DCxDP fanfic idea: Corporate Rivals
Bruce is really excited to hire a boy genius from a small time town. He found him by accident while scrolling through some creative writing competition past winners on various school sites. He originally wanted ideas for his own contest for the annual Wayne Young Writers Scholarship when he stumbled up Amity Parks Youth Authors.
Daniel Fenton's science fiction had won second place, and Bruce thinks he only lost due to the judges not realizing all the science of the gadgets his charaters used were real. Real, well explain and proper research. Daniel obviously knew his stuff and knew it well.
He had reached out to Daniel with a science scholarship opportunity, wanting to see what he would come up with. He gave him a basic assignment asking him to fulfill a prompt "Software or Hardware development for disabled" in either theory or model. If he created something worthwhile, Bruce would send him ten grand.
Daniel did not disappoint, not only doing the theory paper but also sending back a prototype of a pocket ASL translator. It would be an app on a phone that would have an AI watching through a camera of the person doing sign language and say out loud what the person was saying. It had a few bugs here and there, but for a high schooler, those were very impressive accomplishments.
Bruce found himself sponsoring the boy for early high school graduation. The young Fenton boy was a genius just like his parents, but he lacked proper motivation. Bruce suspected it was due to his school not challenging him enough much like Tim.
When Daniel got his diploma Bruce offered a few rid to Gotham University with the condition he would be a employee at WE. Daniel agreed under the condition it was as a proper employee and not a unpaid intern. A little daring for a kid getting already a amazing deal but Bruce liked his moxy and agreed.
Daniel Fenton was to be a worker in the RD department for WE tech in one week.
He couldn't wait to introduce him to Tim. Two young geniuses would get along swimmingly with their shared brain prowess!
______________________________________
Tim hated the new guy.
They were the same age, but everyone acted like he was amazing for finishing high school and starting university while also being a top WE reseacher and Devloper at such a young age.
Oh Tim was CEO, but as many people have whispered, he didn't graduated Highschool or have a GED so the only reason he got to be CEO was because of nepotism. Danny on the other hand got his position through hard work.
Which was ironic, seeing as the company has never done so well since Tim came on board. Their sales, PR, and production numbers all tripled because of him. Danny, on the other hand, was a sloth with little to no ambition. He didn't even work well with others! He mostly did solo projects and everyone seemed fine with that since genius "need their own space"
Tim has been networking since he was three years old, and failure to do so had always reflected badly on him and his company. He spent his entire life careful choosing his words and his actions. Even his appearance, what he wore, his hairstyle even the hand gesture when he talked, were planned before hand.
Then comes Fenton, who avoids crowds, dressed in the worst formal wear Tim has ever seen . Black jeans were not formal!- and acted like this important office was just a after school hang out spot. Now Tim was much more laid back than his board co-workers, who were all in their fifties or older, and even more relax then the mangers or superiors of lower stations but even he could not understand Fenton blaring music, bags of chips lingering everywhere and his ordination skills were none existing!
Not to mention the fact Daniel didn't believe in using computers unless he had to. His office was covered in towers of paper that he scribbled and work on! It was such a waste!
And yet, despite all of that, Daniel was rapidly becoming an asset to WE. His ASL translator app wasn't finished, but it had everyone buzzing with excitement and would be well received when it was released with Wayne Phones as a built in app.
Tim tried to avoid him as best he could least he get offended by his lack of work proper behavior
Daniel Fenton did not understand what it meant to put your all into something that you lost yourself along the way. Best to ignore him.
________________________________________
Danny couldn't stand his company CEO. Timothy Drake reminded him a little too much of the A-listers but without the bulling bit. Somehow, that made it worse.
Timothy was popular because he was well liked. He didn't need to relay on his good looks or aggression to make other yeild to him like Paulina or Dash. Even if he was ridiculously good looking to the point, Danny confused him for a siren when he met him.
He had the ability to walk into any room and take command if it. Timothy didn't even need to speak, his very presence commanded attention and awe. Not to mention how great he was at his job.
WE had always been a popular corporation but under Timothy's command they rose to one of the most important corporations in the world. Bruce Wayne was raised to run a company, Timothy Drake was born to run it. There was a large enough difference between the two that anyone could see Timothy was superior at running things.
Danny was nothing like that. He couldn't talk to people, couldn't make them like him, and often he was overlooked for his sister or his wacky but loveable parents.
He was the other Febton. The one that was there and nothing else. A few months ago he was even considered the dumb Fenton, who somehow was skipped over for intelligence.
Then he wrote a little story and everything changed.
Danny turned out to be a proper Fenton, after all, having gotten the attention of Bruce Wayne for his mind. His parents haven't been so proud of him in a long time, and he found himself accepting the job position after graduating high school early before he knew it.
Along with the job came a move to Gotham city. He went after debating it a great deal with his family and friends, but the deal was too sweet to turn down. Now he was in Gothem and he knew absolutely no one.
Danny didn't know how to make new friends here. Tucker and Sam had been the ones to approach him at the beginning of their friendships. He also was scared of getting close to his co-worker less they suspect his Phantom powers.
He knew that Metas was not welcome, and he thought Batman wouldn't care that he was technically dead and not with a meta gene.
So he focused on his work, avoiding large crowds and keeping his head down. He would turn on music to help pass the loneliness and would gater papers to write down his thoughts less they made him mad by running around his head all day.
This anxious insecurity was something Timothy Drake would never understand. He just shone like a fallen star, dazzling the masses with his neat press suits, easy charisma, and intelligent bedroom eyes. Best to ignore him.
________________________________________
Dick never really ventured to WE now that he moved out. He made a habit of trying to visit Tim every two weeks for lunch to fix this. He also really wanted to spend more one on one time with his little brother now that they reconsidled from Bruce's timeline fiasco.
He was still well known by the employees, even new ones, so when Dick arrived to the lobby he was waved in by security. The receptionists were all huddled together muttering to eachother and missed his entrance since security didn't call out to him.
Dick could tell the gossip they were talking about was juicy based on the way Lola was wiggling her eyebrows and Stacy and Isaiah's reaction.
He creeps closer to the front desk, hoping to hear something good.
"Isn't that against the rules?" Isaiah asks.
"WE doesn't have anything like that. Not since Thomas Wayne married his old PA and had Bruce. I think it's cute that Mr.Drake is following in his adoptive Grandfather's footsteps."
Dick paused, shocked. Tim liked someone at WE!?
"They aren't even dating yet, Lola"
"Yeah but you can cut the sexual tension with a- Mr. Grayson! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you. How can I help you?"
Dick blinks. "Oh I'm here to see Tim for lunch. But what was that about Tim you were saying?"
The woman pales as the other two quickly become busy with some email or another.
"Oh, um, I'm so sorry, sir. I shouldn't have -"
"It's fine I don't mind a little chat between co-workers. I'm just curious"
Lola stares before nervously blurting "Rumor has it that um, Mr.Drake has a thing for Daniel Fenton"
"The new boy genius?" Dick thinks about it considering what he knows of Tim's type and his past preferences in partners before nodding "That tracks actually"
He says his thanks and hurries away to Tim's office unaware he may have confirmed a relationship between Tim and Danny.
The gossip circles in WE exploded with the news everyone careful not to let the two subjects hear a whisper.

You know one thing I’ve noticed being parroted around a lot are about how ‘sweet’ the strong boys are, just repeating what the protagonist Rhaenrya views her sons as she has stated it within the show herself. (Which is fine as people are entitled to their own opinions). I suppose it doesn’t help with the way the team black boys have been casted, younger actors & an actual teen matching the character’s age, looking all cherub/innocent like with the awkward hairstyles emphasises their youthful ages & the framing by show is heavily in the favour of the blacks.
Compare this to the team green boys Aemond and Aegon (both phenomenal actors perfectly cast to portray them) but considering Aemond is supposed to be a teen what 16 or 19? (the show-runners can’t seem to do basic maths, lol) however, as an audience member subconsciously Aemond is viewed as an adult & treated/judged as such with his actions. Again the negative framing by the show of him in manipulating the GA perceptions of the teams, I’m really surprised they didn’t play a villainous theme tune as like with Darth Vader every time he appeared on screen but I think that would have been a-bit too obvious, lmao. It’s not like the camera framework & Aemond’s get up in black, heavy smirking in the background isn’t already doing so.
Anyways having watched the show, I happen to be believe that they are not these sweet harmless little princes, in particular, Jace hides a much darker personality, imo. For instance, in the courtyard back at Kingslanding with Luke he says “it doesn’t matter what they think” so on the surface you could argue oh how sweet he is trying to comfort his brother but shows his self-entitlement in viewing the other lords/people as beneath them & we know Rhaenrya has told him “you are a Targaryen that’s all that matters” so it has been instilled in him this belief in the Targaryen exceptionalism being closer to gods than men because of their dragons. Also, that line mirrors young Rhaenrya with “their wants are of no consequence” about the small folk again showing self-entitlement & an attitude that would make them poor future leaders.
Jace having this belief instilled in him, I feel it would explain why they all picked on Aemond because whilst Aemond may be a legitimate true-born prince who was undeniably a Targaryen with the Valyrian looks, what didn’t he have? A dragon!! so Jace with his inferiority complex/issues & superiority complex combined, knowing he was a bastard targets/bullies Aemond unfairly for this (for being what he should have been if he was fathered by Laenor) to make Aemond feel bad, inferior & inadequate like him, which they were successful in.
