so me and eden talked about it and ive decided to take a sort of internet break with her, just for a week or so. i hate hate hate being so dependent on the internet (particularly social media) for both entertainment and socialization and i feel like being online so much and relying on it for SO LONG (since i was maybe 11?) has really been detrimental to my mental health. and since ive made rent for this month i feel like now is a good time to just step away for a bit.

i still unfortunately rely on the internet for my livelihood--i HAVE to take commissions in order to make rent, provide food, etc, so i wont stop posting art or taking commissions! i'll just be less social i guess. i wont make any posts or reblog anything, i'll just be posting art and contacting ppl abt commissions.

i want to spend more time with my wife. i want to go outside more. i want to hang out with irl people more (i literally have no irl friends). i want to go to meetups. i want to disconnect from the internet so bad i HATE relying on it as much as i do. i mean this so unironically i want to touch grass again

im ngl. i also talked w eden about possibly starting up an irl small business for my art--something along the lines of basically being a caricature artist again, but this time self employed. i'd have my own brand and go to parties and draw people, and volunteer at the local children's hospital sometimes too and draw the hospitalized kids. im honestly just trying to think of ANY job that would help me ease up on being so reliant on social media for income, if possible, that would still be fun for me and not absolutely kill my mental health like my previous irl jobs did. dont get me wrong i love drawing yalls ocs! but i cant charge as much as i should be b/c i dont have enough of a following/demand, so i have to take a lot of commissions before im able to make a decent living. it sucks.

if i could charge more to where i only had to take maybe 3 commissions a month in order to make rent, thatd be ideal. id still love to do commissions for a living! i love drawing your blorbos and i honestly dislike the idea of going back to caricature art--its not my passion by a longshot and its very stressful to do live art so quickly. but im just trying to think of anything to help at this point u_u i cant get on ssi b/c then we wouldnt be able to use my bank account for income and we'd basically have No Money To Do Anything Freely Anymore. so i gotta just. stick with what im doing. IDEALLY id be able to take commissions and post art while not being necessarily Active on social media anymore, but idk how to make that work just yet or if thats even a thing i could do..

anyway. TL;DR im going to take a semi-break from social media/the internet for about a week, but i'll still post art + take commissions + accept messages from close friends on discord. i want to HEAL, man

Forgive my language. But GOD im so fucking tired of people not finishing their commissions and still taking on more. Dare i say, complete dumbasses. Its so frustrating to me because ive been waiting for multiple commissions (which i paid upfront for), all over/almost a year old, and i still haven’t received any fucking sketches nor money back. Im normally a very patient and overacommodating person which is what got me to this point where i cannot file a charge back, and i feel fucking dumb for letting myself be scammed.

Hell, i used to even think for a while this was just the case with artists who are minors, but hell no, not even fully grown ass adults reach out to me with any updates. I’m so pissed. One of them literally won’t even respond because “they lost my dm” for several months after i shoot them a message every 2-3 months or so, and i just checked to see them be extra active all day today, yet still not responding to me asking ONCE MORE for any updates a few hours ago. I want my $90 back.

Look, i get that people find themselves in a long queue, but this shit is ridiculous, and i’m sorry to say this but if you struggle to finish art in a timely manner for someone who already paid you then don’t. Fucking. Take. More. People.

I’m literally furious, seeing them all complete so much art through the entire year yet not being able to draw me at least a sketch. I shouldn’t have to wait that long. If i knew it would take that long i would never comm. istfg.

Okay, Idea of Xiao fic:

The reader is a spirit born of the desires and dreams of a sick little girl, she has a strange disease that comes suddenly and lasts for long periods of time (months) before healing, leaving for a while and coming back again. That is why she is not usually outside and is usually alone in her room, sick or resting. But she's actually a pretty active, imaginative and curious little girl, and she'd love to travel and explore the world. Not to discourage her, the doctors and her parents told her that when she was older the disease would go away, and that she could go on adventures and live a normal life.

She usually dreamed of waking up to it, imagining herself as an old man in adventures and doing everything she dreamed of doing, so she created an idealized figure of what she would be like as old, who then became an imaginary friend and out of this came the reader. Although, she was rather a quiet person, and was like an older sister, she would tell her stories to distract her when she was sick and also sing songs about them, in addition to giving her hope that she could be healed.

She knew it was cruel, but she couldn't tell her otherwise, besides, a part of her believed that maybe, maybe, her dreams could come true someday.

There was a time in ma when the girl was fine for quite some time, so they let her go out and do whatever she wanted for mondstadt, the reader accompanying her along with her parents. While exploring she saw Venti who was singing a song, she was marabillated and loved his song, telling the reader how they were like hers. Before leaving, Venti made eye contact with the reader and she get scared, no one had ever seen her before and without the little girl noticing, she disappeared. The next day she met Venti again and apparently the girl had talked to him about her, but he knew she was not just an imaginary friend.

"You... what are you?"

She told him what it was (even though she herself didn't know what she was) and her relationship with the girl, she also told him that within here not long they would go to Lyue to find a doctor who could help the girl. He also told her that he would like to be able to make the girl's wishes come true, show her all the fantastic places that she had talked about and sung about and that she could grow up and have the life that she wanted so much. Venti listened and smiled, and asked her to do a duet to sing to the girl, she came and they sang, to her surprise, the people gathered, it seems that during her singing they could see and hear her, but at the end of the song, she became invisible and inaudible to everyone again. As venti left, she felt something heavy and cold against her palm, a bright vision hydro greeting her with her reflection.

