scepter 4 fans, that kind of portrayal makes me uncomfortable so much, especially since I valued Scepter 4′s bond so much and don’t care (or you can say quite disliked) about Sarumi’s taunting and fighting, also Munakata angsting over Mikoto. Also if the lack of Yata’s anger and depressed over Mikoto’s death means that the Drama CD happened before Season 1 a.k.a December 2011 (Fushimi joined Scepter 4 on October 2010, so December 2010 would be his first YEP and he shouldn’t know about previous party), then as Scepter 4 nerds I need explanation why only ABCDEFGH, Fushimi, and Awashima that was expected to come when they were not on the same squad before and Fushimi even just an ordinary member of Intelligence Division that rarely associate with Swordsmen Squad as Hidaka pointed out. Compare that to another Scepter 4 annual event like Flower Gazing that included Zenjou, Yayoi, and even we can assumed that there are other Scepter 4 member joined on flower gazing on other places. Also, Flower Gazing as annual event is already mentioned 4 times but there's no mention of Scepter 4 year-end party except on that Drama CD.
Speaking about portrayal, I also don’t like some of jokes on that track. Namely when Munakata said that he installed surveillance camera on Scepter 4 dorm, Awashima’s dorm to be exact. I knew that Munakata is an S and can quite ignore the concept of privacy and personal space, but as a boss and a man, just like Fushimi said, that action is a crime. And not the funny one. Awashima should and must protest for that, no matter how loyal she is to Munakata. And Fushimi as the main advocate of privacy and personal space should not accept that kind of behavior from Munakata and didn’t let Munakata be with just a simple protest. Honestly, if I have a boss who pulled that stint of me, no matter how amazing he is, I will lose my respect on him. And I respect the hell outta Munakata. I will not say that the track is mischarasterized Munakata, since as you said Kabei Yukako (Yellow) is the writer and she wrote an amazing Munakata in LSW and Sand Castle story, but maybe she played with fandom jokes “tyrant Munakata” a little bit too hard.  So yeah, I prefer if that track, especially that particular aspect, is not canon.
Not that I hate the whole track of course. I like some trivia about Scepter 4, especially the ones that was confirmed canon on other materials like Awashima loves plushies and Benzai has younger sister. I also like when Fushimi can baffle Munakata with his card trick. But still, Scepter 4 YEP Drama CD is uncomfortable for me.
Also track like Megane of Blue is also written by Gora Orange, it didn’t break the fourth wall or seemed happened on alternate universe, but you don’t actually believe that in canon Munakata truly became crazy if he lost his glasses right? Especially since we already got 2 glasses-less Munakata and he turned out just fine (three if you count Optician Drama CD, which is canon since it was mentioned on Countdown). On drama CD, script writers often exaggerate characters to create a joke, either Gora or non Gora.

Blank No More (Biadore) - Tanawrites
Summary - Bianca and Adore wake up together after a night out on tour.
A/N - might not be what you’re expecting from the description - or a totally realistic idea but I couldn’t get it out of my head so enjoy the pure mindless fluff that it is!
-
It’s with a groan that Roy stirred awake, instantly aware of a throbbing in his temples. His mouth felt dry and when he went to rub his eyes, his hand came away with black smudges. It wasn’t often he went to bed without fully cleaning Bianca away from his face so that paired with the  initial symptoms of a nasty hangover told him that last night had been a big one.
He wasn’t surprised to notice a dark head of hair curled up on his shoulder, clingling closer and making a noise of disapproval as Roy started to shift. Danny usually ended up in Roy’s bed whether they were sharing a hotel room or if they were down the hall from each other. It had started as the four of them, the familiarity of the ABCD group piling into bed with each other, either too drunk or too reluctant to part from the comfort of their makeshift family some nights when they felt so far away from any other sense of normalcy.
As they continued to tour with each other and they realised Darienne snored and Courtney more often than not brought trade back to the hotel room with her, Danny and Roy spent almost every night together. It didn’t matter if they came back together or if Danny came in hours later than Roy, they almost always found themselves in the same shared space every morning. Plus, Roy was the only person who could get Danny up on time.
