Out Now - Book of the Snowstorm!
Tumblr media
I'm published again, it's a miracle!
Amazon Link (for ebook and physical copy -https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR1FYNQW?ref_=pe_93986420_774957520)
Payhip Link (alternative link for ebook - https://payhip.com/b/OIkPi)
Lots more about the book below:
The Book of the Snowstorm is just an amazing anthology with a lot of passion put into it from all the writers, so many of whom I've gladly written with in the past, and quite a few new voices who I'm sure will make lovely additions to this community that's been built up over the years. This book is like a portal to many, many areas of indie sci-fi/fantasy publishing, some of which from Arcbeatle Press, some of which leading elsewhere, and many of it somehow connecting to Doctor Who. Fortunately, despite this level of interconnectedness, this book works as an introduction to all these characters and concepts (and not all the stories feature pre-existing concepts).
Also, I wrote something! Jenny Over-There's Wonderful Life, featuring my favorite underdescribed grouch* - this story actually started off as a throwaway joke in a different holiday special that I'm still working on (it features at least three ghosts if you want a hint), but then the call for pitches came along and I sporadically decided to turn it into a full story. It almost definitely threw off my schedule, but it was worth it!
In short, please go buy this book! As an ebook, it's only $3 (which is very cheap considering there are at least 800 pages worth of writing in this thing), and again it's the debut of many new writers!

MCYT on Ao3 - April '24
The state of MCYT on Ao3, just for fun. Yes I do this every month, I like numbers.
Let's get into the spreadsheet!
Some notes:
Two new fandoms this month! Aimsey SMP and SOS SMP were both new to the sheet.
Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (764 of 879 are in spanish, from 751 last month), Tortillaland (110 of 116 are in spanish, from 109 last month), and QSMP (925 of 8,938 are in spanish, from 845 last month.)
QSMP also shows 48 fics in French, up from 47 last month, and 463 in Brasilian Portugese, up from 454 last month. While I did not check every language this month, I checked on the languages I knew had a fic in QSMP and we see 1 fic in Bahasa Malaysia, 1 fic in Dansk (Danish), 2 fic in Deutsch (German), 1 fic in Esperanto, 1 fic in Filipino, 5 works in European Portugese, 2 fics in Polski (Polish), 7 fics in Русский (Russian), 1 fic in Suomi (Finnish), 1 fic in Svenska (Swedish), 1 fic in Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), and 4 fics in 中文-普通话 國語 (Mandarin Chinese, I believe). While several 한국어 (Korean) speakers were recently added to the QSMP, there are currently no fics in 한글 (written Korean).
In the small and micro-sized fandoms, HBG continued to fluctuate— going up by 5 fics after going down by 7 last month. The fandom that saw the greatest increase was the Slimecicle Cinematic Universe, going up by 8, followed by Kaboodle with an increase of 7.
In the mid-sized fandoms, Aphmau continued to be outstanding with an increase of 37 fics, but the standout was actually Evolution SMP, with an increase of 38!
In the larger fandoms, nobody posted a decrease of fics, so we aren't at last month, but it's still a sea change from earlier in the year. Dream SMP posted an increase of only 113 fics, significantly above last month's -801, but still far below February's 591 and January's 918. QSMP also saw significantly lower numbers, potentially related to the semi-hiatus and business troubles they're having, as they only posted 443 fics, standing in contrast to February, when their increase of 729 was the single largest increase by a single mcyt fandom. Empires' increase of 151 beat last month's 142, 3rd Life's 553 beat last month's 398, and Hermitcraft's 805 was the single largest increase this month, beating last month's 628. Hermitcraft is still in that early-season boom, 3rd life got an april fools instalment, and we are starting to enter exchange season, so that might be contributing to the numbers posted. I'm gonna shoutout Lifesteal, which since breaking the 1000-fic mark in July of last year, has continued to just show steady increase month over month. They're coming up on the 2k mark soon!
Overall, minecraft did see the deletion wave continue, as they went down by 217— a significant drop, but still above last month's staggering drop of 1,555, a loss equal to many full fandoms. Video Blogging RPF as a whole saw an increase of 2,330, much increased from last month's overall increase of only 51 fics, but still reduced from both February's 3,513 and this time last year's 4,182.

