“We are Hirogaru sky precure!” Chills, what a finale. Toei pulled out all the stops in this episode. A spectacle from start to finish. Storyboarding was amazing, the insert song during the climax fight was great and all of the scenes oozed sakuga. So many screenshot worthy scenes from this.

Loved Kaiserin fully rejecting Daijarg! Then that final attack scene was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. You really felt all the girls experiences, hopes and dreams in that!

In the end everyone got the best possible ending. Kaiserin is back in the undergu empire with 3 loveable idiots as her right hand men and a friendship between skyland and undergu that will last a very long time! So cute to see her making dolls again. That laugh at the end sounded like she did as a kid. Wish her dad was still around to see her all grown up tho 😢

Back in sorashido city, the waterworks were strong in this one. After a year of being together nonstop, being in different worlds is understandably daunting. Even though they can each other whenever, it’s still not quite the same as waking up and going to sleep with someone like Mashiro and Sora did. Their “goodbye”* was so beautiful “You really are a hero, Sora. So cool and strong” that’s gotta be awesome to hear from your bestfriend! Sora really has grown into a real life super hero. She’s confronted her weaknesses time and again and always overcome them!

Wish she would’ve given Mashiro a hug during that scene instead of just the handshake though lol. She was bawling her eyes out!

Tsubasa and Ageha goodbye was cute too. Ageha just can’t stop being a teacher 😂 even in that convo she’s motivating tsubasa to achieve his goals and become a sage.

Well they stressed how they were still connected by a tunnel, wasn’t expecting to see them come back the very next day after all those emotional goodbyes lmao. But cute nonetheless. I’m glad everyone can remain connected and continue growing!

Sora is now to other little girls what the captain was to her, a shining example to follow. Really cool post credits scene.

So this was my first precure. I watched otona pre while this was airing as well so I’ve now seen two. Love this series so much. May be aimed at little girls but it doesn’t mean I, as a grown ass man can’t have fun with and appreciate it. Had a blast with this and I’m going to miss these girls so much 😢

As her alarm blared through the still morning air Chloe groaned loudly, burrowing further under the covers and deeper into the arms of the woman next to her.

“You could turn it off first...” Beca grumbled as she wound her arms around Chloe, “It’s so loud...”

“Supposed to wake you up...” Chloe mumbled, face pressed into Beca’s neck as she tried to hide from the noise, “Don’t want to...”

Beca was still grumbling as her hand reached blindly for Chloe’s phone, finally able to silence the alarm and sighing heavily in the now silent room.

“We have to get up.” She looked down at Chloe who had, in the process of Beca reaching to silence the alarm, climbed on top of her and wrapped herself around her like a koala, “Our shift starts in an hour.”

“No...” Chloe pouted, clinging to Beca, “I want to stay here... I like our bed more than work.”

“Me too.” Beca chuckled, “But we have lives to save Chlo. God knows that ED would fall apart without you there to run it.”

“I know.” Chloe huffed, “I know, you’re right...”

“Say that again, I love hearing you say that.” Beca grinned as Chloe lifted her head, rolling her eyes heavily at Beca as she straddled her waist, hands either side of her head as her fiery hair cascaded down around them.

“You’re an idiot.” She murmured, eyes twinkling, “A loveable one, but an idiot nonetheless.”

“I’m your idiot.” Beca was still grinning as she pressed her lips into Chloe’s, “And you love that.”

Chloe simply kissed her back, deepening it as Beca’s hands ran into her hair, breaking apart reluctantly to catch her breath.

“You feeling better then?” Beca smirked, but Chloe could see the spark of concern in her eyes.

“Yeah.” Chloe nodded a little, forehead resting against Beca’s, “Yesterday was... it was really bad, it might be one of the worst days I’ve ever had in the ED. But having you there, being able to have you hold me when it was just getting too much for me? It reminded me that even on my worst days I have you to make me feel strong again. I wouldn’t get that in any other job.”

“Not unless you started dating a different coworker...” Beca cocked her eyebrow, a teasing smile on her face, “Although I’ve gotta say I might have a problem with that.”

“You’re such a dork.” Chloe giggled, shaking her head a little, “I love you.”

“I know.” Beca grinned, “Because I’m a hot piece of ass.”

“Emphasis on the ass...” Chloe cupped Beca’s face in her hands, kissing her deeply again.