The dull light that peaked through the corners of the curtains told Roy it was well into the afternoon and much later than he usually got up, on days he wasn’t nursing quite possibly his worst hangover in years. When he was younger, partying was just as much part of the gig as the performance was. Drag work meant clubs and clubs were exclusively night work. Even drag brunch was performed after not sleeping from the Saturday before. Shots backstage in the dressing room quickly translated into a glass of wine while getting ready and afterparties. Roy didn’t participate nearly as much in all the antics and partying as his fellow Drag Race sisters did. This tour had been somewhat of an exception though, much at Courtney and Adore’s insistence.
Roy was getting glimpses into the previous night as he closed his eyes again to soothe some of the pain. Going out after the show, still in drag, dancing with Adore in a club, taking shots with Courtney, saying a reluctant goodnight to Darienne and then not a lot else. Some hazier memories without Courtney, of being in a cab with Adore practically in her lap and not much else after that. They’d somehow made their way back to the hotel though and after daring a glance at the nightstand, Roy’s phone seemed to be in tack even if it wasn’t on charge and his bank card thankfully next to it.
As he woke up more, his hand running along Danny’s back as a gentle way to start waking him up, Roy noticed they were both in nothing but their underwear. That wasn’t unusual though, the lack of privacy in dressing rooms, sharing a hotel room so often and the numerous occasions Roy has stumbled Danny into a shower after a drunken night meaning there were little to no barriers between them anymore. He was just grateful he’d somehow managed to get them both out of their costumes and cinchers before they’d passed out.
There was extra pressure on his hip other than Danny’s body though, a discomfort where Danny’s knee was nudging against, leg tossed over both of Roy’s thighs.
Eyebrows knit together in a frown, Roy peeled back the blanket. There was a bandaged taped in place on his hip, half covered by his briefs. Quickly dismissing the thought that he’d hurt himself somehow in the show, he started to pull off some of the tape. If it was rare for him to wake up with a hangover, it was unheard of for him to come home hurt after a night out. Even after completely letting go of his inhibitions, Roy by nature was always careful and especially as Bianca, in control of the situation.
“Let me up, my love.”
Roy nudged Danny’s arm until he grumbled a little but loosened his hold enough to let Roy slip out from the embrace. Standing up was briefly disorientating but even the raging headache wasn’t enough to distract Roy from his curiosity. He padded into the bathroom, wincing at the harsh lights until his eyes adjusted.
He looked at the bandage in the mirror and watched his reflection as he tucked the waistline of his briefs down to see the bandage in full. It honestly wasn’t that big at all but he couldn’t work out what he could possibly have done to the dip of his hip bone to warrant a bandage. Or more importantly, who had bandaged him up? It certainly hadn’t been him or Danny, considering they seemed to be in about the same state. Impatient, he was hasty in pulling off the tape but was cautious as he pulled the bandage away, not knowing what to expect.
“No fucking way.”
-
The night before was one of their biggest crowds yet and they all felt the difference. Performing to any crowd at all was an experience but one of this volume, to see the rows going further back than they could with the stage lights partially in their eyes and to hear the applause not of a hundred people in a club but thousands. The atmosphere was addictive and they closed the show a high. Once they’d all caught their breath backstage, there was no discussion of if they were going out but just a matter of where.
A few hours into the night, after Courtney had separated from the group to talk to the guy she’d been eyeing since the first club and Darienne called it a night, Adore was hanging off Bianca’s shoulder at the bar. Their makeup was slightly smudged from sweat both from the show and dancing but it was mainly in tack still. Their wigs had seen better days but in Adore’s case, that was true even before the show and Bianca would have told her that, had she not been in such a good mood.
“Come on, Delano. Let me buy you another drink.”
It wasn’t often or ever that Adore was the voice of reason between the two of them. Bianca took celebrating seriously though and tonight there was a definite reason for it. She’d been the one offering a round of shots, to agree to Adore’s first request to dance despite her usual reservations, the one who complained and tried to convince Darienne to stay out longer.
“Let’s go back to the hotel, Yanx. We can drink more from the mini-bar.”
Adore tugged on Bianca’s hand, letting her lips drop into an exaggerated pout to counter Bianca shaking her head stubbornly.
