I love that they chose these to be the things about Yang that are so significant to Blake. Blake, who has only ever known love as straight-faced, selfish, and two-sided. But Yang is exactly who she says she is, and Blake loves her for that.
AND THEN SHE ENDS WITH: “Try to keep up!”
Lightening the situation for Yang: Yang, who is the bravest person she knows, yet so uncertain in matters of the heart. Assuring her that, yes, it’s okay to be here, with her, in this moment.

Three thoughts on episode 9.6 of RWBY:
1. I feel a great deal of sympathy for the Cat. There’s no contradiction between his and Jaune’s statements. He’s been consistently helpful to team RWBY this entire time, they’d have been screwed without him (and it sounds like he played the same role for ALJ). After saving them from the Herbalist he explained about Ascension and that everyone has a role etc. They never asked what his role is, but he demonstrated it quite clearly. And it was Alyx who was to blame for whatever happened to Louis.
So what has the Cat done that makes Jaune and then RWBY angrily reject him? He didn’t help them the Right Way. Didn’t tell them everything they wanted to know/hear. He wasn’t able to stop the bad things from happening. So Jaune lashes out at him. Just like with Qrow, Ozpin and Oscar. And the cat leaves, just like Ozpin. He’s obviously hurt but trying to be mature and self-aware about it: this was a trade of assistance for information, any friendly feelings were his own delusion.
So it was very interesting indeed to see the girls briefly realize they’re in the same position. They tried so hard to save Atlas. They genuinely gave everything they had, and they evacuated most of the population safely! Blake says that has to count for something. But Weiss and Ruby say it doesn’t count at all. They didn’t help the Right Way and stop the bad things from happening A lot of Atlas and Mantle survivors are going to be angry at the protagonists in a very familiar pattern - but with the sides reversed.
If the writers are doing what I think they are here, I’ll be impressed. Maybe this whole long frustrating theme of trust and betrayal and accusations and secrets and running away has been an arc leading us to the conclusion that “hero” is a fundamentally flawed and poisonous concept that chews up everyone who comes in contact with it. Ozpin. Ruby. Jaune. Pyrrha. Qrow. Raven. Summer, almost certainly. Tai, almost certainly. Ironwood. Maria.
2. LOUIS is the Jabberwalker.
3. The Herbalist lost his way and his understanding of his role in the world. The Cat gave the Herbalist a piece of his heart and sent him back to the Tree, to be reforged anew.
In the end, will Ruby give Salem a piece of her heart to share her understanding of life and death, and send her to the Tree to be reforged anew?
Will Oscar go to the Tree, to let all the souls be released and reforged anew, at the cost of the same fate for himself? That would be so terribly sad and I don’t want it, all this time I’ve been certain Oscar would get a happy ending even if Ozpin cannot. But it would fit, thematically.

RWBY V9E6 DVD COMMENTARY
Because I know what the people want —
Here’s the commentary on the Bridge Scene in Episode 6:
“We could have done it on Remnant, but there’s something so special about doing it here [the Ever After].” Noting that it feels “more private” and something that Yang, in particular, would need.
“Feel so weird being able to finally actually talk about this stuff.” - Kerry re: Bumbleby
“Blake has been bisexual for a long time [to herself].”
I DO NOT WANT THIS TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT OR CONSTRUED ANY WHICH WAY, BECAUSE I DONT THINK THEY ARE SAYING ANYTHING ONE WAY OR THE OTHER ABOUT YANG’S SEXUALITY. But one of the reasons they stated they took their time getting to this moment with Bumbleby is that “This is something new for Yang…it’s something she’s realizing about herself.” [in contrast to Blake knowing herself in this regard - see bullet above]
They chat about Casey Williams knocking it out of the park.
“So they smooched!” - Kerry, trying to downplay the gushing they just did for minutes once the scene was over.
Paraphrasing: “I’m really happy with how it all came together. It took a lot of people to make it all come together like that. I think it’s one of the things I’m most proud of being a part of creatively.” - Eddy “Me too.” - Kerry
Kerry also discusses some of the logistics involved with creating the Bridge Scene, from the assets, to the mocap, to the wind, etc. Bit hard to convey via a bullet, but just a high level overview of all the moving parts and teams that went into the scene.
“Every single person who touched this scene in some way put in their everything.” - Kerry
“I love the squeak from Ruby.” [when Blake/Yang get caught macking]
An alternative line for Jaune when they were writing was “I cant believe I’ve been gone for years and that still hadn’t happened.” But they thought it was a bit too cynical.

Spoilers for RWBY V9E6
So, the two biggest theories right now are that Lewis ascended into the Jabberwalker, and that Lewis was actually the one who went home to write the story while Alyx stayed behind to become ascended.
If you combine the two theories, that would imply that Alyx is the Jabberwalker, not Lewis.
