I'm so pissed im literally shaking
My mom and I couldn't find the vanilla extract and while checking the cabinets my step dad walks in and starts getting weird that my mom doesn't remember where it is when she is the one who put it away. He stands there just watching us before striding close to me very quickly
SD: You're looking in the wrong place (he said it very rudely as if we are fucking stupid for not knowing)
Then he opens a fucking cabinet above the microwave and there it is
He knew where it was and just watched us!?
Me: Well I don't live here. So how would I know that?
SD: I'm talking about your mother and how forgetful she is, when she put it away
Me: Well, everyone forgets, I do, my partner does.
Mom: SD is like a steel trap.
Me: I'm sure he forgets stuff too
So Im turning around and remember he forgot to put a power tool (A RECIPROCATING SAW WITH THE BLADE IN IT) away just this morning. (Found our kid sitting right next to it btw. AND I didn't even get super upset about it, I was very calm and was like "So this should be put away" he made sure to tell me like "oops, I forgot")
Me: You forgot that power tool just this morning. Remember? (I wasn't even mean more like "ohhhh yeah, that happend, great example to use.")
He gets super quiet and really still and just stares at me, like drilling his eyes into my soul and says
SD: You don't want to start this game with me do you?
HUUUHHHH WTF!??? WHAT GAME!?? I WAS STATING A FACT NOT TRYING TO START A FIGHT. MY TONE WASN'T EVEN ACCUSING
My mom just asked if we could stop this and I'm like still confused as fuck because START WHAT? what game WOULD WE BE PLAYING!? Everyone forgets except you? And I'm fighting by reminding him we're all hUMAn!???
And just yOU GOING TO WALK IN HERE, MAKE FUN OF MY MOM, BERATE HER AND ME, WATCH US LOOK FOR SOMETHING YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF, AND THEN GET PISSED BECAUSE YOU THINK I'M MAKING FUN OF YOU!?
FUCK OFF

fav part of gideon the ninth is for the first pre-canaan house chunk of the book, she's all "ugh I'm so normal surrounded by all these weirdo goth freaks when I blow this popsicle stand everyone will see how cool and normal and charming I am" and then she gets to canaan house and realizes that while she might have been a normie jock in the ninth house she is not exempt from being a goth weirdo who hides important doors behind tapestries and sneaks around in the dark so she doesn't have to talk to people. like we talk about her being a jock forced to be goth but nature v nurture babey she's not shedding that bone freak skin anytime soon

cass cain is so emotive and I hate that so many of yall fall straight into the stoic asian woman stereotype thing because like, the only reason cass wouldn't vocalize a feeling is when she would struggle to find the word for it because she literally wasn't taught how to speak. that's so fucking upsetting. She has such big beautiful emotions, she feels so deeply about the littlest things but everytime she has trouble putting it into words she's reminded that she was conceived not to. her abuser did not have her feelings or her pain in mind, only how well she could end a life. can you fucking imagine

keep thinking now about the idea of the ancient greek stage building as a doorway into death, which is separated from the stage (the space of the living) by the screen of the skene. cassandra calls it as much ("the gates of hades") when she enters the house of atreus. by convention characters cannot die on stage but must exit, usually into the skene, to be killed. cassandra's just extra explicit about it because of her foresight, but every entry into the stage building is a step into death. and then some people come back out of it!!!

