Much love to the cities of Flint & Detroit for once again blessing us with some of the best rap music of the year. The big disappointment this year was the goat Rio Da Yung OG starting a 4-year firearms sentence in June yet still he did more in 6 months of freedom this year than most rappers do in their entire careers. He left us with “Last Day Out” which is the best and saddest song of the year where he raps about how he isn’t and also is scared of sitting down. Let’s hope we use the next few years to catch up to and celebrate his tremendous output from the last 2-3 years and that he comes home in a helicopter looking like Gucci Mane.
Some of the vets are still here but 2019 staples like Sada Baby, FMB DZ & Teejayx6 are nowhere to be found. I mean I probably should have a Sada track on here but I’m also struggling to think of a song of his that I’ve missed. There were also no big hits like last year’s “Coochie”, “Movie”, “Slide” or “Wack Jumper” but even if the peaks were lower this year, things have spread out wider with newcomers and sophomores alike stepping up, and the Flint sound in particular is spreading across the midwest and throughout the country.
Jugg Harden is rookie of the year, in 2 years Grindhard E went from the drank man to being up there with the top dogs, Babytron grew his hair out and elevated his whole swag although his best songs are still collabs, YSR ditched the bellowing for a smoother in the pocket flow just a few months ago and it’s paid off handsomely, YN Jay stopped doing coochie songs and now mostly asks questions in his raps, the Flint rappers continued their fuck-up style up until April when they took it to the most extreme end on the bonkers “Indiana Jones”. Overall it was another great year for Michigan rap.

Mysterylover Watches MHA Episode 99 “That’s a Wrap (Get it, cause binding cloth”
1. OK now we’re at the conclusion! The Joint training Arc is wrapping up with a big brawl scene.
2. Deku vs Shinsou: The Rematch. Aizawa of course is all like “Gotta let my son fight and beat his rival”
3. Interesting that they animated Deku as looking back at Uraraka when he says he’s gonna fight quirkless; he’s looking forward in the Manga, focused on his goal. Which again maks me think they read my post.
4. I can hear a new remix of YSR on the soundtrack!!!! It’s an Epic Badass Fight Version. Not quite as good as the “Epic Musical Love Protection Song” version that was Might U but still, nice to have a new remix!
5. Mineta almost has a cool moment but ruins it with perversion. But at least we get some KiriMina fanboying in the bargain. And in the SAME SCENE we get Bakugou’s long pensive worried look at Deku.
6. Monoma gets lots of epic lines here. And they actually animate The Trinity as the Protagonists in his speech, because of coures they are.
7. You know if Deku would just team up with Ochako more, they’d be a pretty unstoppable team. Anyway, Deku vs Shinsou Part 2. It’s on.
8. OOH and the YSR mix also has a remix of Bakugou’s theme?! ARe they combined in one again! The new remix of Deku and Kacchan’s theme songs? And it’s playing while Deku fights Shinsou again?!
9. Deku gets all inspired by All Might once more and uses Blackwhip, yay! (ooh boy, only the tip of the iceberg, Deku powers wise.)
10. GOOD GOD this music is epic. Ooh, it’s ALL MIGHT’S THEME. OK This was a combo of all three. The main cast. And we get an insert shot of Bakugou watching this bit? Hm, interesting.
11. Monoma and Ochako have a history of fighting - Monoma was the one who narrated her plan during her fight with Bakugou, he thinks she’s a worthy opponent. I need this crackship to somehow become a thing. I mean, Ochako already has one power-copying blonde love interest...
12. We get a recap of Deku’s plan and Uraraka dumps helping him as per instructions to go help the others. It’s interesting that Deku often splits apart from her when they team up. In fact, thinking back I think Deku has only teamed up 2 v1 directly with three other characters: Todoroki (Hero Killer Arc), Bakugou (to fight All Might and later Shigaraki), and Eri (kind of, vs Overhaul).
13. Ochako and Mina get an epic fight and some truly epic music to go with it. And then dvS. Also, I’m wondering - which ARc in MHA has the most badass Lady Fighter Moments? I’d say it’s a draw between this, the Sports Festival, and the PLF arc.
14. Deku and Kacchan were the only 1A leaders to COMPLETELY DOMINATE. Best Duo, no contest. Literally.
15. SHINSOU FEELS. + Triumphant music I am ON CLOUD 9 RIGHT NOW. Anyway Deku gives his usual lame excuse for his powers and everyone buys it. Anyway we get Bakugou close-ups and All Might close-ups while he talks to remind us of who ACTUALLY knows.
16. So many Deku and Shinsou feels rn. Anyway Uraraka gets her teachers’ approval for her hard work, which would be a lot more fun if Mina didn’t decide to make it about her and Deku. Dammit can’t Uraaka do something cool without the ladies around her forcing it to be about dating?!
17. Anyway AIZAWA flashes back to her “I want to save people” moment, so we refocus things then. Anyway, more Shinsou feels.