“I had to tuck for the show and it’s so uncomfortable.”
“Go untuck in the bathroom!”
Using her free hand, Adore tugged up her miniskirt just enough so that Bianca could see the thin strap of the thong Adore was wearing and made it obvious why she couldn’t untuck. Without the support of the tape, that thong certainly wasn’t going to be enough support for the short skirt. Bianca rolled her eyes but was quick to tug the material back into place.
“Alright, alright, you whore. Lead the way.”
Bianca allowed their fingers to lace together instead of the loose hold so that Adore could lead them to the exit, already fishing into her bra with her free hand to pull her phone out to book them a ride back to the hotel.
The cool air was a stark contrast from the stuffiness of the club and although momentarily relieved, Bianca knew they’d get cold quick. She sighed, trying to get her eyes to focus on the screen so she could type the address of the hotel. She was snapped back into the moment when Adore tugged excitedly on her hand, nearly dropping her phone in the process.
Before she could make a snide remark about Adore practically ripping her arm off, she was being tugged down the street until they came to a stop a few doors down. Confused for a moment at what she was looking at, Bianca looked the store up and down dubiously while Adore bounced on the spot.
“We have to. Come on!
-
Roy was frozen for a moment as he looked at his reflection, at what the bandage had revealed. He blinked once. Twice. Then he was moving back into the main room, reaching for the corner of the duvet and tugging it off the bed despite the loud complaints from Danny.
“I swear to god, Adore.”
He avoided Danny’s hands that were alternating between swatting at him and trying to grab a hold of him, no doubt to pull him back to bed to make up for the lost warmth. He was too caught up in his task to be tempted, though bed was more and more inviting as his head spun, a mix of his confusion and the resounding headache.
“You better have one too.”
Mumbling to himself at this point, he ignored Danny’s squinting gaze that looked down at him and tugged against Danny’s knee where he’d curled it up into himself.
“Quit squirming around.”
Grateful that Danny compiled without complaint, Roy pressed against the planes of Danny’s stomach until he was laying flat but he was surprised to find no matching bandage covering Danny’s hip. Remembering that the idea came from Danny initially, Roy was dumbfounded that he was the only one to leave the shop with a tattoo. His first and only tattoo.
He even lifted the waistband of Danny’s thong on each side to make sure there wasn’t one covered by the material, shaking his head as Danny giggled at the touch from under where his hands were covering his face, no doubt to try and escape the dull light that was entering the room.
“Are you coming on to me?”
“In your wildest dreams. Or at least the ones you have when I wake up to you humping my ass.”
Even in his state of shock, Danny’s responding laugh had Roy’s lips lifting in a smile. He shifted to kneel by Danny’s side instead after reaching for the blanket and tugging it back over Danny, resting back on his heels.
“I’m guessing you can’t tell me how I got this?”
He pulled down his underwear on one side to show Danny the small but prominent tattoo. He glanced up to gauge Danny’s reaction, expecting it at least to be as surprised as he was. He wasn’t expecting the amused, knowing grin that was spread across Danny’s lips.
“You bitch!”
“Hey, you were all about it! I picked it out but you loved it last night!”
Roy rolled his eyes. Of course Adore picked it out, he should have picked that immediately as his memories came back to him. Some were still fuzzy, especially in getting back to the hotel and how on Earth any tattoo artist decided that either of them were sober enough to be inked.
He got up again, returning to the bathroom to keep looking at himself in the mirror, turning from side to side. Part of him wanted to rub his finger across it, as if to see if it was fake or not but he swallowed the urge and instead picked up the pamphlet he’d noticed when he was in the bathroom earlier. After a quick read through, he noted it was instructions on ‘how to care for your new tattoo’.
“Alright, expert. Can I shower with this thing yet or not?”
He knew the instructions would probably tell him that but he tossed them back onto the bench after he got a decent idea. Danny probably wasn’t the best person to ask. As many tattoos he had, Danny was hardly someone who went by the book as Roy liked to normally. With the exception of apparently getting a tattoo impulsively.
He was about to poke his head back into the main room to see why Danny hadn’t responded when he felt hands coming to rest on his sides, curling around his abdomen and a chin settling against his shoulder. Roy leaned back into the embrace, his eyes flitting up from the tattoo to Danny’s face instead.