As we saw this made Aemond risk his life attempting to claim a dragon with helaena saying “he did it again” (hinting that Aemond at 10-12 risked himself numerous times) and it was shown twice with his failed attempt with dreamfyre & his successful attempt with vhagar. As Rhaenyra has instilled in him being a Targaryen is the most important BS & the biggest symbolism of this is having a dragon. So, when Aemond finally claims a dragon, Jace is now unable to see or convince himself as better than or being more Targaryen than Aemond.
Hence, his anger when they all jumped him 4v1 beating him & when Aemond was managing to defend himself & calls them for what he is “a bastard” Jace’s rage comes out, not because he thought Aemond was going to kill Luke with a rock as he had lowered his hand holding it. It was Aemond saying “lord strong” which made him pull out the knife & slashing with the intent to kill him. Again Aemond managed to defend himself & the knife dropped on the floor, so obviously Aemond lifts the rock up again to use as a deterrent as there is now also a knife bought in the fight. The strong boys shared a glance & threw sand in his face blinding him & Luke slashed his eye.
We all know what happened after, they didn’t get punished for it, viserys sided with them reaffirming his favouritism & threatening to remove tongues for questioning their legitimacy. Rhaenyra didn’t care to discipline them for it, thus, reaffirming their self-entitlement that they are correct in their behaviours & did nothing wrong.
Another example of Jace self-entitlement, inferiority complex & bullying behaviour was during the toast speech. It was Aegon who pissed him off & some with an optimistic view would argue his toast was trying to bury the hatchet with “fond memories of our youth”, however, he was looking at Aemond with a slight smirk knowing full well it may have been fun for him it was not for Aemond- he was targeting him again when it was Aegon who bothered him & Aemond was minding his own business. The reason for this? Because he is comfortable to be looking down/belittling/bullying Aemond.
Again, with the dance with helaena, some would argue how chivalrous of Jace for feeling sorry for Heleana being alone but it was to piss off both Aegon & Aemond. Moving on, with the speech & then Luke laughing at the pig, Aemond loses his temper, rightly so. As all he was trying to do during the dinner was ignore them, both Jace & Luke have triggered him with the past, so he gives the infamous strong speech, to push back & give them a taste of their own medicine.
Jace is the one who then loses his temper & his first typical reaction when he does?? is to be physically violent & throws the first punch & which side does he purposely target?? Aemond’s blind/injured & vulnerable side of his face. The punch was laughable, Aemond didn’t even spill his drink & with one push was thrown down. Exactly like his younger behaviour showing no growth, he get back up & during this altercation, Luke had tried to join to gang up on Aemond again. So both brothers are unable to take the heat that they dish out & fight fairly 1 to 1, but, really what could’ve Luke have really done, lmao.
They should of known when they saw Aemond earlier that day in the courtyard training. At the time, it’s clear both strong boys didn’t know it was him (with the typical targaryen blonde hair they maybe could of mistaken him for Aegon) & were super impressed with his prowess/skill, before he turned around with the eyepatch & their faces said it all, like ‘oh shit’ & then soured that the person who they perceived weaker/beneath them during childhood is a skilled swordsman, unlike them. Another thing that Aemond has/is that the strong boys don’t to add to Jace’s list, alongside having both of a mix of a inferiority complex & superiority complex, a ‘sweet prince’ he is not.

decade accurate marauders era wardrobes - remus lupin
hair: black, coily, and styled into a short afro/brown, mid-length and curly.
Tumblr media
i personally hc remus as black so i typically imagine him wearing his hair in an afro as it was popular amongst black people at the time.
i see canon remus as having a hairstyle more like the one on the right.
clothes: consist of earthy tones such as brown, green, yellow and red. stripes and plaids. knitwear, corduroy, and cotton blends. shirts, vests, sweaters and flannels.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
while 70s fashion is typically associated with bright colors and flashy designs, casual clothing made with earthy tones and natural materials such as wool, wood, and cotton were also very popular.
the notorious avocado greens, harvest golds, coppertone oranges, and burnt siennas that are synonymous with the 70s functioned as a sort of knee jerk reaction to the psychedelic color palette of the 60s and its equally as wild politics that eventually carried on into the 70s. people developed a sort of anxiety towards the experimental and spontaneous nature of the times and instead yearned for more simplicity, stability, and comfort in their lives which they found in crafts like knitting and crocheting.
perhaps someone better spoken than me can articulate my point better but i feel like this somewhat parallels remus and his place in the wizarding world. wizards, specifically anti-muggle wizards, are canonically described via pottermore to adopt a "deliberately flamboyant, out-of-date or dandyish style" as a way to demonstrate their superiority over muggles. like muggle society, their sense of fashion also mirrored their equally as ignorant, outdated, and dramatic politics. remus, on the other hand, is commonly depicted in fanon as wearing "simple but smart" looking clothing such as knitted sweaters and vests with calm, naturally occurring colors. the simplicity in his style could also be interpreted a knee-jerk reaction to flamboyancy of wizarding fashion and culture as a whole. his lycanthropy gives him many self esteem issues and a strong desire to be liked which influences the way he carries himself amongst wizarding society. he is articulate and philosophical in his speech and is repeatedly shown to try to repress angry outbursts in possible fear of being depicted as dangerous or violent.
despite this, he has his moments when his true, sarcastic nature shines through. i think he'd enjoy jokey graphic tees that encapsulate this aspect of him.
shoes: doc martens and loafers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
accessories: messenger bag, pins, walking cane.
Tumblr media
cane user remus ftw‼️
he uses the messenger bag as his schoolbag and puts the pins on them for decoration. ik he wouldn't have *realistically* used 2/3 of these pins but i thought they were funny and fitting so why not.

2. What's your favorite and least favorite design in either show?
9. Since you mentioned drawing your redesigns, I have to ask - is there any way I could see Verity having a jolly ol' time on a swing? I was looking over your art again and the thought just struck me on impact out of nowhere.
13. Where does Lilith fit in Hellbound Hostel? Is there anything planned for her yet / concepts you're tossing around?
Tumblr media
9. I know this probably isn't what you were imagining but!!! I love conversations on swings and I wanted to draw Eden and Verity together.
2. Favorite and least favorite designs are hard to figure out, most designs I like have glaring details I don't and designs I dislike have potential somewhere in the design. I'll pick the ones from Hazbin that I like/dislike the most as they are, speaking roles only.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carmilla Carmine is my least favorite design. Her hair completely throws her design off balance imo. I hate the fact none of these characters have ears and I thought Carmilla’s earrings were dangling from her hair at one point. When her hair is down, her design is better I guess… but then there isn't anything that screams hell or sinner in her design. The hairstyle at least alludes to horns, without it she is just a grey human with red eyes and slightly big arms. I kind of wish she kept her extremely long fingers from the pilot, but that wouldn’t tie in well with her fighting style imo??? Eh.
Tumblr media
Breaking my own rules since they never speak but, but this design ruins every scene it is in. What an attention grabbing eyesore, it was impossible to watch the overlord meeting with her just sitting on the side orz
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sir Pentious is probably my favorite design in the show, but the story behind his design just makes me sad. I don't like his tail and the eyes pasted all over it, slithering on your eyes?? ow. The hood acting like hair and flaring out is very enjoyable to watch. His palette is also more balanced than most characters. Prefer him without the hat though.
Breaking the rules again, my real favorites are background characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
13. In Hellbound Hostel, Hellborn are created through a ritual that only requires one participant. Eden is more like a creation to [Lucifer] than a daughter and she has no mother. Sort of an [Adam] parallel. I might shift Lilith's role/traits to one of the Sins, Idolatry.
The Sins are effectively Eden’s family as they are all fallen angels that rebelled with [Lucifer]. A lot of the early/pilot stuff with Lilith shows her as wanting rebellion from sinners and I think Idolatry would also stoke that flame. She is a champion of individualism and finding your own “gods” to worship. She believes that the free will that humans were granted makes them superior to The Creator.
As for the aspect of someone from hell residing in heaven as a potential villain? I have some ideas but most of the conflict I’m figuring out right now is episodic conflicts centering around the hotel, like a power outage and trying to get residents excited for a hellborn holiday.
Thank you for asking! :D

Uchusen Vol. 183 (Winter 2024) Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Main Cast Member Interviews (translations below)
Publication: December 28, 2023
Sakai Taisei x Masato Yano Interview
Racules Husty, who had deceived his people and younger brother for the sake of a good cause, and who had lived with the stigma of being an evil tyrant, has finally rebelled against the Uchu King, Dagded! Many fans must have been moved by the brothers, Gira and Racules, who've come to the point where they're willing to position their swords side by side in order to protect Chikyu. In this issue, we asked Sakai Taisei and Masato Yano, who play these brother kings, to talk about the hardships they've faced, and their memories of the past.
"Before this show, the two of you co starred in last year's drama "Shinyu wa Akujo." Please tell us your impressions of when you first met."
Sakai: The first time we met, Yano-san had a great aura about him, and to be honest, I was really nervous at first (laughs). However, a few days after filming began, Yano-san started talking to me and began teasing me on set in order to ease my nerves.
Yano: In Shinyu wa Akujo, our relationship is that of superior and subordinate. I heard that this was Sakai-kun's first appearance in a serial drama, so I tried to talk to him as much as possible as to not make him nervous. Since my role was that of an easy going boss, I'd suddenly adlib and talk to him during the actual performance (laughs).
Sakai: I was confused at that time (laughs). He once took me out for ramen during the middle of a break…..he really took care of me in many ways.
"Have your impressions changed since meeting again on King-Ohger's set?"
Yano: Since his position is that of the leader of King-Ohger, the atmosphere and appearance of his performance have changed dramatically. I think he's grown.