Things that happen at home:
I had a very good birthday yesterday…went to a coin expo and geeked out with my dad, I bought a proof set of Irish and Norwegian currency (pre euro, nothing wrong with modern coins but it’s just neat to see what used to be minted) found a proof set of Vatican coins that were probably just novelty but it’s still cool (minted 1952)
There was a very nice gentleman who sold antique 925 silver jewelry that I bought a few sets of vintage clip on earrings from.
I’m going to pause, and preface this story with the universal truth that being patient and kind will pay off in the end.
Anyway, the first time I’m going through the jewelry that Very Nice Gentleman has to offer, it’s my first circuit of the whole expo, I want to budget accordingly, and there might be something that Pops Out to me later that I Just Have To Have. So I spend my first $70, circle around (I’ve been coming to this specific expo for about three years now so I recognize the vendors who have what I like) pick up my proof sets, and land back at Very Nice Gentleman’s booth.
I tell him straight up “Well, you guys definitely have the best jewelry selection in the whole expo.”
VNG: Oh, you should see the whole three boxes of stuff that I brought and haven’t even priced yet. I’ll sell you anything you want by weight.
Me: *spends the next hour helping an 80+ year old man sort literal sandwich bags full of antique silver jewelry, talking shit about living in New Mexico, and learning a fuck ton about Native American artist stamps, while his son (50s, economics professor in Fairbanks AK, talked shit about living in Alaska with him as well) checks on us periodically*
My dad, in the middle of all this: *catches my attention* Hey. Doin’ alright?
Me:…wanna see what your birthday present to me looks like?
My Dad: …yeah, alright. You like the same kind of stuff my mother did, so it’s at least going to be interesting. *proceeded to buy exactly one bracelet that was made out of “plantation 1948” silverware because “the only good thing that’s come out of the South in the last 50 years is their food. I hate the way they vote but good god they make some AWESOME ribs.”*
Me: *spends another 30 minutes sorting jewelry with VNG before birthday calls start coming in, I’m getting hungry, SO and mom and siblings all want to meet up, Dad is mia* hey, I need to check out or pay up, I’ve got my family wanting me, so I need to take off now.
VNG: Oh, yeah, let’s get you started then. *proceeds to ring up my purchases in the most painfully slow manner possible because he’s 80+ and all analog* (literally he had a calculator that printed out the receipts, it had a bunch of finger grime on the number keys, he’d clearly been using it for decades, honestly it was so awesome but super frustrating)
Me: *being patient, being nice and kind and friendly, regardless of the situation*
VNG: *rings me up, gives me my total, then WINKS and throws in a $50 pair of vintage clip-on, lapis lazuli with gold inlay earrings*
Me: *KARMA, BITCH! Be fucking nice to people All The Time Regardless of Circumstances!!!! VINDICATION!!!*
My Dad, after I found him again and told him the factual events: Sweet deal! Sometimes I’m actually glad when you don’t listen to me!
My dad’s advice to all of you would be “don’t ever say anything, at all if preferably, but only give yes or no answers to anyone who works in insurance or government.”

Metal and walnuts
Buddie, rated gen, 925 words
I saw this art by @andavs and their tag about how Buck would read random wikipedia articles to Eddie while he's trying to fall asleep and I thought
Omg yes he would and Eddie would complain but actually secretly love it and I immediately needed to write that out
Enjoy
“Please, Buck,” Eddie whines.
“No, wait Eds, this is really interesting! Listen!”
Eddie groans and presses his face into the pillow. They’ve been talking about a few different things – like the upcoming parent-teacher night – while they were getting into bed and Buck had suddenly grabbed his phone and started to indulge in one of his research sprees just as Eddie had turned off the light.
Eddie has no idea how in the world Buck had landed on this topic while discussing Christopher’s new teacher, and now it’s been five minutes of Buck talking about various space related facts which finally landed on the big question.
“It turns out that space does smell,” Buck reads to him, ”and our solar system has a very particular smell. This is likely the result of several factors, but all are clear: Our corner of the universe is kind of stinky.
“Can you imagine?” Buck asks and Eddie just groans and snuggles deeper into the pillow.
“No, I can’t,” Eddie answers. His voice being muffled by the pillow so much it’s almost not recognizable, doesn’t seem to deter Buck in the slightest from his mission to teach Eddie everything there is to know about the very important science of space odors.
“Oh here, they’re quoting an astronaut. He said that it smells metallic , sweet metallic, whatever that is supposed to mean.”
Eddie just grunts in response. Then Buck does this irritating thing where he’s still reading to him but only really saying every other word out loud. It always leaves Eddie in the funny position of trying to make any sense of Buck’s mumbling. He regularly comes to a completely different conclusion than whatever article Buck is presenting to him. But it’s kind of a fun game when he has the energy for it, which is not really the case tonight though.
Keep reading on AO3

Biggest thanks to the amazing @im-not-batman for the beta, you're the absolute best!
Here is the article Buck is reading in this fic

So @pacific-coast-hockey and I attended the live auction for the Cuda's ugly sweaters last night and man, it was extremely entertaining and well worth the price of admission (free). He got photos, and I think he's going to add them here, but I kept track of which jerseys went for what, and a few random notes. So here's my half!
IN ORDER:
Radim Šimek - $1400 - I've very rarely seen Simmer look that pleased by anything, and it was a genuine treat to see him smiling over the very active bidding war for his jersey
Tanner Kaspick - $750
Cole Cassels - $900
Leon Gawanke - $925 - his jersey went to someone holding up a Go Gawanke sign, which was very cute
Scott Sabourin - $1550 - I think there was some recency bias at play with the bidding here, given his fight and jazz hands on Friday night. He was not smiling the way the other guys were & Kasper and I were joking that he wanted to go HOME
Nathan Todd - $950 - that man has a very shiny bald head
Shakir Mukhamadullin - $1200 - he looked very adorably pleased by the bidding war and this total
Ozzy Wiesblatt - $1075
Magnus Chrona - $1050 - His jersey went to someone wearing his University of Denver hoodie and he looked extremely happy about it
Ethan Cardwell - $1000 - Guys, I cannot tell you how adorable Cardsy and every single thing he does are. Holding up his jersey to be auctioned was no exception
Brandon Coe - $850
Nikolai Knyzhov - $1050 - I have no notes here but please know I love Knyzy and would die for him
Daniil Gushchin - $950 - I'm genuinely surprised this didn't go higher? Also, as I type this he's not listed on the roster on the Cuda's website, but that doesn't mean anything. I hope. 😬
Bradley Marek - $850
Bradley Kemp - $900 - he looked quietly pleased at this and I'm more than a little shocked that his jersey went for more than Coe's
Valtteri Pulli - $850
Eetu Mäkiniemi - $900 - how on Earth did his jersey not go for more? It's an enteral mystery
Bordy - $1900 - he did this very cute thing where he gestured to go on, go on when it looked like this bidding was stalling at around, like, $1200. It went to the female half of the eternally drunk Michigan fan duo, who was absolutely not going to be outbid by anyone, not even God himself
Kyle Rau - $750 - I felt bad for him following Bordy, but honestly, $750 isn't bad considering that he uhhhhh signed with the Cuda, like, two days ago or whatever
Artem Guryev Arty Party - $950
With the (I think) $650 that Frenzy's jersey went for, the Cuda raised an awesome $21,400 for Working Partnerships USA, along with whatever they got for chuck-a-puck and 3.147 stuffed animals (our group contributed, like, 12 of those, go team us!)
All in all, an excellent weekend for the Cuda :)