“Do you like it?”
Roy took a moment before responding. He watched Danny’s hand gently trace around the tattoo, not touching it but closely around the outline of the small but defined mermaid now permanently on his skin.
“I’m just glad you didn’t pick a dildo or something.”
He chuckled as Danny nudged him from behind, unhappy with that as a response and wanting Roy to continue.
“I like it, angel. Relax, even drunk I wouldn’t do something I didn’t want to. It’s cute.’”
Danny relaxed against him, having heard what he needed to release any lingering guilt that was ready to emerge if Roy hated it, if he felt that Danny had pressured him into anything.
“I like it too.”
“I really like that it’s not somewhere I’ll have to cover up for Bianca.”
Something unrecognisable crossed Danny’s expression then that made Roy’s eyebrow quirk in interest. He was already comforted by the fact that it wasn’t on his arm or his face or somewhere else obnoxious so he wasn’t worried, just curious as he watched Danny squirm in their reflection. He turned in Danny’s arms to face him.
“So I might have a problem.”
His curiosity doubled, Roy didn’t have time to respond before Danny was pulling his arms away and taking a step back. Danny turned around and showed Roy what he had been looking for earlier but missed. A small bandage like Roy’s, except it was on the curve of Danny’s ass rather than his hip.
“No fucking way. Tell me you got a clownfish on your ass or something.”
Roy was cackling at this point, hands gesturing for Danny to reveal what it was but he sombered quickly once Danny had pulled the bandage away. In small, cursive writing was ‘Willow’ permanently inscribed on Danny’s skin. Both of the tattoos held meaning exclusively for one another but Danny’s was something that could never be explained as something else. Willow was something Danny and Danny alone called Roy, usually my Willow, either in their lightest of moments or when one of them really needed the other, needed to belong somehow.
“Adore…”
He trailed off, unsure of what he wanted to say but knowing something needed to be said. Roy stepped forward, hands reaching for Danny to pull him into a tight hug. Vulnerable was something Roy was never comfortable being, even in front of their close knit group of friends. He was certainly softer to all of them than the rest of the world but still guarded to a degree. He wanted - he needed to let Danny in now though.
“Never one to be subtle, are you. I love it. Do you? Like it too, I mean.”
Stumbling over his words, Roy sighed quietly when Danny nuzzled his cheek against his shoulder, allowing the touch to ease the tension that had risen in his body. His own hand was resting low on Danny’s back where he knew the tattoo was just below where his fingers were sprawled.
“Of course I love it. I’ll have to be careful next time I go live on Instagram though.”
That was enough to have them both laughing, knowing Danny’s history of flashing his moon tattoo, now infamous amongst his fans for it. The seriousness of the moment had passed but Roy still felt the same swell in his chest, like it was a secret only he and Danny knew about.
“The fangirls would go crazy if they saw this.”
Roy pulled back a little, sharing a smile with Danny before he was moving around him to get to the shower, reaching in to turn the hot water on. The initial shock had distracted him but now that he had gotten all the answers he needed, he was becoming more and more aware of the niggling symptoms of his hangover again. Namely, he remembered that Bianca’s makeup was still smeared all over his face and he desperately wanted it off.
“I’m taking your silence as a yes I can shower so go order us some room service, I’ll be quick.”
“Shut up, there’s enough room for us both.”
“I won’t be long-”
“We’ll order together when we get out and there’s a cream you have to put on when you get out. It’s easier if I’m already in here with you.”
Roy wasn’t quite convinced with Danny’s argument but it wasn’t like he was going to say no anyway. Despite Danny knowing that as well, probably even better than Roy did, he rolled his eyes for show mainly and pulled them both under the spray of water.

Summary of Warby’s Judgment, 5th August 2020
For those of you who don’t have time to read all 65 paragraphs in full:
Introduction
(1) MM's "Five Friends" only spoke to People if they could remain anonymous.
(2) The 5F are not sources for anything published by DM/ANL, just the People article of 18th Feb 2019.
