SaL anon here a bit early bestie, ostensibly to wish us luck for tonight's LS episode which will finally give us a Grace storyline but is tragically coupled with yet another Owen's sex life storyline which I could not give a fuck about and OMG last night's episode was SO FUCKING GOOD!! Finally we were fed well with the Chim content, and he really did get to shine. Pairing him with Ravi, getting him to be the one to push Ravi back out there the way Bobby kind of did for him, I loved every second. We even got spoiled with some Buckley-Han family crumbs that were absolutely adorable!! Loved seeing Bobby desperately looking for criticism from his team and every one of them just noping out (again LOVED Chim finally giving in at the end with the "why don't you just tell us?!!"). I did appreciate that if they are determined to do this whole Nathaniel thing they're following through, though I'm a little 😒 at the way it was shoved in at the end). And God the Eddie "dating" stuff was so much better than I was expecting (ignoring the utter and complete lack of setup). Ryan's face the entire time was just priceless, if these aren't choices on his part like what are his scene notes?? Eddie looks at Buck *look like you're Cinderella and the prince just asked you to dance*. Eddie looks at or talks about a date *look somewhere between panicked and like you have an ulcer*. We'll see how this goes since there's not much season left but at least for this episode I had fun. We got, at least for one glorious episode all the firefam feels and I'm taking the win!! Maybe even with a song...

Yes yes, very excited about Grace as always, and Owen is...whatever. Though the compressions on the frozen guy could at least be interesting for emergency related fun stuff.

ANYWAY, HOW ABOUT THAT EPISODE LAST NIGHT?!?!?! The TVFanatic review was absolutely spot on with my issues in regards to Eddie's storyline, as well as wondering if it will ultimately turn out well, but it was SO much better than I was prepared for. And while the message of "Eddie has no gf and therefore MUST be lonely" that was being pushed on him was very 😒 it was shown to absolutely be coming from a place of love. (Eddie is the favorite grandson and nephew, you cannot change my mind.) Ryan's choices have been very...loud, not just in his scenes with Buck but how he's approaching this whole dating thing so we'll see how it turns out! (Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll cut the Folger's girl stuff? It's never too late to manifest!)

The Bobby stuff this episode was EXACTLY the kind of fun firefam stuff we needed while still serving a purpose, and it really felt like old times, and it was so good seeing Maddie back at work even briefly. And I know some people found it cringy but I too could not help but sing along if I heard music so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get it, kid! I think the Nathaniel stuff will probably end fine, but again we have another bungled set up that really just needed a touch of tweaking but at least we got a Hen/Athena talk out of it!

Every. Single. Second. of the Ravi and Chim stuff was RIVETING and felt so much like home. It was so so so good and I petition for Kenny to have more storylines and do more interviews! I am sooooo happy to have Ravi back home again (even if they could have given a crumb or two instead of erasing him from the show for almost a whole season and bringing him back with no warning), and I'm excited to see how the big emergency in the finale plays out.

Fandom: 9-1-1

Pairing: Chimney Han/Maddie Buckley

Note: (yes this is posted on the 17th, I forgot ;-;) Also, spoiler alert for season 5, but this is Chimney watching the video Maddie left him and going to look for her. I'm having a lot of feelings, okay bafyauha

Chimney carries Jee-Yun back to her crib and glances over to the table after he stands back up, seeing his tablet still loaded up with the video Maddie had last given to him before she left. He's watched countless times before, and plans on watching it again and again, at least until he finds out what happened to her because why did she just leave?

He walks over to the table, and watches the video once more, pausing it at different parts because there has to be something that's giving away clues. Maddie wouldn't act like this, she wouldn't just leave like this. She's a great person and an even greater mom.

Hi, I'm sure that you are confused, hurt, and uh, probably really scared.

Chimney starts tearing up already, knowing what's coming and what he wishes she wouldn't say.

I don't know what to say. You don't need to go to the police or come looking for me.

He looks over to the bag that he had left on the counter, already half full with clothes and what he needs to take. He already plans to go looking for her, because there's no way he can just sit here and wait for her.

I'm not in any danger, and no one is making me do this.

He doesn't want to take that risk, to just let her come back by herself. What if she doesn't? What if she can't, or doesn't want to come back, to Jee, to him.

But Jee is not safe with me. Not now, and maybe...

Tears start spilling from his eyes now, hating the fact that Maddie believes Jee-Yun isn't safe and blaming himself for it. I should've been here, I should've...

I know that you're gonna take really good care of her. And she's better off without me.

He runs his hands through his hair as he starts sobbing. Sure he's a good dad, but she's a good mom, too. Jee-Yun needs a mom, she needs both parents in the house, she wouldn't be better off without her mom. He glances over at Jee--who's fast asleep--and looks back to the video of Maddie crying her goodbye.

I love you. I love both of you. And I'm really sorry.

The video cuts there, leaving a sobbing Chimney staring at Maddie's crying face as she'd reached over to end the video. He gets up and starts packing again. He's going to go looking for her, and he's taking Jee with him. He's going to bring the love of his life and his child's mother home because he doesn't know what he would do without her.

What a ride that was wow. Umm. I-. wow. Like that was some top tier shit in terms of Buddie crumbs. I am convinced (and have been) that this will be the slowburn to end all slowburns. And in no way did this diminish my hopes, because I really do truly believe that neither of them are ready for each other yet. Am I a bit sad that Buck and Taylor are going to be a thing, a little yeah cause I wanted besties, but I do think they will be good for each other in either regard. Those are some thoughts for now, I am sure I will have more in the coming days with a rewatch or two and all your brilliant minds as well.

But so ends the screaming into the void for season 4, its been a ride. See you in September. I can't wait to read fics and probably write a few too.

To quote Howie Chimney “Totally In Love With Maddie” Han, I’m not sure I’d ever been so happy!! That kiss! That whole scene. Cute insecure nervous Maddie approaching Chimney at the station. Chimney’s cute little wave when he saw her?? Like what the heck he looked so smoll and innocent I can’t even. Maddie’s teary eyes because she hasn’t stopped thinking about their last conversation and she’s terrified that he’s realized just how much baggage is involved and maybe he really just doesn’t want her. 💔 Chimney’s face when Maddie says he was right about them not getting back what they were about to have. Like oh no the goddess is gonna break my heart again I can’t be crying in the middle of the station. “Maybe we can have something else.” They both just took this big chance and decided they deserve to be happy!!! Because HELL YEAH they deserve to be loved and happy!!! And omg that kiss was more than I was expecting and everything we deserved. Maddie’s smile into the kiss kills me like I am actually answering this from Madney heaven. These two are so passionate and so selfless and you know what??? They’re gonna have some more obstacles and they both have all this trauma but they’re gonna get through it together. That kiss wasn’t just a kiss. It was an I missed you. An I believe in you. It was a damn promise for more good things to come and I can’t friggin wait for their love story to grow in season 3.
