KIDZ!
The Young People of the Lucyverse ~ Part 2
Tumblr media
W.C. Fields famously warned performers never to work with children or animals. Luckily for us, Lucille Ball consistently disregarded his advice. Here’s a look at some of the young performers and characters of the Lucyverse.
Tumblr media
Jerry Carmichael (Jimmy Garrett) and Sherman Bagley (Ralph Hart) ~ Jerry was the son of Lucy and Ralph was Viv’s boy on “The Lucy Show”. Hart appeared in 44 episodes from 1962 to 1965. Garrett appeared in 55 episodes from 1962 to 1965. Jerry had a teenage sister named Chris and their father was deceased. Sherman was an only child whose dad Ralph was divorced his mother Vivian.
Tumblr media
Chris’s young friend Susie (Lucie Arnaz) appeared in “Lucy is a Chaperone” (1962).
Tumblr media
Susie turned up again as a waitress at Wilbur’s Ice Cream Parlor in “Lucy is a Soda Jerk” (1962). Desi Arnaz Jr. plays a customer, meaning that both of Lucille Ball’s real-life children appeared in the same episode.
Tumblr media
In other episodes, Desi Arnaz Jr. played Billy Simmons, son of Audrey (Mary Jane Croft), a baseball player, football player, and cub scout. Billy was seen in “Lucy is a Referee” (1962), “Lucy and the Little League” (1963), “Lucy Visits the White House” (1963), and “Lucy and the Scout Trip” (1964, above), which also included Barry Livingston (as Arnold Mooney) and nine other uncredited scouts.
Tumblr media
When the show shifted locations to Los Angeles leaving Susie and Billy behind, Lucie and Desi Jr. appeared as spectators in the grandstands in “Lucy At Marineland” (1965).
Tumblr media
“Lucy Misplaces $2,000″ (1962) ~ Katie Sweet (Katie, Granddaughter of Woman on Bench) was just five years old when she filmed this episode, but had been acting since the age of two!  Earlier that year, Sweet played the title role in the Desilu pilot “Sukuzi Beane”, which co-starred Jimmy Garrett and helped him land his role of Jerry Carmichael. Sweet left show business when she was 13.
Tumblr media
“Together for Christmas” (1962) ~ Ends with Jerry and Sherman joining a group of carolers from the YMCA. The carolers were played by the real-life Mitchell Boys Choir.
Tumblr media
“Lucy is a Referee” (1962) ~ In addition to Jerry, Sherman, and Billy, the cast featured Dennis Rush (left) as Tony Lawrence. The other football players are played by the Mighty Mites of the Venice Athletic Club, a pee-wee football team from Venice Beach, California.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Goes to the White House” (1963) ~ Lucy and Viv take their cub scout troop to Washington DC to bring their sugar cube White House to President Kennedy. In addition to Jerry, Sherman, and Billy - the cast also includes 9  uncredited young boys as Cub Scout Pack 57.
Tumblr media
Critic’s Choice (1963) ~ Ricky Kelman played John Ballentine, son of Parker (Bob Hope) and stepson of Angie (Lucille Ball), husband and wife theatre critics.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Gets Locked in the Vault” (1963) ~ Barry Livingston plays Mr. Mooney’s son Arnold. Livingston is probably best remembered as Ernie, the adopted son on “My Three Sons.”  His first appearance on that series was just one week after he played Arnold Mooney, a role he would return to in “Lucy and the Scout Trip” (1964).
Tumblr media
When Livingston started on “My Three Sons” (also filmed at Desilu), the role of Arnold Mooney was taken over by Teddy Eccles in “Lucy’s Contact Lenses” (1964). Eccles began his show business career at the age of 4 and was 9 years old when he first appeared on “The Lucy Show.”
Tumblr media
He will make two more appearances on the series as other characters, including as Harold, a young cadet in “Lucy At Marineland” (1965). Coincidentally, Eccles also appeared in two episodes of “My Three Sons” alongside Barry Livingston.