Two-sided Hekate devotional talisman featuring an image of Hekate carrying two torches on the front and a Tudor rose on the back. This image represents Hekate as a Gnostic hyper-cosmic goddess, a salvific force both personal and universal.
Originally commissioned by Chirotus Infinitum, the Sorcerer Poet, as a part of his personal syncretic work and made available to all through his generosity.
* Made of solid .925 sterling silver or shibuichi (an art metal alloy made of 3:1 copper:silver), yellow brass, or bronze.
* Available as a coin, with an upeye for use as a pendant, or with three jump rings for use in a rosary-style necklace.
Each piece is hand-made to order in my home studio, with unique variations and defects as a result of the fabrication and casting process.

The Book of the Snowstorm – Readthrough/Review Part 7
Framing Story (Scenes 16-18)
Did that just imply… Urizen was God. Like the ‘God’ mentioned by the Toymaker in the Giggle was actually Urizen (and thus Rassilon)? Also a Church on Ruby Road reference with the goblin. I like Rich’s little section, and in general I’m curious as to how the events in the 925 Universe tie to the Snowstorm in the library and how the mysterious-99-per-cent-sure-he’s-not-Auteur stranger factors into it, if they do at all.
The God Who Came For Christmas
Hello again FASA War Chief. The glimpse into the Archon’s perception of one another was fascinating and I think I get what it’s trying to do. Imply the FASA War Chief is a Self-Hypnotised Master trying to disguise. Either way, fun little piece even if (IIRC) it’s a sequel to a DW RPG story that I have not seen.
Presents
Interesting piece. The Fantastic Realm is an interesting setting and I like the use of comic book terminology alongside more DWEU concepts. As well as the general exploration of the infinitely variable constantly resetting characters of comic books. Captain America, or well… Captain Yank, was a good choice of character for that IMO and I appreciated the references to other suspiciously similar substitutes for Marvel’s other cast members.
The Cathedral of Winter
Ok so first of all, Abraytha is really fun, and I appreciate his general upbeat demeanour and sense of adventure and fun. Also his aesthetic is cool. The Archons of Winter were really funny, and have similarly funny implications for their temporal counterparts (In that a Multiversal visitor with the appropriate equipment could in theory bypass their defences almost as easily as Abraytha did to the Archons of Winter). The cultural differences between Xiantio and Abraytha were also really fun. Aesthetic was great too, just the general winter theming. (Also Lotto cameo?????)