Sakai: Yano-san being the mood maker on set hasn't changed since Shinyu wa Akujo, but back then, we didn't have as many deep discussions about the performance as we do now.
Yano: During filming, the covid pandemic still hadn't calmed down yet, so we weren't able to go out and eat together.
Sakai: But, ever since we started appearing together in King-Ohger, he takes me out for meals, where he's been really kind and gives me advice not only for acting, but also for my personal life.
"In Shinyu wa Akujo, you played boss and colleague, and in this work you play brothers, so there seems to be a connection (fate)."
Sakai: I guess so. Our relationship is gradually getting closer.
Yano:……If we get another chance, I wonder what's next? Maybe we play the role of lovers? (laughs).
Sakai:……Sounds good (laughs).
"Now then, Racules, who left in episode 20, came back as Shugo Mask in episode 34, but it was surprising that he took off his mask as soon as he appeared."
Yano: As a viewer, you may have felt like he took off the mask as soon as he appeared, but I feel like Racules spent several months wearing the mask off screen, and that he'd take it off when in front of Suzume. And so, when the kings returned, he took off the mask. It may have looked like he was eager to take it off (laughs), but it's not like he abruptly removed it.
"Including the appearance of new enemies and the resurrection of Racules, how do you feel about the various events that took place in the second chapter?"
Yano: Sakai-kun's Gira is starting to look alittle more like Racules.
Sakai: Actually, I adopted Racules's movements, such as the pose where I spread my arms. In the first chapter, where Gira's pose has his arms wide open, when I saw the footage myself, I felt like, "It holds no weight…" Gira in the first chapter looks good, but since Gira's grown in the second, I thought about giving him the dignity of a king. Therefore, I used Yano-san's elegant movements as an example.
Yano: It's true that he's become more dignified since the second chapter. I myself have changed my hairstyle, and my body shape has increased by 6 kg compared to my role in the first chapter. When I cut my hair, it makes me look more refreshed and slimmer. Since I'm in a hero production, it's more convincing if I'm bigger to some extent.
"Did your role change after the second chapter?"
Sakai: I wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere, so I tried to lower the tone of my voice more than I did before.
Yano: I knew in advance that I'd be fighting Dagded on the side of the Royal Sentai, so even when I was on Dagded's side, I wondered if any viewers would understand, "Deep down in your heart, you must be thinking something different." I was performing while trying to find an opening. Viewers will be able to guess what'll happen in the future based on the slightest facial expression or gestures, so I was careful not to spoil the story as much as possible.
Sakai: It's difficult to just barely find an opening. In episode 35, there's a scene where Gira says to Racules, "Why are you alive?!," and Producer Omori Takahito-san told me, "Act as if you knew he was alive." So, I acted with a slight smile on my face, trying to show my happiness at him being alive. However, when I watched the broadcast, that expression had been cut out. It seems that it was decided that my performance at that time would be a spoiler.
Yano: The foreshadowing in King-Ohger is so complex, so we had to think about it ourselves or we wouldn't be able to follow the story. While acting, I thought to myself, "Is this expression okay?" If you don't think carefully about these kinds of things, including the post transformation dubbing, your performance will affect future developments and their connection to the past.
"Episode 37 was a serious one between Kaguragi and Iroki, but then the next week's episode was about idols, so we get the impression that there's a huge difference in how developments unfold."
Yano: King-Ohger tends to have "break times" after a serious story (laughs).
Sakai: I'm used to it by now (laughs).
Yano: I didn't appear in episode 38, but when I read the script, I was like, "Who's speaking here?" and I couldn't understand the details at all (laughs). From now on, the story is going to get alot more serious, but I hope there'll be break times in between (laughs).
Sakai: I'm really looking forward to future developments (laughs).
"In the first chapter, the comical performance of Racules in the imagination scenes of Gira and the others was also appealing."
Yano: That's when Gira dressed up in different outfits in episode 11, right? That was the first time I abandoned the character of Racules (laughs).
Sakai: That's right (laughs).
Yano: To be honest, I was also holding back in that one. In fact, I wanted to be even more extra (laughs).
"Please tell us about some of the most memorable episodes that have been broadcast so far"
Yano: It's episode 41.
Sakai: That's mine too!
Yano: Racules, who was thought to be an enemy up until then, faced towards the enemy side and said, "Stand up, Gira! It's time to save the universe!" which I thought was really cool.
Sakai: After that, I also really like episode 42. I think those two episodes are the turning point of the story that's unfolded so far. The underlying story of King-Ohger, between an older and younger brother has been firmly established, and it's left a lasting impression on me.
Yano: Gira called Racules "Onii-chan" for the first time.
Sakai: The smile on Racules's face at that time was great to see.
"The villains in hero productions are often disliked, but Racules is very popular among children."
Yano: I thought that the more people disliked him at first, the bigger the impact would be when he becomes good, so I acted while trying to make people dislike him. But, as it turned out, he wasn't disliked much.
Sakai: I'm sure the kids who saw episode 42 like him even more!
"Were Racules's true intentions, which were revealed in episodes 41 and 42, known from the start?"
Yano: That's right. I was mostly informed.
Sakai: Did you know about it from the beginning?
Yano: Yeah, I knew (laughs).
Sakai: I had asked the staff, "What are Racules's true intentions?" but they wouldn't tell me because they said, "If we tell you, it would ruin the performance."
Yano: And so, he asked me alot of questions.
Sakai: I thought Yano-san would tell me (laughs).
Yano: No! There's no way I was going to tell you!! (laughs). They'd be furious and say, "Why did you tell him!!?"
"As the final episode approaches, are you feeling sad?"
Sakai: The TV series will soon end, but I still have the "Unmasked Warrior" performance at Theater G-Rosso, as well as the Final Live Tour, so I don't actually feel like, "This is the end."
Yano: That's right. Since I won't be at G-Rosso, I feel that the end is near, and the other day I said to Sakai-kun, "In about a month, this project will be over…" That's why I'm taking it one day at a time so that I don't have any regrets about the character of Racules.
Sakai: It'll be lonely. G-Rosso, let's go!
Yano: I've already got other work.
Sakai: I guess you really can't get out of it (laughs).
Yano: In one way or another, It'd be interesting if I could make a surprise appearance.
"What are your thoughts looking back on the year of filming?"
Yano: Until now, the longest I've worked on the same project was about half a year, so this is the first time I've continued a project for over a year. However, there was a time where I had to leave midway, so I think Sakai-kun and the others had an even more intense year than I did.
Sakai: It was definitely intense. I had this strange feeling where a day would go by quickly, but the week felt very long.
Yano: When you play the same role for a year, you gradually get used to it and your true self comes out. But in King-Ohger, I think it was good that I was able to switch my mindset to a new one at the beginning of the second chapter.
"Since this is a great opportunity, why don't you share a message with each other?"
Yano: Sakai-kun, you've become very sturdy over the past year, and compared to the first episode, I think you now have the face of "a person who carries the burden." Filming will come to an end soon, but I hope that you'll continue to lead everyone, absorb many things, and become an even bigger actor than you are now.
Sakai: I'll devote myself to being one.
"Please also give a message from Sakai-san to Yano-san."
Sakai: I'm learning from Yano-san every day, and I can only thank him for that. It's been over a year since "Shinyu wa Akujo," but Aniki taught me alot about acting and how to act as an actor.
Yano: You've never called me Aniki! (laughs).
Sakai: I think of you as Aniki! (laughs). I think it was really good experience to have a veteran like Yano-san by my side all the way. Thank you so much! I think this is one of the best parts of working on a Super Sentai set.
Yano: There may be many people who want to play a tokusatsu hero, but have given up because of their age, however, Kaku So-kun who plays Kaguragi is one year older than me, and Suzuki Hirofumi-san who played KijiBrother in "Donbrothers" is also in his 30s. I think I was able to prove that people of our generation can still play heroes.
"Racules will be fighting alongside Gira and the others in the future, but please tell us about some key points of future developments."
Yano: As the show reaches its climax, each episode will have more developments than the last that you can't miss. Please watch out for the future of Racules and the future of Gira.
Sakai: The past of Gira and Racules will be revealed in the future, and the story will continue to heat up toward the end. The staff and cast are all working together to create this production, and we hope you'll continue to look forward to it!
Amano Kousei Interview
Grodie Leucodium, the last of the Uchu Five Jesters who appeared in the second chapter of King-Ohger. Grodie, who has the ability to bring the dead back to life, and is believed to be responsible for the "Wrath of God," is played by Amano Kousei, who played Sakuya Tachibana in Kamen Rider Blade. We asked Amano, who surprisingly is making his first appearance in the Super Sentai series, about the episodes in which he and his wife appear together, and behind the scenes details of the film site.
"Amano-san has appeared in "Kamen Rider Blade" and "Kamen Rider Fourze," but this is his first appearance in the Super Sentai series. What are your impressions of Super Sentai?"
Amano: I've always thought of Super Sentai as, "A group of heroes who come together to pose and announce their names," and that it was a production aimed at a younger audience and was easier to understand than the Kamen Rider series. However, King-Ohger is different from the image I had of Super Sentai, and I think it's more like Kamen Rider in some ways. Kamen Rider may seem like it's for kids, but it has the appearance of an adult drama that teaches children about the rights and wrongs of the world in an indirect way.
"Amano-san, which Super Sentai productions left the strongest impression on you?"
Amano: When I was a kid, I loved "Taiyou Sentai SunVulcan." I also know of "Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger" since it aired at the same time as Kamen Rider Blade. I only know about those two in detail. Are there those who have seen every single series? Because I'm not that type of person. However, back then, when I watched the broadcast of Dekaranger, I was impressed by how perfectly the five member's transformation poses and names were in sync every time. Our "Blade" team sometimes transformed at the same time in the films, but it was hard to get all of us to do it together. I watched it thinking, "How wonderful."
