Clueless Teens all grown up headcanons

I guess technically as the author I could declare this all fic canon but I think it's more fun to leave it open-ended so people can imagine their own things. Still, this is what I was picturing for them in the future. (Actually, for some of the couples, the kids I imagined for them got recycled over to my single parents au. Not Eremika's kids, but the other ones for the most part.)

Historia and Ymir have one daughter who they spoil the fuck out of. They also plan elaborate vow renewals approximately whenever they feel like it. When I was considering writing a one shot of them all grown up it was going to be everyone gathered at one of Yumihisu's destination vow renewal ceremonies.

Reibert. Oh gosh. They were going to "no homo" their way right to the altar and be very happy together.

Connie. He does not end up with Mina. I was of two minds with him: Either he is trying to find a milf to settle down with, or he is married to Sasha's cousin and they are struggling with fertility so he's the cool uncle with all the dogs and the secret pain of wishing they could have a child. I don't know why this is the case. It's just what I feel. Connie would be pretty much the ideal stepdad, imo.

Nicosasha. Again, I was of two minds! It's not realistic to have this many high school couples end up together in long term relationships/ marriages, but I also don't want to make anyone break up. Still, I can see Sasha and Nico having some kind of separation for a few years. Maybe getting married and then divorced and then marrying each other again ten years later or some shit. Why? I don't know. They are clearly very much in love, but that doesn't always last. Still, out of everyone I can see Sashe remarrying her first husband, with maybe a second husband in between. Greedy.

Aruani. These two go on their little date after Armin graduates and then proceed to not get together for another four years. Like, they still talk all the time and probably hook up when they see each other but they're like, "Meh, let's not do long distance. Let's keep it casual and if we still want to be together after college, we'll move in together immediately." It works for them and they eventually have a little boy, but Eremika are absolutely scandalized because they could never be so hands off.

Eremika. As you know, they have four kids super close in age. Mikasa makes a living streaming (she's the breadwinner. She's got that Azumabito business sense and Ackerman gaming skill) and Eren does civil rights law. So they have a pretty comfortable life and they spend a lot of time with their families. Eren walks around shirtless a lot, which is very popular on Mikasa's streams and he likes to come up and read the chats while she plays. If anyone tries to hit on her or says something sexual, he immediately loses his shit and starts threatening to find them and kick their asses. Mikasa is very pleased when she finally makes enough money to be able offer to fund Armin's dreams of opening a comics and games shop.

Pokkopiku. I think they also are the type to be parents to an only child. I'm thinking a girl. Pieck is very busy with her journalism career and Porco is living the stay at home dad dream. Maybe he becomes an influencer. He definitely keeps taking photos at every opportunity and he's got a bit of an online following. I think he might manage to book some gallery shows. When their daughter gets older he might get back into doing photojournalism again, and eventually they become a journalistic team once more, kind of like when they were in high school except this time with globe-hopping. I could see Pieck deciding to homeschool their kid so the whole family could go on assignments with her. In single parents au, I gave Porco twins, though (he's only in a couple scenes and we never meet his family, but he mentions them), and so I also kind of like the idea of Clueless Teens Pokkopiku having boy/girl twins. The point is, Pieck is willing to delay her career advancement long enough for one pregnancy and no more than that, so if they're going to have more than one kid, it has to be a multiple birth.

Am I forgetting anyone? I feel like I'm leaving someone out. I don't know! It's getting late and I have a few more things I want to work on before I go to be, so let me know who- Jeanmarco.

8. I don't really know if I think Jean and Marco end up together. I don't think they ever admit they have any kind of romantic feelings for each other because Jean is not totally comfortable with admitting to being bi at this juncture in time. I think they stay friends but Marco eventually moves on with a nice guy and Jean meets a nice woman who didn't know what a skeeze he was in high school and settles down with her and then eventually comes out when he's older and it's less taboo. He also does not revert back to being a creep.

It is only natural that you’re the one to sleep next to him, at camp. For one, you’d be the first to react to a nightly attack, if there ever were one. In the meantime, you’re the last to witness his smile as he wishes you all good night, and his eyes as they tentatively search for yours. Having nowhere to run to, and no viable escape route, Reiner a mountain too big to leap over now, you turn, panicky and flustered, and you shut your eyes close. And yet, a sweet warmth fills your chest as you fall asleep.