I just think that they’ve probably practiced kissing in the Nova AU
(description and no paint under the cut)
[ID 1: page one of a two page comic. Panel one is a narrow frame of the Reverend Daughter Gideon’s mouth and shoulders. She is wearing skull paint and black robes with bone jewelry, including a labret piercing. She says, “that reminds me!” Panel two is Gideon pointing towards the viewer, her black robes billowing. She shouts, “I officially BAN you from hanging out with that slimy bean pole!” Panel three is a distant shot of Harrow’s head and shoulders. Gideon’s finger can be seen pointing at her from the bottom. Harrow looks slightly annoyed and says, “I’ll add it to the list.” Gideon shouts, “I’m serious!” Panel four is the only one with a background, and it is of an indistinct hallway that is lined with columns and is dimly lit from the far end by a wall sconce. Gideon and Harrow face each other. Gideon raises a hand imploringly and says, “Ianthe Tridentarius is dangerous. Harrow has a hand on her hip and says, “I tire of your preoccupation with her. She doesn’t even have any keys.”
ID 2: page two of a two page comic. Panel one is a bust shot of Gideon, from Harrow’s point of view. Gideon says, “And yet, she has knowledge of the theorems used in the labs! You don’t think that’s weird?” Panel two is a bust shot of Harrow, from Gideon’s point of view. Harrow says, “Everything here is weird! Especially your decision to make her the focus of your jealousy!” Panel three is distant shot of Gideon from the waist up. She looks off to the side and fidgets with her hands. Gideon says, “If you looked in the dictionary, you’d find that it’s envious. And I’m hardly envious of--” Harrow cuts her off by saying, “It’s one hundred percent jealous!” Panel four is of Gideon and Harrow facing each other. Harrow has come close to Gideon and touched her thumb to the labret piercing, her fingers curling under Gideon’s chin. She is smirking. Harrow’s other hand remains near her hip, holding the chain of Samael where it is looped off of her belt. Gideon is surprised and her head inclines slightly towards Harrow. Her visible arm is somewhat raised, as though unsure what to do.]
[ID 3: Panel four of the second page. Gideon and Harrow without face paint.]

Going into Alecto, I think it's important to expect that the series won't conclude with a clear lesson. Either about morality—what makes a good person, evil getting their just desserts, ect—or a thesis on decolonization. It's not that kind of story.
Deep down, this series is two drunk girls bearing their souls in a dark corner of the bar. An hours-long conversation that wheels wildly through pop culture, past trauma, theoretical physics, dreams and aspirations, global warming, hairstyling, friends, family, gender, personal insecurities, world history, favorite foods. It has a lot to say, and a lot of it profound, but it's not trying to teach anything. At the end of the night, the point was how fucking cool that girl was, and the potent electric potential for something lgbt to happen

Hi, I think epilogue Warriors is the hottest (genderfluid) woman ever and so I'm sharing her with everyone. Also Legend is cool too. They could be in hair commercials together.
They're coming back from the castle and Wars is patiently listening to Legend bitch about whoever annoyed him while they were there. He just needs to get it out of his system 😂
Legend (he/him) and Warriors (he/she/they) belong to ASAU, please don't tag any other AUs ✨🏳⚧✨
Bonus bc Wars is hot when she's mad:
POV you're one of the queen's generals and you misgendered her top military advisor 🫢

So. Fatebreaker, right? Ryne's biggest fears made manifest, daddy issues personified, yes?
He's an amalgamation of Thancred and Ran'jit, his face, his voice and his weapon is Thancred's, but his body, his fighting style and his words are Ran'jit's.
Throughout the fight Fatebreaker constantly makes comments about how only he can protect Ryne, only he can provide for her, only he has even the right to so much as stand beside her, to be in her general presence. He's possessive and obsessive, repeatedly asserting that she is HIS and his only. Which is exactly what Ran'jit says basically every time we encounter him.
But this time it's in Thancred's voice. This time it's with the voice and face of a man she actually cares about.
Ryne isn't scared of Thancred, she never has been. Even when she first met him she was barely even nervous (as clearly shown in Thancred's short story). There's a lot of different feelings happening between those two, but fear has never been one of them.
But now, after things have gotten so much better, she is scared of Thancred becoming like Ran'jit. Because if Thancred was just a little further gone, if he was just a little less compassionate, he would've. It wouldn't be hard for him to go down the same path as Ran'jit did, to be incapable of letting go of the ghost of that girl he loved so so much to the point he'd stubbornly grip anything close to her he could. He didn't, but the fact he could've is terrifying.
It makes his final words, words that are Thancred's, so very important. This is her deepest fears made manifest, but he still says he wants her to be happy. Her happiness not only matters, but is important to him.