She was able to make water and make illusions and shapes with it and used them to tell stories to the girl. Apparently people listened to her, but she decided not to pay too much attention to her, although the girl was happy that more people could enjoy her songs.

They go to lyue and stay at wangshu inn, at first people were scared of the sudden singing voice that started to be heard, but they got carried away by the wonderful voice and became used to it. (I imagine chongyun listening this and going there but we're not going to talk about that-) And Xiao, of course is one of those who hears this too. Although at first he was restless and even a little irritated by the disturbance of the usual silence, he found himself relaxing before the sweet voice, sometimes numbing it. The story is in general of how Xiao and she approach and overcome things like xiao's traumas and in the case of the reader overcome the girl's death. In the end also, the reader turns in a adeptus, Zhongli gave her that charge after seeing that she always went throughout lyue to sing and entertain people (after she overcame the girl's death). The ending would be where xiao and she are happy together, cause they now have someone by their side, someone to care and love.

Isekai idea:

The reader died (yes, she died) in a plane crash (she is now afraid of heights and everything that has to do with flying) and was saved by Paimon and Aether. She is scared and doesn't know what to do (her personality is I think identical to that of the girl from albedo's idea I had). She not knowing anyone and not having a place to go stays with them, but feels a useless and a burden, she is a normal person and cannot cope with monsters and when she sees them she is paralyzed with fear. When they arrive in madnostat, aether tells her to stay there while he makes commissions to earn money, but she feels guilty and asks amber for help in getting a job.

At first she works at Angel's Share, but feels uncomfortable working there among people who get drunk, but says nothing and keeps working. She thinks it would be ungrateful to want to change jobs, so she keeps working there for a couple of weeks. On one of his working days he meets venti, who immediately notices how uncomfortable she is, they talk for a while and he advises her to look for another job, but she does not give up and continues to work there.

Amber one day goes and asks how she is doing, but before the reader can answer Venti tells aber that she is uncomfortable working there and should look for another job. The reader tries to tell Amber that she is ok and doesn't mind working there anymore, but amber interrupts her and goes with her to find another job. In the end they go to where Jean is and on the way they meet Lisa, who was leaving the library. Lisa greets Amber and she returns the greeting, Lisa asks them what they are doing and Amber replies that looking for work for the reader, Lisa offers her work and ends up working in the library. In the end she ends up being quite close to Venti and is the one to whom she has told many things about her ( our) world.

In general she is only a spectator who sees everything from a distance, she doesn't know what todo either and doesn't like to go from one place to another without direction, she would like to have a place to belong to without feeling a stranger all the time. Before going to Lyue Venti gives her a vision (she has the same powers as the albedo idea reader). Honestly, I don't know very well how this story would go, I don't remember very well the story of the game and I don't know any place where I can see it again and in detail. Any ideas for this story are welcome, I need them.

dude... the personalities you give to the reader are so in depth...... normally, writers would just describe the reader vaguely, so im very much impressed. but i think i know why you have difficulty writing for what happens in the main plot? (i hope you don't take this the wrong way, this is just something harmless i noticed)

it seems you focus too much on the back story and it makes the main plot somewhat bland? or perhaps you just chose to miss more details on the main plot cuz you wanted to keep the surprises in your story? however, i do think your first idea was really interesting! i'm only talking about the isekai one (it would make sense if you just came up with the isekai idea recently and don't have much stuff for it yet) i don't think i have ideas concrete enough to be helpful, so i'm sorry about that, but maybe you can do something with the reader's fear of heights? like maybe she fell off from a high place again, and her first meeting with xiao is him catching her? aaaaaa i don't know,, it sounds cliche but i'm the type of person who'd enjoy that stuff ;-;

Okay, i have an idea for a project for 2021. I wanna make pins, and a tote bag with a pin placing print on it, bc its gonna be cute.

At the same time, i have one, single, simple objective. I know i wont be able to move out. I know i wont be able to keep studying or get my masrters degree. I know all that. I just want to have enough money to be able to put an ac unit here. It was 43C yesterday at 8am. Its not even summer yet. TWO full body, full render commissions per month would be enough for that, ya know. FOUR per month would have me not needing to run myself dead for a job i dont want, like or care for. This may sound crazy, but its real. I just looked up the US minimum wage, and a week worth of pay is the equivalent to more than a full month here.

I really want to be commissioned to make art. I really wanna make a living off it. I love it and living where i am, i can charge it cheap and still have a nice way to live comfortably.