What followed their blissful morning was, unfortunately, more of the day before. It seemed that tragedy was on the menu for New York lately, and their ED was the one carrying the brunt of it. They’d seen far more than their fair share of DOAs and hopeless cases, and it wasn’t just them that were feeling the strain of it. Patients were scared and snappy, relatives were angry and impatient, all of it was just a powder keg waiting to explode.

“Uh, Stacie you take four and six, Beca go with three and five, Bree-”

“She’s not here.” Stacie cut Chloe off with a soft frown, looking around the bustling ED, “She’s never not here, where did she go?”

“Meeting with the Chief?” Beca offered, eyebrow raising a little as she and Chloe shared a knowing look. Stacie and Aubrey may have agreed to be just friends, but they weren’t fooling anyone.

“No.” Chloe shook her head, “That got cancelled because we’re so busy... come to think of it, where’s Em?”

“I’m sure they’ll turn up, they’re probably busy with a patient somewhere, it’s a big hospital.” Beca rested her hand on Chloe’s arm, seeing the panic starting to swell inside her.

“Yeah.” Chloe nodded, expression a little tight, “Yeah you’re right. Okay, can you and Stace take another patient each then?”

“Of course.” Stacie smirked, “We got you Red.”

Chloe gave them a grateful smile as they disappeared to treat their patients, unable to shake the uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach. Something was wrong, her instinct was never off on this kind of thing, but she didn’t have time to set up a search party to find them. Patients were still rolling in and the numbers weren’t dwindling even a little. Beca was right, one way or another they’d turn up.

It wasn’t an hour later before Beca was proven right.

“I need help over here! Now!”

Beca stuck her head out of the treatment room she was in, the colour draining from her face as she saw Emily, and more importantly, saw who she was dragging with her.

“Oh shit...” Beca mumbled, racing forward just in time to catch Aubrey before Emily lost her grip on her. She wasn’t in great shape herself, but Aubrey looked like she’d gone three rounds against a pick up truck.

“She- she-” Emily was shaking as Stacie joined them, unable to drag her eyes from Aubrey as Beca shifted her in her arms, “They came out of n-nowhere with bats I-”

“It’s okay.” Stacie gently squeezed Emily’s shoulder even as her every instinct screamed at her to go to Aubrey, “You’re safe now. I need to take a look at you Em, you’re in rough shape, come on.”

“But Aubrey-”

“Beca’s got her.” Stacie reassured, half reassuring herself as well, “She’s got her, come on.”

Beca had barely been paying attention to their conversation as she tried to stir Aubrey, her friend barely conscious as her head lolled heavily against her shoulder.

“Hey, Posen.” Beca’s voice was gentle but insistent, shaking her shoulder a little as a gurney was rolled hastily towards them, “C’mon you pain in the ass, stay with me.”

“A-asshole.” Aubrey grunted softly, a smirk tugging at her swollen and bloody features as Beca lifted her onto the gurney, “You c-can’t even be nice when I’ve had the c-crap beaten out of me...”

“I pride myself on consistency.” Beca grinned, her hand taking Aubrey’s as they set off at a fast pace towards the trauma room, “I got you Posen, you’re okay now.”

“Emily...” Aubrey’s brow furrowed a little as she tried to get up, Beca gently pushing her down again, “Where is she?”

“Stacie’s with her in three.” Beca assured her, “She dragged you in here, you kind of owe the kid your life...”

“F-fine by me...” Aubrey mumbled, “They... they were trying to...”

“It can wait.” Beca shook her head, pushing an oxygen mask to Aubrey’s face with a calm insistence, “You’re breathing weird. Hold that there while I figure out why.”

Aubrey nodded sluggishly, her energy driven into holding the mask as Beca began her exam, Jessica and Amy at her side to help. She whimpered a little as Beca pressed her fingers into her ribs, Beca glancing up at her with an apologetic smile.

“Sorry Cap, you’ve broken a couple of ribs...” Beca murmured, lifting Aubrey’s scrub top and wincing in sympathy at the purple angry colour that stretched across her entire abdomen, “Hell you’ll be lucky if they’re not all broken. You really have a knack for pissing people off huh?”

The monitors began sound their warning alarms as Beca’s head whipped around her, frown deepening as they all exchanged worried looks. Beca watched Aubrey’s eyes flutter shut, heart leaping into her mouth as she shook her shoulder again.

“Aubrey? Hey, Aubrey, can you hear me?” Beca was having a difficult time keeping her rising panic from her voice. She pressed her knuckle against Aubrey’s sternum, rubbing hard and frowning deeper when there was little response from Aubrey beyond a grunt.

