"...I STARTED WEARING THE IRON CROSS IN THE CULT BECAUSE I WAS INFLUENCED BY THE LOOK OF THE ASHETON BROTHERS..."
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on Billy Duffy's original German Army WWII "Iron Cross" that featured extensively in the photoshoot's for the "Love" album.
OVERVIEW: “Around 1982 I worked on a stall in Kensington Market, London that sold vintage military clothing and memorabilia and I picked up this old German medal there. I’d always had an interest in war history, as does Ian, but I started wearing the Iron Cross in The Cult because I was influenced by the look of the Asheton Brothers on the sleeve of the classic debut album from THE STOOGES. It was part of my psychedelic biker look that also included hippy beads with a peace sign, the Triumph Motorcycle belt buckle, leather pants and the paisley shirts.”
-- BILLY DUFFY (English rock musician/ CULT guitarist), c. January 2013

But The Wind Rises declines to challenge mainstream Japanese society’s distortions and denials of its wartime atrocities. Worse, it echoes Japan’s morally dishonest stance that it was a victim, rather than a perpetrator, of a global war — a whitewashed version of history that the film now imports to every country where it plays. Consider the first scene. Jiro is a young boy; in his dreams, he heads for the skies in a wooden aircraft. A constellation of black dots appears above him, soon revealed to be a hangar’s worth of missiles and bombs. They dangle from a zeppelin embossed with the Iron Cross. The explosives fall on Jiro, reducing his plane to splinters. The rest of the film is suffused with this fear of German aggression, and it’s an ethically mendacious choice of a bogeyman on Miyazaki’s part. In The Wind Rises, the alliance between Germany and Japan — the original Axis of Evil — is conveniently forgotten, as scene after scene shows the Japanese bombarded by Teutonic suspicion, condescension, and hostility. Reframing the Japanese as the victims of Nazi racism deflects attention from the heinousness of the Japanese Imperial Army. But Miyazaki’s elevation of his own countrymen as morally loftier to the Nazis is only credible when the viewer forgets (or is unaware) that the Japanese military justified killing 30 million people across Asia with its own ideology of ethnic superiority. The Wind Rises continues this blame evasion throughout, evincing an ideal of pacifism while positioning Japan as the target of Chinese and American assault. We see Japanese planes downed by a Chinese foe in a mid-film reverie — a shockingly insensitive image given that Japan was invading China during this time, not the other way around. Later, an American bomber floats above a graveyard of burned-out aircraft over the defeated Japanese empire. In contrast, no Japanese pilot is ever seen shooting at an enemy, even though Jiro’s most famous invention, the Zero plane, was designed and used solely for military purposes. The consequences of his work — that is, corpses — are likewise absent. In the film, Jiro never expresses sympathy for the people his people killed. His grief is strictly reserved for the deaths of his planes. His preference to mourn his Zeros, rather than the planes’ victims, illustrates his soft-handed callousness. The bloodlessness of the film contributes to its whitewashing of an incredibly bloody history. No surprise, then, that The Wind Rises has already created an uproar among South Koreans (who haven't yet seen the film),  arguably the biggest recipients of Japan’s 40-year colonial cruelty (1905-1945). The Wind Rises’ specious pose of self-victimization will and should disgust the living survivors and their descendants in the myriad other countries Japan invaded during World War II: China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia; the list goes on. It’s hard to believe that, were The Wind Rises set in an interwar Germany and focused on an idealistic dreamer who just wanted to design the world’s most beautiful U-boat and didn’t care a whit about the concentration camps, it would receive a similarly adoring reception here in the U.S. (At the time of writing, the film enjoys a 82 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has appeared on several best-of-year lists.) One would hope that critics who aren’t suffering from Japan’s culture of mass delusion about its war crimes would take into consideration the warped version of history Miyazaki has to accommodate and, to a large extent, perpetuates.

