you gotta give it to aa4 it was REALLY funny of them to make apollo such a lawful good fuckin square and then put him in a position where he’s constantly surrounded by people who want to break the law to help him out + people who broke the law but he still has to defend them + people who want to manipulate him into breaking the law. and then in his first real case he has to dig around in the trash for women’s underwear and break and enter for evidence. and then he finds out that his special move is using poker tactics in court and it makes him look like the shiftiest attorney to ever exist

New VIVANT fans! Hello!! If you see any of my old posts from when I was blogging as it aired this summer, please feel free to comment!
I mean it! We were only like a tiny group here flailing each week and theorizing madly after each broadcast, hahaha. The more the merrier even months later! and no more gatekeeping
Also, the comments/likes/reblogs are also leading me to revisit my old posts and reblogs and laugh. Seriously, what a time it was to watch this jdrama as it was airing! I think I'll begin my rewatch this week, I'm curious how the official subs TL'd certain lines!!

I am quite aware that my final post about VIVANT episode 10 that I meant to post back in September is still in my drafts. Maybe I'll post it whenever I get around to the rewatch now that it's on Netflix 😅.
Reading some tweets about the Director's Cut edition that came out today and apparently there's more scenes of Nozaki in episode 1?? And I read a tweet about episode 10 and I think That Specific Scene was extended too but out of context, it could be referring to anything.
(it'd be cool if UNEXT eventually updated to include the DC edition though in a few months, like it did with MIU404...!)

LMAO SO FAM GUESS WHO GOT REALLY SICK THIS HOLIDAYS??
I'm better but my god was that awful to go through. I have a persistent low grade fever right now and can't take deep breaths yet and I'm tired, but better. (I am unfortunately constantly stressed so I don't take regular breaths I've noticed. Been trying to change that)
I haven't rewatched VIVANT yet but I want to finish this assignment and then relax for the rest of this break. (And recover lol)

Maybe there's not 100% filtered air coming into the room I'm working in because I've stopped sneezing since putting the mask on. Going to buy Neo Citran at the pharmacy on my way home tho)

*Overdue. I'm also hit with fatigue again and unproductive today but it's possible that a) I need dinner and b) the caffeine hasn't hit yet.
Soon I will be on break. soon....! T_T)
Edit: welp. Started sneezing and my forehead got really hot. So.... hopefully not a cold 😭😭 (got a mask from the dispenser and that's helping and took advil. Maybe there's not 100% filtered air coming into the room I'm working in because I've stopped sneezing since putting the mask on. Going to buy Neo Citran at the pharmacy on my way home tho)

VIVANT is out! Here's a protip: whatever you do, *DON'T* binge-watch it
I know there isn't going to be the same level of "OH MY GOD WHAT JUST HAPPENED" nor the incalculable level of pain impatience of waiting 7 days for the next episode like there was when it was broadcast, but trust me: it's worth it. This is a jdrama you shouldn't rush through.
Re-watching an episode before moving on to the next is always a good idea too.
But basically, sit back and enjoy the ride!! roller coaster it'll become! :]
FYI: The Netflix version is more than likely the TV edit. The discs come out in Japan on the 27th and will feature a Director's Cut plus some sort of special end credits. Still "HMMM." about that.

STREAMING NEWS: VIVANT to be streamed on December 17th on Netflix!
The news came out yesterday but Producer Iida seems to have confirmed it today (Co-Director Yohei too!)--VIVANT will be streamed on Netflix starting December 17th both in Japan and Internationally. International release dates, and regions, are currently unknown but it seems to be the same date.
EDIT: I can't find the link but the listing page in EN is live! The summary is cute (はわわ乃木 is "bumbling" i guess wwww):

I liked TBS' ultra vague "synopsis" blurb better than Netflix JP's XD
So, go! Tell your friends! Flail around! Advise them to pace themselves when watching! Act normally when they start saying "Nogi's such a hopeless case and super adorable poor bb, but what's this other persona thing??"! Spoil nothing!

UPDATE:
I'm alive and studying for the JLPT! (Which is a few hours)
In light of recent jdrama international (????) streaming news with VVNT (nothing yet but I suspect it'll silently be released later this month), I'm going to still up my little sheepish attempt at the first three episodes subs I had made and throw them up somewhere safe enough.
When it's out, be sure to promote the official channel! Director Yohei was pretty excited about a possible international streaming so hopefully in two weeks we'll know!
VVNT also will have a New Year's Eve/New Year's Day marathon broadcast which is a Pretty Big Deal. I know MIU had one and it deserves an S2, but hopefully the marathon will be the right push needed (also the show won 6 major awards 👍👍👍👍👍👍)
I miss everyone here. I'll be back to posting soon. And jdrama! I watched nothing these last four months 🥲
