⭐ for your current/most recent WIP!!!
Ohhhhh boy 😂
I need to preface this with the fact that this is so early in the process that I don't want to publicly commit to saying much about about the plot or even speculate on any sort of timeline as to when this might be finished.
But I will give a little snippet of something I'm working on. In this project, one of the things that's both fun and challenging is working from a largely new-to-me POV and more intimately illustrating some experiences that I've previously only written from an observer's perspective:
Harrow said that just meant her insight was getting better, that she was more aware of “areas where she needed support” which was the sugarcoated term for “weaknesses.” In hindsight, Gideon knew that initially she’d truly believed many of the checks and safeguards were unnecessary; now she knew that without the lists and alarms and extra time and another set of eyes she was prone to impulsively giving into distractions, to forgetting things, to missing things that were obvious to everyone else. And it fucking sucked.
That's all [whistling innocently]

It is strange the way things from the past come back to haunt you, things you didn’t really notice when you were living them.

Can we talk about how fucking disrespectful Keevey is in Three Summers? She's a manic pixie dream girl wannabe who just walked into some guy's workshop and laughed at his art, stayed after to offend him personally.
Then she went to his gig and laughed at him again and invaded his performance as if her and her fiddle could "fix" his "disaster". You don't just go to another artist's gig and ask to play, it's not your place!
Keevey can't call Roland judgmental when she's been judging him from the first second she heard him play.

Her gestures were like waves after a storm, but before the sea has completely calmed down.

honestly, normalize quitting. it's so okay to drop a course, quit a job 3 weeks in, leave a relationship when it isn't giving you what you need. quitting isn't a sign of weakness, isn't a sign that you're not trying enough. a lot of the time, it's a sign that you are prioritizing yourself and your values, and that should be honoured.

“Sometimes one feels the need to broaden one’s horizons, eh?”
“Do you mean to make a single life like a thousand lives?”
“Perhaps… Yes, something like that. It’s why some people travel, others read, and others spy.”