I thought about making a patreon or some shit, but i know i have zero public for it.

please have references, descriptions, photos, info, etc ready when you contact me. if you come to me for a commission and do not send me anything that i can actually work with to begin drawing within the week i will cancel your order and give the slot to somebody else. I really prefer you have all that sorted out before you even try to contact me/reserve a slot at all. to reiterate: send me your refs/info within a week or you forfeit your slot.

speaking of slots, now that i’m working by those: do not try to claim slots in advance if i talk about opening commissions soon, by the next day, etc etc on my blog or anywhere else. slots will not be claimed until i officially open them to everybody.

i take payment after getting a first draft sketch approved. please do not pay me in advance without asking me first and especially not without having refs/etc sent first. i will not finish your commission/send you the final image if i have not yet been paid in full, however i also don’t want you to send me money until i send that sketch so you know you’re getting something for your money. this system works for both of us!

backgrounds are usually just simple flat color, gradient, splash/shape, etc. anything more complex will require extra charge, depending on commission style. generally i don’t do heavily detailed/complex backgrounds; if for some reason you want to try and get that out of me anyway it’s going to cost a lot of extra cash and take a lot of extra communication. ie. a full scene/illustration is probably going to end up costing you at least two to three times the price of the art w/out the background upcharge if not more, depending on what you want/the style/etc.

extra charge for complex designs/outfits, as well as things like armor, lots of jewelry/accessories, etc. i tend to be a bit lax on this but please be prepared just in case!

extra charge for additional characters -- honestly in most cases i just double the price because that’s double the work and i don’t personally enjoy doing bundle discounts or anything sorry. for Very Simple styles/sizes/etc i may lower this but generally if you want another character you’re just gonna pay for a whole other character.

extra charge to draw characters that don’t have references or for custom design work. i like designing things, i don’t mind working off description when i have to, but that all takes a lot more effort/etc than already knowing exactly what the character is meant to look like. it’s encouraged + very helpful for you to provide things like moodboards, pinterest boards, fashion&aesthetic photos, etc + as much description and information as you can give for these sorts of things! if i’m working entirely on text descriptions you’re gonna get charged a lot more than if i at least have photos to help me.

all extra charges are to be determined based on complexity/detail level, amount of characters added, how much is based on description rather than reference material, etc. this is why i don’t have an exact +amount listed on any of the above points; complexities on a little lineless bust aren’t going to cost as much as complexities on a full body painting and so on.

I do prefer paragraphing and we all know the feeling of one word responses. This is a hobby and creative outlet from myself so that’s why I have no big stressors about punctuation or spelling.

Counterpart pathways

A magical filled fantasy realm where all is possible including the bad. One summer day a incubus/demon hybrid named Jona, father of three, learns someone has kidnapped all three of his boys! He's on the hunt for clues and finding them at all costs. Gathering the best crew possible of Moof the best wolf bounty hunter in all the realm, Bell the boys spider caretaker shapeshifter, and Glover the bull/bison hybrid the green alchemist, set off to find the children. Along the way by gathering clues they encounter obstacles and trials of skill and pursuit! Will they ever find the three octopus babies ? Will Jona have closure and put on a shirt? Will Bell ever stop stealing everything shiny? Will Moof grow more confident in his teammates? Will Glover not stop shaking and being such a wuss? Who will help this odd 4 on their epic abnormal quest?!

Puddles

A time traveler that gets stuck in between dimensions due to their powers temporarily weakened from the extensive work they've been doing end up meeting a stranger who takes them in. Not used to the timeline they shows up in, they have to knowledge of normal behavior. They must figure out a way to recharge their abilities but has not of the slightly clue as to what it causing them to have lost them in the first place. Is the person that's helping them good or evil? Who's side are they on? How will they figure them out? Why do they find the stranger oddly familiar?

When men become mortal

An alien/robot/human species that survives by using different masks/chips for various occasions. It's like buying different clothes but they adapt or transform the hoist for a month or less of another body/form/identity. The main character experiences a technical difficulty where their head socket cannot adapt to a new face for long and has to get it repaired. Though along the way he seems to find that not wearing a false identity they actually enjoy seeing the outside world with no expectation of appearance. The other is a identity artist, the one whom develops different faces and identity. He spends hours tweaking details of bodies and faces. He always has the nicest things because of his work and from important commissions and work for certain clients.They meet at a gallery that the artist is hoisting at a museum. The individuals there are decorated like some of the model pieces and others artist curators-part sellers. The faceless one decides to go to the museum to see what's or who's being showcased and since he has a little bit of extra money he saved up for the occasion. Everyone finds him interesting since he doesn't have an appearance, they think he's a model. Thus they send him to meet with the artist for the show. The artist doesn't know him at all. They find eachother very different but most parts similar. From their meeting the artist gets inspired by his original face. Coming to realize that even himself that he has given into the world he never wanted to.The two of them hit it off. Both dwelling into the matters of the "perfect" vessel. Asking the serious questions such as what makes a body, a face, a soul attractive? They go on for hours and it starts to inspire the artists work into his new resorted craftsmanship. The faceless impressed by the purposed questions and also work. The two of them grow closer resulted from talking so much about bodies and meaning. All the while testing out the new creations, body parts, and vessels capabilities. Not all though is good while the two develop this hoist. There's a villain at hand who one of the artist's main clients that goes unsuspected. They want to use the designs to create a vessel for the bad and wealth. Only to include to kill off all humans.The two of them hit it off. Both dwelling into the matters of the "perfect" vessel. The artist informs the robot that the hybrids (the children of the robot-species, generations of offspring) are the real threat to society. The one who hoists and is in charge of the power sorce is human and machine. The first of its kind, and also the previous mentor of the artist/ex-scientist. Who will get to the power source first. Our main dynamic couple or the robotic uprising that believe all humans should cease to exist once and for all?

