omg i just read the 5th chapter of your fic and i wanted to say that i LOVE it!!!
So i saw your post abt it yesterday and started reading at like midnight and i can not get enough!! Good thing it's a tuesday so i didn't have to wait long for an update hh
I love the way you write katie and how she feels to me like a real person, i know you said that at first many people would think that she's an annoying bossy teenage girl, but also, i've been there!! i was also the teenage girl who hated the troublemakers and was scared of breaking the rules (except i couldn't yell at them)
This is just my personal opinion but her bonding moments with the apollo cabin were for sure my favourite scenes, i just love them in general and i get do excited seeing katie interact with one of them!! i'm trying not to spoil here for future readers but the beach scene was so immaculate and definitely in my top 3!! on the other hand, the infirmary scene,...
I know this story is like a tratie endgame, but at several moments i was sooo convinced that katie's gonna have a thing or a moment with someone (which proved *mostly* wrong hh) so i'm still waiting to see how this plays out
Back to me saying how real these relationships are, i love how you convey all these complexities and emotions between campers, while also not forgetting that they're still SOOO young and most of them immature and WILL get into petty fights, but even then, there's still this sense of unity between them, or a camaraderie built by their shared experience (and trauma lol)
i'm looking forward to seeing how the demeter arc is gonna play out, but also what happened after the bday party (again trying not to spoil) and how idk i'm feeling there is some tension and doubt abt some campers' loyalties and their behaviour (katie would kill me for that). I feel like you've been building up for them in the last chapter so i can't wait for everything to blow up in our faces!!
Anyways this is getting pretty, and i still have soooo many stuff i have not mentioned (the last chapter actually brought me to tears, both happy and sad, and i could not be more glad about it) so sorry for clogging up your inbox, but i'm like very insane abt your fic so i had to scream at you about it!!

first of all, thank you for the love re katie! i was sooo worried at first that she would initially come off too unlikeable, but i have been there too and it was important for me to get annoying bossy girl representation (don't worry, i couldn't yell at the troublemakers either)
i also adore the apollo cabin and i promise there is more to come with the apollo kids! one apollo kid in particlar (not named for the Mystery, although it might be pretty obvious who) is about to become a lot more prominent in katie's life and he is genuinely one of my favourite characters in the whole fic so i am so excited to see what you think of him!! im so glad you liked the beach scene! it's also one of my favourite scenes and its so lovely to hear that it resonates!! the infirmary scene...unfortunatrly there might be more where that is coming from :'( the apollo cabin in the pjo series are so deeply tragic and so personal to me
for now my lips are locked on any other potential romances.... i will just say that although it is tratie endgame there will be lots of twists and turns in getting there....
im so glad that the relationships are coming through as authentic!! i've always been a more character/relationship driven writer and through the process of writing this fic these characters and their friendships and bonds have become so real to me and you liking the way i portray their relationships (in all their immature, petty, trauma bonded glory) genuinely means the world to me <33
LMAO katie would kill you for that but also i fullheartedly agree with you. at this point, tensions are high and there is still a Lot to come: at the end of the day, they're children tryint to deal with these incredibly adult things and the culmination of all this tension is almost inevitable at this point

It’s always an absolute pleasure sharing tratie headcanons so thank you so much for asking ❤❤❤
This is kind of an obvious one because it appears basically in every fic, but Travis calls Katie by all sort of nicknames except for her real name: Kit-Kat, Katie-Kat, Kitty-Kat, Katie-Kates, Katie-Cakes, Cupkate, Kitty. She complains at first but then she grows fond of them and gets sad when he just calls her “Katie”.
There is a strawberry field behind the Stoll’s house in Ithaca, NY, so strawberries remind Travis of home. He always steals them from the fields at CHB, but only when Katie is there, because it’s so much fun to get yelled by her. And then when they start dating, he also steals kisses from her while he’s there.
Travis steals all sorts of stuff from her —chapsticks, scrunchies, bracelets— and then toys with them between his fingers during dinner. It always makes her stand up from her table and go to his, yelling at him and pointing at him with an accusing finger. Everyone gets out of her way because no one likes to mess with an angry child of Demeter, except for Travis Stoll
He also steals her flower crowns, but she never takes those back from him. She says that it’s because it’s just easier to make another one, but the truth is she thinks they look adorable on his curly head.