(3) Warby grants MM protection of the 5F, "which at this stage is necessary in the interests of the administration of justice. This is an interim  decision." In other words, witness protection; it will prevent the tabloids hounding the 5F and publishing things that may prejudice the case. He also notes that the case has been going on 10 months, is going slowly, and is still far from trial, and his judgment may change with circumstances, "if and when there is a trial at which one or more of the sources gives evidence." (I like the "if and when" here!)
(4) Warby tells MM's team to get a move on. He wants witness statements and a Costs and Case Management Conference so further pre-trial steps can be taken.
The Procedural Background
(5) MM is suing ANL over The Letter on the grounds of "misuse of private information, breach of duty under the GDPR [General Data Protection Regulation], and copyright infringement." Further details as per his judgment on 1st May 2020, the Strike-Out Judgment.
The relevant issues:
(6) In the S-OJ, ANL says the contents of The Letter were not private or confidential, MM had no resonable expectation that they would be, and their publication was a defence of the right of freedom of expression of ANL, readers and Thomas Markle.
(7) ANL claims MM's own conduct forfeited or weakened any expectation of privacy, and she had knowingly allowed The Letter and contents to enter the public domain.
(8) Six pages of details submitted by ANL; the publication of the People article was "sought and intended", "caused or permitted" and "acquiesced in" by MM. This is inferred because (i) the article contained detailed personal information that could only have come from MM herself (ii) the silence of Kensington Palace and MM on whether MM had consented to the 5F talking to People (iii) MM has not complained to People about publishing the article.
(9) This is the bit where MM claims she didn't authorise the article, didn't know what the 5F were doing, only later discovered it, didn't know they'd talk about The Letter or its contents, only 1F made a passing reference to The Letter and that the summary of the contents of The Letter was wrong anyway.
(10) Since the S-OJ, MM's case has been amended, and more information has been provided by her team. More relevantly, ANL has requested further information:
(11) ANL requested that MM identify the 1F who made the passing reference to the Letter and the other 4F who spoke to People.
The Response and attendant publicity:
(12) "The Response": MM's lawyers responded in a Confidential Schedule, and the 1F is now Friend A, and the others are Friends B to E. The 5F "deliberately chose to speak anonymously."
(13) The bit where she claims her wedding generated £1billion, which far outweighed the public funds spent on security.
(14) At one minute to midnight on 30th June 2020 MM's lawyers emailed a letter and attached documents to ANL's lawyers, received at midnight, claiming the docs had been filed at court. They had not. These docs were The Response, an Appendix of press articles, and the Confidential Schedule.
(15) ANL's solicitors immediately forwarded the email to ANL.
(16) At 4.58pm UK time 1st July 2020, the Mail Online published an article headed "Meghan Markle names the five friends behind People article". Brief description of the article, and we first hear of the "long-time friend, former co-star, a friend from LA, a one-time colleague and a close confidante."
(17) At 5.09pm 1st July, Mail Online publishes another article about the £1billion tourism windfall, according to "documents released as part of her High Court battle against the Mail on Sunday".
(18) Around 11pm 1st July, there followed another article about how MM was left "unprotected" by the monarchy, according to "leaked court documents". It also referred to docs seen by the Press Association news agency about the identification of the 5F.
(19) On 2nd July 2020, the paper-version DM ran with "Meghan: The Palace Hung Me Out To Dry" on the front page, plus pp 2-3; MM says she did discuss The Letter with close friends but never authorised them to talk, and more on the £1billion.
(20) All these articles were clearly based on The Response, but not on copies obtained from the court. A non-party can obtain copies, but only after the docs have been submitted, processed and accepted for filing. Which these weren't. They weren't accepted for filing until 11am on 2nd July 2020.
(21) The docs were submitted for filing as confidential and not for third parties without permission of the court, as they contained private information. They were accepted for filing on this basis. Only The Response is available to third parties, but it wasn't available until 11am on 2nd July, after the articles had already been published.
(22) Widespread international coverage before 11am on 2nd July. ANL's suggested third party seems improbable, whereas MM suggests all third party reporting comes from ANL. Warby did a little digging himself, eg Newsweek, and concludes that all third party reporting came from ANL.
