April 2, 2024 - Yellow-bellied Seedeater (Sporophila nigricollis) Found from Costa Rica south to Brazil and northeastern Argentina, but not in much of the Amazon basin, these seedeaters live in grassy habitats. Usually foraging in small flocks or pairs, they eat mostly grass seeds. They weave cup-shaped nests from grass, fibers, twigs, and spiderwebs near the ground in bushes or trees. Females lay clutches of two or sometimes three eggs.

Pastatober Day 3-4: The wandering creatures; The Seedeater and Smile Dog.

They're silent, mostly solitary creatures that go around the forest on their own thing, either hunting or chilling.

The Dog its a lot more of a mystery tho, with oddly human mannerisms, like talking, ocassionally, eating at the table, taking bubble baths then leaving as fast as it arrived.

The SeedEater its more of a creature, acts like a giant cat of sorts and has a close friendship with Jack, sometimes bringing her objects and gifts and visiting the mansion

Ben likes both a lot, but interact with the Dog more, he doesnt seem to be scared of it and likes to braid it's hair. Dog just lets him. Seedeater gives him piggy backrides but it's too tall so he gets scared sob

Smiledog's name in this au its Red Smiling Dog, or just Dog. Seedeater its mostly referred to as "the creature" or "black bush" or just "cake" (by Jack and Ben)

December 8, 2023 - White-naped Seedeater (Sporophila fringilloides) Found in southeastern Colombia, southern Venezuela, northwestern Brazil, and southern Guyana, these birds in the tanager family live in scrubby woodlands and savannas. Usually foraging alone or in pairs in dense vegetation, they feed on seeds, insects, and possibly some fruits, though the details of their diet are not known. Very little is known about their nesting habits, but they probably breed between August and April in Guyana.