My very brief thoughts on each story in "The Book of the Snowstorm"
My very brief thoughts on each story in "The Book of the Snowstorm" (other than the ones which I wrote, of course):
Framing Sequence by Aristide Twain
This is a brilliant way to present the various stories within the overarching narrative, and is fantastically successful at being a compelling story in its own right and at tying the whole book together into a proper Coloth novel. The characters, both pre-existing and new, are all very enjoyable, and the dynamics between those stuck in the Library and between Coloth, Rich, and the Scotland division of the M.F.S. are extremely fun. The Deadline and Roarke are fantastic creations, as well.
"Magic Bird of Fire" by Micah K. Spurling
A very lovely story which does a fantastic job making its characters feel like thoroughly real people. The direct prose style is a perfect match for the personality of the lead character (which comes across very succesfully) and the nature of the events depicted, and there are some very evocative descriptive passages throughout. The emotional beats are well-handled and very effective.
"The Dinosaur in the Snow" by Thien Valdram
The relationship between Rosanna and Tirion is very enjoyable, and the story presents a lot of fascinating and well-constructed worldbuilding. The use of Los in a Third Universe context is fun to see, and the story handles it very well.
"Neither Warrior or Thinker" by Katherine MacEachern
A very sweet vignette which does a great job expanding on the close relationship between Coloth, Maritsa, and Callum and delving into some well-thought-out, backstory-influenced character exploration for each of the trio.
"Jenny Over-There's Wonderful Life" by Callum Phillpott
As is the nature of the 925-Universe stories, this is incredibly funny, deriving a lot of very clever comedy from reinterpreting various elements of pop-culture through the unique satirical humor-style of the series - in this particular case, the trappings of It's a Wonderful Life. The characters are, as ever, very compelling beyond their initial jokes - Gabe is a very fun presence throughout.
"The Claus-Rosen Bridge" by Ostara Gale and Elodie Christian
A delightfully fun romp through various aspects of the winter holidays. In addition to being great fun, it's brimming with ideas, and introduces a variety of new characters and concepts which make for great additions to the ever-expanding worlds of the Third Universe and the Library setting in particular. And it makes great use of Auteur as a presence lurking in the margins and altering things.
"Still Proceeding" by Charles E.P. Murphy
An enjoyable outing for the SIGNET team, with an appropriately-holiday-themed incident for them to investigate and a clever sci-fi recreation of the nativity story at its center. Perkins' joy at seeing real aliens manages to be both funny and touching, as does much of the rest of the story.
"Abstract Tales" by me
Not going to review this, obviously, but perhaps I could give some thoughts from a having-written-it perspective:
The framing sequence: I didn't originally intend to write a mini-anthology inside of an anthology, but I couldn't pick between the various ideas I'd had, and eventually decided to write all of them. My plan was to use every Abstract thus far established, and I believe I succeeded in doing so: The Illumination and the Misfortune (and Chaos) from Benj Christensen's The Chronicles of Jenny Everywhere, the Luminance from Benj Christensen's The Jenny Everywhere Roleplaying Game, the Life from my The Disappearance of Jenny Everywhere (mentioned there, but making her first appearance here), the Knowledge from Jeanne Morningstar's The Hermetic Garbage of Jenny Everywhere, the Terror from Aristide Twain's Jenny Everywhere in the House of Terror, the Remembrance (created by Aristide) and the Oblivion from my Remember, and the Luxuriance, who was created by Aristide but had never appeared in anything until now.
The first story: I thought it would be fun if there was a side-story to the Copper-Colored Cupids 2023 Christmas serial in Snowstorm, showing the effect of Tarsa's disappearance on a different section of her creations - but due to various delays, the 2023 Christmas serial doesn't actually exist yet, so I suppose it will only become a side-story retroactively. I am amused by the fact that, unless I'm forgetting something, the first pre-established Copper-Colored Cupids characters to appear in print, in the flesh rather than as mentions, are now the three wacky wild-west-outlaw toys who made a brief appearance in one of my earliest stories and were never seen again until now.
The second story: I wanted to give the Caradans a proper debut and establish some worldbuilding about their planet, since their previous appearances have mostly been brief mentions. My intent was to tie together the various elements seen in those previous appearances, as well as some details which will be mentioned in [REDACTED FUTURE STORY] by [REDACTED]. The Caradans were notably previously seen fighting the Cyberons, which I naturally can't use anymore, so it was fun to slot the Mecharons - my cookie-themed gag-cyborgs from "The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids" - into their narrative role in one of the "nightmares", since the name originated as my briefly-serious proposal for a Cyberon replacement until I realised that it sounded like 'macaron'.
The third story: A tribute to Joe Macaré and Nelson Evergreen's Jenny Everywhere comics. The present-tense style was my attempt to translate the energetic pace of the comics into prose. The Mecharons are in this one, too, because cyborg conquerors suited the format and I figured I may as well use the same ones and have a connection between two of the stories.
"The Ties that Bind" by Lena Mactíre
A well-constructed portrayal of a less-than-pleasant holiday gathering, and the elements that serve to improve it. The various characters depicted ring very true to life, and the protagonists are very likeable.
"A Buggy Little Holiday" by James Wylder
I hadn't read any Starlight Ranger stories prior to this, but this has definitely interested me. Cleo Mentia is an extremely fun protagonist, and the structure of the series seems like a compelling and successfully-constructed vehicle for episodic stories. The story is very funny, and James Wylder's distinctive writing style is as enjoyable as ever.
"The Two Auteurs" by Aristide Twain
Absolutely brilliant prose, which is to be expected from Aristide, and a wonderful exploration of Auteur's character enabled by the meeting between his past and current selves, and expressed through the symbolic world of the mind-battle. And full of very well-constructed and -presented worldbuilding, as well.
"Trauma and Tinsel" by James Hornby
A sweet story returning to the ever-enjoyable setting of Dionus's clinic on Gulliver's Rest, with great character-work and a touching ending that's very fitting for a holiday special.
"Love and War" by Aristide Twain
(Potential bias disclaimer: I wrote the extract from Sideridis's diary, but that doesn't really factor into my review of the rest of the story) This has a delightful, intensely metafictional, academic style, filled with reams of brilliant worldbuilding. It does a wonderful job exploring the fundamental, unchanging mindsets of the Sun Builders through a variety of perspectives, and continuing to expand the Morning Star into an ever-more-fascinatingly-detailed setting. The central plotline is extremely compelling, and Dionus and Susit's story ends up being very touching.
"The Goblin, the Witch, and the Kitchen Sink" by Ismaeel Clarke
A delightful and very funny story with an extremely fun style which draws brilliantly from early-20th-century children's fantasy literature, featuring a variety of whimsical and very enjoyable characters, an energetic central plot, and a very sweet ending.
