also I am not an Austen heroine but I might be if Bingley were a woman and also inherently and of necessity smarter and much further along in my character journey (all love to Bingley)

#akskskjejejeje #the quality that’s the same is just. We get the party started #We BEGIN the things #and then kind of have to go off and have our own little journey (the going back to town journey)#but the excitement of when we enter and re-enter the story (if I may say so myself) is the same #also there’s not really any Austen heroine who fits #Anne and Fanny are temperamentally very unlike me simply because of the being inwardly withdrawn/focused #I am close to a Marianne! But I don’t have the running into a brick wall intensity #Or at least not in the same way #I’m not Eleanor I could be Emma or Catherine but I don’t have Emma’s interfering faults or catherine’s total naïveté #and I’m just not Lizzy because if I saw a Darcy at a party I wouldn’t think ‘that’s a vaguely unpleasant man I’m either going to tease’#‘or totally ignore’#I would be like wow AMAZING I want him to be my best friend right now and then I would make it happen #hence the Bingley #Lol #anyway this all came from when I met Emma and she wrote fixing on the hour based on us being the girl version of their friendship #Anyway this is your open invitation to tell me which Austen heroine you think you are (if you want to!)

It just occurred to me that the soft reboot might make the fandom even more divided than it already is, because there will probably be people who start watching from series 14 and don't watch anything else, like how there's people who only watch nuwho 😭

#i dont mean this in an offensive way to people who only watch nuwho - ive only watched a little classic myself #its just that we're once again gonna have a situation where large groups of people cant talk to each other about the same show #or at least not in the same way #doctor who

Confession: the AI "art" kind of creeps me out. 😬. Like, I get that the concept is kind of fascinating, but the results always have kind of an "uncanny valley" nightmarish vibe to me. That feeling that something is just... Off a bit. Something is Wrong. The whole "Thing is trying to appear human but I have this gut feeling that it is Not Human" feeling that I find deeply unsettling.

#And I don't feel this way about abstract art made by humans #Or at least not in the same way #Even in unsettling Surrealist art I can still tell that Decisions Were Made. You know?#But this has no reason to it and it feels like a bad dream where nothing makes sense

Nah, I know I have less restraint than most people when it comes to killing characters. I'm working on a different (not fnaf) story where no one should die, so I can practice my restraint.

Gregory's a complicated character because he has a shot at survival. He's the child that might survive. Although, like the implications in your last comic page, even getting endings did not guarantee his life. Most of the nightguards (that we've heard of) survive their games. But children are nearly always the ones who die.

And I get it. The fandom loves Gregory and wants him to be the child who does it. The character whose story doesn't end in tragedy. But because of the situation, it'll end in trauma if not tragedy. Just like our nightguard friends. There are always consequences for fnaf characters. It's part of the experience, after all.

… That I’ve already mentioned how amazing their relationship development is going from the pilot to the series finale, but…

Also can we talk about them going from the ‘we’re not friends’/‘bc you have so many of those’ conversation to ‘get them to the chopper, now.’

W/ special mention to the ‘Nate, I can take them.’ preceding it, as well.

#Leverage #I went on about it in the tags before #but s1 is def building that relationship #it's somewhat rocky and messy #but by the Davids Jobs #well like I said those two eps go to show just how close they've managed to become #and then s2 is all about locking it in #like I know it was bc of Gina Belleman's pregnancy #but I feel like Tara's introduction goes SO FAR to show off just how completely Eliot and Nate have settled into their thing #like you def see the seeds on that first job from Eliot's professionalism to just how he talks to Nate later #but the development from there to him being the one Nate calls on to get the others out #bc he knows Eliot will do it for them and for him #and just #Eliot being ready to fight too many people w/ too big guns to protect his family #and ONLY not immediately trying bc Nate doesn't give the clear #Sterling would have had to be let go from work for medical reasons very early on if not for Eliot's loyalty to Nate #their relationship may not have quite as many ups and downs as the others #or at least not in the same way #you see the roots early on and it's proper settled by s2 and just continues getting deeper #they're pretty steady which fits both of them and fits w/ what I was saying about Eliot in that other post #Eliot will follow Nate to hell and try to protect him from it #s1 develops the relationship and the finale sees it solidify even if they scatter #s2 shows us just how deep and absolute it is #in s3 it comes under fire but comes back stronger than ever #s4 gives you another angle at it and shows just how deep it's come to run #and s5 is about passing the torch #but like I said the loyalty doesn't go away and the thing they had can't be replicated #his charge may be Parker and Hardison but Eliot's still Nate's left arm if he needs him #and it's beautiful #Literal Crime Family

more backstory that i wrote up for patreon heh:

Simon and Tommy had a complicated relationship as brothers.

At a young age, Simon basically wrote himself off as a lost cause, and did the best he could to make sure at least Tommy had a chance to be a functioning human being. After all, Tommy was the gentler brother, the dreamer, the one who looked like their mother (who'd walked out on them years ago to escape their father). But Tommy got bitter, got sick of the one always being protected, being babied. He lost respect for Simon, for the way he wouldn't fight back, and in a twisted way, grew closer to his father as a way to learn how to be powerful, strong. It backfired, and Tommy got wrapped up in some bad business.

Simon's kid brother died while he was deployed. He got the news in the letter, and it broke him in a big way. In the story timeline, it was years and years ago but it still hurts like hell whenever Simon thinks about him.

I got my hair cut the other day and of course I had to draw the dca boys running a hair salon:

Sun would be so effortlessly charming. Always chatting away with customers, explaining each product he uses and how to best maintain and style their hair.

Moon I can see being popular with the less chattier customers (like me) but over time they begin to open up. I imagine he hums while working. Otherwise, he's all ears for the newest gossip.

(The clipped up hat idea came from @bamsara's solar lunacy doodles!)

Also I love the popular headcanon that the dca can speak other languages, so I can imagine them being a hit with the aunties.

Other thoughts about this... AU? Can I call it an AU? Feels kinda small for an AU, but whatever:

Eclipse works there too! Haven't decided if it would be canon or fanon Eclipse, though I really like the image of 4-armed Eclipse working on 2 clients at once (plus, the nickname Clip is perfect for this scenario)

of course they're great with kids! They'd be able to console kids that get scared of getting their hair cut. Sun would do a little trick and tell them how good and brave they are all the way through. Moon would console them and hum a soothing song (or hey maybe they notice the kid's wearing a disney shirt and starts humming some showtunes). Every kid gets a candydrop and a balloon on their way out.

y/n works at the hair salon as a part-timer and does tasks around the salon like sweeping, arranging bookings, washing hair, etc. They don't really care too much about their own hair, but the boys are always offering to style it, dye it, braid it. With y/n's permission, the boys always toy with their hair—patting it, combing their hands through it, brushing it over y/n's ear, ruffling it.
