Two things to add two more of my cents to.

First, the court proceedings of S* that JTBC got a hold of and shared so far. Just the two things revealed so far are eye opening and disgusting.

Read up on it. Enough proof given including testimonies by S*employees to get him on 29 occasions of procuring prostitution for clients/friends/guests. He was either informed of how the prostitution meet ups were carried out by employees or he was actually on site when they occured. 29 they had enough proof of...who knows how many there actually were?

Also, the court deemed proven that he himself on at least one occasion filmed 3 naked women in bed and then uploaded it to a group chat. This was done right after a fanmeet in China. So...there you go, folks. Proof is in the pudding...and court documents.

Apparently his defense tried to lie and say a Madame sent him the footage, it wasn't him. Then they changed their tune and pled for leniency claiming it was his first offense.

(And I'm a unicorn 🦄😄)

We all know his stans are still going to stay in denial even though they all said they'd wait for what the courts said. So, enjoy that sand y'all keep hiding your heads in.

Second is the crap going around about GD liking certain Seungri posts and having "proof" he is supporting him and his supposed innocence.

Studies showed many were faked by bots because multiple posts got multiple likes all at the same times faster than a human could have done. There were also multiple plans to mass post certain photos GD is known to prefer so as to get him to like one or more somewhere and capture "proof" of support.

Sad. Delusional and sad. So you can disregard the nutjobs running around showing their "proof" he was going Hurray for S*!! on an Insta spree.

I was on a long bullshit free hiatus and enjoyed it but I sure as hell am interested that we're finally getting some facts reported. What the toxic zealots keep attempting and to what end, I don't understand. But trust that we can see through your whack a doodle manipulations.

The man committed criminal acts. He was convicted. He swore he would not lie, but he did. He served a (too short) prison term. Authorities misinformed the public and released him 2 days early at dawn to avoid press because they didn't want any on it.

“Hey there, I’m sorry I missed your call. I’m probably somewhere with Xav. Say hi Xavier”

‘Hi Xavier’ you let out a small giggle as your now ex-boyfriend teases in the background.

“Leave your name and message and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Maybe. Maybe not” You heard coming from your phone followed by a loud BEEEEP

When you heard his voice, your heart sank. You hadn’t heard it in what felt like an eternity but was really three days. Remembering how happy you once were. Your mind was bombarded with memories of your two-year relationship.  As you buried your face in your pillow, you figured that perhaps it was time to change your voicemail. The sound of your friend's voice on the other end of the phone distracted you from your thoughts.

"Just checking in, y/n. We miss you!  If you're up for grabbing some ice cream, give me a call. I love you" 

 You were left holding your phone as Yoko's voice faded away. The fact that your friends were keeping an eye on you was sweet. They were aware that you weren't handling the split lightly. It has been days since you only ever left your bed to use the bathroom. Your roommate, Wednesday, would leave food on your nightstand, knowing you had barely touched the one she had left prior.  She typically never showed her emotions, but you knew you were beginning to worry her, so you would occasionally nibble on the food she was kind enough to bring you. It was difficult, but you knew you needed to muster the courage to give your friends a call soon. Days passed very quickly in your defense. Without the long-haired brunette boy by your side, nights seem a lot lonelier too.

Your phone's screen revealed the time. 10:47 p.m.

Your friends were taking advantage of the extra time off from school to enjoy the long weekend. Most of them were out having fun and doing what typical teenagers of their age do. Something you should be doing.  But you couldn't find a way to stop thinking about the events that had transpired the last time you saw him.

You let out a loud sigh as you turned off your phone. You didn’t want to feel guilty for watching your friends call and letting the phone ring. You thought it was best if you sent it straight to voicemail. Placing your phone under your pillow as recurring flashbacks of the breakup flooded your mind.

You'd just returned from town, bearing gifts for your boyfriend. You knew how much he adored Ye Olde Fudgery's small fudge bites. You decided to stop at the fudge shop before returning to campus. Yes, you enjoyed spoiling your Xavier, and he happily reciprocated.

As you made your way to his dorm room, humming the chorus of Lana Del Rey's "Video Game," you noticed his door was wide open. As you crept up to the door, ready to scare your boyfriend, you noticed someone else's familiar voice.

"You're so lucky you no longer have to deal with these kinds of nerves, dude. The idea of asking Enid to be my girl makes me shaky."  As you watched Ajax reveal his truth about your friend Enid, you put your palm over your heart in awe. 