The way you draw Germany is *chefs kiss* 🤌
Thank you! 🥴🤌
I'll use this as an opportunity to formally introduce my headcanon Germany + his (old) reference sheet. Same character, modified design. Germany's canon uniform is simplified for the purpose of animation, and that's fine, but as a fashion-history lover I wanted to reimagine what he would look like if Hetalia was historically accurate.
❗️This is the same uniform! Germany is canonically in the Wehrmacht Heer. My Germany is still in the Wehrmacht Heer, his uniform is just more accurate.❗️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are all the same uniform. APH Germany is in the Nazi German army. He wears a Nazi uniform in the anime and manga.
Notes
Short, parted hair styles were popular during this time period and my Germany's hair style is modeled after Wehrmacht soldiers.
The colour of the uniform Germany is wearing is called feldgrau. Real Heer uniforms are grayish green as compared to the canon Germany's forest green uniform.
For the average Wehrmacht officer, Iron Crosses may only be worn during holidays or special events. This is why in one picture Germany can be shown with an Iron Cross below his neck while in the other, you can only see its ribbon. This is meant to demonstrate how he would appear during, for example, an awards ceremony versus everyday wear. This was a common technique used by many officers to show that they had recieved the distinction without breaking military decorum.

1930: Hitler assumed the position of Oberste SA (supreme leader), entrusting the position of military commander (Stabschef) of the SA to Ernst Röhm
1930: the Nazi Party suddenly rose from obscurity and gained over 18% of the vote and 107 seats in the Reichstag, making it the second largest political force in Germany
1931: His niece Geli (they were supposedly having an affair) commits suicide.
1932: the Nazis achieved their best result, winning 230 seats and becoming the party with a relative majority; Thanks to this victory, Hitler also managed to finally obtain German citizenship.
1933: He was appointed Chancellor of Germany
1933: Using the pretext of the Reichstag fire, Hitler issued the "Reichstag fire decree" on 28 February 1933, less than a month after taking office. The decree suppressed most of the civil rights guaranteed by the 1919 constitution of the Weimar Republic in the name of national security.
1933: Dachau concentration camp opens its doors
1934: After Hindernburg's death, Hitler, who was the Chancellor, could not also become President of the Reich (head of State), created a new position for himself, that of Führer, which in practice allowed him to combine the two roles. He was Führer und Reichskanzler (Reich leader and chancellor). From 1934 until his death there was no Reich President in Germany.
1935: The Nuremberg Laws were proclaimed
1935: he had to have a polyp removed from his throat, which led to relapses later
1935: Hitler repudiated the Treaty of Versailles, reintroducing conscription in Germany.
1936: Hitler violated the treaty of Versailles again by occupying the Rhineland demilitarized zone.
1936: when the Spanish civil war broke out, Hitler sent troops to help Francisco Franco's rebels
1936: On Goebbels' idea, Hitler hosted the 11th Olympiad in Berlin

1937: Hitler held a secret meeting in the Reich Chancellery, in which he declared his plans for the acquisition of "living space" for the German people.
1938: With a plebiscite Austria joined Germany (the so-called Anschluss) and Hitler, who thus laid the foundations of Greater Germany, made a triumphal entry into Vienna
1938: This led to the Munich Agreement of September 1938 in which the United Kingdom and France, with the mediation of Mussolini, weakly gave in to his demands to avoid war, thus "sacrificing" Czechoslovakia, which was occupied.
1939: The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is signed.
1939: The Germans enter Prague, occupying Czechoslovakia.
1939: The military alliance with Fascist Italy known as the Pact of Steel takes shape.