Big Disarray: Ray Garraty’s Year in Rap Music
A prison sentence might be just as successful in ending a career of a young artist as death (although leaving a slim chance of recovery). In April the Flint underground legend Rio da Yung OG was convicted and sentenced to five years in federal prison on a bum rap. An alleged small mistake in the past was turned into a trophy case when prosecutors still continue to employ an infamous trick using rap lyrics as evidence.
While Rio managed to record an enormous amount of songs and a plentiful features before they locked him up, it caused a major disruption. His imprisonment left the Michigan rap scene with its knickers down, confused and unsure of what to do next. The biggest regional wave of 2020 died down rapidly. Rio’s songs continued to flow even after he went to jail, but Detroit and Flint had very little to show for themselves in the first three quarters of the year. Collaborations went downhill, and solo careers didn’t amount to much. Sada Baby, FMB DZ and Cash Kidd either didn’t put out new music or released mediocracies. YSR Gramz and GrindHard E showed significant improvement, yet hardly changed the game. Peezy, after coming home from prison, dropped a disappointing album. Icewear Vezzo with his Rich Off Pints and Rich Off Pints 2 found his niche, but it’s far from revolutionary.
So the first three quarters of the year, the Michigan rap was dragging behind his last year’s success and, more importantly, California scene. Young Slo-Be and Mac J dropped their hardest tapes, while Cashclick Boog continued to release the coldest cuts, solo and in collaborations.
But the final months turned the tables, quite unexpectedly. BandGang Lonnie Bands outdid himself with the H2K on the Way EP (and less focused Hard 2 Kill LP), Rio dropped Fiend Lives Matter EP from behind bars, and Louie Ray, after a string of mediocre solo CDs, gave us his best yet, Still Unsigned. It’s hard to say now if the Michigan scene finally has found a solid ground after the disruption, or it was just a contingency, and the Detroit/Flint rap as event will not recover. As they say, there is a great disorder under the Heavens and the situation is excellent. Who knows?
Disappointment of the year: Roc Marciano produced albums (Bronze Nazareth’s Ekphrasis and Flee Lord’s Delgado). Roc Marci hasn’t put an album this year but he singlehandedly produced two for Bronze Nazareth and Flee Lord. Both artists are hopelessly boring on any beat, so Marci’s efforts have been wasted. He says he has the best ear in hip hop. He better check his hearing before he produces another CD for an artist with a lack of talent.
Best EP of the year: Nuez x Rio Da Yung OG’s Life of a Yung Og. Rio linked up quite suddenly with a Southern producer Nuez who made Rio rap over early Scarface-like beats. The result was Rio’s most personal tape this year.
Old Man Rap of the year: Soulful Distance by Devin the Dude. Almost unsurpassable achievement: during his 30 years in hip hop Devin’s never put out a bad CD. Soulful Distance is jammed with ironic witticisms and jokes about younger generations of rap artists, too focused on money and designer clothes.
Non-Rap album of the year: Awakening Of Nordic Storm by Diaboli. Nothing revolutionary or trendy or even for a bit experimental here. Just one of the ugliest, dirtiest, unfriendliest pieces of music released in 2021 from these Finnish barbarians. For a new Covid-like plague of woke black metal, this is a true cure.