"We heard that you watched King-Ohger before it was decided that you'd be appearing….."
Amano: Before it aired, when I learned that the main character in King-Ohger was a "red stag beetle," I felt a strong affinity for him. I was also the "red stag beetle" in Blade (laughs). Stag beetles are second only to rhino beetles in terms of insects, and in King-Ohger, I was surprised and pleased to see that KuwagataOhger, the leader, was red.
"How did you feel when you saw it?"
Amano: When I watched it with the image of the past Super Sentai in mind, I was really surprised to see the beginning of an otherworldly fantasy! I was astonished to see a CG world that wasn't the "Oya History Museum" or "Mt. Iwafune" that we're so used to. In the second episode, the familiar "Saitama Super Arena" appeared (laughs), but since the cinematic visuals continued, I wondered, "How much further will they go with this quality?," so I started watching it.
"Please tell us how you came to be involved in King-Ohger, which you had been watching as a viewer."
Amano: Mama (his wife, Hinagata Akiko) played the role of Iroki in "Adventure Heaven," and afterwards, a staff member asked me, "We'd like you to appear in Super Sentai, is that okay?" Because I appeared in Kamen Rider, did they think that I wouldn't want to appear in Super Sentai? It was an offer for a work I love, so I said, "Of course! I want to do it!" and after awhile, I was offered the role of Grodie.
"You were very enthusiastic about promoting the film on SNS when it released, but wasn't it already decided that you'd be cast to appear?"
Amano: It wasn't decided at all! The only reason I was posting about the film on SNS was because Mama was in it, and we were just promoting it as a family. I saw the film by buying my own ticket, and even bought a pamphlet with my own money (laughs). However, I was really happy to see my family in the film because Toei tokusatsu productions were the field that helped me grow, and in a sense, it was like being home. I never thought that I'd also be able to participate.
"How did your wife react when you were cast as Grodie?"
Amano: She knew I liked this show, so she was happy and said, "Good for you!"
"Grodie also appears in the flashback scene of episode 7."
Amano: I didn't play that role, but when it was decided that I'd appear, the staff told me "He appears in episode 7, so please watch it," so I rewatched it on TTFC, but at that time, I had no idea that it would become such an important role.
"When you first appeared in episode 30, the opening credits stated, "Mysterious Man: ?" so when it was revealed that Amano-san was playing the role, was the response good?"
Amano: Surprises like that make my heart race. I was also shown in the trailer without showing my face, but people didn't talk about it much on SNS or ask, "Who is that?" Even after the broadcast started, I didn't see anyone who realized that I was the one playing the role, so, what if I announced, "Actually, Amano is playing the role!" and there was also no reaction?…..I was incredibly anxious! (laughs).
"What was your impression of Grodie's costume?"
Amano: I chose one of two costumes, but the one I didn't go with had a long leather coat with iridescent colors, which I thought was closer to giving off the image of a monster. However, when I tried it on, it looked more like Kamen Rider, so I chose the one I wear in the show. The hat was prepared due to my suggestion. However, the first hat I was given was too small, so I said, "I'd like a bigger one," and the current hat was chosen. The round glasses were also my suggestion, but actually, the actor who played the role in episode 7 was wearing sunglasses of the same design. I just removed the lenses from the sunglasses and used them as glasses.
"How did you prepare for the role?"
Amano: This time, it was a short period of just under a month from receiving the offer to performing, and even at the costume fitting stage, I didn't have a script. The Director described him as, "A creepy guy who isn't interested in anything other than killing people," and then the Director, Producer Omori Takahito-san and I discussed the image of the role. After that, we decided on the costume and read the script to match the visual image of the role. Grodie is a character that we developed from the costume, including the visuals.
"Did you prepare for a role after deciding on the costume?"
Amano: Usually, I'd read the script and understand the character first, and then incorporate that into the costume. For me, this was the first time that the costume came first. So it was fun to interpret the character based on his appearance, such as asking, "Why does he wear glasses?" Glasses are very human, aren't they? When I read the script, I felt a longing for humans in the lines and thought, "Could it be that he admires humans who can die?" and "Maybe that's why he wears glasses like a human."
"How did you decide on the makeup?"
Amano: At first, I was going to use black lipstick, but I was told, "Iroki uses black lipstick, so you should change it," so I decided that, "Red would make it stand out with the costume." The pattern on my face was prepared by the staff, but I don't know what it means. But, I think it's probably because "it looks cool" (laughs). I'm glad to see this kind of ingenuity, as it seems to be typical of Super Sentai villains.
"How did you feel about wearing the costume during filming?"
Amano: Since the hat's so big, it restricts my movements. Grodie is often seen laying down, but due to the brim of the hat, I can't actually lie down, so I have to rest on one elbow. Even in action scenes, if I fall down, my hat will fall off, so I have to fall on top of fallen Sanagim…..Actually, I've come up with alot of tricks for the hat. I can't even put my coat on by myself because it hits my hat when I try to put it on……When I said, "I want a bigger hat" I didn't think it would cause me such a hard time (laughs).
"Please tell us your impressions of Grodie's monster form."
Amano: When I was working on Kamen Rider, I discussed my role with Oshikawa Yoshifumi-san and Watanabe Jun-san, who played my role after the transformation. But, with Muraoka Hiroyuki-san, who plays the role of my monster form this time, I deliberately don't have any meetings or discussions with him. So, when I see the actions of the monster form during dubbing, I enjoy voicing the monster with a fresh mind, thinking, "This is how he played it, so let's voice him this way."
"We were impressed by the unique transformation scene in episode 37, where he seems to blend into the ground."
Amano: It's a shame that I can't shout "Henshin!" like I did in Kamen Rider. If I could, I'd like to say "Royal Arms!" but I'm sure they'd get angry if I did that (laughs). This time, there are no transformation items such as a Belt or Zodiarts Switch, so I want something that can be marketed as a toy. I'd love to see them make it in a spinoff!
"Do you feel any difference with filming compared to Blade and Fourze?"
Amano: In the beginning, I felt uncomfortable performing in front of a green screen with no set. Before I started filming, I watched the other cast members perform and thought to myself, "How do you perform in that situation?," but If you actually try it, you're able to concentrate on your performance, and it might even be easier to act.
"Please tell us about any memorable scenes that have been broadcast so far."
Amano: The scene with Iroki in episode 37 was short but fun. That story really brought out the Iroki who appeared in the film, and Kaguragi was really cool too. To be honest, I didn't like Kaguragi very much before that (laughs). He's two faced and not kingly enough. But after watching that episode, I understood the reasons for my dislike of him, and I felt that everything was positive, which made me start to love him. The script for that episode was amazing because it reversed what I had been feeling for 37 episodes! In my opinion, episode 37 is a divine episode.
"How was it working with Hinagata-san?"
Amano: Since it was just one scene, we didn't have many meetings, and although we're family, we worked just like any other actor. Before I started working on set, I thought, "Will it be difficult to work with Mama?," but it turned out to be easy.
"How do you feel about playing Grodie, who's even more of a villain than Principal Hayami in Fourze?"
Amano: It's alot of fun playing such an excessive villain! Since he's immortal, I think the children watching the show are worried about how Gira and the others will defeat Grodie, but I myself don't know how they'll defeat him (laughs). I think the Directors and screenwriters are also struggling with this, thinking, "This guy's immortal…"
"Looking back on filming so far, what are your impressions?"
Amano: For me, I'm happy to be able to come back to a Toei tokusatsu production like this and reunite with Directors and staff. It really is like returning to your childhood house, and it's so calming. I was able to experience new things such as shooting with live compositing, which I think I'll be able to use in my future work.
"Grodie is still giving the King-Ohger's a hard time, but what are some of the key points to watch out for in the future?"
Amano: For me, the most important point was bringing Mama (Iroki) back to life (laughs). I've achieved that goal, so from now on, I'd like you to pay attention to how many kings he can defeat! There are 6 of them, so I'd like to take half of them, 3, no, maybe 4. I especially want to crush Kaguragi, Hymeno, Rita and Jeramie with my own hands! (laughs).
"Finally, please give a message to the fans."
Amano: When the show first aired, I watched as a viewer, but then I was asked to join the cast. Every time I get a script, I'm inspired and think, "This is how it's going to unfold!," and I'm even more excited than the viewers about what's going to happen next. I'm sad to see it come to an end, but at the same time, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ends. Please watch King-Ohger to the end!
Tomokazu Seki Interview
Sometimes he's the retainer for the King of In between, other times, he's a Jester for the Uchu King…Tomokazu Seki, well known to be a tokusatsu fan, plays the dual roles of Gerojim and Minongan Moth in King-Ohger. How did Tomokazu Seki, who has played heroes, villians, and item voices in numerous tokusatsu productions, including the Super Sentai series, approach the offer of playing two recurring monsters? And what about his ambitions for future series?! He spoke to us about it in detail.
"Seki-san's first involvement with King-Ohger was as MC for the production press conference, right?"
Seki: That's because Miyajima Sakura-san, who'd been the MC every year, had a scheduling conflict, so I was called in as a substitute. At the time, nothing had been decided about my appearance in the original story, but I thought I could just by saying so, so I jokingly said at the press conference "I might appear in the show," and then it happened. I was asked, "Would you prefer to play a role that's strong but only appears for a short time, or a role that's weak but appears all the time?" I said, "I'd rather be in it all the time," and got the role of Gerojim.