Tumblr media
“Kiddie Parties, Inc.” (1963) ~ Lucy and Viv go into business hosting children’s birthday parties. Ronnie Dapo (David, above right) was a ten year-old actor whose first screen credit was in 1959 and his last in 1966. He made several appearances on “The Andy Griffith Show,” the second airing the very same night as this episode of “The Lucy Show.”  There are 8 other young boys in the party scene.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Becomes a Father” (1964) ~ Lucy accompanies Jerry on a father / son camping trip where Mr. Mooney is intent on making it so difficult that Lucy will pack up and go home. Five uncredited boys play the other sons on the trip. If Mr. Mooney’s son Arnold is among the boys, he is not singled out, nor are Barry Livingston or Ted Eccles in the cast.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Stamp Collector” (1965) ~ Stamp collector Junior White is played by Flip Mark, who celebrated his 16th birthday the day after this episode first aired. He was born Philip Mark Goldberg in New York City. In 1965, he played a young Steve Olson on “Days of Our Lives.”
Tumblr media
Flip Mark returned to “The Lucy Show” in “Lucy Goes to a Hollywood Premiere” (1966) as a kid selling maps to the stars homes. Curiously, this episode also mentions stamp collecting!
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Choirmaster” (1965) ~ Lucy organizes a boys choir to entertain at the bank holiday show.  The choir features her son Jimmy Garret as Jerry (his final appeareance), Ted Eccles as Barry,  Robert Roter as Newton, Micahel Blake as Malcolm, and Theodore Miller as Stanley.
Tumblr media
The other members of the choir (except for Mr. Mooney) were played by the St. Charles Boys Choir. Later that year, they formed the Disneyland Boys Choir and recorded the It’s a Small World album of folk songs still sold at Disney theme parks.
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Robot” (1966) ~ Jay North, best known as the title character of “Dennis the Menace”, plays Mr. Mooney’s rambunctious nephew Wendell. Interestingly, Gale Gordon (Mr. Mooney) played Mr. Wilson on “Dennis the Menace” during its final season.
Tumblr media
“Main Street U.S.A.” (1967) ~ Jackie Minty plays a Bancroft newspaper boy. Minty was a child actor who had done two episodes of “The Munsters.”  A week after this episode of “The Lucy Show,” he appeared on “My Three Sons,” his final screen credit before leaving Hollywood.
Tumblr media
Yours, Mine and Ours (1968) ~ Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda play parents of a blended family of 19 children. Among them are Tim Matheson, Gil Rogers, Nancy Howard, Morgan Brittany, Eric Shea, and Tracy Nelson.
BONUS KIDZ!
Tumblr media
“Lucy Meets Mickey Rooney” (1966) ~ In an acting school show, Lucy plays Charlie Chaplin and Mickey Rooney plays 'The Kid’, a character based on Chaplin’s 1921 silent classic The Kid starring Jackie Coogan in the title role.
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Stockholder” (1965) ~ Lucy, Viv and Mr. Mooney participate in an age regression experiement conducted by an eccentric doctor.
STAY TUNED FOR PART 3

I just watched episode seven and, not to quote Brax or anything, but what the bloody hell did I watch?!?
It was a great episode, and I find it amazing how this season has shown sides to women in the show we hadn't seen before (Violet and Louise Cherry so far). I found their bonding with Watts awesome in this episode- Louise and Watts are totally the lesbian gay solidarity friendship of the show (yes I know Louise has been in straight relationships but it's the 1900s whaddya expect?)
Personally I think they would've escaped the hornet room way faster had Watts been there, but I'm also happy he wasn't since then he was able to rescue them! Which, what's with Watts saving everyone's sorry asses over and over? Pop off you genius man, you.
Not to quote my dad or anything but I'm watching the show with him and he said he feels like Ralph becomes another Gillies/Pearce. Which... it's kind of becoming that way. I also appreciated George's jab about how many times they've resurrected Gillies.
