Narmer was the first man to unite Upper and Lower Egypt, and in doing so he became Egypt’s first pharaoh and laid the foundations for one of history’s most long-lived civilizations.

An Egyptian pottery wavy-handled jar inscribed for king Narmer. Formed of Nile alluvial clay, the surface ranging in color from light reddish-brown to beige-cream, of elongated ovoid form, on a slightly convex base, with rounded shoulders and an overhanging rim.

The present jar is quite possibly the largest intact object inscribed for Narmer presently in a private collection, and is one of fewer than fifty published objects preserving his name.

The Narmer Pallette, about 3000BC

Narmer seems to have been the first king of a unified Egypt, and this pallette likely celebrates his victories in battle. Despite its having been created right at the start of the dynastic period, it already shows lots of artistic motifs that would become canon throughout Egyptian civilization, including the form of the human body that shows the face and much of the body in profile, but the shoulders face on. The musculature of the legs and knees are also a point of focus, something that is common in Old Kingdom art. We can also see the goddess Bat, with a human face and cow ears and horns; she was a cow goddess associated with stars and the sky, whose identity (and iconography) later merged with Hathor's. Horus is also present.

On the other side of the pallette, two fantastically long-necked lions, held in check by their captors, demonstrate a symmetry that suggests they are an early precursor to later 'unification' scenes that show two gods facing one another (usually Horus and Seth or Horus and Thoth) while standing over the symbol for unification.

Been trying to keep updating to stay on top of things and the requests, so here's this!

Guess who on vacation? Tis I. So I'll be writing on those long car rides.

Self aware Narmer(and being the players favorite)

One of the first who's not impressed by "the fine demeanor, magnificent outfit, and air of majesty"(as quoted from his Career I), is you. And to you...he doesn't even truly exist. (😭)

He is quite a mysterious person, not many can get close to him.

People often try to do so, for whatever motive. Most likely, it's for their own gain.

You however, managed to learn more about him in a few days than the others who have failed in years.

As you may know, he's an avid reader. Anyone else will find him reading about miracles, mystery, history, or even trying to find more about you. Even going as far as making notes as to your reactions to the main story, event story, bounties, preferences of characters, even what he can see from the background of your surroundings.

Perhaps others will provide him with information, no? They must be as curious about you as he is.

Your favoritism towards him, he's not entirely surprised from the attention. He is, however, a little surprised that it's not the negative kind of attention.

Your constant use of him, allows him to keep exploring.

You often have him in your team for a lot of things, so even when you are offline and not playing, he has the chance to explore the places where battles may take place. Or he may rest to prepare for when you log in.

Zelmer's a proud child. Also quite nervous, poor thing gets deja vu her her parents :(

His morals of wanting everyone to gather together and defeat the miracles are easier with you. You just want fighters, supports, defenders, etc-and you don't really care what side they are on. Just that they get the job done.

How do you feel regarding Erra?

I pity him. But, I do have hope for him. I don't envy or wish his fate on anyone, and hope that some day he can totally break free and assume control once again. I want him to have a chance to atone for everything he has done, his sacrifice and brief moments of control show there is an earnest desire there. Though, he does carry the baggage of being a sentient warlord with more blood on his hands than perhaps even the Orokin. But, well, I don't think anyone is beyond redemption... Or, maybe reform is a better word? I don't forgive him. He can't wash all of the blood on his hands away, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a chance to begin again. Erra, and Natah, give me hope that the sentients can change course. The Orokin are no longer an empire, and the Tenno are no longer just tools of war. I hope they all come to the realization that they can put down their swords, the Orokin are but dust and echoes. All of us, every last one of us, are victims of the Orokin and their hubris in the end.

We should use that to bring ourselves together.

So...he's not alone in being obsessed with history?? Oh what a glorious day! This whole time he thought no one else was as interested in it as he was!

But here you stand, asking him about his favorite time period and what he thinks about various mythological folklores. His heart skips a beat!

Recommends so many books to you. You return the favor of course.

He invites you to his private library to join him in his readings, which shocks you because it takes a lot out of him to invite anyone in his humble abode. But you weren't just anyone, you were his friend accompanying him along his studies.

He has collected a lot of scrolls and books full of ancient texts. He'd sit with you and you'd both decipher (or at least try to) hieroglyphics and other languages. He's cracked a few, but some are just impossible to interpret.

Don't even get him started on the arts. If only he could see the various pottery being created, the marble statues being carved for the first time, the first ever paintings...

You both gush over different kinds of architecture too. From columns to pyramids, you love it all.

Loves to learn about technologies from way back when, too.

Every time you both meet, there is a nonstop conversation over the love of your interests.

He feels a felicity he never knew. With you, he feels like his efforts are more appreciated.

And you reciprocate that feeling.