(23) MM says ANL "had been astute to publicise its own case" even before this; cites article from 16th Jan 2020 about MM's private texts with the now ex-BFF JM.
(24) On 6th July 2020, ANL lawyers assert that using a Confidential Schedule as part of The Response is illegitimate, and the Schedule should be fully reportable. If no application for an injunction was made by 9th July, they would presume that MM accepted that the Schedule was not confidential.
The Application and attendant publicity:
(25) On 9th July, MM's lawyers made the application now being ruled on about the confidential nature of the Schedule and the privacy of the 5F: no publishing, communicating or disclosing anything in the Schedule or anything that might identify the 5F; no third party applications without permission of the court; and MM must be allowed in proceedings to refer to the 5F as ABCDE, not by their names.
(26) The application comes with two witness statements, one from MM's solicitor containing evidence about Friend C, the other from MM herself containing the bit about each of these women being a private citizen, young mother, etc blah blah clickbait, emotional and mental well-being...
(27) ANL lawyers suggest MM briefed the press about this application before they had received their own copy. Application filed at 8.32am, served on ANL at 8.30am; 8.45am Sky News already asking ANL for a comment; 9.30am title page of MM's witness statement "posted on the Twitter feed of someone called Omid Scobie" who quoted a "close source"... (I love the "someone called Omid Scobie"!) and the quote about the five innocent women, young mother blah blah... (I can imagine the pages of word salad poor Warby had to go through to condense all this politely; the blah blahs are purely my own.)
(28) Evidence supports ANL that MM's team "have been energetically briefing the media about these proceedings from the outset." Warby quotes emails to media representatives from James Holt, Sussex Royal's Head of Engagement and Communication, including a confidential summary note and a "crib sheet".
Relevant Procedural Law
(29) This is mostly technical stuff that Legal Anons will explain much better, but very basically, it starts with a list of who is allowed to see what, who needs the court's permission to see it, and who can be prevented from seeing it.
(30) "The records of the court": The Court has broad powers beyond those noted under (29) supra, and can provide access to the records of the court under the common law principle of open justice. (This is Warby telling MM that he's in charge, not her!)
(31) Parties may request further information, the Court may order information to be handed over; provision is made whereby information may not be used for any other purpose than court proceedings.
The evidence
(32) On 23rd July 2020, a third witness statement was submitted by MM's lawyers, this from Friend B. Three statements from ANL lawyers were followed on 27th July by a further statement from Friend B in reply.
(33) MM's evidence:
(1) B says she and the other 4F spoke on condition of anonymity, and it was B who organised the interviews after speaking with Jess Cagle (editor of People). She gave two reasons for anonymity (i) to avoid media intrusion into their privacy and (ii) to avoid the appearance of seeking publicity for themselves. MM played no part in this, wasn't aware of it and didn't know until after publication. B and the other 4F want to remain anonymous and refer to how media intrusion will impact on their kids.
(2) MM's lawyers say evidence and hearsay evidence from Friend C (as per (26) supra)
(3) MM's statement is short on facts and gives no good reason why her 5F's anonymity should be preserved.
(4) MM's lawyers give four reasons for anonymity: (i) to protect MM's privacy (ii) to protect the 5F's reasonable expectation of confidentiality (iii) none of 5F have been identified or confirmed as talking to People (iv) none of 5F is a party to the action and none is a witness. They are concerned 5F will be intimidated by the publicity and will not agree to be witnesses in support of MM at trial.
(5) MM's lawyers say ANL is exploiting its position as a major media presence, running MM articles to whip up interest in the case, boost revenue and gain litigation advantage.
(34) ANL's evidence:
(1) MM did not impose restrictions on what could be done with The Response, there was no commercial advantage, publishers are allowed to publish stories about any litigation they're involved in, there is no litigation advantage, and no need for ANL to whip up interest in the case as MM is doing it already, all by herself.
(2) MM's concerns and criticisms have no evidential support, there is "scant evidence" for her privacy concerns for the 5F, the 5F were always going to be drawn into the court case, and there's no justification for giving evidence anonymously.
(3) Press cuttings show that Friend B has previously publicised her friendship with MM, the inference being it was to raise her public profile.