Rating movies about nazi germany I have watched
First of all, I want to make it clear that this isn't a professional review, it's only my opinion
Tumblr media
I liked the proposal of the story being centered around a nazi family and the younger boy befriending a jew, but all of that goes down the drain due to the multiple historical inaccuracies: the children learned about nazism very early, so there is no way bruno would have been that innocent. Also, concentration camps wasn't of that much easy access. The appeal to emotion instead of actually building a deep plot also sucks. 5/10
Tumblr media
I absolutely adored this movie, the plot is so deep, the construction around the persecution of Liesel's parents, her relationship with her adoptive parents, the brotherhood she had with the jew hiding in their house, her tough but sweet personality, her desire for knowledge. It was all so beautifully orchestrated, and also the historical accuracy>>>>>> 10/10
Tumblr media
This movie will always be a classic for me. The way they portrayed nazis as they were, human, vulnerable, with a distorted view of the world but still seeking what they thought was the best. How they went deep down into the life in the bunker, the despair and hopelessness they felt. Also, the way they portrayed Eva Braun>>>> how she tried to sugarcoat everything not to suffer, how she threw parties in the hallway of death, how even in a desperate situation the greatest joy of her life was to marry the terrible man she fell in love with and was blindly loyal too. Everything is so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Also, the historical accuracy is just a delight. 1000/10
Tumblr media
This is a true punch in the gut. The terrible way he lost his family, the inhuman life he lived in the guetto, his part in the warsaw guetto riot, how he kept his beautiful talent immaculate till the end, when he lost the love of his life and had to see her married, the hunger, mistreating and fear that were a part of his daily life, his brave survival. Everything about this movie is truly sad. 9/10
Tumblr media
I won't even talk much about this one. I start it laughing and finished it on the verge of crying. It is funny, heartbreaking, the perfect mix between comedy and tragedy, the true definition of bittersweetness. 100/10
Tumblr media
Following the same road of the last one, there's this piece of art. It had everything to go wrong, but it went beautifully. They made something outrageous turn out funny without being offensive, and yet made a deep, tragic and beautiful story. The underlying romance between that ex-soldier and his assistant, the way jojo changed his mentality gradually, and his absurd view of hitler. It was surprisingly very historically accurate, but Im still confused about: how was jojo not sent to an orphanage after his mother died? How did he survive on his own? Anyways, this was a negative point for me, but still love it. 50/10
Tumblr media
Okay, I absolutely love this one, but hate to death how they slipped over such simple aspects, like Hitler's personality. They made him hit a dog when in fact he defended animal's rights, they made him not give a shit about his mom being ill when in fact he loved her dearly. They changed his personality to make him seem even more evil. But, I also have plenty of positive points to talk about. I rarely see movies portraying Hitler's early life the way this one did, and how he ascended gradually to power. I love this miniseries deeply for getting into details about his whole life. They even aborded his abusive relationship with his niece. I can almost forgive the outrageous innacuracy with the characters and the altering of some details (how he earned his iron cross, how he met eva braun, how he treated fuschl), and I love it despite its defects. It also has some iconic scene: the bar fight, the munich beer hall putch, the trial. I wish I could give a 1000/10, but because of its innacuracies im giving it a 500/10
Tumblr media
Nazis getting brutally slaughtered. Do I really have to say anything else? Also, Hans Landa>>>>>>>> ∞/10

it's only been a month and we've already spotted two(2) fascists(one a zionist, one a nazi) in this fandom who try to get by making an "Israel Chan" OC with AI to do the dirty work and make art for this person because apparently they couldn't be bothered to draw instead of using a system well known for stealing from artists online, shipping it with Germany(???), getting pissed because they said they shipped their OC with Hungary on the hetalia subreddit causing the OP of the post abt Hungary as a character blocking said fascist due to discomfort, which results in them deciding to make their own subreddit??? as they continue to rant and rave abt the fandom being "antisemitic towards them" for hating them in posts with multiple fonts and sizes like they're stuck in a steel room for days with nothing but a padlock diary and a box of crayons. bonus deal because they're also actively transphobic and race fetishizing on their twt acc.
(helpful tip: the reason why we're mad is because you support a genocidal(pushing out, killing palestinians, so much more horrifying things), settler colonial regime's existence! not because you're jewish!)
and then on the other hand you have someone hiding under the guise of "I love drawing historical art and fashion of specifically Germany and Austria during this specific period of time!" and drawing both with the iron cross on their uniforms for "historical accuracy," with their pfp being a german soldier from a specific time period...
what a fandom lolol

The Lebensborn project was as a breeding program for the Aryan race, launched by Himmler towards the end of 1935. The goal of the project was to raise the birth rate of so-called Aryan children that were born to those classified as “racially pure and healthy.” Typically, the father would be a member of the SS and the mothers would be approved based on their ability to prove Aryan origins going back to 1750. The Cross of Honour of the German Mother was given to whichever woman bore the most Aryan children.
As Nazis matched through Europe and Scandinavia, the program began in occupied countries. There were maternity clinics established throughout Europe. The children born in these clinics would then be given up by their mothers and then subsequently belonged to the Nazi state. Moreover, young children with Aryan-like features would be Kidnapped and brought back to Germany where they would be fostered by German families.
According to Nazi-ideology, the ideal Aryan was blonde-haired, blue-eyed ad tall. Ironically, the antithesis of both Hitler and Himmler.