The Stolls have magical backpacks (they were gift from Hermes after Luke left the camp) in which they can fit anything —kind of like Hermione’s bag (I don’t remember if there was anything like that in the PJO universe, sorry). Travis has his filled (well, not literally) with Katie’s gardening tools and books and pots and seeds and anything she would ever need to garden anywhere they are.
He also has winged shoes and he loves hugging Katie and flying her everywhere while he sings A whole new world.
The Stolls are a pain in the ass when they have to inspect the cabins. As their cabin is usually in the last place, they don’t really care about the results of the inspection and just mess around during that time. They make ridiculous rules like taking points out of the cabins if they don’t have blue towels or adding points if there are peanut butter snacks around. The campers hate them as inspectors except for Katie, because Travis gives her cabin extra points for each kiss she gives him there,
Baking bread relaxes Katie, so Travis always makes sure to have a bag of flour (la Pureza que ya viene con levadura lista para hacer pan) laying around for when something has her stressed.
The boy loves Katie’s overalls and summer dresses; she looks so freaking adorable in them.
He also loves her braids. He loves softly pulling at them and playing with the ends between his fingers and just generally touching her hair. Katie loves it too.
She is obsessed with Travis’ curls. She is always touching them when they cuddle or when she’s gardening and he rests his head on her lap.
They are a very physically affectionate couple. The rest of the campers almost preferred it when they despised each other and were constantly fighting, but not really, because they are the cutest thing ever.
Aaaand those are the ones at the top of my head right now, but I’ll probably share more later ❤

whats thalico GOD ANON I WISH THAT WERE ME. thalico is people shipping thalia and nico and it was a HUGE thing in like 2011. but this ask really made me think so im going to actually answer this as thoroughly as i can. so first, let me set the scene...
back in the early days of the pjo fandom, we were in sort of the second wave of internet fandom culture. we'd moved past livejournal and book-specific website forums, and most fans were on fanfiction.net and deviantart, posting fanfiction and fanart respectively. (at least. most 12 year old fans.) we were writing songfics, lemons, and fanfictions solely in chat form. author's notes in the middle of stories were rampant. ragecomics and cat memes ruled the internet. they were dark times anon, dark times. this era happened to coincide with the conclusion of many popular YA book series--harry potter, the hunger games, twilight, and, you guessed it, percy jackson and the olympians. all these series published their final book between 2008 and 2010, right around the time when this sort of internet culture was on the rise.
now, my personal theory is that this type of shipping came out of that tragic epilogue in harry potter, where jk rowling just threw in a bunch of random characters in the last 10 pages of the series, and hp fans took it upon themselves to create these whole elaborate fanon relationships and backstories, and started shipping them based on little more than a few pages of information at the end of the deathly hallows. back in those days (and maybe a bit still now, but i would argue less so) the percy jackson series was kind of like a "baby harry potter." it was shorter, it was perhaps aimed at a slightly younger audience, but it still featured a sarcastic, black haired protagonist who discovers a magical fantasy world that is living in tandem with our own. the similarities were clear to fans and critics alike, and percy jackson was literally marketed as "the next hp" like that's one of the critic quotes thats on most of the books in their original printing.
so against this backdrop, we can begin to think about why ships such as thalico or tratie (travis stoll/katie gardener) emerged. in an effort to mirror the sort of side character shipping we were seeing in harry potter, fans found side characters in pjo and invented these huge stories about their relationships--keep in mind that this was before hoo was even close to being on anyone's radar, so there was only one really "big" couple in the series, and if you wanted to expand past that, you had to really dig.
now, for me, thalico was always the weirdest one of these because like? they barely interact at all in canon. i think the ship really came to prominence after the titans curse because they both are introduced as characters in that book and you sort of get to know them at the same time. they also are both sort of "goth" i guess, which again was really trendy in this early 2010s world. then after the series ended it just sort of took on a life of its own, and it was all over fanfiction.net and the like.
anyway it's pretty much completely dead since the mass migration to tumblr in like 2013/2014, and ever since hoo came out there hasn't been much need for MORE ships. then since house of hades its been literally dead in the water, for obvious reasons. a quick glance into the thalico tag its mostly just like, me making fun of it and a few random posts.
long story longer, if you want to truly understand what it was like you can go to fanfiction.net and filter for thalia/nico, it's literally balls to the wall insane, but there was a time when that was unironically the one of the biggest ships in this fandom.

