Smokebreaths are such funky little guys. Their design is so iconic to me, yet they barely get featured in any HTTYD media. I hope I did them justice :)

The way one could possibly figure out that Johann was the bad guy by watching episode 9—EPISODE 9—of Riders of Berk. Because he’s the one that gives Mildew the blue oleanders to plant. And he has to know what that means for dragons right? A trader such as himself should know anyway, disregarding the fact that second time watchers would know he’s a traitor.

I just need to know. Did the writers know about Johann this far back? Was this the beginning of his nefarious schemes?

And did the writers know what they were doing when Johann passes Berk the information about the supposed weapon Dagur is testing that turns out to not be true at all?

And I have other questions.

All the boats Heather tried to escape in. We only saw the one attempt but she had been doing it a few times between the two episodes. Was Johann leaving boats out for her? Because the episode seems to imply that there was always just a little boat waiting for her. Otherwise why would she be running to that beach instead of commandeering one of the Berk boats at the docks.

And Breakneck Bog… HOW DID HE KNOW HICCUP WOULD GO AFTER HIM? That’s a Viggo move, was he already working with Viggo? And he was probably hoping those Smothering Smokebreaths would weld the teens to the nest right? Or they’d be stranded forever?

And when the speed stingers attacked! Hiccup had left Berk to save Johann. Coincidental timing? I don’t know! Did Johann release the speed stingers? Was it truly just a case of bad timing?

And the baby smokebreaths that Johann brought with all the scrap metal. We know Dagur had a Berserker plant that but did Johann know what he was doing?

But also!!! Stoick would have clocked it as off if Johann’s attitude switched up as soon as the dragons were welcomed on Berk. Meaning Johann definitely wasn’t acting all evil asshole before the times we see him in the shows.

So my man was in this for the long haul. What reason, Johann? This level of foresight is beyond even Viggo. Predicting the exact island where there would be a boy who trained a dragon and ended the war with dragons? Spending literal decades building trust and this fake persona?

JOHANN, WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOUR PLANS??? I NEED TO KNOW!!!

Hello! :D

2024 is the year of the dragon! I figured there couldn't possibly be a better year for me to try this, so I'm throwing my hat in the ring and starting a HTTYD themed one-drawing-a-day art blog, heavily inspired by @onewolfaday and @onedragonperday.

I will be drawing one HTTYD species every day, and requests will be periodically open in case you want me to draw a specific species for you :)

With that being said...

Requests are currently CLOSED!

Commissions are open!

I hope my fellow HTTYD fans will appreciate this blog, and I hope you'll stick around <3

Addendum: There is a gap in the numbers between Dragon #52/53 (Toothless vs The Alpha) and Dragon #59 (Sea Shockers). I took a short break from posting dragon art due to some irl events, so the numbers between 53 and 59 are missing to reflect that :)

Addendum 2: It's possible I won't be posting any dragon art on fridays to give myself a break and prevent myself from burning out. I make up for this by posting 2 dragons on the following saturday <3 There are exceptions sometimes, but it's normal for me to skip fridays.

HTTYD Batfam Part 1

So slowly rotating their dragon partners, with the first ones being Bruce's (Batman's) five dragons.

Night Fury “Zorro” [Male] His main partner in battle, with supplies and armor stained black to meld with his scales. The saddle is designed for both standing and laying down, along with carrying multiple people should Bruce need to carry his kids or friends to safety.

Titanwing Night Terror “Myotis” [Female] This tiny dragon was like an oversized comfort plush when he was a child, and he carried her everywhere, especially after his parents’ death. This has changed to her perching on his shoulder, usually with some of the newer members of the flock to introduce them to him. They’ve crashed things many times to rescue their two-leg friend.

Stormcutter “Ghost” [Male] A pale white drake with hints of fleshy pink and pitch black eyes, presumably leucistic in nature. He lacks the armor of the rest of the flock, but has a pair of saddlebags on the back of the shoulders along with a band on the neck for a rider to hold onto during flight.

Stinger “Shard” [Male] Due to being mostly flightless, he is usually used for carrying supplies, including extra blankets and snacks. There’s light armor over his chest and head, mostly to assist in padding when charging or breaking through things.

Smothering Smokebreath “Freetail” [Female] The leader of the family’s flock of smokebreaths, who usually help act as cover, especially at night. She has a couple of scars, the most noticeable one over her eye, but most are covered by bits of armor. She also has a small bag on her back to put metal snacks or emergency messages in.

Dragon HC ft. the brothers

A/N: Here's what dragons I assigned the obey me! demon brothers. I am literally in love with both obey me and how to train your dragon so I am combining it! This was really therapeutic to write

Lucifer: Deathgripper (3)

Dragons who basically radiate with Cerberus’s name

They only have 1 head so he gets three :)

Being one of the few dragons whose diet consists of other dragons, they help keep his brothers and their dragons in check

Also it’s just really cool imagining Luci with three of these acid spitting bad boys under his command

Mammon: Smothering Smokebreath (a flock)

What better dragon for the king of thieves than dragons that steal shiny metal things?

I’d imagine he just got adopted by a flock because he was carrying some grimm and he (unwillingly) offered it all to them

He just sticks around the nest and sometimes they give him small trinkets as an offering.

Whenever Lucifer has him cornered they help him escape using the smoke! Very handy!

Leviathan: Submaripper

Why? Bc Lotan

Honestly that’s kinda it…but also. Submarippers can be pretty territorial and get super defensive if you get too close. That really fits Levi ngl.

I can see him cooing to the dragon while scrubbing the algae off its body and scraping off any barnacles.

They are both slimy little fishies and they are best friends!! I will take no criticism for this!

Satan: Night Fury

Cat-like? Intelligent? Terrifying? Yea, definitely Satan

Satan would read to it every night, since furies are curious by nature it would enjoy the time they spend together

With a dragon that basically camouflages at night, he has oh so many ideas on pranking Lucifer

Also he just really enjoys giving it scratches and spending time cuddling upside down on a tree.

Asmodeus: Death Song

The obvious choice of course

Pretty? Deadly? That just screams Asmo. He definitely spoils it to bits, has plenty of cute nicknames

He spends a lot of time just flying with it, doing cool moves and such, pretending they have an audience.

The most narcissistic duo. Would do anything for each other but nothing for anyone else.

Beelzebub: Gronckle

HOW COULD I NOT!! Large, cuddly, big eater?? Checks all the boxes!

Imagine the gronckle body slamming Beel cuz it's happy to see him and accidentally crushes him and is sad but a second later Beel lifts it up like “Happy to see you too :D”

“Beel stop bringing your dragon inside you’re gonna break something.” “But they were lonely :(“

They sleep together of course <3

Belphegor: Buffalord

Cow…buffalo…me things it works pretty well

It’s less of his dragon and more like a dragon he’s friends with that he visits once a week.

He love it when he’s lying on its back and it inflates and deflates it’s like a living marshmallow

The dragon doesn’t mind him either, they just kinda mutually exist next to each other.
