The Owl house is a show with many traumatizing and dark scenes but the one that has stuck with me the most is this one:
youtube
Just the cruelness of this game & how it is use to indoctrinate this young witches into the rather “new” coven system.
How Raine’s and Eda’s names, and the rest of the young witches, are erased to distinguished between “coven” or “wild” as it would be in the future, where their personhood is robbed by the coven system.
How the game is set against the wild witches from the beggining, they can’t and will never win, and the system wants you to know that so that you’ll never consider turning “wild” once the time comes.
How everyone is terrified, and no one wants to do it, they just think they don’t have any other option. Just look at the face of the purple witch here:
Tumblr media
And the wild witches all go to their own side- without any possibility of unionizing- where areas you could say that the covens are doing “team work” to erradicate them, but it doesn’t work like that. The existance of the Coven Head position, means that there is a heriarchy within the covens and if there is then everyone is your enemy and if you wan’t to climb higher you have to step over them (which comes with fun and disconcerting stuff of what Raine had to do).
And if we go with the theory that both of Willow’s parents are at this event, you can see how they were both traumatized by this excercise in how they acted with their daughter. Trying to push her to the most respected coven (which is so interesting because divisions, between divisions, hierarchy within hierarchy), trying to make her follow the rules because if she doesn’t, she’ll be hunted.
How many more witches and demons like them where forever affected by this game, and how it affected the actions they made on the future?
And it makes me wonder, how many times has this game been played on the Isles? Not only as a means to an end to win some pretty ribbon, but just as a recreative game between friends and cousins. Did it was played when Luz was at Hex-side?
Of course, the story (and the game) ends with a happy ending. And how did our characters win, how did Raine and the wild Witches win, by going against the rules, outside of them, by joining forces with Eda and the Coven Witches (there’s also something to say about how Eda was the one to propose the idea of help - because she had privileged within the game and therefore it made sense for her to extend said privilege. And then in the present day Raine offers to help the wild witches instead, since they are the ones that are now in the position of leaderships.)

Love them shit talking shadows bad characterization lmao, honestly I love that the idw comic shows more of Amy and Rouge hanging out, like sure they aren’t best friends or anything but they are the two most prominent female characters it feels weird how little they interact in games (and for some reason when they do, they make them catty towards each other which makes no sense imo). Also lmao tangle and vector

April 23 & 29, 2022. Ok so I know I'm WAY way late on these but anyway have some Them's The Breaks fan art Because I know a certain @bernardo-draws-and-cries that will be absolutely spinning on this. The second one was kinda rushed, mostly because I wanna get to posting my Hollow Mind fan art (which I literally just made today) soooo yeah. Also trying out a new lighting technique I like. I only used it once before in that Lumity Forest fan art

A theory on how Emperor Belos will be defeated
In the beginning of the episode, Them's the Breaks, Kid, we saw Luz using glyph combos to learn 4 new spells:
wind,
Tumblr media
water fountain,
Tumblr media
petrification,
Tumblr media
and summoning a monster.
Tumblr media
Since The Owl House is about to end this year, I think there's a possibility that we will see these 4 new spells again in the series finale, Watching and Dreaming.
We all know in the end of season 1 that the punishment of covenless witches is petrification and its effects cannot be reversed. And Belos almost did that to Luz in King's Tide.
So here's my theory.
What if everyone in the Boiling Isles band together to use these glyph combos and ultimately activate the petrification spell on Belos as a way to defeat him once and for all? Think about it. The thing that he did to those covenless witches would be the very same thing that would lead to his ultimate demise. For him to get a taste of his own medicine would be a satisfactory way to end his reign of terror, deception, and manipulation.
Since this is a theory, I might be completely wrong. I would be genuinely surprised if that actually happens in the series finale.
I’d like to know your thoughts on this particular theory. If you have other theories on how Belos will be defeated, feel free to share them in the comments. I’d be more than happy to read them.