"Were you told from the beginning that you would become Jeramie's retainer?"
Seki: I think that's what I was told. I heard that the setting was about "two people who are undecided," and that Jeramie, a half human half Bugnarak, and Gerojim, a Bugnarak who's said to "not be all there," developed a sense of sympathy for each other.
"How did you prepare for the role of Gerojim?"
Seki: In the beginning, the only information I had from the script was the tone of his voice and that he was a mayfly monster, so I developed an image of him from there. I've played various roles in tokusatsu productions, but this time I wanted to play a role that I hadn't played before in other works, so I decided to do it in the image of Ayanami Rei from "Evangelion" due to the fragile atmosphere of the mayfly motif. I'm trying to imitate the feeling of Hayashibara Megumi-san's Ayanami Rei, who has a fragile voice and tone, but actually has a strong core. When I saw the visuals afterwards, I was surprised at how unexpectedly large he was, and Saito Kenya-san, the Suit Actor, seemed alittle strong in his performance at first. I still played the role with a sense of fragility.
"Were you aware of any changes in Gerojim as you played him?"
Seki: Since Gerojim's only human relationship is basically with Jeramie, I was conscious of how their relationship was deepening. As he scolded Jeramie in episode 25, he doesn't just obey him, but he also became someone with whom he could properly criticize and rebuke. I tried to express the deepening of their relationship in this way.
"Now, we'd like to talk about Minongan Moth. When was it decided that Seki-san would play the second role of Minongan?"
Seki: After Gerojim had been around for some time, I received an offer to play another role. The Director chose me saying, "He's like Chewbacca from Star Wars, and since he doesn't talk much, I think it's fine playing a double role, so I'd like you to do it." However, I thought that if Gerojim and Minongan were to appear at the same time, and the opening credits showed that I was playing both roles, it would create the misconception that the characters were related. I told them, "It'd be fine if Minongan went uncredited," but in reality, they went to the trouble of separating them into two with, "Gerojim: Tomokazu Seki" and "Minongan: Tomokazu Seki." I thought, "It's emphasized even more, isn't it?" (laughs).
"What was your first impression of Minongan's character?"
Seki: He's big. He's a bagworm monster, but he's a white bagworm with pinkish tips that look like matchsticks. That's why I got the impression that he's a "matchstick" (laughs). Also, because he's a bagworm, I wondered if there was something inside. We had the nickname "Secrecy Minongan" from the beginning, but what he was hiding hadn't been determined yet. We were also talking about the possibility of another role if a stronger one emerged from inside him. There was a proposal to make it look like something was there, but there's nothing, and since it was clearly stated in episode 38 that "something's in there," that idea seems to have been dropped.
"How did you prepare for the role of Minongan?"
Seki: The character wasn't really defined yet, but I did keep the "Chewbacca like character" in mind that I was told about in the beginning. So, I began by looking at Chewbacca. I started thinking about how to express him with a cry like that. However, in episode 38, I was suddenly asked to imitate J.Y.Park (laughs).
"That was the Director's instructions, wasn't it?"
Seki: Yeah, it was absurd. When I read the script, I was surprised that Minongan, who had never spoken at all before, was suddenly speaking fluently, and I thought I was going to speak in the stiff voice that Minongan had always had. But during the dubbing, I was told, "Please forget Minongan's voice and speaking style and just imitate J.Y.Park" and, "Although the lines are written in the script, please do whatever you like without worrying too much." So I did research and did it that way. So, although it was an adlib, it was an adlib after being asked to do so.
"I see (laughs)."
Seki: After the recording session was over, I was told that "something" inside Minongan was getting smarter as he grew, which is how he was able to speak like that. If that was the case, it would've been nice if I could've at least made him speak the same way in the last part of episode 38 and after episode 39, but since I had to record the scene with Ishida Akira-san (who voices Dagded), I had to record the scene where he talks with Dagded in the last part of episode 38 first, so I wasn't able to do it. Only during the idol auditions did he suddenly become a character who talks alot. I regret that I failed abit in that part.
"Do you often record together with Dagded and the other members of the Uchu Five Jesters?"
Seki: As Minongan, I work with Ishida-san's Dagded and Miki Shinichiro-san's Kamejim, and as Gerojim, I worked with Shimura Tomoyuki-san's Desnarak VIII. In particular, Miki-san and Shimura-san seemed to be enjoying King-Ohger quite alot, because about an hour before the recording, they'd stand around the parking lot talking about things like, "I wonder what's going to happen next?" When I myself happened to arrive at the site early, the three of us would talk.
"For our interview with Miki-san in the previous issue (Uchusen Vol. 182), we could tell that he was enjoying this production. Seki-san, how do you view King-Ohger?"
Seki: I observed the filming in the early days of the series, and I think that the use of LED walls to film virtual productions was a major turning point for the series. The setting itself, in which the real world that we live is almost completely absent, is also new, and I feel that the detailed creation of the world through the use of such filming techniques is one of the best in the series. The footage of the Robo battle in the pilot episodes, with the roof tiles flying off piece by piece, was also very powerful, and left an impression on me.
"As a performer, were there any moments or scenes that have left an impression on you?"
Seki: It's got to be a scene between Gerojim and Jeramie. In episode 29, they both left to look at the night sky together. It's fun to play those kinds of scenes. Also, this was the first time I was able to ride in a Sentai Robo.
"God King-Ohger from episode 25, right?"
Seki: Many of the characters I've played in Super Sentai are villains, so being able to ride in a Robo on the hero side was a great memory. That's why episode 25 left a very strong impression on me.
"Even though this was your first time working in a Sentai Robo, we have the impression that you often appear in the series. Is there anything else you'd like to do in Super Sentai?"
Seki: Of course, I'd like to transform into a hero as myself atleast once. Recently, the age range of Super Sentai heroes has broadened, but it's still rare to see a hero in their 50s transforming. I'd like to play a warrior who's elderly or in the prime of their life
"What color would you like to change into?"
Seki: I think either brown or gray. Silver is fine, but I like brown warriors alot. I even want to do a "Brown Warriors Great Gathering" at Theater G-Rosso (laughs). There'd be Zusheen from "Choujin Bibyun," Ground Ninja from "Ninja Captor," and Sanagiman from "Inazuman." Actually, I haven't done many enemy bosses. I've only done it once with Kaiser Buldont in "Chouriki Sentai Ohranger." It's actually been awhile since I've played an enemy leader. It's been 26 years since I did Bibidebi from "Denji Sentai Megaranger." In particular, when it comes to "handsome" villains, I've only done Gaisoulg (Ryusoulger), so I'd like to do more cool enemy bosses and leaders. Of course, I'd like to also do transformation items again. It'll soon be 50 years since the birth of Super Sentai. I'd love to work on the transformation items of the Sentai at that time.
"You still have alot of things you'd like to do! So, is there anything you'd like to see happen in the future with King-Ohger?"
Seki: Gerojim's mimic ability, which appeared early on, hasn't been utilized much lately, so I'd like to see him take advantage of it. I'd like to see Gerojim change into Jeramie and protect the country while the real Jeramie goes out and takes care of bad guys. It'd be like a journey to reform the world in a period drama, in which Jeramie is active in the city, and Gerojim is trying his best as a shadow warrior, feeling like he'll be exposed.
"That sounds interesting. Now then, please tell us some future highlights of King-Ohger."
Seki: What's really inside Minongan? Is there really nothing? Since it's moths that emerge from bagworms, a very beautiful and elegant moth monster may emerge from within to torment the King-Ohger's with its scales. When the King-Ohger's attacks, a coat materializes and becomes a shield.
"Sounds strong. It's like he's the final boss."
Seki: That's right, he'll be the final boss. Well, this is all just my imagination (laughs), but please pay attention to him, as I want to make the King-Ohger's suffer as the enemy until the very end.

Anything You Can Do (Jamil)
Jamil is incredibly dedicated to his charade of mediocrity, but Reader can snap him out of it faster than he can scramble for his usual level-head
AKA: (almost) anything Jamil does, Reader can do better and it drives him crazy
— (°ω°╬)
Years of perfecting himself, building skill upon skill to be the best retainer for the spoiled brat Kalim, while also perfecting the facade of just average so said brat boy wouldn't be outshined
ALL GONE IN A BLINK
FUCK
Jamil isn't one for raging. He gets annoyed, he sasses and maybe even snaps sometimes, but lately, he's gotten so worked up that he can't help it
His many pillows have met the walls of his room too many times
All because he just. Can't. Win.
Jamil can cook? (Y/N)'s food is apparently tastier and better looking, according to everyone (but Kalim). Jamil can clean? (Y/N) renovated the entire Ramshackle building practically by herself. Jamil can dance? (Y/N) also dances and he will admit himself that she's absolutely mesmerizing. Jamil can play basketball? (Y/N) used to be in her previous world's school team... As the captain.
The only two things he does that she can't do are tending to Kalim and using magic, both which he can't pride himself for being superior
He promised himself years ago that he'd never feel proud that he is Kalim's slave servant. That, and the mere thought of her tending to Kalim makes Jamil feel a bit too murder happy, independent of how well she might do it
And magic is just something he was born with, it's hard to feel superior when she can literally do everything he can without the safety net of magic. And it would've been unfair to say he's better in a competition she can't even participate
He feels the need to prove to (Y/N) that he is capable. Of what exactly, he doesn't know, but he feels the need to prove himself and it makes his self control slip and next thing he knows, he's getting above 90 in all tests, outshining Kalim's ~80 for the first time since they were children
And. He. Still. Lost.