படத்தின் கதை
சிவா வேலையில்லா கவலையற்ற ஓர் வாலிபன். ஒரு நாள் சிவா வேலை போடும் போது சாருலதா என்ற பெண்ணை பார்த்ததும் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு பின் தொடர்கிறான். தனது நண்பனை அழைத்துச் செல்ல காரில் காத்திருக்கும் போது, பதட்டமான நிலையில் சாருலதா அவளின் மாமாவுடன் தன்னை சென்னைக்கு அழைத்து செல்லுமாறு கேட்கிறாள். உற்சாகத்தில் சிவா சம்மதிக்க, பெட்ரோல் நிரப்பும் போது தன் மாமாவை விட்டு விட்டு காரை ஓட்டுமாறு கேட்கிறாள். அதன் பின் மும்பைக்கு செல்ல முடியாததால், தன்னை காரில் அழைத்துச் செல்ல முடியுமா என கேட்க, சிவா உடனே தலையை ஆட்டுகிறான். தொலைதூர பயணம், பேசியே தனது காதலை வளர்க்க முயற்சிக்கிறான்.
இதற்கிடையில் இரண்டு கும்பல் அவர்களை துரத்துகிறது. அந்த கும்பலின் பின்னனி என்னவென இருவரும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறார்கள். மும்பை வந்ததும் சிவாவின் நண்பன் உதவி மூலம் சாருலதா உறவினரின் வீட்டை கண்டறிந்து சேர்க்கிறான். சோகமாக திரும்பும் சிவா, மீண்டும் சாலையில் தயங்கி நிற்கும் சாருவை பார்க்கிறான். தனது பெற்றோரை பற்றி தவறாக பேசியதால் வெளிவந்ததாக கூற மீண்டும் பெங்களூர்க்கு திரும்புகிறார்கள். வழியில் சிவாவின் நண்பர்கள் பார்த்து, சிவாவிற்கு சாருவின் மீதான காதலை மிகைப்படுத்த, அவளிற்கும் பயணத்தின் போது சிவா மீது ஈர்ப்பு இருந்ததாக கூறி இணைவதே கதை.
படத்திற்கு பெரிய பலம் கார்த்தியின் யதார்த்தமான நடிப்பும், கதையை நார்த்தும் கருப்பு நிற காரும் அதற்கேற்ற பின்னனி இசையும். பெங்களுரு - மும்பை வந்தது தூரமா தெரில, அவள வீட்ல விட்டுட்டு ரோட்டுக்கு தான் வந்துருக்கன் ரொம்ப தூரமா தெரியுதுன்னு சொல்லும் போது வர்ற பின்னனி இசை நம் மனதையும் உருக்கும்.
ஆரம்பத்தில் குதிரை என்று பெயரிட, அதன் பின் இது பையா என மாறியது. அவாரா என்ற பெயரில் ஒரு தெலுங்கு டப்பிங்கிலும், இந்தியில் ஆக்ரி பாஸி என்றும் வெளி வந்தது.

YSR Congress Party leaders on Wednesday inaugurated the newly launched ambulances with service numbers 104 and 108 for service in East Godavari and Rajahmundry city of Andhra Pradesh. However, while welcoming the ambulances, the ruling party workers violated social distancing norms implemented to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Here I am still coming through with these Michigan rap round-ups even though I promised to take a break back in January. There’s too much sauce to not dip my spatula in, even if this scene peaked higher last year and is currently suffering from the incarceration of the 2019-2020 rap god Rio Da Yung OG. The claustrophobic highly compressed Enrgy bangers from yesteryear have pretty much been replaced with subtler but still sinister beats. The bpm’s are still up there; check the Bro Chill-Please Stop Rappin run in the center of this playlist, which is bookended by suggestions from anu (WTM Scoob’s “Tour The World” is one of the years’ best full lengths that was somehow not on my radar) & snitchycoon who hipped me to the lone Bay area joint.
Also disappearing are the collabos and posse cuts which may also be the Rio effect as he had a way of uniting rappers in and out of Flint. Even in the videos the rappers seem to be by themselves. Louie Ray kills the Millyanaire song & video but where are the YN Jay or RMC Mike cameos? He’s alone in the woods! And now that he and TeeJayx6 are fighting, I don’t think Kasher Quon has any friends! But even without these things the songs are still the brief chorus-less spice-talking bangers that we loved last year. You get to hear the always solo AK Bandamont say “doggy” 25 times on “Not Them” but somehow stopped saying ‘jazzy” which had disappeared for 20 years but I think now is Grand rapids-specific slang that I was hoping would catch on again.

You know, most of my family are music types like Jirou, so when I read this part in the manga, it made me tear up. It’s so freaking touching and interesting to think about. (Also is there a reason Jirou mom looks and acts like Momo?)

This. Right here. This is why we need/love MHA. Because helping an abused little girl smile is worth devoting 14 chapters/6 episodes of time to.
Though as much as I love seeing Eri smile, I’ll admit seeing Bakugou smiling so much this season/arc hits me too. In a similar way. Cause both Eri and Kacchan were kidnapped by villains and cried/traumatized by it, after all. (and Shoto was also abused by dad. Eri Shoto and Kacchan really need to start a “I was abused by assholes but then Deku saved me and made me happy again” club.)
Ah man i was hoping they’d come up with more stuff for Class B’s play! But oh well, who wants filler anyway.

This little having fun montage is so amazing and sweet. Todoroki’s serious Face sticking out of this standee is the icing on the cake.