Part Dos in my "Fantastical Creature Bestiary"-series? I have no idea how many of these I'm going to do or what I'm going to use them for; I just like designing these creatures! This time it's one of my older creatures, too! These babies are based anatomically somewhat on a Tasmanian devil, though with a bat-like muzzle, different ears and paws and a long tail! Their tongues are based off (I think) armadillos!
These are Bakses! They're some of the most numerous creatures in the world! They are most common in deciduous forests in the further north, but they also live in the steppe/savannah areas further south! In the woods, their fur color is almost exclusively pale gray, while on the steppe they are brown. There is one incredibly rare fur color type that only exists in the colder northern forested areas: the agouti coat. This coat, looking rather wolf-like, gives the animal a unique appearance in comparison to the solid brown/gray others.
These creatures are rather peaceful and shy, being careful not to disturb others and stay out of the way of predators. Bakses prefer forests because they are naturally tree-dwelling creatures. Their bare feet with strong claws are ideal for grabbing hold of branches. They often can be seen dashing from tree to tree, branch to branch. Bakses are unique in that they don't "do" territory: They just roam wherever they find most convenient, even if that brings them close to others of their kind. They will sometimes even share their termite hills or ants nests with other Bakses.
Speaking of which, yes, Bakses are indeed nearly exclusively insectivorous. They technically are able to digest berries, roots and plant matter as well (though chewing it with their limited teeth is hard), but they only will be found consuming these in times of food shortage. One non-insect species Bakses will always hunt after and eat when they have the opportunity is the Pixies. These creatures, appearing as tiny, floating balls of lights to the naked eye, are a real treat for any Baks. This is why Bakses have also evolved their incredibly sensitive noses, as they are the only known creature to be able to scent Pixies.
Bakses usually live alone or (preferably) in pairs and are monogamous. The only exception to this rule is when a mother, or a mother and father live(s) with her/their young. Young Bakses, called pups, stay with their parent(s) until they're five months old, which is when they are already old enough to leave their family and fend for themselves. Female Bakses only give birth to at most two pups at a time. Though they can reproduce at any moment of the year (except for when the female is expecting), Bakses always wait with starting their next litter until the previous pups have left the family.
There is not much difference between females and males, safe for the females being slightly smaller and having two teats between her hind legs.
Bakses are one of the favorite prey of Tratis, big and dangerous predators. One thing that's handy for Bakses, though: Traris can't climb trees. Bakses are non-sentient.

Generation 2 is finally FINALLY here!! I can't even explain how excited I am for this next generation! So if you aren't familiar with this challenge I'll catch you up a little bit. This legacy started out with generation 1 Snow White, The sim I used was Adagio Grey. Adagio had 6 kids, Seraphina, Savannah, Symone, Suede, Sydnee, and Sunday. Now we're on generation 2, Cinderella, and the heir is Adagio's teenaged daughter Sydnee. Now with that out of the way here are the rules for this generation along with a few that I added!!
Rule 1:
Cinderella must have the Foodie and the Neat tratis
Rule 2:
Cinderella must clean and cook for the household until she moves out
Rule 3:
Cinderella can not marry until Snow White dies but she can have kids before then.
Rule 4:
Cinderella can only have 3 kids
Rule 5:
All the kids names must start with E because Ella starts with E, just like Adagio's kids names started with S because Snow White starts with S.
So that is it for all the rules, I hope you guys are just as excited for this generation as I am!

Aaahhhh!! Thank you thank you! It’s still so weird to me when people say they love my writing, lol, but there will be lots more to come!!