Because (Y/N) just had to go the extra mile and get even higher scores than him
He feels like slapping his cheeks in the hopes of waking up from this nightmare
And maybe forget the warmth that pooled inside him when she—his rival—congratulated him with a sunny smile and told him she was proud of him for showing his intelligence
Again. FUCK.
— (°ω°╬)
Jamil is not one for running away, specially not like a sinner running in shame from the temple, but this time he barely processes who talked to thin before turning to walk the opposite side. Of all days for Kalim to be sick and leave Jamil alone. Were he a bit more paranoid, he's wonder if they were working behind his back, but, then again, Kalim would never be able to hide a plot from Jamil.
So he runs.
Until he doesn't.
Because Jamil is a failure, he's figuring, a weak man who cannot help but yearn for his tormentor.
It's her voice. It's his name in her voice. That's what stops him on his tracks and makes him turn to her.
She approaches with a sheepish smile—beautiful like every other expression she has ever and will ever make, more beautiful than Jamil might ever be able understand—, clutching her folder to her chest. He wishes he had his folder to hide behind.
"Yes?"
"Can you... Can you braid my hair? I keep messing it up, and you have some really nice braids..."
"Uh..." He answers eloquently.
Next thing he knows, he is sitting behind her on a random bench, gently braiding her hairin a simple but charming hairstyle, while she praises him for his tender handling and confides that braids are her weakness.
"No matter how many times I try, the braid never comes out good," (Y/N) says, turning her head just enough so he can see her smile, "You're so good at it, though, I'm glad I asked you! Thank you so much for helping me, Jamil!"
And oh. He now understands what he wanted to prove so badly.
"You can come to me for anything, I'll gladly help you"
Someone who can do everything by herself does not need him, after all.

Tumblr media
“What about this one?”
Feet swinging in the air as you lay on your stomach with your head resting on a pillow, you pause your constant scrolling on your Pinterest feed on a specific style and turn your phone around to show it off to your boyfriend, who was rummaging through his backpack searching for a paper to finish an assignment in class that wasn’t due for weeks.
Holding your phone up for him to see, Pav gives a small hum of approval as he walks past the bed, paper in hand, eyeing the screen before leaning down to kiss your temple and falling back into his desk chair. “It’s just as amazing as the last, you’d look great with those braids! You should get them.”
Groaning, your phone falls back in front of you and you turn your attention back to mindlessly scrolling through more posts. “You basically said the same thing for all of the others!” You whine, feeling his head slightly shake as he laughs at your annoyance.
“And I meant it for every last one, Y/N,” he chirps, abandoning his work to join you in bed, laying by your side with his head resting in the palm of his hand as he propped himself up with an arm, laptop now discarded on the other side of your bed. “Your beauty matches every hairstyle you’ve shown, you’re overcomplicating it, dear. Pick the hairstyle you love the most. I’ll love it no matter what.”
Unable to ever get use to his constant affection and sappy words, you look away and bury your head into your pillow. “You’re no help, you’d encourage me to go bald if I told you I wanted to shave my head!”
“With zero hesitation, I’ll even buy you wigs for it if you want! You have a wonderful head shapes, and you wouldn’t be as hot in the summer-” “Pav!” “Sorry, I can’t help it, you pull off any and every style.”
Tilting your head up to look him in the eyes, Pav beams at you and gives you another friendly reminder of just how distracted you can become when your boyfriend smiles at you, you ought to buy sunglasses to protect yourself from the rays of sunshine. Your face goes back into your pillow in a fit of frustration, phone long forgotten and he senses your agitation, pouting at your depleted form.
“You know, angel, if picking a style is so hard you could always wear it regular?” He suggested while making a point of it to affectionately pat your bonnet where your hair would be, only to almost immediately regret it when your head shot up and you gave him a pointed look. “Natural? Pav, please.”
“I’m only trying to help, you always look great with your natural hair! Your Afros are my favorite~” he practically purred, rolling over on top of you and propping himself up on his hands, forcing you to do the same to face him as your stomach tingled with the familiar feeling of butterflies.
“As tempting as that is, not all of us are born with genetically superior hair gifted by the gods that lets us wake up and walk out of the house with looks that could put all models to shame,” you snicker, your left hand reaching up to run a hand through said gorgeous locks and your right cupping his cheek. You could see the hint of pride shining in his eyes at your indirect compliment, making a point of flipping his hair out of his face to show off, but he didn’t let it distract him from your predicament.
“But I love your hair!” He argued. “Me too! You know what I don’t love? Tired arms, a messy bathroom and hair product ending up stuck under my nails for days. Coconut oil can only get one so far, sweetheart. I don’t feel like putting in the effort right now.”
Despite your good point, Pavitr was not a quitter and was proving to live up to his reputation of being extremely dedicated, and persuasive at that. “What if I help you?”
“No way.”
“I’m really skilled with my hands!”
“Nu uh.”
“We can even match!”
“Are you insane?”
“I can even make up a style for you! I saw a video a few days ago where-”
“Absolutely not.”
What came after was a silent argument communicated through a very long staring contest between you two that surely lasted longer than a minute, but you were kidding yourself if you thought you’d be able to say no to his begging when he was looking at you with such pleading eyes and a forced frown on his face that you were certain he was doing on purpose because he knew you’d cave.
Unfortunately for you, he was right.
Sighing and letting your head fall back onto the pillow, you sighed in defeat and raised your hands as a sign of surrender. “Fine, but you have to do exactly as I say, exactly as I say, and god so help me if you screw up-”
“Yes!!!” Pav had already halfway tuned you out, cupping your face to pepper kisses all over your cheeks, forehead and nose before planting a final one on your lips and jumping up to run into the bathroom and get started. “I promise you’re going to love it!”
“-and you better not waste any of my product!”

A Ghost x Jade Modern Warfare II story
Tumblr media
Prologue : Hard Time
Inspired by Hard Time by Seinabo
“So… how much for a small bouquet of roses, Miss?” A teenager dressed in high school uniform stood in front of the displayed red colored flower of love, belonging to the Le Jardin floristry in London. His hands were tightly situated inside his trouser’s pockets, clearly shaking.
Jade smiled at the sight. His height was the same as hers, though she probably had a good decade on him. Immaculate hairstyle, not a single fold visible on his clothes, and blushing so hard his face was about to turn as red as her hair. The florist knew that this young boy’s most likely about to declare his love for his crush.
“A small bouquet would cost 15 quid, but for you, young lad,” she patted the boy’s shoulder softly, “12’s enough.”
The boy chimed in joy, “That’s great! I’ll take one, please.”
“I’ll wrap it up in white paper and plastic, tied with a ribbon for finishing. Does that work?” An aggressive nod from him made her smile ear to ear. “One bouquet coming right up!” Walking to the back of the shop to gather her best roses, Jade started to collect and the five roses in her hands, arranging the best flowers for the boy to confess with.
As she focused the task at hand, a ringtone of her phone interrupted her work. It was a different tune than her regular one, which could only mean one thing. When she fished out her device from her pocket, Jade immediately pressed the green icon upon seeing the name on the screen.
Putting the phone between her ear and shoulder, she continued her work, “Hi, Kate.”
“Hey, Jade. Always so cheerful.”
Jade could hear the smile from the CIA’s voice. Laswell had been a friend since her black agent days; a mentor figure of hers, leading her through lots of missions and assignments throughout the globe. Both women admired each other, and learned from each other a lot. If not for their affiliations, they’re sure they’d work together more.
“Been a long time since I heard your voice, Kate. What's up? Bit busy right now.” She said as her hands arranged the flowers in her palm.
“Sorry to disturb your work, but I need you.”
“Oh? Do you have a funeral? Wedding? Flower for your wife, perhaps? Are you visiting London? The weather sucks this time of year, though.”
“No. I need you, Jade.” Kate’s voice turned serious.
The emphasis on her codename told her what she needed to know, causing her to sigh on the phone, “…Laswell. Verdansk was my last assignment. You know I don't do this anymore–”
“Major Hassan Zyani of Iran is in possession of an American missile. We don't know where he got it from, or where the target is. What we know is that we eliminated his superior General Ghorbrani six months ago, and we think he wants retaliation.”
Laswell, always to the point. All that information though, caught Jade’s attention while she took out the white papers and transparent plastic around the roses. “…Continue.”
“We tried to apprehend him in Al Mazrah where we found the first missile, but he escaped and is now in Las Almas. We need your help to track him down, find the other missile, and dig up his plans with it.” the CIA continued.
“Las Almas? City of Souls, huh.” Taking the hanging ribbon from the wall, the florist started to wrap it around the base of the bouquet.
“Yes. Once you’re there, you will be united with Colonel Alejandro Vargas from the Mexican Special Forces. He's a local, so you'll get a lot of help from him. Sending the picture and files to you.”
Jade pulled the phone from her shoulder, looking at the images of the said soldier. “Oh, hello there.” Mexican Special Forces sounded cool as heck in her ears. He looked charming, she’d give him that. “Give me a few hours. I need to prepare my gears and contact MI6.”
“No need. I already notified MI6. You're free to go. Your wheels up in 3 hours.”
“Oh?”
“And one more thing. Ghost and Soap will join you.”
Jade halted her handiwork at the name drop. “...Ghost and Soap?”
“Yes. I believe you've acquainted yourselves in Verdansk. They're the ones who found the missile in Al Mazrah. They'll see things through.”
“...Huh.” She couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped her mouth.
“Any issues?” Laswell questioned from the other side.
“Not at all, Kate.” Jade tied the red ribbon on the front of the bouquet with finality. “Not at all.”