The way Louise figures out Watts wasn't mourning over "Jacqueline", he was mourning over Jack was a cool concept too.
And Julia's "when we get out of here I'm going to wring your tiny neck like a chicken" was frickin awesome too imo-

Night at the Museum Wing AU
(AU by @multiversal-madness)
Tumblr media
I love this AU so much!
I based Al's wings off of a red-tailed hawk! Al always “thought of himself as “American” rather than Italian or even Italian-American.” (Al Capone by Deirdre Bair) The screech used for the Bald Eagle in Hollywood is actually the call of a red-tailed hawk!
Ralph's wings are based off a Rüppell's Vulture/ a Griffon Vulture. I don't have a lot of reason why, I just felt he should be a large bird of prey with feathers close to Al's. Griffon Vultures hold the record for the highest flying bird in the world!
Frank is based off a Northern Mockingbird. They are known for being very smart birds. They are also very aggressive and territorial, like Frank was. I feel I could have picked a bird of prey to fit in with his brothers, but I think a Northern Mockingbird suits him because of his description of being the best looking and mild-mannered brother.
(Colored Version below the cut)
Tumblr media
I love this AU a lot! I want to make more art for it. Multi says that "Those born in and later than 1900 have wings while some born 1890 to 1900 might have wings", which lets all the Capone siblings have wings! Ralph was born in 1894, Frank in 1895, and Al in 1899!
Since I headcanon Jimmy/Richard James "Two-Gun" Hart to be in Jed's group, I'm not sure if he would have wings! Especially since he was born in 1892. Maybe he did, but when he was made into a Miniature, they weren't added?

THE KING’S MAN HEADCANON
Polly and Oxford never married, but they got together six months after the foundation of the Kingsman; the relationship lasted for the rest of their lives.
They had no children, but they cared for a number of boys and girls who had lost their parents during the war, or whose families were unable to support them; the oldest of those children, Oxford formally adopted as his heir, bequeathing him his title and estate.
His name? Harry Hart (senior).

LUCY’S DINGING GUIDE!
The Restaurants & Eateries of the Lucyverse ~ Part 2
Tumblr media
Eating out brought Lucy to a wide variety of dining spots: sit down resaurants, diners, cafés and lunch counters are all here – in Lucy’s Dining Guide!
Tumblr media
The Cavalier Restaurant ~ "Lucy is a Kangaroo for a Day” (1962)
When Lucy’s knit dress unravels, she has no choice but to don a kangaroo costume to deliver important papers to a fancy restaurant. A bowl of onion soup is spilled in her pouch!
Tumblr media
The Elm Tree Inn ~ “Chris’s New Year’s Eve Party” (1962)
While Chris has a party for her teenage friends, Lucy and Viv bring their sons to the Elm Tree Inn for dinner and dancing. The boys especially enjoy the ice cream sundaes.
Tumblr media
When Chris’s party is a dud, Lucy, Viv and Harry (Dick Martin) come to the rescue with entertainment, a silent movie sketch featuring Charlie Chaplin at a café.
Tumblr media
The Pink Pheasant ~ “No More Double Dates” (1963)
When Lucy and Viv double date, there’s an argument about where to dine and the couples split up, fibbing about their plans. Harry suggests going to Tony DiBello’s for Italian food. DiBello’s will be featured in “Lucy Meets a Millionaire” (1964). Viv suggests The Country Kitchen in Ridgebury. Eddie wants to dine where George Washington slept – the 300 year-old Colonial Inn. Lucy makes one more suggestion: The Café Tambourine, which is probably a gypsy tea room.
Tumblr media
Naturally they end up at the same classy restaurant: The Pink Pheasant. So that Viv and Eddie (Don Briggs) don’t discover their deception, Lucy hides under the table. [The Pink Pheasant restaurant is really just a re-dressed version of The Cavalier, a restaurant seen earlier in the season in “Lucy Is A Kangaroo for a Day”. They even use the same chairs!]