"The Revelry of the Redacted" by Ryan Fogarty
An effective story of hope during war, featuring some wonderfully inventive worldbuilding and a compelling cast of characters. The Yule Bearers are great here, and the Christmas carols with altered lyrics are a fun touch.
"The God Who Came for Christmas" by Aristide Twain
A lovely little tale which provides a very effective epilogue to the FASA roleplaying story to which it is a sequel, as well as a wonderful exploration of its two central characters, whose distinct voices and dynamic make for a great two-handed story.
"Presents" by Erika de Atayde
This is an extremely inventive story, playing on elements of the history of comic book superheroes and the tropes found in their stories to tell a very effective and touching tale with an intriguing setting.
"The Cathedral of Winter" by Ostara Gale
An adventure story taking place in a very fun setting (I love the snow-themed variant of the Morning Star) and introducing a variety of very compelling new characters and ideas. Abraytha and Xiantio are very likeable protagonists, and the Katioka is a fun central element.
"Just Dropping In" by Scott Sanford
A very fun tale - Scott Sanford demonstrates his usual skill at writing in-medias-res vignettes, deftly weaving in a variety of elements of an in-progress Jenny adventure. Jenny's first-person perspective is well-handled, and as usual the Parallax-Jenny is delightful.
"Conspiracy-1263 and the Christmas Conspiracy" by Peter Guy
(Potential bias disclaimer: for obvious reasons I am probably biased towards Cupids stories in general) A fantastic use of the Cupids and their world, with a lot of great character details, unique ideas, and very funny moments, and a wonderful grasp of the varied characters' personalities and how they might respond to the central crisis. The story explores a variety of different perspectives, all of which are extremely well-handled, and the central crisis in itself is a great idea for an inciting incident with a lot of well-realised potential.
"Our Bleak Midwinter" by Theta Mandel
An extremely compelling and very touching story with very well-handled and well-thought-out central themes and a wonderful talent for character- and world-building. Abby and her family are very believably-depicted, and the backstory related by Abby's grandmother and the influence of its ideas on her struggle against the harmful megacorporation is a particularly effective element.
"The Gift of the Renegades" by James Wylder
A very enjoyable semi-sequel to 'And Today, You', bringing back some of the fun character dynamics and humor of that novel and making for a delightful holiday special. Jhe Sang Mi remains an extremely likeable central character, and Lady Aesc and Blanche are as fun as ever.
"The First Noel" by Nate Bumber
A fantastic story which makes great use of the Borgesian-infinite-library-as-a-recurring-sci-fantasy-setting concept which is the basis of the Library - further exploring the idea of a culture built on finding valid books from among the Library's unending collection. The concepts of ancestrally-inherited journeys to distant shelves, veins of validity, and using the books themselves to find other areas to search are all brilliant.
"Our Finest Gifts We Bring" by various
It's always great fun to see Aristide's brilliant take on the Consistency Imperium, and this is a very good introductory segment for establishing the central idea of the collaborative story.
This has a very enjoyably poetic style, and Urizen being gifted an hourglass and beginning to ponder the idea of time is a great concept.
Interesting worldbuilding about Dionus and Gulliver's Rest, conveyed through well-crafted dialogue.
Abraytha and the Katioka continue to be very compelling central concepts, and the central gift idea is a fun one.
Very fun dialogue between the central characters, and their initial befuddlement and then fondness for the toy pony is quite good.
It's great to see the Medic in a solo role - her central concept lends itself very well to carrying stories on its own, and this is a very fun use of that concept and another great idea for a gift.
A very funny one, featuring a gift that the central characters can't actually use, which is another fun variation on the concept.
Another great use of the Library, and some interesting worldbuilding about Gabriel.
(I wrote this one, so fun fact instead of review:) Several months ago I showed Aristide a little green-clothed figurine holding a mushroom which I'd found at a thrift shop, and he jokingly suggested that it might be competition for the Toadstool Salesman, which is what the "little green gnome hawking mushrooms" seen arguing with the Salesman in this one is obscurely referencing.
A very lovely epilogue to "The God Who Came For Christmas", continuing the extremely effective characterisation and dynamic seen in the earlier story.
A touching wintertime scene - it's very nice to see the ever-likeable PROBE team again, and to know that they're still able to make appearances even though their home series has been snatched away by the Big Bad Villains.
(I wrote this one, so fun fact:) The descriptions of the Blue Feather's various failed attempts at investigating the parcel are written to mimic the style of the descriptions of Pessimist's attempts to participate in winter activities in my 2019 holiday vignette, "Ally Builds a Snowman".
A lovely Christmas vignette, with very good character interactions between Cwej and Vicky, and well-crafted dialogue.
A pitch-perfect impression of the style of the Winnie-the-Pooh books, and a very lovely story told in that style.
A very effective and touching scene of Horatio Topper finally reuniting, at least to some extent, with his Lady in White.
A fun scene of Lotto at home, giving an enticing look into further adventures of Lotto and Mae beyond "The Claus-Rosen Bridge"
The appearance of a younger Sang Mi and Sang Eun is very fun, and the bickering between the disguised Aesc and Blanche is quite funny
This has a very fun, whimsically-chaotic style, and has succesfully caused me to want to read about further adventures in this world, despite the characters' concerns.
A wonderful use of Sun Builder lore, as is to be expected from Aristide, and a very enjoyable dynamic between Monk and the Corsair Queen.
A very cleverly humorous vignette with a fun idea for a central gift (or not a gift, perhaps).
A touching vignette starring an intriguing central character with a fun concept.
Martin and Maurice are as endearing as ever, and Lucy is certainly fun.
A delightfully silly story, and very succesfully so.
(I wrote this one, so fun fact:) Here are the various parts of the Multiverse which I was intending to reference, though it's not set in stone, and one could theoretically interpret some of the references as referring to other things: A woman in a scarf and goggles (Jenny Everywhere), copper robots (The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids), a firmament (10,000 Dawns), a timeship (the Evil Renegade), superheroes (The Cosmic Beholder), spaceships (Starcatcher), songs of war (WARSONG), skeletons (Auteur), nightclubs (Name's Not Down), men in grey (The 925 Universe), abstract families (The Abstracts), adventurous ducks (certain residents of the Prime Universe), ancient mammoths (the Original Mammoths), animated bunnies (Bunny Everyhare), paradox cults (Faction Paradox), emerald cities (Oz), haunted mansions (a place to which foolish mortals are welcomed), strange and wonderful houses (Our Strange and Wonderful House), talking cactuses (Coloth), teenage scientists (Scott Sanford's Jenny stories), blond-haired clones (Cwej)
A beautiful ending-scene which finishes the story on some very touching sentiments.