Your boyfriend replied, "Yeah man, when I asked y/n to be my girlfriend, those nerves were eating me alive. Just don't overthink it," as he delivered his best advice to his best friend. You pushed closer to get a better look while being careful not to be spotted.

"Yeah easy for you to say!” His dorm room echoed with laughter as Ajax began to say "You started your relationship with y/n only to help you get over Bianca."

You couldn't recall which object fell to the ground first—your heart or the box of fudge. He used you to get over his ex? Did everyone know about this?  A million questions flooded your head as your eyes met. His smile fell as he realized what you had just heard.

“Oh, fuck” was the last thing you heard Ajax say as you ran away to Ophelia hall. The tears in your eyes were causing your vision to blur and making you lightly bump into the few people in your hallway. You whispered your apologies as you continued to make way to your dorm room.

You were unable to process what had just transpired. Were you only a ploy to help Xavier overcome his feelings for Bianca? You did not imagine him doing something like this to you. Why did you just hear about this now? Did no one feel the need to inform you? You questioned not only your friends but your boyfriend at this point. 

As you entered your room, you dropped to the floor instantly and let your tears fall within the comfort of your four walls. You stayed there for a few hours without having the energy to get up and go to bed. Allowing your mind to wander through all of these assumptions. Assuming you had no tears left to cry, you just stared blankly into the distance.

A soft knock came from the direction of your room door that made you sit up.

He mumbled, "Y/n please just let me explain." You couldn't show weakness. Thats not who you were and that wasn't the person you were going to reveal to him now.

You bit your lip, rubbed your now-dry eyes, and walked toward the door. You contemplated for a few seconds before turning the handle and revealing the tall, long-haired boy slouched over the door frame. After spending two years with him, you could tell when he had been crying. He had messy hair, which you assumed was a result of him running his hands through it while he thought of a lie to convince you. Your heart dropped as soon as he caught your eye, but you remained emotionless.

"Can I come in?" Xavier inquired. Bold. He thought he could walk right in and that after crying a little, everything would be alright? His question infuriated you.

You spat, “I can hear you perfectly fine from out here” Shocked at the courage you were now showing. 

“Fine, I'll admit that I was a mess when you first arrived at Nevermore. Trying to find any way to get over Bianca. I turned to drugs, alcohol, partying and nothing worked. But when I saw you y/n” he hesitated, struggling to find the right words.

"I had hope when I first saw you, and as we got to know each other, you gave me the feeling that this.. us.. might be something real and greater, and- and I know I messed up by not telling you I still had feelings for Bianca at the beginning of us, but you showed me what true love felt like."  He communicated as he was leaking salty water coming from his eyes over the dark wooden floor.

"How could you?,"  Tears are now dripping from your eyes as you gently shake your head in disbelief. Although you made an effort to restrain them, the sound of him confessing it caused your heart to break much more than it already had.

He frowned as he realized that his attempt to be sincere would not get you back. Xavier never thought he'd be the cause of your tears, and just the sight of it devastated him. He knew he’d never forgive himself for inflicting this pain onto you.

When he heard the next few words come out of your mouth, he experienced all the emotions he had after his breakup with Bianca all over again, but this time to a much greater degree.

“I never want to see you again Xavier” you whispered as you shut the door in front of you.

Wednesday 1x03 - Friend or Woe

Jekyll and Hyde/Sherlock Holmes crossover.

Please it would literally be so fucking funny. I’ve only read a few of the original Holmes novels and (unfortunately) I’m studying Jekyll and Hyde at GCSE level so my facts will only be straight on one of these novels but just

Can you imagine how apeshit Holmes would go like “IT TOOK YOU LIKE A YEAR AND A HALF TO SOLVE IT MY BROTHER IN CHRIST HE LITERALLY NAMED HIMSELF ‘MR HYDE’.” while Watson does his absolute best to apologise for his best friend like when you try and cover your mate’s ass in front of a teacher they’ve just pissed off.

Utterson probably doesn’t even have to defend himself because he’s probably got like 20 years on Holmes so he can just pull the “Respect your elders.” card and not have to address the fact that he did not join any of the dots together until Jekyll fucking spelled it out for him from beyond the grave.

