Pepperony Exchange Fic
Title: The Force Will Be With you, Always
Author: microgirl
Recipient: @catsarecutebutaliens
Rating: G
Summary: Aunt May invites Tony and Pepper to spend New Year’s Eve with she, Peter, and Ned.
Author’s Note: This is my exchange fic for @catsarecutebutaliens.  I am so, so sorry you had to wait until the very last day for your fic.  I started your story, but got half way through before I hated everything I’d written.  My friend gave me a much better prompt and this fic poured out. I hope you enjoy it
“Okay boys!” May announced, walking into the living room.  “It’s time for our New Year’s Eve checklist: Popcorn?”
“Check!” Ned said, holding up the microwave bags.
 “Candy?”
“Junior Mints for you,” Peter pointed to the boxes on the coffee table.  “M&M’s for Ned. Reeses Pieces for me.”
“And the Chinese food should be here in a few minutes,” May clapped her hands together.  “I know I don’t have to ask about the movies.”
Ned smirked, tapping the blu-ray cases.  “Right here.”
“Then we are all set!” The sound of knocking interrupted May. “That should be the food, Peter. Can you get that?”
Hopping up from the couch, Peter went to the door.  He opened it, surprised to not find the typical, nondescript delivery person, but to see Tony Stark and Pepper Potts on the other side.
 “Hey, kid,” Tony grinned.
“Tony!” Peter blinked in shock.  Even after all of these months it was still weird to call him by his first name.  “What are you doing here?”
“Moon lighting as a delivery man,” Tony replied, carrying a big box full of Chinese food.  “I decided research and development for Stark Industries wasn’t enough.”
Pepper rolled her eyes. “Just ignore him, that’s what I do.”
“Peter, stop gawking and let them in.”  May held out her arms to Pepper for a hug.  “How are you, dear?”
“I’m doing wonderful. Thank you so much for inviting us.”
Inviting us? Peter wondered.  Wait, was that why they were here?  Since when were the Starks spending New Year’s Eve with them?  May hadn’t said anything about that.
Tony followed May to the dining room where he placed the box on the table.  “Thank you so much for picking up the food.  How much do we owe you?” she asked.
Shaking his head, Tony waved his hand.  “Nothing. We practically bought out the restaurant to cover all of the cravings of my very lovely pregnant wife.”
And he wasn’t kidding. Peering inside the box, Peter found enough take-out boxes to feed three times as many people as there were in the apartment.
“Plus I wanted you guys to be able to get some crab cheese wontons without losing a limb,” Tony said simply as he took off his sunglasses.
Ned and Peter snickered until Pepper narrowed her eyes at her husband.  “What have I said about making fun of my cravings?”
“‘Shut up before I rip your arm off?’”
When Pepper nodded, Tony then quietly said to the boys, “See? Loss of limbs.”
May led Pepper to the living room, taking her coat and purse.  “How are you feeling?”
“Good,” Pepper grinned, sitting on the couch.  She settled her hands over her cute little baby bump.  “Morgan is an active little guy.”
May smiled.  “We’ll eat here in the living room.  Peter and Ned, can you bring the food, and I’ll get the drinks.”
Peter stepped in the kitchen while May was filling glasses with root beer.  “What are they doing here?” he whispered, a touch of anxiety in his question.
“I invited them,” May answered simply.
 “I know, but why?”
Before she could answer, Tony called from the living room, “So what are we watching?”
“Star Wars!” Ned said happily.  “We watch A New Hope and time the movie so the Death Star blows up at the stroke of midnight.”
Much to Peter’s frustration, May left the kitchen to serve drinks before she answered Peter’s question. “The boys have added Rogue One to tonight’s viewing lineup.”
He couldn’t fathom why she invited the Starks to their little New Year’s Eve celebration. First, Peter figured Pepper and Tony would have been at a swanky and hip Manhattan party.  But, he knew May never cared for Tony; she voiced her dislike about Tony when Peter talked about his “internship.”
Then she found out Peter was Spider-Man and Tony was responsible for building not one, but two suits.  Peter stayed with Tony through the final battle with Thanos, post being released from the Soul Stone; the move nearly got Peter killed permanently.  And now Tony was his mentor as Peter finished his senior year of high school.  Peter spent a lot of late nights at Tony’s workshop, meaning he didn’t see May nearly as much.
With all of this, he couldn’t imagine why May wanted Tony in her home.  Swallowing hard, Peter wondered if this would be the night May would tell Tony to stay away from her nephew.
Forty-five minutes later, Peter still couldn’t get over the fact he was sitting on the floor in his living room on New Year’s Eve with Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, eating Chinese food and watching Rogue One.