Tumblr media
Wilbur’s Ice Cream Parlor ~ “Lucy is a Soda Jerk” (1963)
When Chris can’t make it to work at Wilbur’s Ice Cream Parlor, Lucy and Viv fill in. While Lucy works the counter, Viv handles table service, waiting on patrons played by James Gonzales and Desi Arnaz Jr.
Tumblr media
Charlie’s Café ~ “Lucy Visits the White House” (1963)
When the train to Washington DC stops in Greenview, Lucy darts into a trackside café to steal their sugar cubes to rebuld the model of the White House her cub scouts are bringing to President Kennedy. Charlie’s menu includes coffee, sundaes, hamburgers, and bacon & tomato sandwiches.
Tumblr media
Tony DiBello’s ~ “Lucy Meets a Millionaire” (1964)
Lucy’s dates Umberto Fabrini, an Italian millionaire who doesn’t speak English. Naturally, he takes her to an Italian restaurant - Tony DiBello’s. Tony is played by Jay Novello. Novello is associated with Italian food having played Mario, the "Visitor from Italy” turned pizza chef on “I Love Lucy.”
Tumblr media
Umberto (Cesare Danova) orders Tortellini Bolognese, which - thanks to Lucy - ends up in his lap!
Tumblr media
Fleeing the restaurant to make a phone call, Lucy and Mr. Mooney pass an un-named café .
Tumblr media
Four Corners Café ~ “Lucy and Viv Open a Restaurant” (1964)
The abandoned and run down café offers Raviola (another name for ravioli) and has a Sugar Bowl Special.
Tumblr media
Despite their renovations, the café fails to bring in any customers. To rescue their investment, Lucy and Viv hastily reinvent their investment.
LUCY: “How about making it a Spanish restaurant?” VIV: “Great! How about calling it El Fiasco.”
Tumblr media
They settle on a Gypsy Tea Room, serving Hungarian fare.
OLGA the COOK: “Push the Hungarian goulash.”
Tumblr media
When the Gypsy Tea Room doesn’t work out, they transform it into The Colonial Inn, an Early American themed restaurant, complete with the George and Martha as greeters (aka Lucy and Viv).
OLGA the COOK: “Push the Yankee Pot Roast.”
Tumblr media
Danfield Train Depot Snack Bar ~ “Lucy is a Process Server” (1964)
The chalkboard says they offer Roast Beef Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and Hamburgers. Stafford Repp plays the bored counterman. Mr. Mooney orders a hot dog and accidentally squirts himself with mustard. [Oops! Gale Gordon actually is eating a hamburger, not a hot dog.]
Tumblr media
Restaurant ~ “Lucy the Meter Maid” (1964) and “Lucy the Coin Collector” (1964)
The streets of Danfield featured these same no-name restaurant windows.
Tumblr media
The Park Royal Restaurant ~ “Lucy Meets Danny Kaye” (1964)
Lucy pursues the star into a fancy restaurant, where she succeeds in dumping a tray of food on his head!
Tumblr media
Coffee Shop ~ “Lucy and the Ceramic Cat” (1965)
After shopping for sales at Bigelow’s, Lucy and Viv duck into a coffee shop for a cup of tea. They run into Mr. Mooney, who is having liver for lunch.
Tumblr media
The Golden Greek ~ “Lucy and The Golden Greek” (1965)
Lucy and Mary Jane double date at a Greek restaurant. Lucy’s date Howard suggests the moussaka. Lucy thinks he is talking about the musicians!
Tumblr media
International Supper Club ~ “Lucy and the Undercover Agent” (1965)
After seeing a James Bond movie, Mr. Mooney takes Lucy and the Countess (Ann Sothern) for dinner at a fancy restaurant. There Lucy sees a man she believes to be a spy.