And with that the Culture Fest arc is a wrap! Wow, they didn’t pad that out with anything at all, did they? No filler, no slow pacing. Just shot straight through the entire arc. Now that it’s over, though, what’re they planning to do in the last 2 episodes of Season 4?! No way they can get through the Pro Hero Arc in just 2 episodes, short as it may be. Are they planning on doing filler?
Nope! the trailer says. Next episode we’re jumping right into that Pro Hero arc! Which either means we’ll drag out the first few chapters, or we’re gonna end season 4 (MANGA STUFF) right smack dab in the middle of EndeavorHawks vs High End. Um. OK. You do you I guess.
So that’s the end of the Culture Festival Arc! While I wish they’d picked a song I knew, gotta say it was fun to see. And to repeat as ever, that I love BNHA, and this arc is lovely. It’s great to spend some time on the MCs having fun, and emphasizing the importance of making Eri happy.
I don’t mean to get “of the times”, but I gotta say right now I really wish we could have something like this...a small, contained event of fun. All the paranoia and fear floating around right now, with everything getting cancelled, reminds me of the atmosphere these days...Villains, viruses, either way. Stuff gets cancelled and the world gets scared. And a little controlled event like this, like BNHA’s culture festival arc, with the proper security measures taken, could be just the ticket. Ah well. For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with watching BNHA, and letting it as always put that smile on our faces.

#யாரடிநீமோகினி (2008)
பல முறை அடித்து துவைத்த ஒன்லைன் கதையை, கதாபாத்திரம் கொண்டும் திரைக்கதையின் காட்சியமைப்பை கொண்டும் வெற்றி பெற்ற திரைப்படம் ஏராளம். அப்படி வெற்றியை சூடிய திரைப்படம் இது.
படத்தின் கதை
வாசு வேலையில்லாத பட்டதாரியாக வலம் வருகிறான். ஒரு நாள் கீர்த்தி என்ற பெண்ணை பார்த்ததும் காதலில் விழுகிறான். அவள் வேலை செய்யும் அதே அலுவலகத்தில் போராடி வேலையை வாங்குகிறான். ஒரு கட்டத்தில் தன் காதலை அவளிடம் சொல்ல, அவனை நிராகரிக்கிறாள். அவளுடைய திருமணம் மாமாவின் மகனுடன் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. மனமுடைந்த வாசு தன் தந்தையிடம் கூற, அவன் தந்தை கீர்த்தியிடம் தன் மகனின் காதலை விவரிக்கிறான். கோவப்படும், கீர்த்தி தற்செயலாக வாசுவையும், அவனது தந்தையையும் அறைகிறாள். இதனால் அவன் தந்தை இறந்து விட, மன அழுத்தத்தில் இருக்கும் வாசுவை, அவனது நண்பன் சீனு தனது கிராமத்திற்கு அழைத்து செல்கிறான்.
பயணத்தின் போது, கீர்த்தி சீனுவின் வருங்கால மனைவி என்பதை அறிகிறான். கிராமத்தில் பல நிகழ்வுகளுக்கு பிறகு கீர்த்தி வாசுவை காதலிப்பதை உணர்ந்து வாசுவிடம் தெரிவிக்க, வாசு மறுக்கிறான் இதனையறிந்த சீனு, திருமணத்தின் போது உண்மையை குடும்பத்தினரிடம் தெரிய வைக்கிறான். அதன் பின் கீர்த்தியும் வாசுவும் எவ்வாறு ஒன்றினைந்தார்கள் என்பதே மீதி கதை.
படத்திற்கு பெரிய பலம் கதாபாத்திரங்கள் தேர்வு, 2 நிமிடம் வரும் குழந்தை முதல் அனைத்து கதாபாத்திரமும் அருமை. தனுஷின் அட்டகாசமான நடிப்பும், ரகுவரனின் அலட்டல் இல்லாத வருகையும், அழகிய மோகினி நயன்தாராவும் கூடுதல் பலம். இது, ரகுவரன் இறப்பதற்கு முன் அவரது கடைசி படம். யுவனின் பெஸ்ட் ஆல்பத்துல இந்த படமும் ஒன்னா இருக்கும். காட்சிகளின் அழகியலை இசையின் மூலம் கடத்தியிருப்பார்.
செல்வராகவன் இயக்கிய 2007 தெலுங்கு ஹிட் ஆதாவரி மாதலகு அர்த்தலே வெருலின் ரீமேக் இது. யுவனின் இசையும் கிட்டத்தட்ட அதே பாடகர்களுடன் இந்தியில் பிர் ஆயா தீவானா என்று டப்பிங் செய்யப்பட்டது.
