Story of one dog who met "russian world"

How much darkness in russians souls?

The russian military beat and booby-trapped a dog. Fox the Dog was found near the town of Makariv. He was lying in a pit with garbage. People wanted to get him out, but they managed to notice that the dog was booby-trapped

He was saved from death by the fact he couldn't walk. It's not clear how long he was lying there. The bomb squad demined it and handed it over to the Ukrainian patrols.

A painting of my Mum's dog, Rio the tripaw greyhound.

She was a failed racer who we adopted alongside another greyhound, Pippa (who sadly passed away this year). Rio lost her leg after she got a bit silly and launched herself off the settee, a very common story for greyhounds. She is a very sweet and smily girl.

Both Rio and Pippa were my introduction to the world of greyhound welfare and helped me in creating the animation, "Love the Dogs," which garnered over 10 million views on YouTube.

Remembering the year my dog entered the Halloween Costume Contest at her daycare in her homemade (by me!) Spooky Spider costume:

All the other pics were like, Golden Retriever dressed as a Mailman, Beagle dressed as Batman, Pitbull dressed as a Flower, and then... my little creepshow lol

Unfortunately she did not win the contest, but this picture has given me many droplets of serotonin over the years since then 🖤

It's been 9 months since we rescued our little baby boy, Archie, from the streets. And I want to show you how he has progressed since then and tell his story.

This is how we found him. A state of fatigue, malnourished, and covered in sticker burrs from head to toe. We heard something 'crying' outside our front door around midnight and decided to investigate. Soon finding this little guy. He was very close to death and it broke my heart. We had to do something for him in that moment.

We brought him inside from the rain and took 3 hours picking the stickers off of him in the sink. He was practically falling asleep with each pluck. We woke up our neighbors and asked if we could have some dog food for him and he gobbled it all up.

Once we got him as clean as possible, it was time for the little one to get some much needed rest. We decided to sleep downstairs with him so he would be comfortable.

The next morning, we dropped him off at an Animal Shelter to get better medical care and for him to find his owner, but he had no collar and was not chipped. For 3 days, my s/o and I thought about the little guy. The bond we shared with him during that short moment.

While I was at work, I get a call from my s/o saying that we will be adopting the little guy the next day. I was so excited and nervous, for I never took care of another creature before. We stocked up on food, toys, shampoo, bowls, blankets... the whole shabang.

We finally brought little Archie home. Being told that he is in his geriatric stage of life with arthritis, a heart murmur, a lump on his buttocks, partially deaf, cataracts in his eyes, and decaying teeth. We were... stressed, to say the least. But we did what we could for him to make him comfortable.

He was neutered, had his teeth fixed, and gave him a nice, warm bath. Again, I was nervous as to how to properly take care of an older dog who was abandoned. We quickly found out that he has abandonment issues and will cry if I'm not around. But, he's such a smart pooch... And he started learning!

Few months go by and he is my pride and joy. He is super healthy. His energy is 100% back in full force. He's such a happy dog loved by my family and friends. He loves whipped cream as a small treat and loves car rides! He lays by my side while I'm playing games in my office and he loves to cuddle in bed.

I can't think of a better start in my journey of rescuing animals and I would've done this over and over again.

Moral of this story is... Rescue an animal. You have no idea the impact that you will make on another animals life by giving them a second chance and the impact that they will have on your life.