I have some other pieces in the works, but I'm not confident I will be able to post them before the cutoff date; still, even so, I'm glad I could participate, even if in this very small way; it helped me a lot to dedicate myself to narratives different from the one I've just escaped from (my one-year-of-effort longfic. Well. Almost. Hmm). Viva!

Any thoughts on Levi and Hange's friendship?

Maybe some headcanons or smt 🤔

i have many thoughts. bajillions of them, even. aided by the fact that im writing a ton of levihan in a longfic currently.

i feel like to their core hange and levi just even each other out. hange can of course be serious but being jumpy and rambunctious and silly is their nature!! they will jump to take risks, and they are extremely avoidant of serious responsibility.

example: during the uprising arc they were the one who wanted to lay low and go into hiding for a while longer, but levi convinced them to fight; plus the rumbling arc when they wanted to abandon the fight and live with levi in the forest, but he again convinced them to fight.

hange is also significantly burdened by self doubt. see the scene after eren was captured on the airship and them monologuing that making them commander was the only bad decision erwin ever made.

in contrast, levi is always put together, and an extremely quick thinker. when hange loses their grip, he is always there to bring them back to the main objective. where hange is irrational, levi is rational.

he has has a huge sense of responsibility to the fight, but he still cares about hange deeply: his complete rage when they were injured during the reiss battle in s3p1; then in s3p2 the first question he asked erwin after zeke started throwing boulders was the status of hange and their squad.

hange cares for him in the same way. the look on their face in s4 when it looked like levi might have been dead... and they also protected them with their life from the yeagerists with just a rifle. also, in s3p1, when levi apologized for getting their squad killed, hange still tried to comfort him with the fact that levi had killed the attackers and driven the enemy out of hiding.

i mean, they love each other. whether u ship levihan or not i think that's obvious.

but the tragedy in their relationship is totally beyond their control. when the world looked like it was going to end, levi put aside any and all affection he felt for them aside despite, or because of how horrible he felt after (1) letting zeke go again (2) killing 30 of his own comrades after they were titanized and (3) his injuries from the thunderspear explosion - all of which he no doubt blames himself for.

so, he probably felt convicted to finish the battle, not only bc of his promise to erwin, but to honor his dead comrades. i think hange also blamed themself for eren escaping, the insurrection occurring, and the general shitshow that happened after they became commander, but the difference is levi's convictions and hange's insecurity.

(and what about season 2 when they were so close to uncovering bert and reiner as traitors on the wall? they not only failed before it was too late, but they failed to keep eren from getting kidnapped again. that’s not talked about enough.)

no doubt that especially after they became commander, hange and levi leaned on each other constantly - not to mention that they were the last of the original veterans left.

in one of the official fanarts, it's HIGHLY hinted at that they were headed to visit erwin's grave together.

but i think it's practically a given that hange doubted levi's choice.

even before liberio, they were harbored tons of self-doubt, but they could still be optimistic. then when eren threw them into a war, their leadership came very much into question for them. also, they wanted to save commander erwin to the end: they even held mikasa back and gave her an entire speech about making impossible choices, and how one day you would have to prepare to say goodbye to everyone you've ever met.

but would hange and levi ever have argued about it?? definitely not. after erwin died, it's canon that levi struggled to consume anything other than tea, and it became his ONE goal to fulfill "erwin's last order", which was actually a promise levi made to him - even if he could do nothing else.

im getting sidetracked by eruri the point is that hange knew how much levi struggled to make that choice and the utter hell of grief that ensued. they always supported him, and in turn, levi did the same. he definitely threw all his energy into helping hange recover from their eye injury and for them to take on their new responsibilities so he wouldn't have to focus on his own turmoil at all, so he could be useful.

also, in the no regrets ova, the first time levi and hange met, they were taken with him. they wanted to know all about his skills and fighting ability and very much admired him for giving hope to the other scouts.

when asked to explain himself, levi didn't just brush them off (he wasn't mean only bc farlan told him to be nice lol); he said that he doesn't know, that his power was his own and that was that.

ok i dont want this post to just be a character study and i'd rather not go into manga spoiler territory so here are some more lighthearted hcs instead:

levi shared his (most expensive and favorite) tea with hange after sawny and bean died after how upset they got over it

it’s canon that levi asked moblit to protect hange because he couldn’t be around them all the time.