Tumblr media
Seafood House ~ “Lucy and Bob Crane” (1966)
Crane takes “simple and unassuming” Lucy out for a lobster dinner at a “simple and unassmuing” restaurant decorated in a nautical theme. Crane orders them both lobster.
LUCY: “Lobster is so ‘simple and unassuming’.”
Tumblr media
The Studio Café ~ “Lucy and John Wayne” (1966)
While Wayne is filming a movie, Lucy has lunch with him at the commissary. Thanks to Lucy, Wayne ends up with a face full of catsup!
Tumblr media
Hamburger Hovel ~ “Lucy Visits Viv” (1966)
To find a wayward Danfield boy, Lucy and Viv visit the Sunset Strip, where they search a biker bar. Motorcycles are parked in front of a burger joint called Hamburger Hovel, home of the original Bikerburger!  The eatery’s name is a pun on the real-life
Hamburger Haven
on Santa Monica Boulevard.
Tumblr media
Doc Putnam’s Drug Store ~ “Main Street U.S.A.” & “Lucy Puts Main Street on the Map” (1967)
In Bancroft, Lucy and Mel (Mel Torme) order two Strawberry Ice Cream Sodas (Mel: “In a clean glass”). Doc Porter is played by Paul Winchell.
Tumblr media
Restaurant ~ “Lucy Meets the Law” (1967)
After shopping (and before getting arrested), Lucy and Mary Jane pass by an un-named restaurant on their way to the bus stop.
Tumblr media
Phil’s Fatboy Burgers ~ “Lucy Gets Involved” (1968)
Lucy takes a part-time job as a carhop at a drive-in burger joint where she must deliver food on roller skates!  Lucy’s boss, Mr. Burton, is played by Jackie Coogan.
Tumblr media
The Dining Room of the Lafayette Men's Club ~ “Lucy Meets Sid Caesar” (1968)
Lucy order. chicken cacciatore, baked lasagna and broccoli with Hollandaise sauce. Mr. Mooney orders roast turkey with oyster dressing, apple fritters, candied yams, and homemade cornbread. Sid Caesar (aka Frankie the Forger) orders cottage cheese and skim milk - because he’s on a diet.
BONUS RESTAURANT(S)
Tumblr media
“The Danny Kaye Show” (1962)
In this Emmy Award-winning special, Kaye and Ball play three couples visiting three themed restaurants of different cuisines: Japanese, French, and Tahitian.
Tumblr media
Kaye introduces all three sketches as himself. The first sketch is done without dialogue. At a Japanese Restaurant, Lucy has trouble with chopsticks, a bowl of fried noodles, and lychees.
Tumblr media
In the second sketch, this time with dialogue, co-workers Miss Naomi Dinsmore (Lucy) and Charlie(Kaye), are on a first date at an elegant French Restaurant.
Kaye:“Where the menu is in French, and the waiters are in French, and the prices are insane. The food is not only in French, but in Brandy, Cognac, and pure alcohol.  You can get drunk just by breathing the napkin.”
Lastly, married couple the Andersons go to a tropical restaurant named The Tahitian Typhoon.
Kaye: “These are usually, the most exotic, the most authentic, the most uncomfortable, and… the most popular.”
Tumblr media
It lives up to its name when a sudden downpour drenches the couple. On the way through the tropical foliage, Mrs. Anderson steps in quicksand.
Mr. Anderson: “Don't struggle, you'll only sink faster. I learned that in the Amazon.”  Mrs. Anderson: “The Amazon?”  Mr. Anderson: “Yeah, it's a restaurant in Cleveland.”
Refusing to pay the check since they didn’t eat anything, the angry tribal maître d’ claps his hands, mutters an incantation, and shrinks the Andersons to pygmy size!

Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, James Doohan appears in "I See by Your Outfit," episode 2 of the first season of Laredo (original air date September 23, 1965).