Oh man, this is such a loaded question anon, you don’t even know - my list of favorite blogs is so long, and I have lots of different ones, and I don’t know how to narrow it down? The categories of blogs are going to be kind of weird, and some will have descriptions and some won’t so just get ready (also be advised that they are in no particular order and that they are not in order of how much I love them because that would be unfair as I love them all in varying amounts for different and many reasons) :
The Squadre - first and foremost, for reasons I talk about often, I love @highlady-casandra @miladyaelin and @shortie-stories so so so much!! If you check my sassacas tag, you’ll see a lot of love for these ladies - the first two of which are wonderful SJM blogs if you’re about that life :)
@frankiefasthands - is one of my oldest and best friends in “real life” (we’ve now known each other for like 11 years, which is kind of insane?) and her blog is always cool, though most of my reblogs from her go to my personal blog, @they-did-the-do
The Hannahs - so these guys are all together because they’re all named Hannah, but that’s pretty much the only similarity between the three of them lol@propshophannah is the SJMaas Hannah, and an amazing writer, and a great person, and really wonderful all around and I love her and her blog so so much - probably my favorite SJM blog, if I had to pick one. But also, if you need life advice, or have a sex ed question that you’re really uncomfortable asking anyone else, she’s probably already answered it, or will happily answer it if you send her an ask, because she’s just the best, and just really positive, oh man, just so wonderful@ignitesthestars (also known as New Zealand Hannah, lol) is also a really great Hannah - her blog is also really wonderful, really happy, really feminist, just generally a good place, always makes me smile :) She’s got AMAZING fic, always my go-to recommendation for people if you’re looking for tgt or soc or pjo fic (or star wars fic, but I’m not personally on that train, but Hannah’s basically the conductor, so), and I just love her so much honestly - her fic is breathtaking, she’s honestly a queen, I lack the words to express it, but oh man she’s great@ananbeth is another FANTASTIC Hannah, and I love her very very much. She’s a fantastic writer, and she’s the reason I’m into Skam (which I recommend to everyone so much, and one of my fave pjo writers, and I just appreciate her a lot. She’s also co-author of the Wimbledon AU (one of my favorite fics of all time), the coming soon “call me percy” AU (which I’m already super invested in), and the coming not as soon Devil Wears Prada AU (which I’m also super excited for). She’s half of an amazing dynamic duo that I adore so much.
The Sophiis - they’re actually the same person, but I follow two of her blogs and love them both for different reasons, so I’m tagging both and highly recommend both; she is also the other half to the above Hannah’s dynamic duo@blackjacktheboss is Sophii’s pjo blog and is honestly a blessing tbh - she’s the queen of AUs and headcanons, and I have literally scrolled through her tags for hours I love her so much omg, she’s captain of the S.S. Tratie and her Ichor Group AU is what I live for and any time her and Hannah play tag, or generally @ each other or write anything, I just cry (any time Sophii writes with anyone, honestly, except Dan, because their angst stresses me out so much - actually that makes me cry too? so yeah any time she writes with anyone I cry)@furbyhater is Sophii’s other blog and it’s basically all sorts of wonderful happy things that make me laugh, and is the reason I caught up to Jane the Virgin, but again most of this is reblogged to my personal blog because it’s not very book-ish, but either way I recommend because it will much joy and happiness to your blogThe rest of the PJO fam - so I have this ridiculous like crack headcanon about these guys, and I love them all a lot, and basically they’re my faves and it’s best when you follow all of their blogs and cry over all of their perfectness@son-of-rome is the self-proclaimed lord of angst but he’s secretly a huge softie ssshhhhh and any time he’s involved with anything it’s bound to give you a small heart attack, whether it be because it’s so beautiful, or incredibly sweet retaliation fluff, or heart-wrenching angst, it’s always great, plus he’s generally hilarious and brilliant so basically I love Dan a lot and him and The Wife are the otp 5ever and anyone who ships him with any of the rest of the squad is automatically wrong sorry I don’t make the rules@percyyoulittleshit is a precious marshmallow and I adore her and Mari is the #1 fan and biggest source for all things tlt musical and if you (like me) are still sobbing over the fact that you didn’t get to see it, then Mari will 100% feel those feels too, and generally she’s just really precious and makes my days better, so 10/10 would recommend Mari’s blog@bananannabeth is a ray of sunshine and happiness and all good things basically except for when she writes soul crushing angst to fuel dan’s anger but we don’t talk about that and is responsible for some of my fave fics - including the famous percabeth FWB fic, and one of my favorite renditions of everyone’s fave skater!percy AU, and Ashlee’s generally a precious flower so highly recommend!! (She’s also where a lot of my hp content comes from lol)@greenconverses is just ... I’m not sure how to put Jess into words, but she’s the reason I started reading fanfic in the first place, and is honestly super important to me, and she’s a brilliant writer, and generally super cool, and anything she writes is basically magic, so I love her a lot and everyone should check her outAs far as other generally cool pjo blogs go (this is getting super long so this is just gonna be a list sorry :/) - @riptidescap @shanlightyear @suchastart @burdge @lesbabeths @demidorks @cindersart @rongasm @romanitas @flyingcrowbar and so many others are so so so so wonderful!!!! The authors - I follow a lot of authors on here, and that’s always really cool! Some good ones include @sabaatahir @vaveyard @stdennard and @lbardugo, as well as @worldofsarahjmaas which is not actually run by Sarah but is where all new Sarah info comes from. Sarah and Sooz also started a super amazing cool not published anywhere else story together at @thestarkillerscycle, which is super duper good, though not finished, but I still recommend itSPEAKING OF LEIGH BARDUGO!!! - I get notifications for exactly 4 Leigh Bardugo blogs (including Leigh herself, and the previously mentioned Hannah) not because I don’t love her books (I do, lots and lots) but because her fandom generally aggravates me lol so I like casually scrolling past them on my dash, but I don’t want to be notified every time they post. The two big blogs I obsessively check are @zoyalina and @savagekaz both of whom are really on top of edits and fics and such, and Cassie in particular is really strongly invested in tgt, so if you’re about the Leigh Bardugo life, her blog is 100% the place to be. She has also just started reading PJO, so a lot of wonderful edits are coming from her on that end, and it’s absolutely magical.