The city was a work in process for a resort city, and a major violent storm came too early taking out some of the fancier parts of the island. Most of the higher end houses and mansions were believed to be damaged in the outer edges of the island. There had been a castle built as a main part of the hotel/resort. The island would be decided by the two head family of vampires one powerful family versus the other in over control if the current situation of resort in the actual tourist location.A rambunctious gang of young cryptics disguise themselves as human during the daytime but during the night it's quite the time to be alive and young. When men become mortal

An alien/robot/human species that survives by using different masks/chips for various occasions.

It's like buying different clothes but they adapt or transform the hoist for a month or less of another body/form/identity.

The main character experiences a technical difficulty where their head socket cannot adapt to a new face for long and has to get it repaired. Though along the way he seems to find that not wearing a false identity they actually enjoy seeing the outside world with no expectation of appearance.

The other is a identity artist, the one whom develops different faces and identity. He spends hours tweaking details of bodies and faces. He always has the nicest things because of his work and from important commissions and work for certain clients.

They meet at a gallery that the artist is hoisting at a museum. The individuals there are decorated like some of the model pieces and others artist curators-part sellers.

The faceless one decides to go to the museum to see what's or who's being showcased and since he has a little bit of extra money he saved up for the occasion. Everyone finds him interesting since he doesn't have an appearance, they think he's a model. Thus they send him to meet with the artist for the show.

The artist doesn't know him at all. They find eachother very different but most parts similar. From their meeting the artist gets inspired by his original face. Coming to realize that even himself that he has given into the world he never wanted to.

The two of them hit it off. Both dwelling into the matters of the "perfect" vessel. Asking the serious questions such as what makes a body, a face, a soul attractive? They go on for hours and it starts to inspire the artists work into his new resorted craftsmanship. The faceless impressed by the purposed questions and also work. The two of them grow closer resulted from talking so much about bodies and meaning. All the while testing out the new creations, body parts, and vessels capabilities.

Not all though is good while the two develop this hoist. There's a villain at hand who one of the artist's main clients that goes unsuspected. They want to use the designs to create a vessel for the bad and wealth. Only to include to kill off all humans.

Thus forces the artist to reveal his true identity. A human being. Not a hologram. Plus he's not just an artist but a ex-con scientist from the labs that have bloomed into a internalized war. Faceless becomes confused and also hurt that the artist to mention this. Only for the two of them being followed.

The artist informs the robot that the hybrids (the children of the robot-species, generations of offspring) are the real threat to society. The one who hoists and is in charge of the power sorce is human and machine. The first of its kind, and also the previous mentor of the artist/ex-scientist.

Who will get to the power source first. Our main dynamic couple or the robotic uprising that believe all humans should cease to exist once and for all?

so im thinking up a few options for myself:

local art market. it happens every second saturday downtown which is a great frequency i think. however i dont know the type of people attending so i dont know if my merch will sell well or at all, and i dont know if they even allow the type of stuff i sell. so this is an iffy one

finding book authors who need illustrations done. i can def do a childrens book illustration if i needed to but id like to find something within my current art style if possible. i'll have to look around and try and find places where ppl are looking for my type of work

sell at conventions. this one's a little tricky bc 1) i have to invest in my stock which is at LEAST $300 for everything i need, 2) im not guaranteed to get on the list of vendors, and 3) these happen very infrequently and i dont know if i can rely on this for steady income

self publish comics. i had thought of this before and i dont think im Currently fit for doing it bc i tend to burn out soooo easily (thats likely a problem with my workflow honestly. its fixable surely) but im hopefully about to get adderall prescribed to me so maybe it'll work out after all lol. unfortunately this isnt an overnight project either though, and i do need to make money Right Now

get into making either live2d vtuber models or 3d models for both vrchat and/or vtubers. i know i know, i cant charge 8k for my first models, but i can at least make a few hundred on a single model. this would be a new skill to learn but its totally possible. theres tutorials and i also vaguely know how to use blender so i can at least try this. i do have fun doing this stuff anyway. im just a lil worried about the level of detail that goes into live2d models, im not super used to detailed designs just yet but its something ive been wanting to put more time and work into, so..

bite the bullet and start putting more work into social media presence and advertising my commissions. i complain about how rough commission work is all the time yes. but genuinely i do enjoy doing commissions for a living. the ONLY reason i complain is because of the inconsistent/low income, and the only reason for That is because i dont have a huge following to the point of where my slots sell out regularly. im no sakimichan. but if i just put in a little more time and work into building a social media presence im sure things will look up in that regard. i just have to fuckin..do it

so ya. these all have pros and cons and im weighing them desperately LOL. if im being honest? im leaning towards three in particular: the vtuber models, building a better social media presence to up my commission demand, and selling at conventions. i can definitely do all three of course, but i have to figure out how to balance everything while learning to do the new things and get good at them. i have no idea how to wrangle social media. ive tried so many things and i keep falling out of it so so easily, its very hard. but fuck dude if 15 year olds on youtube can have 100k subscribers then what the hell am i doing LOL yknow?

