#i marie kondoed my thoughts and *i* feel great. but now my stream-of-consciousness has escaped containment #so many innocent bystanders at stake #every time i try to organize my thoughts i run out of plastic bins and have to make a trip to the container store where i get even more dis #racted so. you can't just hand me THIS brain and NO catalogue OR library classification system #and expect me to single-handedly sort through all this nonsense? bad form but fucking form not in my job description #aNYways. formal education sure did a FUCKING NUMBER on us huh #(a number i measure not in gpa or dollars of student debt.#but in the number of therapy sessions & medical debt it will take to recover.)#seriously folks. our education systems are...innately traumatizing for a huge number of students. and we NEED to address this.#the fact that it is culturally common for adults to have anxiety nightmares about school/exams...even decades later?#that is not cute. it is Alarming.#no one--much less entire generations--should be spending their developmental years in an environment of chronic stress & pressure & strain #and yet that is the reality for millions and millions of pre-teen and teenage and young adult students #this isn't healthy and it serves and empowers NO ONE #...except of course the many exploitative educational & financial & debt-collecting institutions thriving from the current balance of power #and of course it's a nefarious and powerful way to sabotage/erase the middle class #which billionaires and the wealth-inequality creators they finance couldn't possibly have any noteworthy interest in whatsoever #it's not like there's an elite group of people with huge financial incentives to drain/steal resources from the masses...#anyways sorry for going all Conspiracy Theory on you.#obviously the billionaires who control the vast majority of our resources and news and political campaign funding #are not tied to every single itty bitty social issue and i'm a silly billy to imply it #please tell elon musk to ignore this tweet i am so subservient and acquiescent #mr musky u r so good at inheriting slavery-built mining fortunes & buying other people's companies #& building rocket ships & fancy cars that do NOT explode/catch fire & also NOT running billion dollar companies into the ground #mr musky u r so talented genius billionaire playboy with 10 kids and ex-wives who find you creepy af babe u r basically iron man

As dads, both Steve and Eddie are total suckers. They're pretty much guaranteed to give in to any and all whims their daughters may have. They will also, however, make them work for it, which is usually facilitated by Steve (and serves as prime entertainment for Eddie, who has adored watching Steve try to hold his own against smart-ass teenagers since they were teenagers themselves)

This is why Eddie is absolutely delighted when he walks into the kitchen to see that Steve is on the phone with their middle-daughter Robbie.

“Robbie,” Steve says, cutting himself off with a long sigh, “Just tell me why I’m sending you seventy-five dollars.”

With a grin, Eddie settles in at the counter. Steve rolls his eyes, pointing at the phone as if to say get a load of this.

Then his eyebrows fly up.

“You need seventy-five dollars to go get your nails done? What, are they gonna take your midterms for you too?”

She isn't on speaker so Eddie doesn't catch Robbie's exact response to this, but whatever she says is loud enough that he can hear her voice coming through the phone.

"Amelia Robin," Steve cuts her off, "I will think about it. It's time for you to start thinking about getting a job"

Robbie must make one last desperate attempt because Steve says, "Goodbye, my darling girl who only calls when she wants something."

Steve hangs up and immediately points at Eddie as if this has something to do with him.

"Sinclair's boys don't put him through shit like this," he says, "I asked. All they ever want from him is food and Xbox subscriptions."

"Must be nice."

"Remember when the only time she asked for money was for the Scholastic book fair?” Steve asks, “Damn, I miss those days.”

"You're still gonna send her the money, though."

With a resigned sigh, Steve says, "Yeah."

Dead Silence Loop! Im not 100% satisfied with the desing but i cant exactly tell what bother me about it kihoihoeijoeijsp

Price Of Silence has such a cool E.G.O and i feel like i didnt really do it justice…

now I kinda regret not writing my reasoning for this one while it was still fresh and clear in my head but im going to do my best to explain it..

At first i wanted to give this E.G.O to Siffrin again, the theme of wanting to stop the flow of time wich is leading to a unevitable demise and paying the heavy price for doing that fit them very well. Even the name of the abnormality "Price of silence" fit so well! since his refusal to talk to his family is what kept the timeloop going

But thinking about its association with death (reference to Major Arcana Card XIII/The grim reaper like aparence of the original EGO and the whole inevitable demise stuff) I tought it fitted Loop little bit more? With their wish leading to their death (symbolically) as siffrin as well as the death of their timeline and it also fit the "heavy price" part of the theme a little bit better (also I dont draw Loop as often as Siffrin and I really wanted to draw them for once!!!) (...even if its a little hard to tell its them with this desing)

i might have overexplained a bit but at least i hope my ramble was fun to read :D

I was feeling like a bit of slightly-angsty isolation this thursday, so...

AU where, instead of a double transmigration happening, RokSoo transmigrated to ogCale's body, but ogCale was put into a newly made double of his body and confined into a dimension pocket.

And just, no one knows about it and he can't get out until certain conditions are reached. For example: that someone finally gets rid of WS.

Luckily for him, RokSoo and company are rather fast to kill the white star. It only took them two years, way better than in his previous timeline.