The Night Witches
They didn’t even have parachutes.
The “Night Witches” were a regiment of daring female fighter pilots in the Soviet military who played a crucial role in the Allied victory against Nazi Germany.
The unit was formed by Marina Raskova, aka the “Soviet Amelia Earhart.” Maria was the first female navigator in the Soviet Air Force and held many long-distance flight records. She traveled all over the USSR and everywhere she went, she was approached by women who wanted to fight Nazis. Watching the German aggressors kill their brothers and husbands and destroy their homes and villages made these brave Russian women want to do more for their country than knit sweaters. They were determined to fight.
Marina used her personal contacts to get a message to dictator Joseph Stalin, asking for permission to form a women’s fighting battalion. Stalin immediately issued orders to deploy three all-female air force units and create the all-female 588th Night Bomber Regiment. The women’s mission would not be to drop bombs, but only to return fire. The Soviet Union was the first country to allow women on the front lines of battle.
As soon as the new plan was announced, thousands of women submitted applications for 1200 positions – four hundred for each of the three units. The women ranged in age from 17 to 26, and were mostly students. Those selected for this dangerous job moved to Engels, a small town near Stalingrad, to train at the Engels School of Aviation. There was no time to spare and the women learned in a few months what most airmen take several years to understand. Each woman had to be trained and fully prepared to fill four roles: pilot, navigator, maintenance, and ground crew. They faced mockery and harassment from male soldiers and officers.
The women of the 588th received bargain bin equipment. The military had to outfit them on the sly, giving them hand-me-down male uniforms to wear, including boots that were so large they had to stuff them with rags. Their planes were primitive 20 year old crop dusters made of wood and canvas, providing no shelter from the harsh elements. Flying at night in the Soviet winter, the female aviators endured sub-zero temperatures, fierce winds, and even frostbite. The planes were too light to carry parachutes, radar detectors, radios, or guns. Instead they navigated with low-tech items such as maps, compasses, flashlights, watches, rulers, and pencils – which doubled as eyeliners. They were fierce fighters, but they found ways to add a feminine touch, wearing makeup and putting flowers in their planes.
Each plane could only carry two bombs at a time, one under each wing. Every night, the regiment sent out 40 two-person crews. They flew 8-18 missions each night. The flimsy planes struggled under the heavy load of bombs, and they had to fly at very low altitudes, making them easy to shoot down. This danger is why the 588th Regiment flew only at night.
Each unit had a nightly routine – the first plane would go in as bait to attract German spotlights, which illuminated the path for the other planes. The next plane would release a flare to light up the target. Then the last plane came in, idled its engine and swooped in silently for the kill. Germans called them Nachthexen (night witches) because the whooshing sound their primitive wooden planes made sounded like a sweeping broom. This eerie sound was the only warning Germans had that the fearless women of the 588th were about to attack; the planes were too small to show up on radar.
The Nazis were so threatened by the Night Witches that any German soldier who killed one was automatically awarded the prestigious Iron Cross.
The fearless Night Witches flew over 30,000 missions over the next four years, dropping 23,000 tons of bombs on advancing German armies. They lost 32 pilots including sadly Marina Raskova. She died on January 4, 1943 when her plane was shot down heading to the front line. She received the first state funeral of World War II and her ashes are buried in the Kremlin. Twenty-four of the fliers were honored as “Hero of the Soviet Union.”
For flying into battle with primitive equipment to defeat the Germans, we honor the 1200 brave women of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, led by  as this week’s Thursday Heroes.