The dromedaries of Sang He’s herd were amazed at Jeremy’s ability to keep up by maintaining a steady canter to their walking. They shifted the walking order to put the double colloquium at the center, where they could all hear. Most of what Sehang Shu was telling and responding to was material that was interesting but pretty well known to them.

What Jeremy was explaining about small unit military operations was both new and fascinating. Sehang Shu spoke for them all as she offered, “So that is how to advance against a superior force? I would not have expected that we would have any option but retreat.”

Nodding, Jeremy cantered alongside his friend and pointed out, “Retreat makes perfect sense sometimes. When you must, do not simply flee. A well done retreat in force makes it too costly for the enemy to follow. Another option often overlooked in active situations is harassment. That goes far beyond simply being irritating if properly done.”

The whole group nodded understanding.

The questions came thick and fast as they continued on toward Hong Wa. It was time for noon rice all too soon, as Jeremy counted it.

While they gathered about the stove, fixing the meal, Soree said softly, “You are an excellent teacher, Jeremy. The horses of Saddle Arabia could use your knowledge and skills.”

Daring Do acknowledged, “It is easy to see how you could be deserving of a Hurricane Fellowship, Jeremy. I have to say, though, that I am glad that you chose Antiquities instead.”

Sehang Shu nodded, “In only a few hours, I have learned more of these matters than in my whole life before this. I have lived in these deserts and faced these situations many times.” She shuddered a little, emotion getting the better of her as she went on, “I have lost too many friends to the ignorance of what you spoke of so clearly this morning.

“Jeremy, why are you crying?”

He looked up from his rice, vegetables and tea. “I am not used to this, Shu. My family never treated me with much respect at all. My older brother and sister both went to the Equestrian Military Academy. The family was proud of them, even if they did not qualify for the College.

“When I did, they tried to drive me unmercifully to be the best. No respect, though. Always called me dummy or stupid if I made any mistake at all. Never said anything of praise when I was right because if I was going to E.M. College, being right was expected. I hated it.”

To his surprise, Sehang Shu gave him a hug. “These are not bad tears, Jeremy. Let them out. Let the old venom flow out with them. We here, not only respect you, we are in your debit. You have saved lives yesterday and likely more this morning. Ignorance is the deadliest of enemies.”

Daring Do watched in thoughtful silence and then offered, “Jeremy, continue your colloquium of Ethnological Geography. I have been auditing your progress. If you continue to learn as well as what I have been hearing, I will correct your grade when we return to the Royal University.”

The party continued to work their way through the vast X'ibian Highlands toward the ancient and long abandoned Imperial Capital city of Hong Wa.

Cresting a low pass in a sharp sided defile of stone, they got their first view of their goal. Jeremy took one look and dived for cover. Without waiting to ask why, the whole party went for shelter.

Some days previous, in Cantrot, the partners examined what their 385 gold cash had bought in the way of repairs.

Robber philosophically observed, “At least both trucks are now fully operational and all systems required by law are working correctly.”

Tyranny snarled, “Why didn’t they fix that door?”

Overthrow retorted, “You know why! Besides insulting the Shop Master, you got it hit by a water buffalo! They had no parts that would fit! At least it is secure and weather tight!”

“Drat it, Overthrow, all that I did was bribe the Shop Master to put our trucks ahead of those other vehicles! Mere farm working things!”

Robber shook his head sadly, “That is not how bribes here work, Tyranny. I have explained that to you before. They are to the person as a recognition of his importance to you. They are NEVER to get your work or things put ahead of other work. We had already taken care of the problem and had only to wait our turn until you breached all social etiquette here by trying to get him to rearrange his shop schedules for us.”

Overthrow, trying to get a developing argument derailed, inquired with real interest, “How are the ancient X'ibian translations going, Tyranny?”

Frustrated, he snapped, “I can find NOTHING about the Heart of Discord, no matter how old the manuscript! I have found some that date to the reign of Im Farst and the Dragon Queen, but NOTHING about the Heart of Discord!

“We have OLDER references to it in Old Middle Equestrian from shortly after the Nightmare Wars than any from here!”

While mulling that over, they got into the trucks. Overthrow grunted sourly, “I wish that our drivers had not abandoned us. At least the desert should not offer much difficulty to our travel!”

Robber, mounting the driver’s seat of his truck, replied, “All that we need is to take the cross river barge and we will be headed to Hong Wa.”

He shoved Tyranny into the back of the cab. “Just stay there and let us deal with the barge. The last thing that we need is you sticking a hoof up the rump of our passage!”

Sullen, Tyranny settled back and busied himself pretending to study old manuscripts.

Cantrot was covered by the dust raised by the trucks heading out into the desert. Tyranny watched from the passenger seat of the lead truck as they came to the end of the road that they had been following.

“I thought that you said that this was the way to Hong Wa, Robber! This is the end of the road. Where is Hong Wa?”

Robber shrugged, his frustration with Tyranny utterly expressive of total contempt. “Sometimes I wonder if you listen to anything but your own voice, Tyranny.

“I said that this road will take us closest to Hong Wa! From here on, we will be driving across the desert. I do have good maps.”

Robber got out and began to scout the best way for the trucks to leave the road’s end.

Overthrow joined him. “Tyranny has gone completely mad, Overthrow. He seems to think that there is a regular road going to a city abandoned a thousand years ago. After I got it into his head that there was no road, he spouted garbage about just driving across the desert at night, steering by the stars! He seems to think that the desert is FLAT!”