“Her sats are dropping.” Jessica bit her lip as she looked to Beca, “Her BP is rising, she’s in trouble.”

“Aubrey?” Beca shook her gently again, “Bree, c’mon, don’t do this to me. Do you know how bad my rep will tank if you die on me?”

The faintest of smiles tugged at Aubrey’s lips but before she could return a flip comment she began to cough hard, heaving a little as she did and coughing up blood down the front of Beca’s scrubs.

“Shit.” Beca was quick to move to Aubrey’s aid, watching in horror as Aubrey’s eyes closed and she went limp against the bed, “Someone bag her, let’s hang a unit of crossmatch, and get me that x-ray machine STAT!”

“Her sats are still falling...” Jessica shook her head as she operated the bag, “93... 89... Beca I think we need to intubate.”

“Yeah.” Beca nodded, “Yeah okay, someone get me a tray ready, once the x-ray is done we go, got it?”

There were murmurs of agreement as everyone stepped backwards, Beca quietly pulling Amy to one side.

“Get me her personnel file.” Beca whispered, her eyes meeting Amy’s, “I want to know what her advanced directive is.”

“It’s that bad?” Amy’s eyebrows shot into her hairline.

“Not yet.” Beca swallowed thickly, “But it could be.”

Amy nodded, ducking her head as she left the trauma bay, almost running into Chloe as she did. Chloe’s expression was full of fear as she tried to walk into the trauma room, but Beca quickly put herself between her and Aubrey, blocking her view as she gently pushed her out again.

“Get out of the way Beca, I need to see her, what happened to her?!” Chloe was irate as she struggled against Beca.

“No.” Beca shook her head a little, “You don’t want to see her like this. Trust me.”

“Becs, she’s my best friend-” Chloe started, eyes full of tears as she tried to get around Beca who was holding her wrists just tight enough to keep her in place without hurting her.

“I know.” Beca’s voice was quiet and a little shaky as she pursed her lips, “I know Chloe. Which is why I can’t let you come in. You know that I love that big beautiful heart of yours, but in there it’s going to stop me from being able to do my job properly, and I know you don’t want that.”

Chloe bit her lip as her gaze dropped from Beca’s eyes to her top, and the blood that was soaking through it, “Oh my god... is that-?”

“Go and help Stacie.” Beca pushed gently but insistently, “She and Em are in three, they need someone to ground them both a little. Can you do that?”

“I-”

“Nurse Beale.” Beca’s tone was sharp without being angry, snapping Chloe into focus as she finally dragged her eyes from the blood, “I need you to go and help out in Bay Three. Can you do that for me?”

“Yeah.” Chloe nodded slowly, “Yeah, I can do that.”

“I love you.” Beca smiled softly, “I’m doing everything I can.”

“I know.” Chloe smiled tightly, pulling away from Beca as she sniffed, trying to shift her mind to the task at hand, “Just... look after her, okay?”

“Always.” Beca nodded firmly, “Go, I got her.”

Chloe watched as Beca disappeared into the trauma room again, sliding the door shut behind her so Chloe couldn’t see inside. She hated this, but Beca was right. If she went in there to help, all her decisions would come from her heart, not her head, and Aubrey needed better than that right now. But her best friend was in pain, she was hurt, she needed her...

“Hey! I need some help in here!”

Chloe’s head whipped around in the direction of the call for help, her heart sinking like a lead weight as she saw the panic in Stacie’s features.

Okay so first of alll, how dare the universe give you a bad day like this, rude 😤 I will have a word with it & tell it that you only deserve wonderful days where you get to do fun things and feel good and rested and happy 💖💖

But!! The universe gets a pass sometimes bc they also brought us Chris & Sebastian 😭 And I was just thinking. Because I saw some AoU interviews and some other videos of Chris being a little wild/crazy/a big doofus again recently, and that just got me thinking. Both our boys can be idiots and say and do things that make me the personified “😂” emoji, but I think they need to feel comfortable to do that.

So I’m just imagining them meeting for the first time and Seb being so quiet, but Chris has seen some of his work and he’s seen him, and he desperately wants to make a good impression, because he really wants to be around this guy as much as possible, hopefully become friends.

Seb obviously knows about Chris, and he’s a little hesitant to be his own weirdo self, make the jokes he makes, share the out there interests he has, because you know, Chris is this cool, buff, legitimate movie star, and he doesn’t want Chris to think he’s crazy, or an idiot. So they dance around each other a little, slowly getting to know each other.