“So how long have you guys been doing this?” Pepper asked.
Peter thought for a moment. “Uh, ever since I lived with Uncle Ben and Aunt May.  Uncle Ben was a big Star Wars fan.”  May smiled at him, and he didn’t miss the sheen in her eyes.
It had been their New Year’s Eve tradition to watch the Original Trilogy.  When Peter was ten, he and Uncle Ben had figured out when to start A New Hope to where the Death Star blew up right at midnight.  That year, the three of them cheered like they were Rebels at that climatic moment.
But the first New Year’s Eve after Uncle Ben died, Peter was invited to a party at Abe’s house.  The idea of leaving May alone that night…just made Peter feel sick inside.  So he’d told Ned he was staying with May, and Ned joined them as well.  The tradition stayed alive with the three of them.
“We used to always watch the movies in order,” Peter went on.  “But then we discovered it was more fun to watch A New Hope closer to midnight.”
“The boys will continue to watch the rest of the Original Trilogy after midnight, but don’t feel obligated to stay for that,” May said.
“But so we’re not waiting until 10:02, we start with Rogue One now,” Ned happily explained.  “We keep everything in order.”
When the Rebels had successfully gotten the Death Star plans to Princess Leia, the little group had enough time before the next movie started to stretch, use the bathroom, and refresh drinks and food
At exactly 10:02:43, Peter began A New Hope.  When the Rebels were setting up for the invasion of the stormtroopers, Tony offhandedly commented, “You know, I remember when Dad got a phone call from George Lucas.”
“WHAT?!?!” Peter and Ned exclaimed at the same time.
Swallowing a sip of root beer, Tony nodded.  “Yeah, George Lucas spoke to Dad about some of the weapons design for the movie.”
“Are you serious?” Ned asked, his eyes wide and unflinching.
“George Lucas. Your dad knew George Lucas.”  Peter could not believe his ears.  How the hell did he not know this??
“George even gave Dad tickets to the movie premiere.”
 “WHAT?!?!?”
Pepper laughed. “Baby, you can’t casually drop bombs like that to two Star Wars fans.”
“I remember when Dad got home from his meeting with George.  He thought the plot of the movie was the silliest thing he’d ever heard. After we got home from the movie, Dad said George was the real genius.”
“George,” Ned practically squealed.  “You call him George and actually know the man.  Do you still talk to him?”
Peter fired out, “Did Howard help with the design of the Death Star too?”
“Did you help with the design of the Death Star?”
 “Can you make a blaster?”
 “Can you make a lightsaber?”
Tony laughed.  “That was actually the one weapon Dad was curious about making.  I think he tried designing something for it.”
“Did he manage to make one?” Peter asked excitedly.
 Tony shook his head. “No.”
Peter deflated for a second before grinning at Ned.  “I bet Shuri could make one.”
“Shuri could totally make a lightsaber,” Ned agreed with a massive smile.
May shook her head. “No, no, no.  You are not asking Shuri to make you a lightsaber.”
 “What?” Peter protested. “Why not?”
“Because I like our apartment, and I don’t want you to destroy everything with a laser sword.”
Peter scoffed.  “It’s not like we’d be using it here.”
“Yeah, boys,” Tony agreed, swiping his smartphone screen.  “No lightsabers.”
“That goes for you too,” Pepper said.
“What?!”
She pointed to his phone.  “I know you are about to text Shuri and you do not need a lightsaber.”
 “Why not?”
Closing her eyes, Pepper shook her head.  “I don’t even have time to explain to you all of the reasons you shouldn’t have a functioning lightsaber.”  She scooted to the end of the couch cushion, and Tony jumped to his feet to help her up. “No lightsaber.”
After she left for the bathroom, Tony leaned down to Peter and Ned and spoke to where Aunt May couldn’t hear him.  “We’ll call Shuri later this week.”  Peter and Ned nodded eagerly, sharing their signature handshake.  When Pepper rejoined them, Tony winked at the boys.
The rest of the city was counting down to the New Year as Han Solo said, “You’re all clear, kid. Now let’s blow this thing and go home.”  But no one in the apartment joined in.
Peter and Ned stared at the TV screen with the same wide eyed wonder as they had every time they watched this movie.  The thrill of watching the Rebels win this major battle never got old.
And when the Death Star met its inventible end, everyone erupted into cheers.  Leaning down, May smacked a kiss on Peter’s cheek before she did the same to Ned.  Out of the corner of his eye, Peter caught Tony and Pepper in their own kiss. After, Tony bent his head to press his lips to Pepper’s baby bump.  Peter couldn’t help but smile at the sweet gesture.