(35) Friend B's second witness statement in response to the press cuttings, puts the cuttings in context and denies that it undermines her first statement.
Some matters that are not in dispute
(36) Three matters:
(1) The importance of the common law principle of open justice. Anonymity must only be granted if justified and necessary for the administration of justice.
(2) 5F only gave interviews on the promise of confidentiality from People.
(3) None of 5F has yet been publicly named, and it is not part of ANL's case that knowledge of their identities is already in the public domain.
(37) ANL has not put forward any justification of it being in the public interest to know who 5F are at this stage.
The rival contentions
(38) MM claims the Confidential Schedule is justified to protect 5F anonymity.
(39) Legalese paragraph citing previous cases where breach of confidence has occurred.
(40) More legalese about who should be allowed use of disclosed documents, ANL are trying to maximise publicity and make money from revealing 5F, and the Schedule is part of the statement of case and therefore only available to MM, ANL and their legal teams.
(41) ANL says in this particular case, anonymity is "a derogation from the open justice principle", and the need for anonymity has not been established by "clear and cogent evidence".
(42) Legalese from ANL lawyers about hearings held in private and the  limited circumstances that this is allowed; three paragraphs citing previous cases.
(43) Legalese about when a private individual can expect privacy, even if the private individual at the same time has a public persona.
(44) ANL's lawyers insist that the Schedule is part of the Response, not part of the statement of case, and should therefore be available to anyone, without the need to request permission from the court.
Assessment
CPR 5.4C
(45) (I'm presuming this means rule 5.4C of the Civil Procedure Rules.) Warby questions why 5.4C distinguishes between a "statement of case" and "documents filed with or attached to the statement of case". He says the "procedural archeology has not been carried out", meaning that it's a bit in the rules that no-one knows why it's there.
(46) Not persuaded that the issue of anonymity is decided by the definition of "statement of case", and Warby sides with MM lawyers that the rule was probably there to exclude from automatic inspection any documents that didn't form part of the body of the case.
(47) "The definition seems to me designed simply to make clear for the avoidance of doubt that "statement of case" does not just cover the main pleadings (particulars of Claim, Defence and Reply) but also Further Information about any of those documents." So in other words, MM technically can separate from the main body of the statement of case anything, Appendix, Schedule or other doc, that she doesn't want a third party to see; an application by a third party will have to have a valid reason before the court will give permission to make it available.
(48) "It is true that a party might abuse the process by placing information in a Schedule or Appendix without any justification for doing so. But such abuse is open to scrutiny and could quite easily be controlled and put right by the Court." In other words, Warby is warning MM - if she's abusing the process, he'll put his foot down and squash her hard. Cites a previous case where the judge decided to "revisit the appropriateness of maintaining confidentiality."
(49) The Schedule, by virtue of it being a "document filed with or attached to the statement of case" was already inaccessible to a third party without permission, and there was no need to make it a Confidential Schedule. It remains closed to public inspection without permission.
(50) This case has two other Confidential Schedules attached, to which no objection has been made so far.
(51) Is the factual and legal status of the Schedule justified? Warby thinks so, and approaches it "through the prism of confidentiality":
(1) ANL does not dispute that the information is confidential in nature, just that MM cannot rely on privacy rights, given her public behaviour. ANL is aware of the need to preserve the confidentiality of sources.
(2) ANL has information that requires an obligation of confidence, "subject only to any public interest that overrides that obligation."
(3) The information is not in the public domain, therefore the obligation remains.
(4) "It is clear enough that ANL is threatening to disclose the information, unless restrained. It invited this application, making it plain that it would consider itself free to publish the names if no application was made." (This strikes me as ANL covering its own back, forcing the principle of confidentiality so that they can't be accused of witness intimidation of 5F. ANL's lawyers have thought this through very carefully.)
(52) This is a procedural application for the protection of witnesses, not an injunction. Cites other similar legal cases.
(53) ANL criticises the lack of evidence that 5F need anonymity. Warby disagrees, as B and C have both made statements; B that she coordinated interviews subject to confidentiality, and C that she would suffer if the evidence and hearsay were to be made public. Warby states that the evidence supplied by and about MM and 5F is "credible and persuasive".