Doohan has a short scene as a banker in a small border town. The Texas Rangers are sent for to break up the conflict between Mexicans and Americans who have gathered there for the anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo, and Doohan serves as spokesman for the townspeople.

Harvey Hart directed both this episode and the Star Trek episode "Mudd's Women."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I See by Your Outfit" was written by John D.F. Black, who served as Associate Producer on ten episodes of Star Trek. He also penned the episode "The Naked Time" and co-wrote its sequel, the Next Generation episode "The Naked Now," with D.C. Fontana (who asked to have her name removed from the final script when she disagreed with changes made to her original draft, and is credited as "J. Michael Bingham"). I just found a book about ''women who dressed as men in history'' and I'm ready to fire my transgenderification beam at it.
Mind you, I did use some criteria, like for how long they ''crossdressed'', if they only did it for a specific reason and then stopped immediately after, etc...
To be clear, the book fucking sucks and it does, in no specific order:
Says men dressing as women and vice-versa was ''grotesque,
Makes fatphobic and ableist remarks,
Makes a suspicious remark on hijabs, somehow equating dressing as a man to escape the patriarchy to wearing a hijab (???)
Misspells ''Brokeback Mountain'' as ''Broken Mountain'',
Misgenders and deadnames Billy Tipton, James Allen, Dr. Barry, and Alan Hart (the first transgender man to undergo a hysterectomy. This book says Alan was a lesbian and was ''convinced'' by a doctor to become a man, which totally isn't super common transandrophobic rhetoric.
Even worse, the book implies that after his hysterectomy, he just HAD to become a man, because what is a woman without her precious uterus 🥺 Amirite ladies?? Feminism!).
So, yeah, you get the kind of crowd.
Let's go, here's a list of people-who-maybe-were-transmascs you might not know.
Ralph Kerwineo - USA (1876-1932)
Tumblr media
[Image ID:
Two pictures of Ralph Kerwineo, a close-up, and a 3/4 shot. His name is on the bottom right]
Ralph was a mixed black and Indigenous American man. He lived as a man for 14 years before being outed by his ex-wife.
Notably, he went to court against his wife (she sued him) and the judge declared him an exemplary man, and even the newspapers only had good things to say about him.
They also said he ''became'' a man to support his wife economically, but a quote from him says: ''My woman's soul had died and the man's had taken its place''.
Source (There aren't many sources about him)
An unnamed transgender - France (?-1535)
The Parisian humanist Henri Estienne (1531-1598) names a woman who:
Disguised himself as a man, married another woman, and was burned alive around 1535 after the diligent investigators had exposed the "wickedness he used to falsify the office of husband".
Unnamed transgender men in France and ''Mary'' (?-1580)
A quote from Michel de Montaigne's ''Journey to Italy'' mentions:
''Seven or eight girls belonging to Chaumont-en-Bassigni had secretly determined to put on male attire, and to live the life of men. Amongst these one, called Mary, came from Vitry aforenamed. She got her living by weaving, passing as a well-favoured young man, and on friendly terms with every one.
She engaged herself to marry a woman of Vitry, who is still alive, but on account of some strife which arose between them, the match went no further.
Afterwards, having gone to Montirandet, and still following the weavers calling, she fell in love again with a certain woman, with whom she married and lived, as the story goes, contentedly four or five months.
But, having been recognised by some one living at Chaumont, and the matter having been brought to the notice of the courts, she was condemned to be hanged; whereupon she Montier-en-Der. declared she would liefer suffer thus than live a woman’s life[1]. She was hanged on the charge of using unlawful appliances to remedy the defects of her sex.''
Source (Page 30)
[1]: As in, he'd rather be hanged than to live as a woman!
1700s packer
So, this comes from the story of one of Giacomo Casanova's lovers, and I don't believe she was transmasc but she does describe the ''packer'' she wore to pass as a castrated man.
''A kind of gut, long, soft, as thick as a thumb, off-white and very soft.''
