I am by no means an expert on the subject at all, but if I could give one piece of advice to people who are job hunting, it is to always save a copy of the description of any job you apply for. It’s getting RIDICULOUS out there (at least in my experience/industry) in terms of how long between when a job gets posted and when they start contacting applicants for interviews, and unless you have a photographic memory, or the job is still active on the website you found it on, you will forget details about the job before you get invited to interview and it’s probably not a strong sign if you ask the interviewer what the heck the job is again (even if it’s fair given the elapsed time and how many applications people expect you to have going at once).
If it’s not already available in PDF format, just click the print option on your browser’s menu when you’re on the webpage with the job listing and when it gives you the window with the printer specifications, select “save as PDF” on the dropdown of available printers instead and save it to the same folder where you’re saving your cover letters/resumes/application materials with the name of the company/job title/date you applied in the file name. easy peasy. I still forget to do this occasionally but even remembering to do it half the time has saved me a lot of trouble overall.
job hunting sucks and is demoralizing on the best day, so keep your head up, do little things like this to make your life easier, and remember that I love you 💖 you got this!

here's a take you can cancel me for: it's exhausting when transmasc spaces require censoring of any mentions / discussion of pregnancy or periods under the premise of not wanting to trigger people. because I'm sorry but if you are specifically in a space that exists for the discussion of the unique issues facing trans men / afab people then you cannot prioritize your own discomfort to shut down normal everyday conversations. you cannot hold your inability to regulate your own social media consumption over someone discussing their own body, not yours, because you have framed dysphoria as the universal hallmark of the trans experience and cannot fathom when a trans masc person would be glad or excited about the prospect of getting to have their own child, and other people are sharing in that joy. there are servers and chatrooms for people who are not comfortable discussing any aspects of what the vast majority of adults experience where you would be welcome to talk about sanitized topics.

Hello i am not done about posting about my boy
Have a comic that ran itself through my head until I had to put it on paper--my lil guy cian (braid) asking his brother Emyr in his youth to read him a story totally did not steal this idea from the blog
and i wanted to practice my signs a lil bit and this was good practice between ISL (irsh sign language) and ASL (american sign language), if you spot something thats wrong please let me know! I want to know more about ISL so I can study it more!

ok but for real tho does anyone know how to actually get all your records removed from the mormon church? bc if you've ever been to one you'll know how actually creepy they are. someone will have visited the church ONCE three years ago and they'll somehow have the persons address and be discussing ways to get them to come back

I'm in a reference class right now and I just get so irrationally angry about the requirements.
Like, obviously, the purpose of the class is to make sure all the theoretically-future (or sometimes current) librarians know how to actually look things up AND verify sources AND in a wide variety of subjects and topics. Yes, good, valuable, important.
BUT I hate it so much. I hate questions that sound like they came from an alien whose best human impression comes from old chatbots: "Who is Zora Neale Hurston? What is she known for? Does Sparkle Library have any of her books?" why are you asking the first two questions if you clearly know them enough to ask the third "What's this geologic feature I saw in town? What's its history? Where is it?" can I point you to Google Maps please "What is the meaning of the word fandom?" why am I required to find you four verified resources on a dictionary definition "Can you help me find articles about this topic" yes but our professor hasn't actually given us examples of how they'd 'verify' articles so IDK if this will work even though it's literally exactly how I'd do this in my actual library job where I provide reference services to college students.

I am so sorry to trouble you with obvious BS, but a friend found these pendants while metal detecting and was hoping someone would be able to translate the one on the left. Would you know where I could go? The cartouche beginning with a big bust of (Maat? Isis??) is throwing me…
Xxx
Oh that's not total bullshit, the one on the right is supposed to be the Rosetta Stone and the one on the left is a rather wonky version of the cartouche of Cleopatra VII Philopator (aka the Cleopatra). And by wonky I mean "they left off the initial K in favour of fitting in her bust so now it just reads Leopatra". (And made some other weird positional choices but like. Leopatra. That's objectively hilarious.)
Here's the same cartouche rendered horizontally, from the temple of Edfu:
Read from right to left in this case; the sign directly above the lion is the one they left off!
