Roll up! Roll up! It's that time of year again: the nights are longer, it's all feeling colder, and the shops are all trying to sell you stuff. But here in the Sanctuary side of fandom, it's the start of the festive fic exchange!

Do you like writing fic?

Do you like reading fic?

Do you like putting unnecessary stress on yourself to make a wonderful gift for someone, just to have half of the fandom turn around and say, "Aaaaaaah, that's exactly what I needed to read right now?"*

Then this is the fic exchange for you! Today's post is the sign up post. Under the cut will be a list of questions. All you have to do is send me either a DM or an ask with your completed questionnaire then wait for your match!

This is open to anyone in the Sanctuary fandom, regardless of character/shipping preferences. When it comes to fic length, the minimum is 300 words. I don't really wanna give a max (because I know how the muse can get sometimes), but if we cap it around the 2k words mark that should be cool.***

I'll be posting a link to this around the place (and reblogging again this evening for the later crew), and you are more than welcome to message/contact me with any questions, queries or concerns.

how many times have just Daniel and o'neill died in sg1, while will from sanctuary only died once and was like "I can't sleep.... I came back Wrong.... I should've stayed dead.... am I even me anymore...." and then was fine after he took a nap like sir you didn't Come Back Wrong you're sleep deprived

seriously though I've lost count of how many times Daniel and Jack have died.

I googled it and six doesn't seem like a big enough number this man has died A LOT I wonder if this isn't counting like alternate universes or the books

Platonic Helen + Will Flower Shop AU? (And Happy New Year to you!)

Her brow lifts just slightly when he walks in (in years to come he will grow to recognize that as her version of shock, but for now, it is only a ghost of a look, there and gone in a heartbeat). "How can I help you?"

His heart is heavy, twisted up like it always is this time of year, and grief fogs his thoughts. "Yes, I'm looking for a few-" There's a movement he sees from the corner of his eye, and he instinctively turns toward it, only to see nothing but rows and rows of plants. "... Roses."

"Roses. Yes. Of course." He's not quite sure what to make of her tone. "One moment, please."

He nods, then scans the room absently, an unsettled feeling creeping up his spine. Something is not right. He can't quite put his finger on it, but it's a feeling he cannot shake.

These flowers... He's never seen anything like them. Granted, he's not exactly a flower expert, but there's nothing in this sea of color that's even remotely familiar. Some of them seem to sway, as if there's wind, but they're inside and even the A/C doesn't seem to be running. And a few of them are pointed toward him, almost like-

He shakes his head firmly, trying to shake the thoughts away at the same time. He's letting his mind run away with him; he always has, hasn't he? He just needs to get a few roses for his mother's grave, and-

"Achoo!"

...

He stops. Takes a deep breath. Blinks a few times, just to make sure he didn't imagine that, but nope, that flower definitely just sneezed.

It's still now, but he knows what he saw. He does.

... Doesn't he?

Feeling more than a little silly, he clears his throat. "Um. Bless you?"

The petals flutter. "Thank you!" It's a soft voice, almost melodic, and decidedly not human. Then, it gasps. "I'm sorry, I'm not supposed to talk to strangers. Hopefully I didn't scare you!"

Scared doesn't begin to cover it, and he's not altogether sure he hasn't completely lost his mind, but still, he manages a weak, "No, no, you're-you're fine. I just, uh-I just-what are you?"

"She's called Susan." A voice from behind him cuts in dryly. The shopkeeper, he notes absently, though she seems much calmer now, almost amused. "How you found us, I've no idea, but welcome to the Sanctuary."

I love this man.

I see Will as the type that knows who he likes and doesn’t really have a label for it that feels right to him so he’s unlabelled.

He’s had some relationships with men and women in his college years but nothing really felt too serious to him.

For the first few years after he realised that he was Queer he didn’t really feel comfortable coming out. The people he hung out with didn’t really respect him so he didn’t feel like they were the right people to tell. After he met everyone at the Sanctuary he felt more comfortable coming out as Queer.

He had a crush on Henry when he first met him and definitely felt close to him. Henry’s voice was the thing to calm him down when he was injected and changed. In my shippers heart they get together but unfortunately the show didn’t do that 😭

He gets frustrated when people say that he doesn’t seem queer when they find out. He knows that they’re stereotyping him and it makes him annoyed and uncomfortable.

He’s flustered when anyone is flirting with him.

The first person he came out to in the Sanctuary was Helen as he felt very connected to her and he felt she’d understand. Helen becomes protective of him after finding out but knows he can handle himself because he’s dealt with it every day his entire life but she will step in if he needs help.

Kate thinks it’s great because she’s bi and she can talk to him about stuff.

Henry is bi too and also eventually develops a crush on Will.

Everyone in that Sanctuary is Queer.