Frank Woodhull - USA (c. 1858 - after 1908)
Tumblr media
[Image ID:
A picture of an old newspaper clipping.
The headline says: WEARS MAN'S ATTIRE IN ORDER TO EARN LIVING.
On the left is a picture of Frank, with the text ''Miss Mary Johnson'' directly below.
The article says:
''New York, Special: Free to go where she pleased in this country, Mary Johnson, who went to Ellis Island from the steamship New York on Sunday morning, dressed as a man, left the immigrant station and departed for New Orleans.
Garbed in the same attire, and to all outward appearances the ''Frank Woodhull'' that she named herself, the woman took passage on one of the steamboats carrying immigrants to the outgoing trains in Jersey City, and therefore did not set foot in New York.
This disappointed a large crowd gathered at the Battery. The officials at the Island, from commissioner Watchorn down, had been impressed by the woman's apparent sincerity when she told again her story that in women's dress she could not learn an honest living.
The fear of detection of her true sex by children was ever-present in Miss Johnson.
''I have roughed it in the west with men as my only companions, and in other places among men and women.'' she said ''and only once has my sex been questioned, and that time it was by a child. It seems that they must have an intuition that older persons do not have.
Fifteen years ago, in California, a boy said to me ''Why, you look like a woman with men's clothes on.'' At the moment I had no hat on, but my hair was cut, combed and brushed as well as any man's.
In a few minutes I had placed the hat - a soft one - on my head. The little boy, again looking at me in wonderment, said ''Now you are a man, aren't you?''
Since that time I have avoided children.''
The woman stated that she sold trinkets and took orders for magazines among the Creoles in New Orleans before, and would go at once to that city if released."
End ID]
Frank, a Canadian-born immigrant, lived as a man for about 15 years before being discovered due to a tuberculosis check. We don't know much about him, but apparently, he was let go after being discovered, so I hope all went well for him.
Nillo Pino - Italy (1868 - 1968) (told you I'd find Italian trans men)
Nillo lived 23 years as a woman and 77 as a man and died at 100 years old. He was the curator of a tuff quarry in Sicily.
There aren't many records of him, but it's reported that he changed his name on the register, changed his sex marker, wore a band around his chest, and ''peed like a woman'' (sidenote: how do they know this??)
Murray Hall - USA (1841 - 1901)
Tumblr media
[Image ID:
Two hand-drawn portraits of Murray Hall. One of them is a close-up of his face, the other is a full body shot of Murray walking his dog.
The subtitle "Murray Hall" is under the close-up.
End ID]
I think he might be a little better known, but here goes anyway.
Murray Hall was a Scottish immigrant and a politician in NY, and apparently, no one in his life knew he was AFAB.
His family continued to respect his pronouns and identity after his death, which is why I loooove that this book misgenders him. That was sarcastic, by the way.
Colonel Sir Victor Barker Bart or Geoffrey Norton - England (1895-1960)
Victor was born in Jersey and reports say ''he always wished he had been born a boy''.
He left his husband and children and moved into the Grand Hotel in Brighton with his lover, Miss Elfrida Haward, whom he married under ''false name'', aka with his preferred name.
He was a member of the National Fascisti, which as a footnote I'm not forgiving nor forgetting, I'm adding it because I feel like it shouldn't be left out, and because I want people to know this, if they wanna look into his life.
He was arrested for bankruptcy, theft, and forging his marriage certificate.
Alexander Durov, Alexander Sokolov, or Alexander Andreevich Alexandrov - Russia (1783 - 1866)
Alexander was the son of a Russian major and spent most of his childhood among the army men.
He abandoned his husband and child and enlisted in 1807 in the Polish Horse Regiment, where he saved the lives of two fellow soldiers and later received medals and full honors.
He continued to dress as a man for the rest of his life.
There are many other people named in this book, which I'll link but it's in Italian, but like I said it's not worth reading it. Anyone who calls Dr. Barry or Billy Tipton women is not worth listening to, in my opinion.