After they toasted with sparkling apple cider, Tony and Pepper gave their goodbyes.
“Thank you so much for having us,” Pepper hugged Peter before kissing his cheek.  Peter’s face burned with embarrassment.
 “You’re welcome,” he squeaked.
Tony pulled Peter into a hug, giving him a friendly clap on the back.  “This was fun, kid.  You and Ned enjoy the rest of the trilogy.”
After they left, Ned went back to the living room to set up The Empire Strikes Back.  May told them she was turning in.  Before she could leave, Peter asked, “So why did you invite them?”
May’s eyes softened. “I know how much you look up to Tony. And I admit I haven’t been the most welcoming to him.  He’s an important part of your life and I wanted to get to know him better.”  She cupped his cheek.  “I know I can’t provide you with everything, but I am so happy you have a positive male figure in your life again.”
Blinking back his own tears, Peter’s chest flooded with joyous warmth.  He wrapped May up in a bone crushing hug.  For probably the millionth time, he was so, so grateful to have Aunt May.
 “I love you,” he croaked.
 “I love you too, baby.”

Reylo - Part II – Alternatives to Reylo
Presenting an alternative to Reylo.  Reylos, Be not scared to read.
Definition: Reylo (pronounced RAY-LOW) – the romantic pairing of Rey and Kylo Ren from the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy “ST”.
This is a follow up to my last Pro-Reylo related post.
This will not be a vicious attack on the fans who desperately want Reylo to happen. This is not an argument why Reylo should or should NOT happen.  This is more of an observation based on clues, and my experience watching TV, movies, and based on what seems most “Star Warsy.”  The Reylo angle is a somewhat dark relationship to this point. What if Star Wars takes a more positive and what I like to call “Hallmark Movie” route?
So here are a few clues as to why Reylo might NOT happen.
Clue #1: Finn + Rey?
In The Force Awakens – Finn was definitely crushing on Rey.  It certainly looked like Star Wars was setting up a somewhat unconventional yet modern day couple in Rey and Finn. And there is that scene where Finn lies to the Resistance and recruits Han Solo and Chewbacca to go to Starkiller base just to secretly rescue Rey from the First Order.  He WENT BACK FOR HER!  Awww… but then, it seemed like Finn got put in the friend zone by the end.   But I digress.  By the ending of The Last Jedi showed a pretty long hug between Rey and Finn.   They are adorable.  Finn is so worthy of love.   I believe he will find love in Episode IX.  It’s just a matter of with whom.  Does Rey love Finn? Or is she willing to let him go to be with Rose?
I don’t know if Finn would even let Rey be with Kylo Ren.  Now that sounds like I’m calling Finn controlling or saying that Rey would even allow her friend to tell her who she can or cannot be with.  But Rey respects Finn and he cares about her too much to let her fall for a bad boy/guy, a bad guy who killed his father in front of them and physically assaulted both Rey and Finn at the end of The Force Awakens.
Clue #2: Poe and Rey?
At the end of The Last Jedi, they included a scene that was initially in the novelization of the Force Awakens, which is Poe meeting Rey, despite the fact that they were standing 5 feet away from each other in the scene were R2-D2 helps BB-8 reveal the map to Luke Skywalker AND Rey and Poe were both worried over Finn’s medical condition. Continuity anyone????  But just to make it official, Rian Johnson jammed in the official handshake scene at the end of the Last Jedi, so that we will know that they now know each other, even though Poe already knows who Rey is, Duh!  He has seen her, he knows who she is, and he obviously thinks she is awesome. Remember when he shook her hand, she said “I’m Rey” and he smiled at her and was all like “I know” (a little Han Solo-y, right?)  And then she smiled back at him with a new found gleam in her eye.  I would not be shocked to see a Rey/Poe flirtation at least.   If there is a time jump before the next movie, we may even see that there is not only a flirtation but a well-developed relationship between them.   Where it goes from there, we will see!
Clue or Prediction #3: The Classic Love Triangle
Time to bring back the concept of a love triangle?   Maybe… I make a lot of references to Hallmark movies and in a lot of these movies, the girl is engaged to some rich, arrogant snob but falls in love with the nice, funny, cute guy by the end.   Kylo Ren’s failure to do the right thing (i.e. not making amends for his father’s murder, not forgiving or reconciling with his sad mom) could turn into a win for the good guy, in this case, Poe Dameron, war hero, emerging leader of the Resistance/Rebel Alliance.  Maybe in the end, the good guy gets the girl.