(54) How to reconcile anonymity with open justice.
(55) Open justice has two strands: (i) Human Rights Act`confers the right to a "fair and public hearing". This is concerned with trials at which final decisions are made, not interim or pre-trial processes. ANL has not invoked this. Rather ANL lawyers have chosen (ii) the established common law principle of open justice, which goes beyond the Human Rights Act, in that it does apply to interim processes. Cites other previous cases.
(56) "Open justice tends to foster public confidence in the impartial and fair administration of justice, to deter inappropriate behaviour by the Court, to ensure that evidence becomes available, and to limit the risk of ininformed and inaccurate comment about the proceedings." Not all these factors apply here. Cites similar cases.
(57) Open justice exists to "allow the public to scutinise the workings of the Law." However the Court needs to scrutinise applications for the disclosure of information and weed out anything that does not advance public understanding of the legal process.
(58) Warby slates both parties. In full:
"It is in this context that the parties’ tit-for-tat criticisms of one another for publicising details of this case in and through the media are of some relevance. Each side has overstated its case about the conduct of the other. The defendant has not made good, for present purposes, Mr Mathieson’s contention that the “real motivation” of the claimant and her husband is “to afford them an opportunity to wage their own campaign against the press rather than to obtain the remedies at which the proceedings are ostensibly directed”. Nor does the evidence persuade me that the similarly hyperbolic assertions in the claimant’s witness statement are soundly based. It is however tolerably clear that neither side has, so far, been willing to confine the presentation of its case to the courtroom. Both sides have demonstrated an eagerness to play out the merits of their dispute in public, outside the courtroom, and primarily in media reports."
(59) Ditto:
"This approach to litigation has little to do with enabling public scrutiny of the legal process, or enhancing the due administration of justice. Indeed, in some respects it tends to impede both fairness and transparency. This will be a judge-alone trial, not a trial by jury. But to fight proceedings in court and through litigation PR or sensational reporting at one and the same time is not designed to enhance understanding of the legal process. For a party to file and immediately publicise prejudicial and partisan characterisations of the other’s litigation conduct in the media before a hearing certainly does not assist. Equally, the defendant’s coverage of this litigation has provided readers with a good deal of information about the claimant, her views and her attitudes towards the Royal family, which is no doubt interesting to the public, but it has done relatively little to provide insight into the “workings of the law”.  The coverage has selectively highlighted aspects of the defendant’s case and features of the claimant’s case that are novel and interesting to the public. The focus is on sensational reporting of information that happens to be contained in the claimant’s statements of case. There are references to to the proceedings, but some of these involve speculation about what disclosure might be given, and who might or might not be a witness."
(60) ANL haven't explained convincingly why it is necessary to name 5F. In Warby's judgment "at this stage", public disclosure would have little value as there is no guarantee that any of 5F will be winesses.
(61) Confidentiality can enhance freedom of expression or protect a whistle-blower from attack. In this case 5F sought to defend MM from hostile media coverage, and their anonymity not only protected them from adverse consequences but also increased the information available to the public about MM. (LOL, try disinformation! It was mostly lies and we all knew it!)
(62) "At this stage", continued anonymity is fine by Warby, as it upholds the agreement made with People and shields 5F from the "glare of publicity". However, "at trial, that is a price that may have to be paid in the interests of transparency." Disclosure could "undermine fairness and due process". Press articles can be misleading and inaccurate, citing a press article about JM and whether a "named individual" will still back MM in court after their recent falling out; this is the sort of pressure 5F would be under were their identities revealed.
(63) For these reasons Warby grants the application.
(64) Other things Warby is not prepared to address at this time.
The form of order
(65) These orders will remain in place until trial or further order. They will be kept under review, and re-considered at the Pre-Trial Review. Changes will be made as required in the light of changing circumstances.

In my 50's now and still enjoy being mentored. "It's not that there aren't great people to help our journey, the problem is we don't ask!" -Amie Peacock I met John in 2014 here in Vancouver, and in our brief meeting I told him that I'd love to learn from him and his approach to community building based on ABCD. I emailed him in January 2022 and never expected he would be available or open to? Be courageous and ask.