Things that keep me awake at night #925:
A Scoobynatural-esque crossover between SPN and the Muppets.
I'm thinking, since Crowley wasn't in Scoobynatural, it is now our king's turn to be accidentally sucked into a bizarre universe where, rather than being a cartoon, everyone is a Muppet. Including a Muppet Sam and Muppet Dean. Naturally, Crowley is horrified, and even more so when he meets Castiel, Muppet of the Lord. Bonus points if Crowley is the only human around, like the special guests on the Muppet Show. Even better, if Muppet TFW break into song every five minutes.
When Crowley resolves whatever problem sent him there and gets back home - let's face it, he was probably cursed by Rowena, or better yet, she cast a "protection" spell on him that went horribly wrong and this is how he survives the S12 finale - he ends up being so happy to see the REAL Team Free Will that all of them, Cas included, test him to see if he's still a demon (just like how Bobby splashed Dean with holy water when Cas pulled him out of Hell).

Belong To Him Again
Belong To Him Again https://ift.tt/rADBMsE by ohthedrarrydrabbles (ohthedrarry) His laugh was her favorite sound. Merry Christmas (it is Christmas)
This year (which is 2023 because it is still December and Christmas) I'm pleased to bring you a brand new retelling of the underloved, underappreciated, and underadapted Charles Dickens Masterpiece, A Christmas Carol starring our favourite Man in Grey, who will finally be confronted with his past, forced to see his present with clarity, and learn to change for the better lest he get murdered by a skeleton ghost. So, turn off your lights, fill up a mug with boiling water, and enjoy the 100% normal festivities!
Tumblr media
Huh… that's odd… when the wonderful @aristidetwain sent over this art, I don't remember there being a Lizard in it… Probably just a rendering issue or something, Discord can be a bit weird about file compression sometimes.

Captain Syverson x Ivy Sullivan (an oblivious one shot)
Summary: Years have gone by. How are Sy, Ivy and four beautiful Syverson girls??
Wordcount: 925
Warnings: None
masterlist // oblivious masterlist
Three years ago, Ivy gave birth to a little girl they named Grace. Grace Syverson was a little mini Ivy and the older she got, the more she resembled her mother.
It hadn’t been an easy pregnancy, as it was rough on Ivy. It pained Sy to see her like that. Sure, he had his worries, his sorrows about it, however he swallowed them because he needed to be strong for Ivy. Strong for his family.
Right after she gave birth to Grace, the feared post party depression didn’t happen. She didn’t run away, like she was so afraid of. She loved the little girl with all her heart, just like the girls all adored Grace and helped out the best they could. It eased Sy’s mind, to see all of his girls so helpful.
But the truth be told: he had been officially outnumbered by five sassy ladies. With Ivy as the queen of sass, Erin a close second and Aurora and Clover are learning quickly. And little Grace is only three years of age and has the judgmental eyebrow raise and purse of her lips totally mastered. She takes after her mom completely.
There was just one major difference between Grace and her sisters. While Erin, Aurora and Clover were sassy, they knew exactly when to behave and when to have respect for authority.
Grace not so much.
And it was clear Ivy didn’t exactly blame her, because the women working at the Pre-K were pretty annoying and had their incapable moments, but Sy kept telling her they needed to tell Grace how to behave, even when she doesn’t agree with something.
But it was so hard to tell that girl off, especially when she’s so darling and cute. Her large brown eyes, her pout and the sweet little waves in her hair. It’s also like Ivy makes his job as being a disciplinarian a whole lot harder, because she dresses Grace in the most adorable dresses, with matching shoes and pigtails.
She does it on purpose, he just knows it.
After a long day of hard work in the sun and a wonderful dinner made by Erin and Aurora, it’s time to go to sleep. The young ones were already put to bed, but after the tiring day he had, Sy is ready to call it quits not long after them.
‘I’m really looking forward to go to the beach tomorrow,’ Ivy says, as she changes into something more comfortable for the night.
Sy worried about having a sixteen year old as the oldest and a three year old as the youngest, however that was proven to be a useless fear. Erin loved being with her family and Grace adored the presence of her older sisters. ‘Me too,’ he said, already in bed in just his boxers. ‘I take it I have bag sitting duty.’
Ivy smiles and he falls in love all over again. ‘Yes, you do,’ she tells him. ‘Duh.’ She crawls underneath the blankets with him and presses a kiss on his lips. ‘Everything is packed and ready to go?’ Ivy double checks.
He nods. ‘Darlin’, I’ve been in the military long enough to have excellent packing skills.’
‘Hm,’ she says, appearing unimpressed, though it’s just her way of teasing him.
Thank the universe for AC, because despite it being murdering hot outside, she still wants to curl up against him. ‘Good night, cappie.’
Years have gone by and finally—finally—he can accept the horrendous nickname. ‘Good night,’ he says, after pressing a sweet kiss on her forehead.
She’s quick to drift asleep. Just like anyone could’ve expected from her, she’s a rowdy sleeper, constantly twisting and turning, kicking him in his sleep. It’s funny really how she only does that around him. When Grace was a baby and slept in between them, Ivy moved so little, Sy checked her pulse on occasion, just to be sure she was still among them.
When Sy is finally entering dreamland, he hears the door open. Soft little footsteps make their way over to his side of the bed. ‘Papa,’ Grace whispers. Sy and Ivy have no clue why she calls him papa, while the other girls call him dad, but it’s an adorable trait. ‘You up?’
‘Yes, I’m up. What’s wrong, angel?’
‘Can’t sleep.’
He sighs. ‘Why not?’
She leans closer to his ear. ‘I’m scared.’
With one arm he hoists her up in the bed and pulls her in a safe embrace. ‘I’ll protect you,’ he tells her. ‘Papa always protects you, right?’
‘Right?’
Ivy turns to her side, a little bit awake and smiles. ‘Hi darling,’ she says, placing her hand on Grace’s back, who’s curled up on Sy’s chest. She gives the little girl a kiss on her temple, before placing her head on Sy’s shoulder. ‘Scared?’
‘Yes mommy.’
‘I’m so sorry,’ she whispers. ’Good thing papa’s here to protect you.’
‘Papa always protects me,’ Grace whispers, before she drifts off to sleep, as she feels one hundred percent safe in the presence of her parents.
’She’s so cute,’ Ivy admits. ‘Can’t believe we made her.’
‘One hundred percent me,’ Sy chuckles, though it’s super obvious the little girl totally takes after her mother. The only thing Grace inherited from her dad, is the slight waves in her hair, but other than that: Grace is miniature version of Ivy.
‘Yeah right,’ Ivy mutters, too tired to put up a fight. She places her head on his shoulder and whispers: ‘Good night, my big idiot.’
‘Shut up.’
‘Bye.’