Clue #3: “I Don’t Have Time for Anything Else”
There was a timespan of only a few days between the beginning of The Force Awakens and end of The Last Jedi. Legitimately, there hasn’t been enough time for real romance to take place.   So as of now, nothing has really happened between any of the characters except the peck on the lips that Rose gave to Finn.
We’re expecting a time jump between Episode 8 and 9.   So let’s say a year has passed by the time Episode IX starts.  What if the events of Episode IX take place also over days?   Is there enough time for a romance to develop that hasn’t ALREADY been taking place?    What I’m saying is that if there is a romance, it will most likely be something that has been developing during the time period between The Last Jedi and Episode IX, similar to Han and Leia between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.
Anakin pined for Padme for years.   Han and Leia knew each other for months / years and spent time in close proximity in life and death situations.  Those romances were given the appropriate groundwork cinematically.  The sequel trilogy timeline has so far not been conducive to romance.  Yes, sometimes in real life, love can happen at first site, but often true, lasting romance is sewn over time.   Now, if Rey and Kylo have somehow been in contact all of this time or have been pining for each other, then this could lead to a Reylo thing.  But it can’t develop in the middle of a 2 hour movie.   If they are still fighting in this movie, how the heck would they end up falling in love?  Lust maybe.  But love? Not sure how JJ is going to make it work for a lot of fans. He has a tough task indeed.
Also, Rey has a lot to do – fix her lightsaber, defend and fight for the Resistance, and other Jedi stuff I suppose. Does she really have time in this movie to get sidetracked by romance?
Final Thoughts
There are strong feelings by many Star Wars fans on why Reylo should not happen.  Some people have commented that a Reylo relationship is toxic, abusive, yada yada yada.  Not trying to be dismissive of Anti-Reylos but these are all opinions. Shippers and non-shippers.   Everyone can have an interpretation and an opinion.  The movie will come out and we will see if people lose their minds over it.  But the truth is, we have seen many other similar relationships between Bad Guy and Good Girl that we, as an audience have routed for.   And that is because we secretly hoped that the bad boy/bad guy was actually a good guy who lost his way somewhere along the line and he can be good again thanks to love.   Let’s take Buffy and Spike, Vampire Diaries characters Elena and Damon Salvatore (more CW shows!), Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman, Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, and countless others in novels, movies and television, and even some in real life!
I sound like I’m being pro-Reylo, but I just want the Anti-Reylo readers to get a perspective that this concept is not new and to open the mind to the idea that we may get a redemption arc for Kylo Ren.  I, personally, can’t understand how they would let the only child of our heroes, Han Solo and Leia, be the sole bad guy in this trilogy, or even the most evil in the Star Wars saga.  Han cannot have died in vain.  I’m actually a little surprised they had Kylo Ren seem to turn a corner by killing Snoke only to see him viciously attack the Resistance base on Crait where he knew his mother would be.  But the last moment of Kylo Ren holding his father’s dice and looking at Rey in a sorrowful way, gives me something to look forward to in EPIX.
Regardless of how The Last Jedi ended, the Star Wars people can acknowledge they have a problem.   They have potentially set up a romance between a good girl and a very, very bad boy to put it mildly.   Kylo Ren may be truly be unredeemable after killing his father regardless of how much it has split his spirit to the bone.   The extra force Kylo used to drive that lightsaber into his father’s chest may have been a bridge too far from the get-go, which is why many people I speak to hate Kylo Ren.  Disney/Star Wars may have played their hand poorly, underestimating how intense the anger would be towards this act of patricide.   The Star Wars story writers may have no choice but to handle romance more delicately, taking cues from the #MeToo movement and other current societal guidelines of what is “acceptable” behavior between man and woman.  Or they may avoid romance altogether in lieu of a just a good story of light and dark, good and evil and focus on how the three trilogies tie together and the legacy of Anakin Skywalker and the Jedi.  Hell with romance!

Unlikely || Chapter 2
Pairings: General Hux x Reader Words: 2237 Warnings: Violence, choking, angst A/N: It took me so long to post a second chapter but I’ve been meaning to write this story for quite some time and I wanted to make sure it’s polished. Hope you’ll enjoy!
Series Summary: As you rise through the ranks of The First Order you find yourself drawn to a certain ginger general. But when your deepest secrets see the light of the day in the process will it be your new beginning or a bitter end?
CHAPTER 1 || CHAPTER 2
Tumblr media
The ride in the elevator was a silent one, the air tense with anticipation and subtle hints of anxiety that you could easily pick up in both yourself and Armitage.
As you were carefully building up your defences, the general once again tore his down in order to ask one more thing of you, his voice worn but still kind. "Whatever happens, my dear, I request you do not intertwine. I'm afraid it would only make the matters worse."