Although, those are still two years in which og!Cale, the 40-year-old war soldier turned an 18-year-old time-traveler, had to spend trapped in that place. Completely alone except for the occasional god checking on him, and a few animals a god had the kindness to let for him. (It was Loki, but no one is going to call him out).

Og!Cale is a person who loves easily and deeply but, contrary to his true nature, someone who lived through decades without deep boundaries to gave him feedback. Whether it was during the war that took everyone he knew from him, or before that, with the family he choose to stay at distance and love them from the side-lines. He lived so long without feeling genuine care, making any emotional bond that isn't one-sided, that he's hungry for them.

Being in the past, where everyone he loves hadn't died yet, where they will live, and being so close— just a dimensional door away, really— but not being able to see them, hear them, nor even talk to them... It hurts.

He's happy and so, so glad. They're alive. They can laugh and eat and breath again— and, someday, he will see them again. Even if they don't know how to act with him and is uncomfortable. Even if, most probably, they don't know he's not there and don't miss him, he will see them again.

So, yeah, he's fine with this situation. He accepted this.

That doesn't mean that the waiting doesn't suck. He, a freedom loving person, trapped in the godly version of a safehouse. Most of the days it's only he, his thoughts and the ridiculous massive library Athena managed to fit in here. And his friends, the animals, of course.

Inside of that lonely place, of course, Cale gets attached to the animals that are by his side everyday. He was already an animal lover, to begin with. The little guys who just go through their lives being absolutely adorable and are more loyal than most people around... How can he not love them?

Besides, Athanasia, the griffin, gives the best cuddles he has ever had.

He gets used, eventually. It's not like he never had lived in a big house where the only beings around wouldn't speak more than three words to him. (Well, at least the animals try to talk with him. He just needed to learn what they mean.)

And Cale can do whatever he wants here. If he wants to play the violin or paint, do acrobatics or keep his training, he can just do it. There's no need to hide. No need to restrain himself.

There's no one here to get sad at her memories. No one to spread rumors about 'skills' or 'talents'. No one to turn his interests into weapons against his own family by comparing Bassen to him.

Eventually, it feels like a different kind of freedom here.

—And then he gets out.

#so he has to stay there until the things with ws finish #he's so bored and trying not to have bad thoughts #so he keeps himself bussy with anything he can think of #the library? he read it thrice already #he plays with every single of the animals there #he teaches the parrot to sing and give sassy remarks #he plays catch the ball with the griffin #and fake fights with the fenrir #he also talks with them all the time as if he could understand them and the gods don't know if he's joking or not #except loki. he knows the truth #he tried every single hobby that he could think of at least once #kept some of them but he's never doing pottery ever again #too much mud under his fingers. his brain and og!cale himself didn't like it #krs!cale is gonna be jealous that someone else got the chance to live his slacker life #while he was running around dealing with terrorists #but og!cale had had enough isolation for a life time (hah)#the god of death is going to be in some deep shit once they find out #og!cale probably would try to explain that #no. it was not kidnapping. i accepted this #“i mean. being trapped in a dimensional pocket where you can lose track of the time easily is not that fun #but it wasn't that bad either. the thought of cracking the spine of a book makes kevin nauseous. he like opens it just enough to see the words and holds the book at such uncomfortable angles to read— anything to keep the book pristine and intact. he does not let people borrow his books because he is a control freak (as a term of endearment) and does not trust them to take care of them the way he does.

and andrew is the complete opposite, cracking the spine as soon as he opens it. he annotates in pen. he dog ears the pages because who the fuck has time to find a bookmark. he throws books out of anger. he throws them at aaron for fun. he lets them get smashed and torn in his bag. he always keeps them, he just prefers them to look like they’ve been read.

why cant they just make the 99 toyota corolla forever that car should be made in perpetuity because it simply cannot be killed and that would likely be better for the environment than filling every car with lithium

#i dont think we'll ever truly escape the need for ICE cars so they should be made as reliably as possible #im not pro car expansion obvs #i think they will be invaluable in the (re)transition to mass rail transit #because that will take a long fucking time #and it would be good for folk in more remote areas to have a reliable and efficient form of transport even post re-railification #plus they would be good cars for a library economy for when certain trips that require moving an awkward amount of stuff long distance #and also ICE cars dont have to run on petrol either #they can be tuned to run nearly identically on basically any liquid that burns #so you could tune it to run on ethanol for example #or biodiesel #or fuckin anything there are likely even more efficient alternatives out there that dont pollute anything too #we just need to research it lol

I can interlibrary loan a lot of things, but I cannot get you books from the future.

My apologies to the gentleman at the Hawaii campus who wants a book with the publication year of 2025.

#random personal stuff #we put in that requisition for the time travel equipment but the business office is taking forever to get back to us on it as usual #and in the meantime I don't run or fly fast enough to time-travel without assistance #they should have hired someone for my job with those built-in abilities #but they were kind of desperate at the time and took what they get which was me (despite the deficient skills)#maybe the equipment will be in the budget this next fiscal year #definitely something to discuss with the new library director whenever we get one