Now, I am of course imagining this after the events of Jekyll and Hyde but an equally funny interpretation is Utterson hiring the two of them to snoop on Hyde and find out what kind of money fudgery he’s up to. Cue Holmes unravelling the conspiracy like “Jesus Christ how am I supposed to explain this and avoid the asylum.”

Either way, I think this is very funny to imagine if you’re struggling to sit through a GCSE class on Jekyll and Hyde. (Luckily I have a good teacher).

That’s a Very Touching Story- OFMD, Stede/Ed, 49k. A divergence from canon, in which Stede is a touch telepath, and Ed has prophetic visions of people’s death. As they’re so deeply attuned, things can’t help but escalate to the most elaborate pirate wedding ever! Bonus silky things for Ed 👘

I think the "light" in Touya is going to be whatever remains of the kind of person Touya was before, which is probably going to include more outpouring of hurt but without the villain murder energy, kinda like chapter 350 to show the parallel with Shigaraki still holding a lot of Tenko's feelings. With Toga.....it came off more to me as a parallel to what AFO was doing to Spinner in the same chapter, making Toga think it's too late to turn back, he followed her all that way because she still had Twice's blood that he gave her before, to see if she was getting too caught up in emotions to do what was needed. He literally asks that too, because he saw how emotions like that got Hawks tripped up. Not too long ago he was also complaining to AFO that it'd be bad for them if Aoyama switched sides, I think checking in with Toga to make sure she didn't as well is consistent with that. I suppose it does look comforting in a "that's not good for the heroes trying to save you way" if I were Toga, I'd think what Dabi did was sweet and encouraging too as a way to honor my friend. Dabi's brand of caring reads very much like "we've all been through shit, and that shit sucks, so let's burn it down together" kind. It lines up with how he speaks about everyone fighting in this war, the limit of superhuman society. Now on that scene, I struggle to celebrate it as a good one because we can all agree that using Twice as nothing but a mindless puppet army of clones to cause mass destruction isn't a very good image of him, and we're likely headed for a turn around where he's instead used to save the League/Shigaraki from AFO, and also because what reads as positive development for the villains (like how some people thought Toga not "loving" anymore was good) is actually backwards progress for them. Even though Dabi burned down her house, "the past never dies?" right, and how she compared Izuku and Ochako to her parents, I feel like we're going to get more on that, there is SOMETHING else to her story of love and Hori is being super dodgy on it, something isn't being said yet RE: Toga's past and how that matches what she wants and goes 🤝 with what love means for her and Ochako. She has more deeper issues with them I think and her former "normal life." But for now, we're getting ~ this ~ unreasonable Toga seeing OchaDeku through trauma-affected lenses and saying "the only ones you heroes protect is yourselves" which happens to be exactly what Dabi said in his video. Great scenes for the villains, not so great for the rescue scene. Especially not so great knowing the fudgery that went into Dabi's broadcast, so. Having Toga believe so much of what Dabi says and follow him is, hm. Maybe after they both resolve their issues it'll be better?

I feel like your ask is about an entirely different question than what I was talking about. Just because a certain act of friendship or caring doesn't push the characters forward or is not the best thing for the other person from an objective perspective, the underlying emotion can still be true and honest.

Twice happily killing others in the name of the friendship he felt for the League is clearly not "good", but it does not make his feelings not be genuine or valid.

I simply can't understand why fandom is so ready to see positive in every villain, but wants to keep denying any "light" inside Touya.

Yeah, for the moment, his actions tend to be destructive - both for himself and others, but he has a capacity to feel, to love and even to empathize to some extent that we see tiny glimpses of which Horikoshi put in the story very deliberately.

Last night we stayed at a campground in Banff and this morning we woke up and headed into town! We went to walk the shops and went to visit Lindsay’s cousin, Brittany at the fudgery! We made plans to meet up for a walk after her shift and then went out for lunch and visited the shops! Then we met up with Brittany and went for a beautiful walk along the river! It was a great day and it was so nice to see a familiar, family face! Now we are driving to Cypress Hill interprovincial park!

How Rage Against the Machine Outsmarted Censors to Get ‘Freedom’ on TV

Rage Against the Machine are Rock Hall eligible now, but it took a moment and some creativity for them to catch their big break.

While many are aware that their self-titled debut album arrived in 1992, it wasn't until their fourth single "Freedom" in the U.S. in 1994 that they were able to garner significant airplay due to radio and television standards. But they eventually got through to a mass audience, albeit with a little fudgery in the process.