Significant aspect of Steve being Irish-Catholic:
As well as having branches of the Nazi party (ie. the German-American Bund), the Brooklyn of Steve’s day also had a big problem of antisemitism amongst the local Irish-Catholic population.
.
Examples:
There was a Canadian-American Catholic priest and demagogue named Charles Coughlin, who received indirect funding from the Nazi party. Up until 1939 'Father Coughlin’ had both a regular right-wing talkradio programme, and a matching newspaper (ironically called Social Justice), broadcasting pro-fascist, anti-communist, virulently antisemitic diatribes. (He was the inspiration for the character Brother Justin Crowe in the show Carnivale.)
In New York, Coughlin’s writings prompted the creation of an antisemitic organisation called the Christian Front, which held public rallies on the intersecting corners of Jewish/Irish neighborhoods in Brooklyn, with the specific intention of drumming up conflict. And just as in Nazi Germany, this indoctrination started young: there were Hitler Youth summer camps in both New York and New Jersey.
In wider pop culture, the most successful broadway play for a long time was Abie’s Irish Rose, a “schmaltzy interfaith romantic comedy" about the conflict between a Jewish family and Irish-Catholic family when a Jewish boy marries an Irish girl (so, that generation’s equivalent of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.) It was so successful that it was mentioned in the lyrics to songs of other broadway shows, spawned a long-running series of tie-in movies, and had its own radio show.
Similarly, the musical West Side Story was originally titled ‘East Side Story’ and was about a star-crossed Jewish/Irish-Catholic couple in the Lower East Side of Manhattan (where Jack Kirby lived, and Cap too, before he was later moved to Brooklyn. Those other kids Jack Kirby grew up fighting? Probably Irish-Catholic.)
This is also why, when Jewish writer Norman Lear came to rip off UK sitcom Till Death Us Do Part to make US sitcom All in the Family, in the 1970s, his choice to play the role of the bigoted father -- even though he was inspired by his own, bigoted Jewish father -- was an Irish actor whose face “screams ‘Irish.’ (Lear kept being encouraged to use that and make the character Irish-Catholic in the show, but he refused.)
.
Context:
That rise in Irish-Catholic antisemitism originated with the Fascist conflation of Jews with Bolshevism, and of Communism with the persecution of Christians.
(All this while Russian-Jewish immigrants to NYC were moving into traditionally Irish-Catholic areas, competing for jobs and housing, and their success was resented.)
This also tied into the Spanish Civil War, when Russian and Communist Front groups in America aided the Loyalist forces instead of the Fascists (the Abraham Lincoln Battalion, for example, was made up of American volunteers who fought for the Loyalists, and was 25% Jewish).
In New York, the fact that the Communist party membership was mainly Jewish was treated as proof that all Jews were Communist, (and therefore enemies of Catholics), even though the majority of Jews in New York were not Communists.
In fact, it was more the case that Jews were drawn to what they perceived as progressivism -- grounded in a history of discrimination -- and since they saw Fascism as their chief threat, they were more likely to accept Communists as allies in the fight against it (just as Catholics were more likely to ally with Fascists against Communism).
Amongst American Catholics there was also distrust of FDR's liberal New Deal policies, regarded as a wave of Communism sweeping the country, since the government’s helping of the poor post-Depression was seen as a deliberate infringement upon what was traditionally the territory of the Catholic Church. (I kid you not.)
And then, since Ireland was a neutral country, the Irish-Catholics in New York were able to continue to espouse such views during the war. Unlike them, the Germans and Italians suddenly became more circumspect (as they had during WWI), for fear of appearing to support America’s enemies, and suffering reprisals as a result.
And all this was not helped by the fact that the Pope shared this view of Communism, and collaborated with Hitler on the Reich Concordat, an authoritarian pact wherein the Vatican vowed to forbid Catholics in Fascist Germany from interfering in politics.
All of which is to say:
It’s a BIG DEAL for Steve’s Jewish creators to make Steve Irish-Catholic.
It means that, on top of being a Nazi’s worst nightmare (disabled, blonde, blue-eyed, turned into a supersoldier and yet still antifa), and fighting Bundists, Silver Shirts and ANP members, as you’d expect, Steve often would've been fighting his own people, as well.
That takes an even greater strength of character and commitment to left wing ideals.
.
tl;dr: in historical context, Steve being Irish-Catholic is hugely significant.

