Hello there!
I've been a huge fan of your art of Seb and Clora here on Tumblr for quite some time now. Maybe a year? Idk time is weird aksbjs. Anyway, I'm an artist myself, and I was just wondering, put simply, whats your art process? Like how you shade and color and stuff.
Anyway, have a nice day! And uh- sorry if this is awkward sksbdn.
DAMN youve basically been here since day 1 THANK YOUU😭 im glad you like my stuff!! and ur not awkward at all!!🥹💖💖 and i actually posted a timelapse of my process on twitter not that long ago, so ill post it here as well!
as you can see seb takes me the longest LMAOO hes such a menace for me to draw still...and i dont even think seeing my process helps since its just so much trial and error and warping until it looks right BAHAHA (this is from like a month ago and i ALREADY think seb looks off here too 💀) but my process is super simple, i just colour and cell shade on multiply and then i add a grain texture on soft light 10% at the end. i dont rly do anything fancy for colouring, bc i used to over-render my art and make it really complicated, but now im a fan of just having it look kinda...flat? if that makes sense LOL. i like it aesthetically AND its also easier. OH also something i add to the end of almost all my pieces is this auto-action from clip studio assets which basically adjusts the hue/saturation/brightness. here's an example of what the original flat colours look like vs. when i add this filter:
Tumblr media
even if you dont have clip studio the same effect could be achieved with just manually tweaking with the hue/saturation levels afterwards, but i like this filter just cuz its easy and makes the colours more how i like them HOPE THIS HELPS💖💖

This post has been 9 months in the making. 1 day for playing the wonderfully-illustrated city builder that is LakeSide by Massive Galaxy Studios, 1 day for trying to capture pixel-perfect GIFs, and 9 months for agonizing over the fact that it's sometimes impossible to capture or post pixel-perfect GIFs, therefore, it's better to not post anything at all until you feel so bad for your blog hiatus that you say enough is enough, get over it, and post this beauty of a game and talk about it because, really, that's what matters. Apologies to Gonçalo Monteiro, the main developer, for waiting this long.
LakeSide is a bit of a rougelite in that you're not building one eternal city over many sessions. Instead, it offers quick turnaround and replayability as you receive different building upgrades each time and experience random events. It's currently in Early Access on Steam ($11 at 25% off right now, Windows-only) with new features coming out regularly, most recently the addition of armies and sieges. Oh, and if you're wondering why the game looks this pretty, it's simple: art is made by @kirokazepixel.

On the one hand I wanted Across the Spiderverse to win, but on the other hand it’s nice to see a 2D animated film win an Oscar for the first time since Spirited Away back in 2003. It’s also the 2nd time since the 2006 and 2007 ceremonies that non-Disney/Pixar movies won a Best Animated Feature Oscar two consecutive years in a row (Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Happy Feet won at those aforementioned ceremonies).

Operation: ENHAPPIFICATION is underway!
Behold, the poster that I put together for this wonderful event happening in just a week and a half! In case you don't know, The Ghost and Molly McGee is one of my favorite animated shows and it was canned this year. Its fans are leading an effort to carry out Molly McGee's mission of "enhappifying" the world in OPERATION: ENHAPPIFICATION.
As part of this effort, Sunnyland Productions in collaboration with the Molly McGee Discord server (aka Mollycord) are airing a 6-hour charity livestream on Saturday, March 2 at 2 PM Eastern Time, featuring the cast and crew of The Ghost and Molly McGee! All proceeds from the event benefit the charity Give Kids the World, a nonprofit aiming to provide kids with critical illnesses a weeklong theme park resort experience free of charge, all in service of their happiness.
The event is co-hosted by Sunnyland Productions, Let Me Explain Studios and Mann of 1000 Thoughts, in cooperation with the wonderful folks of Mollycord. You can expect Q&As with our guests, games, premieres of fan projects and more. It's going to be a really fun event and I invite you all to join.
Our guests include the following:
show creators Bill Motz and Bob Roth
the voice of Scratch, Dana Snyder
the voice of Darryl McGee, Michaela Dietz
the voice of Libby Stein-Torres, Lara Jill Miller
the voice of Geoff, Eric Edelstein
the voice of Oliver Chen, Alan Lee
writers Sammie Crowley, Brandon Hoang, and Paul Chang
musician Rob Cantor
Come and watch at YouTube.com/@SunnylandProds on March 2 at 2pm EST, and FEEL FREE TO DONATE GENEROUSLY!
Follow @LongLiveTGAMM on Twitter for updates!
Note: this poster and visuals were made by me with input from the event's organizers and artists, and I'd like to especially thank Lemy for his help with this.

It happened...the one movie I really, TRULY cared about when it came to this year's Oscars (two if you include Barbie winning Best Original Song), How Do You Live/The Boy and the Heron FUCKING WON BEST ANIMATED FEATURE!!!!!
Not only did it, against all odds, beat out the front runner, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse but it did so with VERY little fanfare from the audience. Of the nominees, it was Across The Spider-Verse that got the most applause from the room, so when Hayao Miyazaki won his SECOND Oscar (and possibly his last), the lack of cheers from the audience was music to my ears. They REALLY wanted Across The Spider-Verse to win, but all the haters and whiners can SUCK IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!
Not only is this the SECOND Oscar Miyazaki has gotten, but it's also the SECOND anime movie to win the award, the second 2D film to ever win it, and it's also the first PG-13 animated film to win. If this was indeed Miyazaki's final film, it's safe to say he went out WITH A FUCKING BANG and made his mark on America once again.
Congrats once again to How Do You Live/The Boy and the Heron for winning not only the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature but also the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. With the additions of being the first PG-13 animated film to win, the second anime movie, and the second 2D animated film being some sprinkles on top.