Masterlist
This is every item Panda has written since joining Tumblr*. Some exceptions have been made. This does not include my list of WIPs, because we’d be here forever, and you would be mad at me.** Edits will be made as necessary…when I remember.
If you’d like to see Panda’s original ideas, including OCs, Tickles, and most of the novels I’ve been poking on and off, follow me!
(*Split into separate posts because Tumblr hates commentary. >-<)
(**…Would you guys be interested in seeing my WIPs? Or having access to them in some capacity?)
(Sorted by Fandom, A-Z)
Among Us
Cargo Transfer (2020-)—Yes, despite appearances, this is a story based on Among Us. It’s a strange mix of universes, but I did have fun with it. I was excited to write a mystery or two.
[Technically Ao3 Exclusive!]
Family, Friends, Romance, and Tickles; Minor Violence and Monsters
            Current Word Count: 3,605
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Avengers
Not-So-Close Shave (2019)—Uh, yeah, that’s the only one. Oops. I wrote this for Squealing Santa that year. It’s short and sweet, but I admit I remember struggling with it.
Light Romance and Tickles
Word Count: 828
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Boku no Hero Academia
Another Year Over (2020)—This was a Squealing Santa story. It’s kind of sad, but I do love the emotions in it. Plus some unique interactions that I don’t write much.
[Ao3]
Processing Grief and Just a Few Tickles
Word Count: 4,812
Birds of a Feather (2023)—This was my most recent commission; it’s been a while since I’ve written for Denki, and I had a lot of fun working him into my AU’s dynamics.
[Ao3]
Instructional Tickle Torture with sneaky OC cameos.
Word Count: 4,186
Cackle Lantern (2022)—A sneaky Halloween idea I suddenly had one day. Secretly a spin-off of one of Ro’s stories. >w<
[Ao3]
Soft Romance and a lot of Tickles.
Word Count: 1,495
Crime Doesn’t Pay, Kids (2019-2023)—My first Hawks story! Also featuring most of my Hero Academia OCs. I love their little Quirks, plus the other scenes I still have planned for them.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Light Tickle Torture and some Combat
Word Count: 7,054
Fight Scene (2020)—Short and Sweet. >w< I wrote this after Chapter 266 of the manga. If you know, you know.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Play-fights and Friendly Teasing
Word Count: 925
Fireball (2019)—A little Quirk concept I used to have. I thought I could make a story out of it, and maybe I still could, but I don’t think it’d be much fun.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
No Tickles… TwT
Word Count: 1,261
For Future Reference (2021)—Might be one of my favorite Ko-fi pieces. Not technically a commission (Or maybe I forgot) but it was a very kind donation from a friend!
[Ao3]
Sappy Romance and some more Intimate sort of Tickles
Word Count: 3,000
From Dust to Dust (2020-)—A character study/AU for Shigaraki’s life if someone had been there when he needed them. I really do love this one and where it’s going.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Angst and Heavy Emotions. No Focus for Tickles.
Current Word Count: 3,430
Get Tased (2017)—One of my first Hero Academia stories! Somehow Denki’s powers still aren’t used in enough tickle scenes.
[Ao3]
Sneak Attacks and Revenge Tickles
Word Count: 2,597
Good Night, Deku (2017)—My very first Hero Academia story; I think I wrote it right after seeing Season 1.
Deescalating from Nightmares and Light Tickles
Word Count: 1,452
How to Stop a Quirk (2019-)—I haven’t forgotten; please don’t be mad. T~T Nearly all of my Hero Academia stories feed back into this AU somehow.
[Ao3]
Scientific Tickles and Varying Levels of Friendly Tickle Torture
Current Word Count: 38,927
Just Joking Around (2019)—I don’t think I’ve seen Ms. Joke in many stories. Not that I remember, anyway. So writing this was really fun. There is a sequel no one asked for in the pile.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Self-Doubt and Combat, with teasy Tickles.
Word Count: 2,733
Katsukisses (2022)—This was about the time I started actively playing with characters’ genders, and I’ve loved it ever since. >w< Bakugou in makeup just feels right.
[Ao3]
Lots of Tickly Kisses, mostly Platonic but there’s a little Queer-Platonic/Romantic in there.
Word Count: 3,772
Kiss and Don’t Tell (2020-)—The only time I’ve really written a hypnosis-type of story; plus he feels bad about it the entire time. Part of me is still thinking about the final chapter.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Hypnosis Tickles and Self-esteem conflict. Minor Sads.
Current Word Count: 2,950
The Missing Pages (2020-)—Some fun little scenes that happen around and between the experiments in How to Stop a Quirk. There’s a little collection by the same name!
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
A Bunch of Dorks Goofing Off. Tickles, Cuddles and everything in between
Current Word Count: 9,563
No Flash Photography (2021)—The first time I’ve gotten to write a spiritual sequel. >w< I’m grateful every day Ro gave me their blessing.
[Ao3]
Sneaky bets, Chess imagery, and Tickle Fights
Word Count: 2,526
Peaches and Scream (2020)—I admit I headcanon a sort of sibling-adjacent relationship between Bakugou and Yaoyorozu, so here’s a little pile of scenes and conversations they have.
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Gender Exploration, Characters Goofing around, Not Many Tickles
Word Count: 1,923
Secret Tunnel (2022)—Through the mountain… >w< Just a simple little thing I wrote for a silly idea I had.
[Ao3]
Claustrophobia and Tickles
Word Count: 1,755
Shadow Tag (2022)—A mini commission for a Flame friend. >w< I definitely owe Kuroiro more attention.
[Ao3]
Revelry in the Dark. And Tickles
Word Count: 992
Sunkissed (2023)—Yes, I maintain that I finished this before midnight. This was my most recent Squealing Santa story, and I kinda loved writing someone who loves being tickled without being too teasy about it.
[Ao3]
Childhood Trauma and Being Stuck Watching a Tickle Scene with Loved Ones. So, yeah, Tickles. >w< (Free Cookies if you know what story that comic is referencing)
Word Count: 3,778
Test of Resilience (2017)—Fun fact, at the time of writing this, part of me secretly shipped Shinsou and Tetsutetsu.
[Ao3]
Workout Bros and Endurance Tickles.
Word Count: 1,707
You Put the Spark to the Flame (2021)—Turns out most of my Squealing Santa stories were for Hero Academia. This was a pretty fun dynamic to write. ^w^