NATO's Nazi Background
Literally, Hitler's Chief of Staff Adolf Heusinger became the Chairman of the Military Committee for NATO from 1961-1964
Then there's one of Hitler's most infamous German Field Martials Erwin Rommel's Chief of Staff, General Hans Speidel became the Supreme Commander of NATO's Ground Forces in Central Europe from 1957-1963.
And then again from 1971 to 1975 a notorious Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot who even earned the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, one of Nazi Germany's highest medals of honor, named Johannes Steinhoff became Chairman of NATO's Military Committee.
As if THAT wasn't enough, Johann Von Keilmansegg, who was a General Staff Officer to the High Command of the Wermacht, occupied the position of Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1967-1968.
A Major in the Wermacht and Group Leader of the Organizational Department of the Supreme Command of the Wermacht from 1943-1945 and a recipient of the Iron Cross named Ernst Ferber was NATO's Commander in Chief of Allied Forces 1973-1975
And NATO's Commander in Chief of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1977-1979 was Franz Joseph Schulze who was a Lieutenant in the reserve and Chief of the 3rd Battery of the Flak Storm Regiment 241 and became a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross in 1944.
Another Nazi, Ferdinand von Senger und Etterlin who was a Lieutenant in the 24th Panzer Division in the German 6th Army, a participant in the Battle of Stalingrad, adjutant to Army High Command, of course became NATO's Supreme Commander of Allied Forces Central Europe from 1979 to 1983.
So to make this perfectly clear; the United States who led the creation of NATO with its Allied partners the UK and France, instead of capturing, imprisoning and prosecuting in a War Crimes Tribunal like the Nuremberg Trials this list of Nazi War Criminals, these Western Imperialist Powers chose to put these Nazis in charge of NATO and its Armed Forces.
If you think the NATO of today is any different; that it wouldn't ally itself with Nazis today, like in Ukraine, then you are sorely mistaken.
Here's a couple of links if you have any doubts

No government in this world is worth your sacrifice
Honestly, as a German, I would even support any power to eliminate this treacherous remote-controlled government full of idiots in Berlin, which is reverting the entire country back to a pre-industrial forest landscape from which an incredible number of companies are currently migrating abroad. There is absolutely no reason for me to take up arms to defend this green climate hysterical society led by the most criminal and incompetent politicians.
And the biggest joke right now is that we're supposedly being "threatened," threatened by a nation at war with another crappy nation that, against all reason, we're supporting with money and weapons instead of just stay neutral. So Russia now has every reason to attack EU countries, especially Poland and Germany! We absolutely created this "threat" ourselves! Why should I sacrifice myself economically or even physically for something that is in every respect self-inflicted?! My willingness to make any personal sacrifices even slipped down in the minus range, which means that I only seek maximum personal gain. Any other behavior just seems stupid to me after the last few years.
I feel absolutely no longer part of this society and do not regret its demise. Moreover, I don't define myself by my country, but mainly by my ethnicity, my descent, and therefore jokingly describe myself as the last of my people. I think subconsciously I've always thought that way, as the thought of dying heroically for this country has seemed pretty pointless to me all along, especially now facing these bad developments! Not even all Western ideals together would it be worth sacrificing my own life just so that others can continue to watch Netflix, to eat McDonald's shit or to feel morally better because they demonstrate for more "climate protection" with an autistic girl on Fridays! Should I really die for it, fighting the evil Russian beast so they can still live like this?! Nope, I'm not that stupid!
If all EU countries behaved neutrally and not like hysterical bitches of the USA, there would be no danger of war with Russia. Western interference right on Russia's doorstep was a red line crossing for the Russian bear. And instead of letting common sense prevail, we even delivered tanks and rockets to some white pride dudes who would be considered neo-Nazis here in every respect, but are suddenly fighters for Western values in their own country. Now tanks with the Iron Cross are rolling against Russia again. Whatever, the western mainstream convinces us that this time it would end well and, even more grotesquely, that we Germans are standing "on the right side" today, despite the constellation being suspiciously similar to 1943! So it doesn't really feel right, it feels like some pretty sick shit.
In the end, it makes no difference under which flag a soldier or mercenary pulls the trigger. The fact that they pull the trigger for their leaders nonetheless makes them all murderers as part of the ongoing spiral of geopolitical violence. Of course, their motivation is mostly money or compulsion. On the other hand, Napoleon once said that soldiers do not risk their lives for ridiculous pay, but out of conviction in the common cause, even to the point of sheer fanaticism. The willingness to die for the common cause is ultimately imperative for successful soldiers, which is particularly evident in the demotivated Russian army. However, as I have already explained, there is no reason for me to die for my country and this sick society, let alone money or obligations would make me kill for these scum.
There are also a lot of Nazis in the West
In fact, with its pathological hatred of everything Russian, the entire West has made Putin even stronger, because nothing unites people more than a common enemy. Russians who had previously been critical of Putin rallied behind him for Western revulsion and sanctions attacked all head-on, also those people who have absolutely nothing to do with the Kremlin's decisions but are being treated like war criminals, not least since Zelenskyy was allowed to spread his hate messages in all western parliaments through his fucking pathetic video calls. Zelenskyy's ridiculous speeches quickly met with euphoric approval from the millions of trained sheep, so it was not long before the first cars of Russians were damaged or windows of Russian shops were smashed. Yes, the West is incredibly better! Do they seriously expect me to fight and sacrifice my salvation for them?
Should Putin now go berserk and press the red button to drop a few nuclear bombs on Berlin and other major European cities, it's their own fault. Then, as a refugee, I would bolt right away and leave them all to their own shit. I don't think it will ever come to that. Yet the entire continent is harming itself with this intolerable interference in this Slavic civil war somewhere in Eastern Europe, which simply shouldn't concern us. But just like influenza viruses or any CO2 in the atmosphere, this thing has become another dominating factor for this hysterical society. I just don't feel like it; I've never had that! So I have to draw my own conclusions and come to terms with the circumstances IN MY WAY.