He turned his head to steal a brief glance at you and you offered him a weak but reassuring smile. "I will try my best, general."
He calculated the time he's got left before the door slides open and quickly took your hand, pulling it gently to his lips to place a soft kiss on your skin. His grip lingered and you were forced to pull away because the next floor went past already, delivering you dangerously close to the throne room level. A barely noticeable sign of longing and concern surfaced on his face before it was transformed back into his usual mask. You sighed, dropping your gaze to the floor stung by this all too familiar ache in your chest.
You could no longer see his face but you knew that his spread legs and hands folded on the back were his only means to hide a light shiver going down his spine with every passing level. It made you realise just how hard this conversation might turn out to be.
And you had a bad feeling about this.
The sound of the loud ding shot through the air, letting you know it was your stop. Armitage straightened up, preparing to keep his chin up and you took a long breath to rid yourself of the remaining doubts. Your secrets were kept under a heavy layer of fear that was only partially fabricated by you consciously, and another consisting of your admiration towards the ginger general.
It was hard to remember that when you first met him the boiling hatred aimed at him was almost too apparent to contain and after the handshake you shared you battled with the urge to wash your hands immediately.
The door slid open revealing a huge throne room you've heard so much about. You looked around in awe, seeing it properly for the very first time. Needless to say, it wasn't a particularly pleasant astonishment one might feel while looking at a work of art. This place was crushing your bones under its weight. The ominous red-lit space was almost empty, echoes of your steps bounced off the walls, creating a dream-like scenery. You felt tiny and insignificant but gravest of all - ambushed.
The throne itself was situated in the middle, placed on a small platform as if the surroundings weren't enough to make sure everyone knew who was in command. The chair was dark with subtle traces of silver and you could swear you saw old blood still staining its feet as if Rey had just sliced Snoke in half moments ago. His guards who had shared their master's fate were replaced by the Knights of Ren, clothed in dark robes and rare pieces of armour wielding weapons ranging from spears to blasters alike. You noted that not an inch of their skin was visible therefore making it harder to perceive them as humans, a blatant advantage in combat.
On the throne sat Kylo Ren, the mighty Supreme Leader, the self-appointed successor of Snoke's abhorrent legacy. But in fact, he looked anything but powerful on the chair. His arms were resting on his knees rather than the armrests and he was slightly bending forward as if the thought of his back touching the same place Snoke's had was unthinkable. His face was almost expressionless, his hair falling freely on his dark eyes. The scar left by Rey's lightsaber was in a strong contrast to his pale complexion. He was like a child sitting in father's seat trying to grow to be like his role model but something was bound to be awry.
Armitage stopped abruptly, keeping a distance between him and his superior. Everyone knew it wouldn't protect him if Ren decided to add a few new bruises to the collection but you allowed him to keep up appearances.
"I heard about the base, general," Ren begun, threat and displeasure clear in his voice. "Are you still going to try to convince me your pathetic troops are worth anything?"
"Supreme Leader, I assure you--"
"You," Ren pointed at you. You stiffed, feeling the heat sweeping over your body. Kylo's eyes were dark and impenetrable and you were sure you have just been discovered. "I want you to take notes of everything happening here today. I don't trust the droids."
He wanted to turn his head away from you but something else caught his attention. His gaze lingered and it took everything you had to withstand his mental attacks. Hux turned back to look at you, his expression filled with terror, and his fists clenched. He hated the very idea of Ren recognizing your presence as if the fact alone could put you in trouble.
Apparently, Ren failed at finding something interesting because his attention was once again focused on the general in front of him but still the twitch that was supposed to hide a smile didn't escape your attention. The green eyes were still fixed on you in a frantic attempt to search for any signs of discomfort or pain. You knew he wouldn't have been able to act upon his fantasy of overthrowing Kylo but witnessing you being tortured by his abilities could have still made him try.
"General, can I get your attention?" Kylo mocked.
Armitage's lips opened and you noticed a tremble dancing on their soft surface but soon enough he faced his leader without the shadow of fear.
"Supreme Leader," he began again. "The troops are in a flawless condition and I assure you that their next mission will prove to be a  victory."
Ren scoffed and you heard a grave tone in his voice. "I don't care about your poor excuses and declarations anymore, general."
"I do not wish to--"
But he was cut off mid-sentence. Soon his hands were desperately pulling at the invisible hand locking on his windpipe as if it intended to crush it. A sob tore from his throat and it hurt you more than you'd be pleased to admit. Hux was lifted off his feet which were now dangling in the air, searching for a spot to rest his weight on but with no success. You turned your head in distaste, adding another layer on the most precious thoughts buried deep within your mind. The room was quiet and the complete silence was interrupted only by Armitage's heartbreaking efforts to break free.