As the Brit finished her work, she took her handiwork into her arms, picking the phone from her shoulders. “Okay. I’ll be there."
“Sorry to disturb you again, Jade, but we could really use your help.” Laswell tried to explain herself, “You know I wouldn’t reach you if this wasn't a matter of emergency.”
“No problem at all, Kate. How can I ever say no to you, right? Oh Mrs. CIA.” A laugh from the other side made her chuckle. Tapping the red button on the phone, the florist put both of her palms on the table, staring at the roses she prepared.
Twenty years of service - she thought she’s done with this life, move on, live like a regular adult. Have a job, make a friend or two, get some food, have a family–
Well, she’s not lucky on that part yet, living basically all her life doing the dirty assignments and killing everyone MI6 saw as a threat, guilty or innocent. There was never any room for romance. She’s an adopted daughter of a couple MI6 retired black agents, whom she devoted her life to fill their shoes for. Now, all she wanted was a normal life, but of course, Laswell thought that her skills could do more good; keep the world safe, protect the people she loved, and that the world still needed her.
Jade scoffed before standing back up. She still had a boy in the front of her shop, waiting to confess to his crush. Sometimes she envied the people who come to her shop. They came in with events they want to celebrate, be it birthdays. weddings, anniversaries, funerals...
Love confessions.
She couldn’t help the smile on her face. “At least I can help the young lad.” And so, Jade walked to the frontside of the shop with the roses, finding the boy sitting on a chair, playing what seemed to be a mobile shooting game as his thumbs rapidly moved across the screen.
“Hey.” Jade called to him, making the boy flinch and close whatever game he’s playing. As he stood up, he saw the red and white bouquet on her hands, his eyes instantly glimmered with awe.
The woman stretched her arms to give her handiwork to him and fished out little colorful plastics containing sweets from the jar on the counter. “Here’s your bag of roses, and here’s some candy. Sugar will raise your confidence to the max. Good luck, Mate.” Jade said as she gave the bouquet and the candies to him.
“Thanks, Miss. I owe you lots.” The boy grinned.
“You’ll do well. Cease the moment!” Raising her fist in the air in front of her, he responded with a fistbump, before giving her the money and ran out of the florist, ready for his love declaration.
Looking at the clock on the wall, there’s still a few hours left until the shop closes, but considering the situation at hand, she walked to the door and flipped the hanged tag from 'open' to 'closed'.
Now, contacting her parents. Jade sighed as she scrolled her contacts list to find her father's number, because she knew how her parents felt about this. They wouldn't take this news well.
After a few beeps on the line, he picked up the call.
“Pa, Ma.”
“Hi, Lottie Dear! What’s up? Is the shop going well?” Her father, Eli's gentle yet stern voice rang through the phone.
“We’re just a few hours from London. Is something the matter, Love?” A feminine voice joined, which could only belong to her mother.
The two had been out of London for the week to pick up flowers from their private fields in Norfolk. Twenty years in business after their retirement – or, rather disappearances – from MI6, they thought having their own fields of flowers would be a great investment. Having their own farmers and land, it helped them with the continuity of their business.
Hearing their delightful voices, Jade's almost sorry to deliver them the news. “Yeah. Laswell called me again.”
The silence on the line told her that her parents were contemplating between themselves. Their daughter promised them that 2019 was her last mission. Now that the elder couple heard the CIA's name again, Jade needed to tell them what's going on.
"What's the situation?" Her father inquired, heaviness filling his voice.
“This Iranian Major has an American-made missile in his possession. He’s currently hiding in Las Almas. This’ll take probably a month or so.” Jade explained to her parents. “I won’t be alone, though. There are others with me this time. Wheels up in 3 hours.”
"Who will be with you?" Again, her father asked. This protective side of his had been a major character of his, even though Jade wouldn't complain about it at all.
Jade huffed, "Mexican Special Forces, and two operators of SAS, the ones I met three years ago back in Verdansk. There might be more, but that's all I know so far. Laswell will tell me more once I've packed my bags."
Silence lingered on the line, save for the faint sound of the car they're driving at the moment on the background. Jade knew that her parents were conversing without speaking, a trait she knew all too well.
Her mother, Gracie, clicked her tongue, "Do you really have to go?" Jade could hear reluctance in her voice. "You said you were done, Verdansk was your last assignment - you promised us, remember?"
Jade closed her eyes as she looked down at her arms, peppered with old scars from her days as a black agent, days she wanted to leave behind. However, as she reflected upon her phone call with Laswell earlier, it actually didn't take much for the CIA agent to convince her about joining in on this mission.
"And I'm sure I don't have to remind you about what happened 12 years ago, in Cuba." Eli said to her.
Well.
There's that.
One of the worst assignments that Jade had to take, and how it changed her life. A mission that even Laswell have no knowledge about.
"...Does it have to be you, Lottie Dear?"
That sentence from her mother made her stomach churn. She's her mother after all.
Jade couldn't say anything to that, other than the fact that Laswell wouldn't contact her in the first place if she had any other better name in mind. She didn't know too much about the mission yet to determine why Laswell had to call her, and saying the CIA's name once more wouldn't ease her parents' concern at the moment.
"...Yeah." she only mumbled lowly.
Silence still lingered. Either they would allow this, or she's going to have to go against her parents' wishes.
"It's a long time ago, more than a decade, Pa. I'm okay now, and I won't be alone, remember?" Jade said as her last attempt at reasoning with her parents. "I have some very strong and capable people covering my back, so don't be too worried, okay?"
Jade thought she had to do the latter, until her father spoke, “Alright, Love. Have a safe trip." Hearing her father's confirmation, Jade looked up straight in surprise. "Take your gears, it’s in my armory. The key’s in uhh…”
“In your Pa’s study. Lowest drawer. Take everything you need, including the ‘persuasion’ kits too, if you ever find yourself needing it.” Her mother’s voice interrupted. “Sharpen your blades, loosen your muscles, be vigilant, Dear.”
“And don’t worry about the shop. We’ll do fine.” Her father assured.
Jade scoffed at her parents’ voice. They’re the best parents she could ever ask for. “I know, Pa. Ma.”
“Good. Be careful, Lottie. We love you.”
“I love you both, too. See you.” After hanging up the call, Jade huffed in relief. Step one was completed. Now she didn't have to go to the mission carrying a heavy heart with her.
'Ghost and Soap will join you.'
Laswell’s voice lingered in her mind. She knew the latter is the youngest SAS personnel with exceptional abilities and potential, but the former, though?
He's a handful.
When they first met in Verdansk, the skull-faced SAS lieutenant was the most foul-mouthed man she’s ever met. Cursed like there’s no tomorrow and underestimated her to the point that she got her nickname, Midget. She’s not even that short! Jade’s just average UK woman’s height! Offended to the bone, she got back at him by calling Ghost Beanpole, even though she must admit, his physique was the furthest thing from a beanpole, but she’s nowhere near midget either (again, even though he’s got a good 1 foot on her).
Anyway, their meeting was unpleasant, as there were divisions and distrust amongst the Armistice in Verdansk. Their rivalries started, going from the fact that they both work alone, specialize in stealth, and seem to have a close personal relationship with their blades. Ghost and her had been an acquaintance and no more, save for the bastard-calling part.
Don’t get her wrong, Ghost was certainly not someone you’d want as an enemy. He would’ve been a great ally to fight alongside with, if and only if he’s a little bit more agreeable to the people around him. Jade wondered what else Ghost, Soap, and the new Mexican ally had in store for her in this mission.
But that’s for the future to think about. For now, she’s got a flight to catch.

There's the prologue for "Cold Heart"! This series will be updated kinda irregularly (I will try regularly tho. Probably around once a week/two week).
Hope you enjoyed that and stay tuned!

And the second batch of tonight is the Koopalings! FOR WHICH I HAVE A LOT OF WORDS SO YEAH LOL.
The Koopalings are kids that Bowser used to babysit when he was a teenager, as a sort of "prep for when he became king" (in actuality the other nobles just dumped the kids on him during their alone times lol). Larry is Ludwig's younger brother, Wendy and Roy are also siblings, but the other three aren't related. The older kids liked to make fun of how much of a worrywart Bowser was with them by calling him "dad" but they stopped around Junior's birth so as to not confuse the kid later on. (Junior still looks up to them as surrogate older siblings tho) they're also all different ages - Larry is 19, Lemmy is 20, Iggy is 21, Wendy is 23, Roy and Morton are 25, Ludwig is 26.
Larry I did not change all that much, I leaned into him being the more eager during sport games to make him a jock, currently in Koopa University with a tennis scholarship. Since he's the closest in age to Junior he's the one he tends to spend the most time with.
I changed Lemmy's hairstyle because the mohawk + rattail combo was too 80's for me and it was hell to draw so rainbow hair in a ponytail is my compromise lol. He's part of a local performing troupe and has honed his acrobat skills accordingly, sometimes getting top billing on shows.
Wendy got a bit more of a glowup than the rest lol - she has hair now and made her scales a bit darker to match Roy. She's studying to become a professional interior designer and decorator and has a side job as lifeguard.
As for Iggy, he works as a mechanic for the numerous Kart tournaments and considers himself the top kart designer and creator due to the speed at which he can finish his projects, flaunting his superiority which earns him the ire of his coworkers constantly. He's quick to accept criticism, though.
Morton runs a building and demolition company alongside Spike as co-owner, and has the most stable job out of all Koopalings sans Ludwig. He takes good care of his crew and is in charge of first aid alongside his planning and building work.