Okay I think that’s all I can think of off of the top of my head without scrolling through notes and my blog and who I’m following? I’m actually really impressed with myself for remembering this many lol. If I’ve forgotten anyone, I’m so so so sorry!!!!!!! But yeah, here’s a mostly comprehensive list of my faves :) I’m sorry this got incredibly long and is poorly organized to the max :/ Hope it’s helpful? The 942 series

The 942 series is a Collection of three short stories by J.I. Rogers that first appeared in her newsletter/ezine the Tamyrh Quarterly.
All three stories are very well written, with characters that seem to come alive for the reader to such an extent you may mourn the ones that don’t survive. The world building seems a bit lacking as I got no clear picture of the locale in general just a general idea of the locations in which each story takes place. Nor did I get a clear idea of the societal structure.
The stories don’t really connect to each other in any way other than they take place in the same world at different times, with different characters.
Protocol 9
I found it a bit tricky keeping track of who is who as the characters are referred to sometimes by rank, first name or last name, and it seems very seldom by full name rank and position, so I advise reading the character index near the end of the book for clarity.
Team 7 led by Captain Jason Trati is called on to investigate the condition of the research station, Vorta which has failed to report it’s regular check ins for more than 24 hours. In a harsh world where if the environment doesn’t kill you the locals will do their best to do so, the search and rescue team arrive aboard their aging transport, affectionately referred to as “The Beast” to find the research station empty of personnel and the facility breached.
After resealing the structure against the elements, and neutralizing the local flora, a team is sent out in an attempt to find the missing scientists. They don’t all return to the station, the ranging team having accumulated some casualties, and they return to find the station has been attacked in their absence.
The battle scenes are all presented in past tense, through reports and dialogue rather than scenes of the battles themselves. The characters are what make this story a good read, that left me a bit disappointed that it ended so soon.
Forget Me Not
This story apparently takes place in a friendlier environment as the characters seem to move about freely without the encumbrance of protective suits and breathing apparatus.
Once again the story is made by the characters as much or more than by the action. Again the world view is limited and the structure of the society is merely hinted at. You have to read for a while before learning the main character’s name. I’m not sure whether that is a good thing or not as it doesn’t really detract form the story, or prevent from identifying with the young lady in question, who is much like the rebellious young college students we are familiar with.
A speech by Captain James Narisco, once court marshaled for gross insubordination, on a rather controversial subject is attended by young Isolde Tai, daughter of a high ranking family, who has no intention of returning home afterwards, as well as thousands of others whose views, the ruling powers apparently don’t agree with nor do they tolerate them very well.
The speech is well received by the huge outdoor crowd, after which the arrival of a company of suppression guards leads to an outbreak of violence with the guards indiscriminately shooting into the crowd.
Bride Price:
The last in the book but also the oldest/first chronologically in both setting and first published, I would recommend reading this one first as it give the reader more insight into the society structure where social rank and money mean political power.
An arranged marriage, a broken engagement, and an unwilling bride lead to a tale of intrigue.
Regina Makon, becomes a willing pawn in the maneuvering for status and power through an arranged marriage to William Harlo Junior. This union will bring two rich and powerful families together in a union that will supposedly benefit both families through status and money.
This union is not looked upon favorably by William though, for he has already chosen his bride the beautiful and pregnant Lyselle.
Powerful manipulative parents, determined young lovers and greed for money and power are a mix that is certain to provide a story loaded with intrigue, which Bride Price gives you in abundance.
All in all the 942 series left me wishing the stories were longer as I didn’t want to leave them so soon.
I hope we will see some complete novels come from these tales.
