I think I have to check out Footloose, as The Breakfast Club is unironically a good movie. Started rewatching yesterday and was compelled to keep watching the whole thing!

this is not me trying to defend nintendo's business practices or say that either of these games don't have flaws, but I think a lot of the comparisons people are making between breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom are a little unfair and don't really take into account that they are different games with different purposes.
"breath of the wild feels so empty compared to tears of the kingdom" ... yeah? with breath of the wild, one of the game's main themes was isolation. you wake up in the future far after the apocalypse you were trying to prevent has already settled. you have no memories, very little strength. just like hyrule, just like zelda, all you have is your will to continue. breath of the wild is the quiet moments, the secret spaces, the weight of the world that has continued to turn without you still resting on your shoulders.
tears of the kingdom is not like that. hyrule is no longer the wild. it is no longer quiet and lonely. there's community. every sidequest is intertwined. your friends fight alongside you. this isn't "fixing" breath of the wild, this is it's natural continuation. as time goes on the world continues to heal and rebuild. if breath of the wild was clawing hope, tears of the kingdom is direct action.
like yeah there are things tears is doing better and (imo) things breath of the wild did better. but i don't think either one is a replacement for the other.

Wacky little thought, but what if this movie had an actual impact on 'Hikaru's feelings for Yoshiki and how he acts towards him?
He's so upset at the plight of this woman who gets treated by her husband as if she's completely replacable, and he goes on to fully dedicate himself to Yoshiki, shaping himself, learning human morals and mannerisms, making extreme sacrifices for and letting himself be hurt by him both mentally and physically. Choosing Yoshiki time and time again. The complete opposite of the man in the movie.
This idea first came to me because of the "you're a demon in the flesh" line. It seems just a bit too pointed to be meaningless.

It's genuinely really funny that conservatives for like no reason decided to latch onto Sydney Sweeney and make her their new darling and then within a few weeks her new movie dropped and it's the most pro choice anti Christianity thing you could imagine.
So we got some reactions like this:
Which are VERY funny because it assumes that movies only take like two weeks to make?? It also assumes that Sweeney has no say in what roles she takes and the 'Libs' forced her into this role against her will.
However doing any amount of research on this movie whatsoever you find out that Immaculate is Sweeney's movie. She's the entire reason it got made in the first place.
And now the offical Twitters for Immaculate and the production company who made Immaculate are using the above Tweet as marketing:

I want an anime re-do of the entire final arc not only for better animation quality reasons but also just because they didn't put this panel in
It's a fairly standard manga technique sure but the complete HALT in the scene's previous erratic momentum and noise is spectacular to me.
Bakura's intrusion and the battle with the six high priests going in all fucking directions, everyone's yelling, everything's moving, monsters and life forces are wrecking each other; the pages are busy, loud, chaotic, wide. You can then spot Atem walking in the midst of it, uncaring of the shouts, not even looking at the creatures, because he's been back in his actual body and in this world made out of his forgotten memories for less than an hour and he's just realized that that's his father's corpse being unceremoniously trampled on the ground (the first real memory of his family he been able to recall in thousands and thousands of years) and at the end of that path there's a single, decisive yet comparatively minuscule panel in the corner of the action, all white and empty except for a bubble of him stating simply "Move." (you don't even see him say it) and the immediate next page is That.
Abrupt silence.
A complete stop.
You can almost hear the shove with no explicitly written sound effects just from how quiet everything is.
It's a small gesture but in a series where aside from the starting volumes and some specific later occasions, most conflict has become something carried out by standing several meters across from each other and at most throwing illusionary beams at people, the return to a tangible physicality and personal humanity of it makes it stand out a lot. There will be time to summon the literal Gods later; right now you've disrespected my father, so get out of the fucking way. Let me carry him. Let me look at him.

DARIUS DUTIFUL DAY- Continuation.
[There's animated discussing on what the best decision would be, unable to make a decision the crew wispers loudly their calls].
A compsognathus jumps out from the old camp debris, making Darius jump out of his thougths; his head was sligthly buzzing.
Folding the map back up he walked up to the others, who in the meantime had woken up and started making breakfast with the little food they had.
"Darius! Want to eat something?"
"No thanks, Sammy, i already grabbed a few peaches earlier."
"Have you thought of what we should do with that?" Yasmina pointed at the bending support, while also massaging her ankle. Darius rubbed the back of his head.
"Yeah, I was thinking of it." He felt everyone eyes on him. Waiting for his decision. For him telling them what to do. To know if they had to leave camp. He was the leader after all.
"We are going to search again between the debris here-"
"But we already took everything useful are you sure there still something to look for." Kenji interrupted. Darius bit the inside of his cheek. Was that the wrong choice?
"Let him finish maybe." Brooklynn spoke, before nudging one hand for him to continue.
"So I was saying, we should look at the debris here for maybe some more nails to put the planks together, but for stronger supports i was thinking we should look at where the zipline is."
"Sounds good. I guess we should make groups so we can do it at the same time," brooklynn suggested.
Darius agreed.
[Last poll ended with a tie, so I took some liberties in deciding where darius will go, this time shorter one day poll to decide who he will go with!]