In a new video for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (seen below) and shared by Spin, guitarist Tom Morello told host Ryan J. Downey about how they eventually found their way around the censorship restrictions without having to censor their art.

Morello spells out the biggest issue right off the bat, explaining, “With Rage Against the Machine we were not going to censor the lyrics for any of our songs for radio, so in the United States, you couldn’t play most of the songs on that record.”

That led to quite the challenge as Europe had fewer restrictions and the band caught on fast overseas, but the U.S. record label was unable to break the band due to the curse words that populated their material. The guitarist recalls, “We’re playing these huge festivals over here, and we’re opening up for House of Pain in small clubs in the U.S.,” then adding, “The U.S. record company was embarrassed that they’ve got this band that is a political Led Zeppelin-Public Enemy thing that nobody knows about.”

After three singles ("Killing in the Name," "Bullet in the Head" and "Bombtrack") couldn't make the cut stateside due to the curse words included, the band's A&R rep came to the group with a proposal to go with "Freedom" as the fourth single and allowing the band the opportunity to shoot a video about freeing Leonard Peltier if they could ensure there was no cursing for airplay.

“The secret underlying reason [that was a single] was that there were no curse words in the lyrics of the song so they might actually be able to get it onto MTV," recalled Morello.

As the guitarist tells it, “We make the video and it’s fantastic and I’m watching the video in the back of the bus with our A&R guy and it goes by and I’m like, ‘What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘We’re doomed, because there’s cursing in it.’ And I’m like, ‘We’ve forensically gone through this video with all of our litigation staff and we’re like, 'no, no, no, it’s not in the lyrics. It’s an extemporaneous remark that Zack makes before the beat drops where he says, ‘Bring that shit in.'”

But that offhand remark at the front raised some concern for certain, before Morello says they came up with a work-around, revealing the remark at the beginning wasn't what it may have sounded like. Rather than "Bring that shit in," he offered that de la Rocha was saying something else. He recollects, “What if he’s saying, ‘Bring the shiteen,’ cause shiteen is the Aztec word for ‘freedom.’ So what if we are bringing the ‘shiteen’ in and there’s no cursing?”

That said, Morello sheepishly questions, “Now, is shiteen the Aztec word for freedom? As far as Viacom knows it is, and that record got on MTV and we sold 3 million copies of that record and let an entirely new generation know about Leonard Peltier.”

"Freedom" made its debut on MTV's 120 Minuteson Dec. 19, 1993 and was in heavy rotation for MTV in the early part of 1994, giving the band the platform they needed to break to a larger audience in the U.S. Now ain't that some shiteen.

Even when I’ve got financial constraints, I make silly (stupid) financial committments

A friend from JPN is here for the  holidays and I inadvertently committed myself to a day trip up to Quebec City with them and I feel like an idiot.

Currently looking for work though and looking for remote online stuff so I should be able to make back the 150$ ticket, but still, I could’ve just said no. It’s a bit last minute so I can’t even back out (and they bought their ticket already assuming I’d be able to go). 

To make things make more sense: I was in dire financial straits at the end of April and asked for help, albeit last minute, to cover things in my budget. (got a tongue lashing too. deservedly.) The monnies I got are to cover that specifically. I didn’t allow myself any breathing room for personal spending when I asked my aunt.  I just feel like I don’t deserve to be helped out (nor even deserve to go on a trip *within* the province) but more on that some other day someday

I wish I hadn’t remembered the bus option and just left it at “Oh yeah the train is really expensive” or even just early on been honest. I don’t know if I should cancel on them (if they have to cancel their ticket, it’s only a refund of 75% of the costs, which is better than nothing. But I would feel terrible)

My other worry is that it’ll be dreary and rainy up there all day--the whole region (and mine) are going to be rainy this week, with some sunny breaks. 150$ just to spend it indoors just...doesn’t inspire too much.  At the same time, I remember receiving cash from someone very close 5 years ago and I don’t think I ever deposited it and atm I can’t find the envelope. If I can find that tonight, then maybe I’ll go through with buying the ticket. But I tried looking for it in April and no dice. I don’t think I deposited the cash though... (there was a 100$ bill)

Mind you, I do love rainy days. And the fudgery place in the old city is my favourite...I’ll still give it some thought.

Right now I’m just going “AAAGH WHY DID I DO THAT OMG” to myself repeatedly while one of my cats snoozes beside me.