trivia: with hange's left eye gone after shiganshina and levi's right eye gone after the explosion, it definitely represents symbolism of them completing each other.

levi learned to do hair as a kid from his mother and when hange forgets to take care of themself (i.e., brushing their hair), he not only makes them wash up, but he gives them a braid from one of their super long bangs by their face - especially if they've been feeling down

hange likes collecting special rocks and leaves and other little oddities, and will give them to levi bc they think theyre neat. most of the time he says something along the lines of "You're giving me more trash?" but he secretly keeps them in a hidden drawer of his desk where he keeps fallen wings of freedom patches.

levi likes buying hange gifts

whenever levi was seriously injured/sick in the past (very rare) they were always the one to act as his primary physician despite specializing mainly in titan research.

when levi couldnt sleep, especially after hange became commander, he would sometimes sleep in a chair of their room like he did with erwin

building off the last one, if hange wakes up from a bad night terror, he will get them some water and spend time next to them until they're sleepy again

It sent a shiver up his spine. Reiner was forced to pretend it didn't hurt him. Like he didn't want to cry out and kill Zeke in that very moment.

So I hit a milestone recently of 10 fanfics (that I’m not completely ashamed of). This is probably a good time to organize everything into one nice post.

Takes place in Shinganshina 1-2 years after the retaking of Wall Maria. During the reconstruction of the city, Eren and Mikasa have finally found some time for themselves. After everything Mikasa has been through, she knows that Eren is the one person she can always depend on - the safe place where she can always go.

Jeankasa

Jeankasa Series (WIP)

Someday I will give this series a less-generic name.

Individual stories listed below - I expect maybe two more installments before this series is “complete”. (In quotes because I’d be totally open to coming back to it if another idea strikes me.)

1. Life Without the Sun (2387 words)

Mikasa has found peace in the aftermath of the war, and learns to appreciate the joy in her life - despite everything she has lost.

Originally a one-shot based on a dream I had, but has slowly expanded into a little series.

2. The Second Time (2737 words)

860.

Two years after Eren's death, Mikasa and Jean have developed a close friendship built upon mutual support in a time of despair and loneliness, and Jean has become like a father to her son, Deron. The friendship becomes complicated after a heated moment transpires between the two of them, and Mikasa wants to make things better again.

3. Someone To Look Up To (3174 words)

Jean takes Mikasa's son to Trost for a day at her suggestion. He uses the trip as an opportunity to teach the boy about his father: Eren Jaeger.

Five Years Waiting (3198 words)

Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, and Marcel were sent to Paradis five years ago. Over the course of those five years, Pieck managed to become a friend to Porco and even helped him learn to control his temper. Despite Porco's initial impressions of the girl, the bond between them has grown into something that he can't imagine living without.

A Lunch to Remember (790 words)

Porco, Pieck, and Zeke enjoy some burgers together.

A shortfic inspired by that one panel (you know the one) from SNK chapter 104.

Reikuri/Reihisu

Her Armor - WIP longfic (6 chapters - 17,848 words)

Rated M to be safe. (Implied sexual content.)

Begins at chapter 38 of the manga.

Titans have been spotted inside Wall rose, and a group from the Survey Corps have made camp at Utgarde castle. With Krista/Historia’s help, Reiner begins to realize exactly how much his comrades from the 104th Training Corps actually mean to him. He will have to reevaluate who exactly he is - a warrior, a soldier, or something else entirely.

A canon-divergent AU – What if things had happened differently? What if Reiner had made different choices, starting at this point?

We Were Just Kids - WIP (2 chapters - 4341 words)

What if we had different lives, but we were still the same people? What if our families and the people around us remained the same, but everything else was different?

A modern AU, where Reiner, Bertholdt, and Krista are children (to start). I wanted to give the characters backstories that mirrored their canonical backstories as best as possible, in a modern world with no titans.

Lots more characters and pairings will be addressed, eventually.

Trigger warnings: implied domestic violence, neglect, and terrible parenting in general...But don't fear - It's not all sad... and will be more cute fluff than anything else.

While cleaning the barracks, Floch stumbles upon a book hidden amongst Armin's things. Floch knows he shouldn't open it, but lets his curiosity get the best of him.

Written for the r/ShingekiNoKyojin Chapter 103 Festival. Expect a lot of butt puns and humor.