When yet another raspy sob tore out of Tidge's throat you closed your eyes only to regret it a second later. Without your vision, your mind replaced your surroundings with a mental image as if enhancing the strongest individuals in the room. You could sense Ren's energy and unrelenting passion, his guards' confidence and eagerness to fight if required, and you could even taste your own panic. And what's worst of all, Hux's spirit slipping through the fingers of the unseen hand.
You stole a brief glance at Kylo even though you knew you weren't supposed to. He wasn't driven by hatred or fury and his annoyance was kept under check, and yet he wasn't stopping himself, sending the general at the edge of consciousness and risking tossing him into the sharp claws of death. He had so many opportunities to finish his existence but for some reason, he was keen on keeping Hux alive until now. What changed? And what's more important - what were you going to do about it?
You wouldn't dare to look directly at Armitage who was all too quickly fading into the void. Besides, you didn't need to see to know how hopeless he was. Once again, you shut your eyes and tried to lock those feelings away, telling yourself that it was for the best and that there was a greater cause bigger than the both of you. But it took one mere memory of Hux's soft smile that he allowed himself to show during one of the few particularly bad nights to break you down.
Before you could further question your actions, the general fell to the floor with a loud thud. A slimmer, delicate hand seemed to have slipped under the grim hold locked on his throat and set him free. Armitage was a panting mess, kneeling on the floor constantly shifting between losing and regaining consciousness. The bloody marks left by his own fingernails were blooming with scarlet against his pallid skin. He was barely aware of the situation but he did feel it. The familiar touch that had tended to his wounds has now saved his life. His mind was still throbbing and he couldn't connect the pieces of information but deep in his heart he already understood everything.
And so did Ren.
"I was beginning to think you'd have me kill your beloved general," he spoke, folding his arms on his back. "Thank you for saving us a rather embarrassing show."
There was no point in playing your part anymore. You looked up at him, making sure that your face was showing no signs of fear in your time of dying. Because he was going to kill you, wasn't he?
For how long did he know, you wondered. Was it before the meeting or did you betray your true purpose upon arriving here? Did it even matter?
"I should kill you with the cruellest strike, you know that, don't you?" he said with a slight smile sending a shiver down your spine. His master was dead but apparently, his teaching was meant to live on for now. "But I think it would be a waste."
Gracefully and with no sign of the previous brutality, he outstretched his hand and lifted you up off the floor. Your whole body tensed preparing for the torture to come but it never did. Kylo was looking at you with a spark of curiosity in his gaze. He didn't take you for a threat and you knew that it could be his undoing but for know, he had the upper hand. "I think your heart, unlike someone else's, can be turned."
"I wouldn't count on that," you scoffed, your stubbornness originating in pure hatred.
"So you've already taken the side, then?" he asked.
But you weren't given a chance to reply. The shuffling could be heard from the centre of the room and you focused all your strength to turn your head and determine its source. You saw Armitage, crawling to where you were being held, struggling to hide his pained expression. It didn't take long for Kylo to notice as well and with an almost bored wave of his hand, your lover was tossed on the wall, the impact rendering him unconscious. Your rage was about to break through but you knew better than that. You concentrated on the brute force trying to sneak into your mind, almost grasping at your most hidden thoughts. You wouldn't let him have it, there was too much at stake and you didn't have the privilege to give in.
His attacks ceased and his lips parted in pure amazement. "Very well, then," your body was suddenly dropped to the ground. "I'll see you tomorrow during our very first training session. We'll see if you remain loyal to the defeated then."
He left the room without a word leaving you and Armitage in the company of his guards. You weren't sure what to do next. You had anticipated it could go bad but not nearly as tragic. Ren knew everything and yet you were allowed to live.
You crawled over to Tidge's limp body, hoping to find comfort in his presence. It was foolish of you to assume he'd still be by your side after all your lies but as soon as you touched his shoulder, his green eyes opened, filled with concern and bewildered. "Did he hurt you?" were the first words he spoke and you were about to burst into laughter at the irony.
"You're the one who barely survived the conversation," you reminded him. He tried to sit up and managed to do so only with your aid. You helped him get to the elevator and the guards weren't interested in stopping you at least for now.
"Would you kindly explain this to me?" Tidge asked once you left the elevator and headed towards his quarters. You tried to search his voice for signs of hostility but failed.
"Gladly," the word was spoken with an utter belief and it surprised you but it was the truth. After months filled with lies and hiding, you were almost happy to share a bit of truth with your unlikely lover. Or at the very least, the least harmful parts of it.