Overthrow nodded glumly. “Last meal break he told me to be watching out for the dust of Daring Do’s expedition. I tried to tell him that they are taking an ancient dromedary route, completely different from ours.

“I tried to cash a credit letter in Cantrot before we left. It was refused. The firm’s capital is gone. If this plan does not work, we do not have enough money to get home.”

Robber stopped, stunned. “Broke? What has happened to it?”

Overthrow aimed a hoof at the truck with Tyranny in it. “He did. Those new manuscripts that he has been studying? Over two million golden bits by themselves. Add in our expedition costs, which are simply enormous, and there is not enough capital left to even pay the staff at home.”

Robber accepted the news glumly. “Look, a vulture circling up there! Not an omen, I hope!”

Both chuckled at the feeble jest. After locating the best way to get the trucks off the road, they returned to the vehicles and backed down the road to the chosen spot. They bumped and bounced across the margin and set out, following landmarks shown on Robber’s map.

Tyranny was fretting, “We are going too slow! We need to be swift! We must get there first!”

Robber, as they hit a big bump, slamming Tyranny’s head to the ceiling, replied offhandedly, “Why? If Daring Do gets there first, we let her find the tomb and do the heavy digging for us.

“If we get there first, we can still use HER and her cohorts to do the digging for us. That tomb is not in any of the fourteen necropoli shown in the site map. Only she knows where it is, so we will let her find it for us.”

He waited, grinning that Tyranny had not fastened his safety harness, and deliberately hit another series of bumps, jouncing Tyranny about like a dried pea in a can. “Are you sure that we need to go faster? We are already making over four times the best walking pace of a dromedary. We are nearly certain to be there first, ready and waiting for Daring Do’s expedition to show itself.”

Jeremy signaled for them all to keep their heads down and retreat back into the pass. When they were all safely back, he recovered his hooves and led them further back yet. Satisfied, he told them all, “Wait here until I get back.”

He rummaged a pair of binoculars out of his saddle bag and sneaked back, going from cover to cover. Watching him go, Soree made a few swift sketches and many notes.

She observed, “I think that Jeremy believes that somepony is there before us.”

Daring Do nodded and offered, “Any bets about WHO it might be?” Silence greeted her offer. “I thought not.”

Jeremy returned silently. “ROT got here first, with two trucks. There seem to only be three of them, all Equestrians by the look of them. Our problem is simple.

“They have a pair of obsolete MT81 quick fire guns and what appears to be two ammo cases for them.

“Those guns nearly caused the overthrow the Empress of the Gryphon Empire back during their Civil War, years ago. Luckily for us, Doctor Do gave you those new semi automatic rifles. The 81s still have the range on us and may have either solid or explosive rounds.

“Doctor Do, how accurate is your map of this area?”

“Perhaps main features could be off by as much as two meters. Nothing worse. Is it good enough?”

Jeremy nodded and gestured them close to study the map, remarking, “A good map is more deadly than a cannon.

“See this tongue of rock going down into the valley of Hong Wa? If we can get behind it, they will not see our advance if we are careful. From here on, we will be in rifle range of the guns. Do not worry about the ponies. We need to stop those guns. Out in the open like that, their ammo cases are a weakness.”

Corba Jai suggested, “I have been from this pass to the blind canyon the leads to that ridge of stone. I scouted it for Doctor Do during the search for cave burials.”

Jeremy nodded acceptance at once. “That is good, Corba Jai. Would you please guide us all through to it?”

Nodding silently, Corba Jai led them further back up the defile. She pointed to a steep but climbable slope. “We need to go up here. Bear to the right of that rock needle. Getting down into the canyon will not be easy either but we can do it.”

Halloween season is upon us! That means a brand new commissions post out into the public!

I would’ve waited until October to open these but my cat got sick ( more details on that under the cut ) and I need to start earning funds as soon as I can. Please read at least up until the pricing specifications before commissioning me. If you’d rather donate than to commission me, you can find donation methods below!

Since my last commissions post, I’ve changed the way I price things. It’s to tackle both the transaction fee but also to make it both easier for me and for you to get the total cost. Therefore, you will not have to pay the transaction fee as it is part of the purchase.

The base price is the minimum you will have to pay. It will never go below that amount but is free to go higher up until the price limit. I will never charge you above the price limit that I have set. This is to give me the flexibility to charge fairly for my work without overpricing you in the process.

Small doodles;

Base price -> $3 Price limit -> $6

A limit of two characters, bust sketch with colour. Payment is done first and may take a day or two to be complete.

Matching icons;

Base price -> $5 Price limit -> $20

Lineart and in full colour. Shading can be added on request at a small additional fee ( typically by $1-2 ). One character per icon. An additional matching icon can be added up to a total of 4 matching icons. If the price is divisible by 2, half payment up front then the other half after a sketch has been completed. May take three to four days to complete.

Waist-up piece;

Base price -> $15 Price limit -> $60

Lineart and full colour. Shading can be added on request at a small additional fee ( anywhere within the range of $2-4 ). Additional characters can be added up to five characters in a single piece. Half of the payment is done up front, the other half to be paid after a sketch proof has been completed. May take four to five days to complete.