And then one day Chris says something ridiculous, or Seb does something weird, and they stare at each other for a moment, a little worried, and then just burst out into laughter, and they realize they don’t have to pretend with the other, they can just be themselves. Because the other gets them. They’re just as beautifully, wonderfully, weird.

And maybe Chris is a little softer with Seb, maybe Seb is a little more outgoing with Chris, than they usually are around most of their friends. But that’s not pretending to be someone else, that’s not pretending to be normal (because normal is overrated), that’s just how they bring things out in each other. And it’s the best, because it makes them so well balanced, makes them so good together.

And I can just imagine Seb rolling his eyes a little when Chris gets up to his frat boy antics, but with a loving smile, because he can’t believe that idiot is his. And Chris crying with laughter when Seb does or says something weird, feeling so light, and so happy that Seb doesn’t hold back with him.

Anyway. These are some rambling thoughts. Hopefully they make you smile 🥰 I love youuu to the moon and back 💖💖💖💖

Mayaaaaaaaaaaa 😭😭😭😭 I just love you so much, and I love them so much, and I love how much you love them so much too 💖💖💖💖💖 Thinking about these two will never fail to make me feel better, so I am so grateful for you coming into my inbox to talk about them today of all days 🥺

And all of this? It's perfect. I think about how silly they are all the time as well, Chris with his self-deprecating humour and his bro-ness, and Sebastian being a total dork and a weirdo (affectionate) and the fact that they can be so silly only makes them more wonderful. If they were just super hot and talented, they'd be waaaayyy too intimidating. So the fact that they can have fun too and don't take themselves too seriously only makes them more human and therefore more loveable 🥰

And I love your idea about how that's true for the way they feel about each other as well! Once they find out that the other is kind of an idiot sometimes, it's even harder not to fall for them 🥺Just the idea of Sebastian watching fondly as Chris slips into that Bostonian accent when he talks about football with his friends back home and makes a fool of himself, and Chris cracking up when Sebastian dances around the kitchen brandishing a wooden spoon as a microphone and then bumping his head against the lamp, I mean 😭💖 And what you said about how they're still a little different around each other, but not in a posing kinda way, but just because the other brings out this other side of them, aaaahhhh, I'm so soft for that 🥺🥺🥺

So yes, basically everything you said, I agree, I love it, I love you, and love them 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you so much for this, my dearest Maya!! You're a gem and I adore you, thank you for loving our beautiful little idiots as much as I do 😘

I'm really falling in love with your Squid x Soap fics. What was your inspiration for her? She's such a beautifully well-rounded character, it's almost impossible not to empathize her. I always enjoy a good ramble from a creators point of view on a character, and Squid is really peeking my interests. Thanks darlin, much love 💛🦑🧼

awww my little squidie. she’s the most like me of all the people i’ve written—but a lot stronger and more confident for sure. i think when i was writing her i channeled more of my anxiousness into her than i have done previously? and then to balance that, i added snark and sarcasm… which again, comes natural to me 😂. and then she just began forming around this idea i had that soap needed someone who would both ground him and push him to think more. she wouldn’t ask that of him, but she would be there, nestling in the back of his head as a reminder he has something to not immediately throw himself into danger for. which was important for his character in my eyes?

she comes from a similar place to him in that she’s a loveable puppy. she prefers everyone to have a great time, so she’ll stuff things down. but, her difference is that she knows when she needs to stop, she just struggles to. her finding little ways amongst the group to seek that out. it’s why i wanted to have her have someone who is legit just a friend, and gaz seemed the best option. their relationship i have a ton of notes on too, cause i wanted that to be so concrete before i began writing squid, as it becomes the foundation for much of who she is.

i also make all of my characters very willing to be themselves. whether that is that they need a cuddle, that they wanna fuck their feelings or they want to be angry at the world. and with squid, i wanted to take it a step further and have her debate what to do with the feelings she had. how do i turn it up a thousand to make the two of them just… be complete idiots for one another without seeing it. if any of this makes any sense? 🦑