Thank you for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts on the story so don’t be afraid to reblog and add your comments! ♥

"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Qui-Gon turns to his partner, an eyebrow raised. "And why is that Obi-Wan?"
Both Jedi wait anxiously, or at least in Obi-Wan's case, for their jaeger to get the green light to deploy. The Maverick was the top of the line mark 2 that the Jedi Corps had to offer, and Obi-Wan was grateful that he had been chosen to co-pilot it with Qui-Gon. But with the breachers, or droids as the Jedi liked to call them, coming more frequently it was all hands on deck within the temple base. Which meant that both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon haven't slept more than 2-3 hours per day within the last couple of weeks. Obi-Wan didn't need the force bond with Qui-Gon to tell him that he wasn't the only one suffering from the lack of sleep.
"Our jaeger's repairs weren't completely finished, they still needed to run performance checks to make sure all systems were fixed. Not to mention that the droid's category isn't known." Obi-Wan frowned. And with larger and larger droids coming out of the breach, knowing their luck, this next droid could be a Sith. No one had seen a Sith classification since the beginning of the droid attacks, but all Jedi knew that the Sith came in pairs. When one came through the breach, another wouldn't be too far behind it.
Qui-Gon squeezed Obi-Wan's shoulder comfortingly. "I know, but none the less we are the only Jedi available. The Maverick will have to do, the Naboo are counting on us."
Obi-Wan sighed, deflating. "I know Qui-Gon, but it still makes me nervous."
"I understand Padawan but we must focus on the here and now, not on what may happen."
Obi-wan wrinkled his nose at the use of his old title, he wasn't an apprentice anymore but rather a full fledged knight thank you very much, but made no other comment as the comm system crackled to life.
"Neural handshake beginning in 5...4...3...2...1..." The voice of Chief Mace Windu filled the cockpit. Obi-Wan sighed, allowing his mind to clear. The flash of memories that came with the force bond happened quickly, and before Obi-Wan knew it the familiar presence of Qui-Gon was in his mind.
"Force bond initiated. Good luck gentlemen, may the Force be with you."
Obi-Wan turned to look at Qui-Gon one last time before their jaeger was dropped into the Naboo ocean. The hunt for the droid began.
"Maverick do you copy?"
"Looks like Windu is on the comms tonight." Qui-Gon mutters, causing Obi-Wan to smirk at his partner's frustration.
"We copy Windu." Obi-Wan answers before Qui-Gon can snark at the younger man.
"The droid should be picking up on your sensors momentarily, we have both of you on our radars."
"Do we know the category yet?" Qui-Gon questions.
"No, the bastard is still shielded heavily. You're walking into this blind."
Both Jedi looked to each other, their apprehension echoed in the force. The Maverick's sensors beeped, alerting them to the location of the droid.
"Hmm, according to the scanner the droid should be right in front of us." Obi-Wan frowned. "I'm not seeing anything, are you Qui-Gon?"
"Negative Obi-Wan. Which means that it must be underwater still. Be on guard."
With a nod Obi-wan turned his attention back to the water, the Jedi ready to strike at a moment's notice.
A giant rumble shook the Maverick as the droid quickly emerged from its hiding place in the water. The monster was huge, larger than any droid Obi-Wan had ever seen in his 10 years on the temple base, it towered over the Maverick by a good couple of feet. But it was not the size that made Obi-Wan falter. Instead the distinct red and black markings on the droid's face and body made the Jedi Knight's blood run cold.
"Holy- it's a Sith!" It had to be a category 5, or better. They had never fought anything over a category 3 before, no current Jedi had.
"Obi-Wan, look at me!" Obi-Wan's attention was drawn back to Qui-Gon. "We got to lure it away from the shore." Sure enough, instead of attacking the Maverick the Sith had it's sights on the Naboo shore line.
Obi-Wan shook his head, pushing aside his fear and worries to focus on the present like Qui-Gon was always telling him to. "We're going to need our lightsaber for this."
Qui-Gon nodded, a small smile on his face as he activated the Maverick's lightsaber. Without a moment's hesitation they attacked the Sith, swinging the saber with all the force they could muster. The Sith turned around with a howl, it's attention fully on the Jedi now.
"Well it knows we're here, now what?"
"Follow my lead Obi-Wan."
Together, united as one with the force bond, the Jedi parried the Sith's attacks. But the Maverick continued to stay on the defensive, without any opening to take advantage of things were not looking good.
"Maverick do you copy? You need to abort. I repeat, you need to abort."
"Negative base. We're still too close to the shore." Qui-Gon grunted as the Maverick took the brunt of an attack.
"Damn it Jinn! We can't lose you. Kenobi, talk some sense into him."