MY CAT’S CONDITION

I have a cat named Peebs; if you’ve ever talked to me, you’d know I loved her very much and that she means a lot to me. In late June or early July, she went missing. At the time, she was showing the earlier signs of mange but I didn’t quite know that. After that time, I had to leave my home for a month. Not knowing where she was, I had feared the worst. Luckily, a neighbour found her and took her to the vet. In late August, early September, I was informed she had a very bad case of mange and is also now anaemic.

Among that, she has to be treated for worms and housing fees at the vet; she’s too sick to be outside just yet.

Currently, her first treatments of medication are being paid for by donations from the neighbours. However, sometime in late September, funds will begin to slow for her. Her medication costs are fairly expensive and I don’t have the money to pay for her when they do. The currency I will use is RM ( Malaysian Ringgit ), making donations and payments in American Dollars ( the currency I use for my commissions ) very easy to raise money for her.

A week’s worth of medication is somewhere around RM1099. 1 dollar is equal to RM4, meaning I would need to earn about $274 for one week alone. The vet told me that it’ll be a while before she will be well enough to come home so I am shooting for two month’s worth of medication for her. I’m not sure if that will be enough but, for the time being, I don’t want to shoot for a goal that’s way too high.

This brings my total to about $2740, or RM10960.

Coming out

The ending of this edulcorated Chargestep nightmare fluff I’m writing, The plan is revealed and the farm confronted with it’s greatest enemy so far.

Also, Ricardo Ortega and Sidestep go for their dinner date, following up from the last fic (Supersize me).

The waiter leaves after taking your orders The place is actually fancy. It's one of Los Diablos finest restaurants.

You can't help feeling foreign here. You were always faded in the background whenever you had to be in places like this.

And you can hear their thoughts. People wondering who's the guy in Charge's table. There’s curiosity and even a hint of jealousy.

You shift uncomfortably in your seat... And he takes your hand with his. You tremble as you hear the collective mental gasp of everyone looking at you two.

"Would you stop thinking about them and look at me?" He asks. You force yourself to look up. There's his stupid smile... the big eyes... And then he makes it even worse. He presses your fingers in his hand and speaks.

"You know, you're looking so fucking hot right now... I should have done this a long time ago. Just show you how I see you."

"You... really like this?" You say motioning to your own self. You had no trouble believing he liked you in costume, after all, you were always proud of your skills. But here, in plain clothing is another story.

"Yes, dumbass, I like you. How many times do I have to tell you?. We kissed like ... so many times. What else do I have to do to convince you?"

He takes a sip of wine before going on.

"You know, sometimes it's EXHAUSTING to endure how dense you can be."

"Alright, alright... no need to rub it in my face, I get it" you say looking away.

"No, I don't think you do! I've been throwing curve-balls at you for about a decade and not ONCE did you pick them up except for the AWKWARD moments."

"Well..."

"I started to think I just wasn't your type"

"No! THat's not it... I mean..."

"AM I, OR AM I NOT YOUR TYPE CYRUS?" he asks raising his tone. "BECAUSE IM STILL WONDERING RIGHT NOW."

"OF COURSE YOU ARE MY TYPE!" You burst out. And then you lower your volume since everyone can hear you "From when we started training together... I had to make an effort not to look at you all the time and..."

"Uhu... I see. Go on" he cues you to continue

And then you can't stop. You tell him stuff you hadn't even remembered until now. About how you hated it when he was with someone else. About how confused you were after he kissed you at the party. About the fight with Psycopathor and the dreams, you had after he saved you. About calendars that you had hidden in your apartment when Anathema bought them for you as a joke. You go into even some very embarrassing stuff, like when he carried you out so many times. You confess about using Steel's hostility as a tool to keep him away and protect your secret.

"Oh. I see... Tell me more" he says with an absent look.

And then you go on about how you love his smile... his eyes.. his arms and...

And then you choke when you realize the intensity of his gaze. Like he's going to devour you alive.

He's been enjoying this from the start. Watching you agonize and talk on and on about how you thirst for him.

The two of you don't finish your meals, pay early and head home. Home. You would have said "His place" not too long ago. You stumble with the keys and they fall down from your hands. He takes them from the floor and opens the lock.

The moment you enter he pushes you onto the wall and kisses you like a wild animal. And you have basically lost all self-control by this moment.

He starts taking (ripping) off your clothing.

"How many ... layers??" he asks frustrated... until he gets to the last nanomesh. And then he notices the panicked expression.

"I've thought this through," he says, pulling you towards the bedroom. He just pushes you on the bed, and you collapse there, moving on your back towards the center.

He leaves the room briefly... returning with something in his hand, hoping in, landing by your left side.

He opens his hand. A blindfold.

Ricardo puts it on over his forehead.

"Will this do?" he asks You nod, surprised. He lowers the blindfold over his eyes.

"Now take that thing off"

And you both do...

He climbs on on top of you. Kissing you... feeling you.

It's not triggering your alarms. You know him. And don't feel threatened.

"Hey... stop... stop," you say.

He freezes immediately. "W.. what did I do?" he asks

"Nothing... just... " you extend a hand and remove his blindfold.

"But then you'll..."

"I think I can handle it?... Just... go slow please"

He gives you the widest smile.

