Why I HATE the puzzle piece symbolizing Autism:

Hate groups like Auti$m $peaks use it, trying to say we are missing pieces of ourselves. That we are broken and have to be put back together and fixed. That we are a problem to be solved. THEY are telling us who we are, not understanding us.

Why I LOVE the puzzle piece symbolizing Autism:

Because a puzzle is made of multiple pieces, each one important to see the bigger picture. I AM AUTISTIC. Autism is a part of me. Not the only part, but a part of me that has to be acknowledged in order to understand me. I AM a puzzle. Not in the sense that I have to be solved or fixed, or that I am in pieces, or missing parts. I am a puzzle, because I am complex. PEOPLE are complex. I AM A PERSON. A person that is AUTISTIC. Everyone is a puzzle, and has their pieces. If a piece is my Autism, I am proud of that piece. Not because people like A$ tell me what the puzzle piece means, but because I CHOOSE what it can mean for ME.

I think I finally figured out why it bothers me so much that Paul Dano was cast as The Riddler. It’s because he would have played a better James Gordon Jr.

The resemblance is uncanny. And the vibes Dano gives off in the film seem more like James Jr. than Edward Nashton. At least to me.