Obi-Wan hesitated for a moment, mind too focused on the task at hand. "Sorry Windu, but he's right. If we don't distract the Sith then Naboo will be lost."
There was a pause before a string of curse words was barely audible on the comms. "Backup is on the way Maverick, just hold on until then got it?"
"Understood, Jinn out."
With each passing moment, the Sith was growing more frustrated at the Jedi. Despite their best efforts, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan could not hold an offensive strike long enough to find a weakness. And Obi-Wan knew, at this rate, they would not last in time for reinforcements. As if the Sith had read his mind, it lunged for the Maverick. Both Jedi gave a yelp as their jaeger toppled to the ground.
Panic rose again in Obi-Wan's mind. "Qui-Gon, he's too powerful!" He all but shouted as they struggled to stop the Sith from crushing them.
"Obi-Wan, listen to me. Focus, we're going to be oka-"
Qui-Gon was cut off, his sentence ending with a gasp. Obi-Wan looked over to his partner in horror. The Sith had broken through the solid steel of the jaeger, it's long sharp claws now impaled the older Jedi. With a soul shattering shriek the Sith tore away a chunk of the Maverick, taking Qui-Gon's dead body with it.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Obi-Wan feels the emptiness of Qui-Gon's death in the force. What was once warm and loving had turned cold. He can feel himself drifting further into the force, losing himself in the swirl of emotions. No... he can't allow himself to drift like a youngling, he still has a Sith to kill. And damn the consequences he's going to succeed... for Qui-Gon.
With a new found determination Obi-Wan transfers total control of the Maverick, or what was left, to his side. The Sith aims for another blow, but this time Obi-Wan sees it coming and blocks it in time. Rage bubbles inside of him towards the Sith. Letting out a yell, he pushes the monster off of him. Seeing red, he activates the lightsaber once more. And for the first time this fight, Obi-Wan goes on the offensive.
If droids could feel, Obi-Wan would have sworn that this Sith would have seemed surprised. He relentlessly attacked, less worried about form and more on power, each strike fueled by his ever growing rage.
Suddenly he sees it. The weakness they, he, had been looking for. Obi-Wan channels all of his fury into one final strike, he hears himself unleash a feral shout as the Sith is sliced in two by the lightsaber.
Obi-Wan felt his legs give out, and he grabbed the console for support before he could fall to the ground. It was over, the Sith was dead. For a moment he turned to his right, expecting to see Qui-Gon's pride filled eyes on him, but all that met him was an empty pilot seat damaged beyond repair. Grief washed over him, and Obi-Wan closed his eyes to stop the oncoming wave of tears.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the annoying shriek of alarms. Obi-Wan swore to himself when he noticed the fried control panel. The Maverick is beyond repair, most of the electronics were shot, and if he remembered correctly the current alarm meant that the nuclear reactor had been damaged. Kriff, that meant he had maybe 10 minutes before the jaeger would automatically shut down so the core wouldn't explode. Obi-Wan's eyes drift towards the Naboo shore, he can't be more than a couple hundred feet away. Sitting straight up again, he begins the slow crawl back to land.
He makes it to the shore... barely. The Maverick powers down before he can pilot the jaeger completely out of the water. Windu is going to kill him, he thinks as he tears himself from the pilot seat letting out a wince when his right shoulder complains. Kriff he's going to need to see the healers after this one, hopefully it won't mean another dip into the bacta tank. Exhaustion takes over as the adrenaline from the fight slowly ebbs away, and for a moment Obi-Wan isn't sure he has the strength to make his escape.
Somehow he manages to make it out of the jaeger without passing out. His body wobbles with each step he takes as he numbly starts the trek away from the Maverick, never to lay eyes on the jaeger again. Some small part of his mind registers that he's probably in shock, the effects of having a force bond ripped apart was fatally dangerous if he did not receive help soon.
"Oh my god, are you okay?"
Obi-Wan looks up to see a teenage girl and young boy staring at him in shock. He realizes, suddenly, that he must look rather dreadful. Obi-Wan goes to open his mouth (to reassure them that yes, he's perfectly fine, most of the blood isn't even his...) but not sound comes out. Instead his legs decide that now is the perfect time to give out on him, and he hears the girl gasp in surprise. Someone catches him before his head can make contact with the ground, but Obi-Wan doesn't have the faintest idea who is cradling him in their lap.
"Ani, get help!" The girl shouts. Ah, so it's her lap that his head now lays in. He realizes that she's saying something to him, but it's as if he's underwater for everything is distorted and blurry. Obi-Wan wonders if this is what it's like to die as he drifts away into blissful darkness.