--------Several days later-----------

Brushing your mind against his, you find an entrance and take hold, firmly. The senator is asleep, you can't work like this. You take his body and make him take a few steps. You need to wake him to access his thoughts... not to control a zombie.

You find them. And you do what you've done dozens of times already. Set his fixation ready, burning white hot in intensity, for the time when the signal is given.

And then you free him, making him think he just sleep-walked a bit. Float like a ghost, back to your own body.

The return is brutal. You hadn't possessed that many people in succession since... ever. This is new territory.

And possessing people is not your only activity these days...

Ricardo finally confessed to you that he couldn't keep up a few nights ago. That he's not that young anymore. You saw the failure in his eyes. Mission accomplished you said, trying not to tease him too hard.

You've lost several pounds from this.

Your body is a wreck, but you are at the top of the world. Having Ortega for yourself and destroying your enemies have quickly become your two favorite activities and now you do them together, daily.

The routine goes on for about two months until all the pieces are in place.

And then Charge casually talks with the first domino piece and gives him his verbal trigger command.

The retired scientist goes to the media, whistleblowing on the farm's human rights violations. He dies on an accident shortly after.

He is followed by a senator, a decorated general, and two low-tier bureaucrats. One of them is imprisoned on drug charges. The two other die and the fourth has a mental breakdown.

Ten other witnesses go public to the media immediately after, revealing droves of information. As one of them dies, the FBI reveals it had begun an investigation on the killings.

Dozens more witnesses come trough, and the scandal reaches national levels. You've mind-controlled about a hundred and fifty in total, changing their minds into scandal timebombs. And you commanded them to seek others, and get more evidence as well.

Soon enough the killing stop, and the Special Directive, unmasked, becomes a pariah among government agencies. Senate commissions and federal investigations fall upon them like birds of prey. It's director removed and in custody.

"Good morning Los Diablos! We are joined on studio here by Charge, here for an interview about...

You sit awkwardly behind the cameras. Waiting for your cue... at any moment he will ... There.

"I have some important personnel announcements to make" Ortega interrupts her

"Oh? Personal you say?"

"Yes, Mia. I'm very proud and happy to introduce everyone to... My boyfriend, Cyrus Basri. Yes, I'm coming out!" he says motioning for you to come forward.

You've been seen together in enough public spots to have people question your relationship. A ton of photos of you together will surely surgeon the media within minutes.

You force your legs to get you in front of the camera because if this goes wrong, you might actually not live to tell the tale. This is the most critical part of the plan. All up to you.

She asks you questions. You answer them. You are his boyfriend. You love him. No, you are not yet engaged. When you tell them you've known him for more than 10 years, they wonder who you are.

They go back to Ricardo.

"So we're coming out," he says holding your hand, giving you the confidence you still lack. "But that's not all. We have one more revelation to make" he ends looking at you.

You take the longest breath of your existence. And speak to the country.

"My Name is Cyrus Basri. I used to defend the city as the Hero Sidestep. I stopped the Nanosurge. I fought against Heartbreak... And..." you pause. Not because you are terrified, but for drama. They made you an actor after all. "And seven years ago, I was kidnaped by the Prime Directive. I was abused, beaten, drugged and experimented upon. My humanity was denied, and I was subjected to the most heinous experiment ever devised. I am a victim and a survivor of the Special Directive" you say removing your shirt before the cameras for all to see.

Everyone goes silent as the final bomb explodes.

You cry on live tv. Ricardo holds you. The audience gasps. You make sure to make all of their reactions are positive and supportive. You're surprised it would have been that way even without your power.

Mia is shocked but instantly begins asking questions. More reporters show up. You answer each and every one. You break up several times, showing yourself even more vulnerable than you actually are.

You tell the Truth. You reveal the connection between the Directive And Heartbreak.

And then you also lie. You accuse the Directive of all sorts of despicable things that your witnesses have fabricated evidence about. Ortega backs you up. You couldn't ask for a finer wingman.

As the show finally ends, federal investigators come to talk to you. Then, finally, after you've gone with half of their questions, a high ranking official from the White House shows up to talk to you.

You demand Ortega be present and he sits by your side.

After a few words, he offers you a deal. You look at Ortega, and he finally nods.

You shake hands.

By the end of the day, you are truly Cyrus Basri, with a birth certificate, and social security number, a driver's license, and a bank account full of stolen money that now legally belongs to you.

Your past is erased. You're no longer a regene, but a civilian victim who was manipulated, enslaved and experimented upon by a rogue organization.

And most other regenes will get similar deals. They'll never admit they created life. Fine by you.

Your problems fixed within hours.

And now you are Ricardo's official gay boyfriend. That is new...

The rangers reactions were shocked as you said your goodbyes.

Chen was tearing himself apart. "YOU WERE GAY?" he repeats over and over talking to you and Ortega. Herald can't stop telling you how proud he is about you coming out like that. And Argent is maybe not your closest friend but she's beaming for Ortega and you being a thing.

You flee the country together a few days later to avoid the rest of the media storm.

Private cruise through the Caribbean. You go on false names. It's part of your deal. To spend a whole year outside the media's reach.

And they know you can do that.

Because you beat the odds.

You are the cuckoo who became a real boy.
