I’ve been thinking about Monster Duchess and Contract Princess, and you know what? I like that in contrast with other rofan/European style webcomics there is no time travel or incarnation into a pre-existing story that spurs on the protagonist to act. After a traumatic event (without regression!) Leslie decides on her own that she’s done with her family and seeks answers by herself. She doesn’t have pre existing knowledge about the characters’ past or actions, her decisions all come from her own, single, present experience.

Btw I’m not dissing on webcomics that use this trope. I do enjoy reading them. I just feel that this one in particular has a pretty refreshing take on the genre

I will read 8734345 of these trash family revenge manhwas with the same 5 tropes because the ending is always so *chefs kiss* Also, for once the FL neither died or was isekai-ed. ~revolutionary~

Summary So the trash family has this real horrible tradition of sacrificing their second/silver-haired children for ~power~ but our precious bean manages to escape. She decides to propose a contract to the most powerful duchess duke to be their adopted daughter. Her new family is ~AMAZING~ and they all love her so much ;w; Yes there is also an ML but he’s basically a little precious puppy knight paladin, and really more of a supporting character.

I absolutely love how ruthless The Monstrous Duke’s Adopted Daughter is to the antagonists and villains of the story.

Sperado family is basically gone. With the Marquis killed by the children during the fire, his wife killed by the Etai (kinda sad that she got killed like that), and their daughter is pretty much on the brink of death even though she’s been cured.

The late empress died by Duke Salvator’s hands herself instead of being left to be on trial. Man it was so satisfying to see the blue haired woman die. But at the same time so shocking cause I did not expect that to happen.

The empress’ lackeys got punished and hanged.

Poor Konrad’s dad got sent to prison for assisting the late empress.

And the Salvators, their staff, Konrad, and the rest of the empire is living happily :D
