i like to think that the tentacles in dungeon meshi are kinda like mushrooms or perhaps even lichens in that they are very confusing to identifty and have 200 completely different species that look very similar ("delicious brown tentacle vs BROWN DEATH TENDRIL") and you need to be an Expert to determine the difference between some of the more confusing species and some of them have like 300 different sexes and some of them are actually composite creatures composed of several different species and somehow yeast is involved and also no one really knows half of whats going on with them and in like 50 years someones gonna figure out that uhm actually these are two completely different types of tentacle creatures that arent related like at All they jusf happen to look similar and oh btw that one common house mold is actually a tentacle

i was looking up the comic pages of the titans tower attack where jason rips off his shirt to reveal the robin costime underneath, and i didnt manage to read it in full but something i found interesting is that tim says, "you're the red hood. you've been cleaning up gotham the easy way."

i dont have the full context for it, but i love that at least standing alone, there's an implication there that tim thinks killing criminals is effective, and he just doesnt find it challenging enough haha. like, there's a lot of other moral judgements you can make about jason's choice to murder, but instead of any of that, tim just decides to point out it's the easy way. 😂

(okay maybe tim said it in an effort to goad by saying jason's taking the easy way out, but i think it's funnier if tim said it 'cuz he doesnt actually disagree with killing and just doesnt do it cuz he follows the bat lol.)

i do think it's kind of funny that ao3 seems to have made a blanket change to all the "mythology" tags to make them "religion and lore" (not a good change) EXCEPT the "arthurian mythology" tag, which remains intact despite a Number of people trying to get that one reworked or at least different wrangled for ages. they're like "we're taking mythology away from all the contexts where it might be applicable. and leaving it in the context where it's dubious. this is a sensible change"

The transition between “take her down a notch” to “find her. Kill her. Don’t let her get away with this.” was a fun one

#i didn’t even take notice of that until i read Tracey’s tv tropes page and they pointed it out #that she switches her approach from the beginning of the Henbane arc to the end #which makes everything about her progression through that whole ordeal so much uglier to witness #she goes from leniency towards Faith #to being violently punished by Faith #to triggering Faith’s death in response to that punishment #to going right back to blaming herself for Faith’s actions after she’s gone #with the overall takeaway from that (before New Dawn enters the ring) being just #well. just this really sad uncomfortable picture of someone whose whole role in the narrative is defined by unwarranted pain?#she’s never fully allowed to get better huh? even after all that?#far cry 5 #faith seed #tracey lader