Roy for the most part works as a DJ in 3 different nightclubs, and can be summed up as "If Blanche Deveraux from Golden Girls was a man in his mid-20's" aka a bit of a slut. Despite this he has a degree in electricity and electronics, he just doesn't use it much except for quick fixes around his house and for friends.
Lastly, Ludwig is a permanent orchestral director and composer at Koopa Theatre, and likes to boast of the many plays he has composed for. He does sometimes go to Roy for advice when he hits a creative block, as he is so classically-trained deviating from that is hard for him and he doesn't all his work to sound the same.

a/n: I accidentally deleted the request but someone asked for: "chigiri, friends to lovers" if u see this thanks for requesting, its my first ever "xreader" i hope it doesn't suck that much.
character:Chigiri Hyouma
content:fluff,a bit of angst, but mostly fluff
。゚゚・。・゚゚。
゚。 Friends to Lovers w/ Chigiri ♡ ゚・。・゚
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
As friends
•As we all know chigiri has been popular as soon as he got into highschool for his talent(and for his looks obvi)so you probably heard of him before becoming his friend
•I think it would have been hard to be his friend
•Before his knee injury, because of his football skills he always thought of himself as superior to others but i feel like he was also modest about it.
•His personality was kinda a 50/50
•After the injury that feeling of superiority crumbles but he had a hard time and ended up building walls around himself
•So yeah,to become his friend you would have to be really patient
•But lets say that u managed to overcome this arduous task and became his friend(yay!!)
•You guys would probably spend lunch together in silence enjoying eachothers company or have some small talk
•If you're somebody who's into "having a good apparece" you would probably talk about fashion, hairstyles, etc.
•I feel like before going to Blue Lock he couldn't really open up about football bc it made him remember his past
•So if you two probably didn't talk about football much and it would be better for the friendship
•He appreciates you for still being by his side since you're probably one of the few people that still recognize him for who he is,after his sister and mother. That's probably when he started to feel something for you but he kept it low-key bc he really didn't need to get hurt even more tbh😔🫂
•Also bc he wouldn't want his family to find out bc they would tease the crap out of him
•I JUST KNOW THAT HE'D BE THE TYPE OF FRIEND THAT WOULD BUY YOU SOMETHING WARM TO DRINK WHEN ITS COLD OR SOME SNACKS,OR THE TYPE OF FRIEND THAT WILL TELL U THE TRUTH YOU NEED TO HEAR BC HE KNOWS THAT IT WOULD MAKE YOU IMPROVE EVEN IF IY HURTS
•love him frfr
He starts falling for u
•I feel like with Chigiri u probably fell first but he fell harder
•You fell first but when he had girls drooling over him and he rejected all of them bc he wanted to focus only on football, gotta admit,it scared u
•And when them fake ass bitches left bc he stopped playing soccer it just felt wrong
• +100 points for u for being considerate of his feeling
•So the both of u kept ur feeling for urself and expected them to just fade away since u two we're already friends, but surprise surprise, they didn't left and u were stuck with them. Especially when he left for blue lock without saying much,u just thought about moving on but who can tbh
•Chigiri liked u for ur kind, positive and cheerful personality, the perfect energy that he needed when the world seemed against him.
•He probably realized how much he liked you when he was in Blue lock very far away from you, when no one was there to tell him that's everything was going to be fine.
•When he managed to get his hands of his phone he texted hai family and you
•You were surprised and happy that he remembered you and so was him when u texted back
•You both promised eachothers and you were gonna meet up as soon as possible
•and y'all did
•You two decided to meet up at a cute coffee shop to catch up and it's exactly what happened, you guys clicked and ended up talking for hours.
•You we're nevrvous about meeting him again since ur crush was still there but it was a relief that he was doing better and seeing him talk about football again with happy eyes
•Yup, everything was fine and you started hanging out more often when he had time
•Everyone around you probably thought you two were dating
•Everything felt so natural that u both forgot that none of y'all confessed💀
•He was so stressed about it cuz he wanted to be more than friends but didn't know how to tell u
•He was thinking to hard about it at the point that the next time u guys met up you noticed he was acting a bit weird: he was avoiding eye contact,he wouldn't even make the mistake to be close to u and his answers were really dry,but sometimes you could see him blush a little bit and noticed how sometimes his ears would get red
•While he was fighting himself to choose how to tell you about his feelings to you just managed to obtain mixed signals
•so confusing ikr
•So one day when he was taking you back to your house you decided to ask him about it
~imagine this:
You guys were side by side walking towards your house, none of you were talking,it was a bit awkward ngl.
The sun was saying its goodbye and it was getting cold but it didn't bother you since all the toughts that were going through your head were distracting you.
You stopped walking and he noticed so he stopped too after taking some steps ahead.
"Y/N..? Is everything ok?" Chigiri asked with his calm voice, but he looked at you with a bit of concern since you weren't answering.
He took some steps to get closer to you and that's when you said:" Chigiri can i ask you something?"trying to not look at him in the eyes.
"Sure" he said.
"Is everything ok between us,you've been acting a bit distant lately, did i do something to upset you?" You said, proud of yourself for managing to say it without stuttering or sounding desperate.
There was a bit of silence and you were ready to just move on and tell him that you could just walk by yourself from here.
You looked at him and it was your first time seeing him with a face color that matched his hair.
"..I'm sorry, that's the total opposite of what I'm trying to do" he said with a quiet voice audible only to you
You stayed silent waiting for him to say more.
"Actually Y/N(🤓), there's something I've been wanting to tell you for the past months"he said.
You were looking at him with eyes full of hopes that something might change from today(spoiler: it did)
"I like you..I've been liking you for a while to be precise,I don't know if it's the right time or if you-Are you crying?"
He notice you trying to opress your sobs, without much success.
"Was my confession that bad?" He asked with a nervous smile on his face.
It wasn't,in fact it was the best thing you've been told this past months. What a relief, you felt like you could finally breathe.
"No. No,it was good. Pretty good actually" you said while trying to get rid of the tears at the end of your eyes, while having a big smile printed in your face.
"It's such a relief,I'm glad" you said.
"So..Do u feel the same?" he said while coming closer to u,wanting to hold your hand.
"Isn't it obvious?" You said while laughing a bit,he also laughed, feeling at ease in the moment.
•and y'all started dating. Happy ending yay
a/n: Should I do a part.2 with chigiri as ur bf?lemme know. Thanks for reading.

A Lady Made of Snow
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own The Hunger Games franchise, the images above, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, or any of the characters in this fic other than Bellova and her parents. I also do not condone the beliefs or actions of Coriolanus or Bellova.
SUMMARY: Bellova is done letting Coriolanus’s presence hinder her. She decides it’s time to take back control once and for all.
⚠️Warnings⚠️: slight angst, implications of blackmail
A/n: This chapter takes place right before the epilogue in TBOSAS occurs. I know it’s a short chapter, but the next two will be MUCH longer :))
An hour after returning home from President Ravinstill’s mansion, Bellova lay in bed, clutching her sheets tightly. It had taken her maid awhile to take all of the pins out of her intricate hairstyle, and she’d spent a significant amount of time in the bathroom, scrubbing off every last bit of makeup on her body. She took a scalding hot shower that helped soothe her aching muscles, but she was sure she’d still be sore in the morning. Finally, she had pulled on the first nightgown she could find in her massive closet, and crawled into bed.
Normally, Bellova would’ve fallen asleep straight away. Alcohol and partying was as exhausting as it was exhilarating.
But her body refused to rest.
Her heart hadn’t stopped pounding. Not since she left Coriolanus standing alone in that room.
He had scared her.
He had never made her felt that way before. She always felt superior, or at least equal, to him. Now, she wasn’t so sure.
When she had looked into his eyes, all she saw was cruelty and arrogance. Any trace of vulnerability seemed to have disappeared, but she was sure it was still there somewhere.
She just had to search harder for it.
Bellova sighed in frustration. She could not let his presence affect her. It would ruin all of the progress she had made since he had left, and it would give him the upper hand. And she would never willingly let him have the upper hand.
Her life would be so much better if he had stayed in District 12. But no, he had to ruin her peace.
Typical Snow.
But, as much as she hated it, she accepted that it was going to be difficult to continue ignoring him. She knew that with his charm and intellect, he was going to climb up the social ladder quickly. He would end up in a prominent position eventually, and then he’d be impossible to overlook.
‘There has to be a way to use his return to my advantage,’ she thought. ‘There must be. Or I will have no-one but myself to blame for my failure.’
Bellova racked her brain, searching for any snippet of her father’s words of wisdom to guide her. He knew plenty about power plays and how to use social connections to enhance status. In his younger years, he did many things in order to secure his position.
After all, his marriage to her late mother had been a political decision. She was born into the Avalon family, who had been involved in the justice system and lawmaking for generations. In marrying her, her father gained crucial connections to the higher-ups in the Department of Justice. He impressed them with his intelligence and ambition, and landed himself a powerful position in the department very quickly.
Her parents did learn to love each other eventually, but it took years of being together until that occurred. They had Bellova during their late twenties, and lived harmoniously for five years until her mother passed away.
When Bellova got a bit older, her father had a long discussion with her about the most powerful vices the world had to offer, and how each one could be twisted to work in her favor.
“Love is a beautiful but tricky thing,” he had said. “It can bring you unimaginable joy, but it can bring you unfathomable pain. It can be a hindrance, but it can be one of your strongest assets. You can harness it and use it to bring yourself happiness as well as power.
“And power? It can be just as beautiful as love.”
Then, Bellova knew.
She knew exactly how to end the constant battle for superiority she and Coriolanus had fought for years.
And if he turned her down, he would regret it.
After all, she had a long list of his secrets that were just begging to be spilled.