Walter Schellenberg
Tumblr media
These are some facts and curiosities about Walter Schellenberg, the deputy head of the Gestapo:
He was born in Saarbrücken on 16 January 1910 but his family moved with his family to Luxembourg when the French occupation of the Saar Basin after the First World War triggered an economic crisis in the Weimar Republic.
He returned to Germany to attend university, first at the University of Marburg and then, in 1929, at the University of Bonn. He initially studied medicine, but soon switched to law.
He joined the SS in 1933.
He was recruited in the SD through 2 professors ( he gave an anti catholic speech which aroused Heydrich's interest )
In November 1939 Schellenberg played a key role in the Venlo Incident, which ended with the capture of two British espionage agents and was awarded the Iron Cross for this.
In 1940 he was responsible for drawing up a list of 2,300 British personalities who were to be arrested as soon as Germany occupied Great Britain; he was also involved in many other espionage activities, among which the Kitty Salon activity was very successful.
In March 1942, Heinz Jost was fired from his position as RSHA Chief of Amt VI, SD-Ausland (SD foreign intelligence). In his place, Schellenberg was appointed chief of SD-Ausland by Heydrich
According to his memoirs, Schellenberg had been a friend of Wilhelm Canaris, the head of the Abwehr (military intelligence).
In the last months of the conflict Schellenberg tried to persuade Himmler to reach a separate peace with the Western Allies by exploiting the mediation of Count Folke Bernadotte, whom he himself met personally in Stockholm in April 1945.
He was captured in Denmark in June 1945 while working on an attempt to make a separate peace with the Americans.
During the postwar Nuremberg Trials, Schellenberg testified against other Nazis. In the 1949 Ministries Trial he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment, during which time he wrote his memoirs, The Labyrinth.
He died of cancer in 1952 in Turin, Italy.
During the German occupation of Paris, Schellenberg was believed to have been a lover of Coco Chanel, who paid for the cost of his funeral when he died penniless.

very telling image of this years "national commemoration" of May 8th, the capitulation of nazi Germany in France... Two days prior, neonazis were parading, iron cross flags and all, in the streets of paris with virtually no police presence (wonder why) and no condemnation from non leftist parties (obviously) and all the govt had to say about it was "well they didn't pose any threat unlike the union demonstrations :/" alright 👍