Zombie Killing 101 (2021)—Based on a single throwaway shot during the School Festival. If you know, you know.

Word Count: 1,473
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friday Night Funkin’ (Almost forgot this one. >-<)
Crossfire (2021)—The first FNF story! My AU essentially makes everyone into some level of demon or supernatural being. Thanx to @cutesmokes for yelling about FNF at the time.
[Ao3]
Gun Violence and Demon Magic; Just a Little Tickle Torture.
Word Count: 5,462
Little Brothers’ Rights (2022)—I love Garcello so much. >w< He’s a softie.
[Ao3]
Big Brother Garcy and Tickle Fights, Mentions of PTSD
Word Count: 4,818
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Backstab! (2022)—Writing Theseus is hilarious. And difficult. But hilarious. I should have made this a tickle fight… >-<
[Ao3]
God Sanctioned Tickle Attacks
Word Count: 1,296
Butterfly Kisses (2020)—The first Hades story I ever wrote. I hadn’t even beaten Elysium yet. I was so young. >w< I still think it’s pretty cute.
[Ao3]
Minor Violence and Magic Tickles
Word Count: 1,234 <Achievement Get!>
Hot Foot (2021)—This was written for a friend on Discord at the time. His idea was too good to pass up. >w<
[Ao3]
Someone in a Massive Lee Mood. And Denial About It. Sparring and Tickles.

[Ao3]
Educational Tickles and A Couple That Has a Room, but the Kid Won’t Leave
Word Count: 1,882
Of an Amber Autumnal (2021)—A mini exploration of a headcanon regarding Zagreus’ powers. I think it’s just pretty cute. >w<
[Ao3 Exclusive!]
Flashbacks and Family. Tickles Aren’t a Focus
Word Count: 2,201
Picture Book (2023)—A late birthday gift for a Discord friend. I like the idea of this AU a lot, actually. ^w^
A Little Embarrassment and Tickle Torture Between Friends
Word Count: 2,065
Sleep is for the-- (2021)—I’m pretty sure this was also written to fluster the Discord friends back in the day. >w< Some more Ler Hypnos would definitely be interesting.
[Ao3]
Wake-Up Tickles. A Little Brother Being a Brat
Word Count: 1,066
Song of Merriment (2020)—That thing I said about Ler Orpheus kinda just applies to Orpheus in general. I kind of love the poor guy. >w<
[Ao3]
Sort of Cheer-Up Tickles. Characters Just Being Goofs.
Word Count: 1,569
Submerged Foliage (2021)—I like writing love, okay? >w< Soft, cuddly nonsense that I don’t have. TwT

Collared (2017)—A short scene for a friend. Definitely something I loved at the time.
It’s a Little Spicy, I Guess; Some Bondage and Tickles, a little Romance
Word Count: 675
The First Fox Hunt (2017)—An AU based on another set of RPs I did with birb friend. >w< Probably the only time I’ve written Bokuto.
An Amateur Thief Getting Teased by a Security Guard
Word Count: 3,912
In a Pinch (2018)—The Rough Crows AU! Set around/before the season 1 finale, I think. Hard to say.
[Ao3]
Minor Sads. Some Gentle Tickle Torture.
Word Count: 2,034
Rough Crows Have Soft Feathers (2020)—Tsukishima’s initiation into the team’s little sleepover games. >w< Technically commissioned by a friend to help round out the collection and tie up the cliffhanger left in a previous story.
[Ao3]
Some Playful Tickle Torture.

Bonding with Teammates through Tickle Torture
Word Count: 5,969
~~~~~~~~~~~
Iron Man
The Mechanic Returns (2013)—This one gets to be in the Masterlist because I still like it. Keep the Time Travel Disclaimer in mind if you want to talk about it. Yes, I did start writing this within hours of seeing Iron Man 3. >w<
[Ao3] [Original]
Teasing, Tickle Fights, and Criticizing a Child’s Ballistic Weaponry
Word Count: 2,583