Here with a fluffy prompt request!! Can we get a wandanat X reader fic where R is the loveable golden retriever type girlfriend and a little ditzy but in a good way. She decides to play Tag with Pietro and Lena and her hiding spot just happens to be the Quin Jet. So she finds a cozy hiding spot but then Lena and Pietro get distracted and forget they're playing tag and R gets bored and tired of waiting so she falls asleep. Well Wanda and Nat get called to a short mission and have to leave fast they tell Pietro/Lena to tell R and that they love her. Then Piet/Lena are all like 😳....so they start to s arch for R and can't find her, Steve finally catches on and makes the pair call the redheads just for them to scold the two and head back to the compound. So everyone is searching for R and she just pops up after her well needed nap and is eating a carrot, rest her arm on Bruce's shoulder and is like "what's up doc?" (Bugs Bunny always did it best!). Yeah super long winded, I'm sorry!! But I love when R is a little shit lols 😂

Real anime is back let’s gooo. How I’ve missed UY. It feels like the production quality is even better this season. David Prod cooked in the first season, but the animation feels even smoother now.

Maisondes as usual cooked with the OP and ED, sadly no Minami feature this time around. Visuals are great for the ED in particular

Right back where we left off with this loveable group of idiots. The recap sesh was definitely welcome after 9 months and I love how they integrated it into the episode.

First skit with the bubble gum that could create whatever you were thinking about was great. Seeing versions of the girls who act in totally opposite ways was hilarious, especially nurse Sakura’s clone that was giving the boys a tease 😂. Love how Ataru is just on the roof in Buddha meditation the whole time

“Don’t mind that it’s just some noise pollution” lmaoo dude Ataru is such an asshole. The whole forgetting how to speak Japanese skit was great, but if you think about it, Ataru and Lum are kinda always on different wavelengths even when they’re both speaking the same language.

As usual, Ataru doesn’t appreciate what he has with Lum until he can’t talk to her anymore. Cute ending with him hugging her and crying over not being able to speak to her. You answered so many questions already, but how about 2, 3 and 37 for the writing ask game?

Little fun fact! I started writing fics as a teen (mostly for Percy Jackson) and then stopped, thinking I'd lost my drive or muse or whatever. And then I watched Young Royals... and now I can't stop writing haha.

Even better, I never wrote a singular multichapter fic (that I actually thought I could finish) before Young Royals. And the start of a multichapter was the very first fic I posted in this fandom 😂

2. Is there a trope you've yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I am so glad you asked this cause this is the one i wanted to answer most. Cause I've been watching One Day (like the rest of the world) and though the romance is good, I guess, the thing that intrigues me most about it is the storytelling. Every episode is just one day, one day a year, and somehow it manages to let you know exactly what happened in the 364 days before that episode, where the characters are standing now in their life and their feelings, they make it make SENSE somehow (I'm not feeling like I'm missing anything) and they move the plot along. in the space of 30 minutes per episode. which is incredible, and I maybe want to try and write something like that.

There's also a dark academia fic that I maybe want to write, but with other ideas I've had it has sadly been shoved to the bottom of my stack

3. Is there a trope you woudn't touch with a ten foot pole?

surprise pregnancy as a way to keep the main couple together.

37. Talk about your current WIPs

I feasibly can't talk about ALL of them. that is way too much. But here's the ones that I'm most excited for:

Suburban Legends (6/?) : like I said, this is the first multichapter I've ever posted that I am 100% sure about I'm going to finish. I've never had an idea that was strong enough to make it into a multichapter until this one, in fact I never wrote a fic longer than 2.5k words before this and the wordcount in my doc is 40k at the moment. The way I think about this fic daily is unhealthy, but I love it. They're both a little bit oblivious idiots, it's wasn't meant to be angsty but in hindsight, I don't know how I thought I could have them be exes and also have it fluffy, but there's so many good things to come I'm !!!!

(working title) See The Stars, See How They Shine For You: inspired by none other than Omar at the Oscars. Former Crown Prince of Sweden attends the Oscars (or some other award show, I'm not set on it yet) and meets Simon, who works there as an usher of sorts. Simon is very annoyed with him (why is a prince at this award show) but that quickly changes when he realizes what a loveable idiot Wille is. Banter and fluff galore I am so so excited for it

and one that I started this week and wrote 3k words for in one night: (untitled). (aka i had a title but realized that title was already taken BUT). Wille never chased after Simon in that final scene. Though he abdicated a year later, they never saw each other again. Until Simon finds a letter in his mom's attic, and reaches out. It's so angsty already and I love it

(and there's a bunch of one-shots I have planned, like their first labour day together and wille's 18th birthday where Simon makes up for the shitshow that was the previous year. someone needs to take word away from me lol)
