i still cannot believe ESO so overtly stole art. There were other instances where they took fan interpretations and implemented them where I felt credit and acknowledgement of the fact ideally should be warranted, but that's kind of a grey hazy area. And also that time where they straight up pirated a campaign from Wizards of the Coast, which I had to download before the guillotine of copyright law descended. Honestly what I cannot believe is the hoards of people defending ESO for this. Zenimax isn't going to suck your dick while you're choking on theirs

whenever I venture into the 'TES:O bad!' side of Tumblr it's always the same arguments of "people who play it are so cringe!!!" Like.... Do you have an actual reason to dislike the game or are you just regurgitating foulserpents lukewarm take of 'cringe game cringe fans am I right xD' are you all 12.

I really do wanna play ESO but like... I never know when if that makes sense? It's on my Xbox and I started playing it months back but BG3 happened and I've just not touched it since. I feel like I'd need to set aside time but I've got short attention spans atm.

If it were steam deck compatible I'd play it on there but it's not. Yet.

Devastated that the Eso Necrom update in June is so far away but that doesn't mean I can't start designing my arcanist (how do these house of reveries mask/hoods even work with elf ears? I have no idea 💀)

I have to wonder, now that Stadia is shutting down and - I guess? - cloud based gaming is basically dead, did Google even want it to succeed? Or was it all just a, "RIP we tried! Guess everyone can go home now!" sort of thing?

I feel like someone somewhere is probably getting a lot of money from Stadia's death.

to be clear I love the champion point system bc it's a fun spin on the MMO-standard of raising the overall level cap and it's nice to have something with actual effects on my character to progress on (the much, much faster leveling at veteran rank doesn't make it a slog either, and it's obviously something you're meant to gain passively doing what you were normally doing) even after the 'soft' level cap and gear stat cap and doesn't make me feel like I'm wasting exp doing things like questing, world bosses, delves, etc bc technically I'm still leveling.

but tbh the main reason I like it is bc they had the genuinely good idea to make cp points a) account-wide and b) usable by every character on the account even if they're not high enough level to actually level cps themselves, and I like that you're tacitly rewarded not just for doing things on your main but for having alts and having them at max level bc every cp level makes every single one of your characters stronger even at level 1.

There's a free trial for ESO+ until January 31, now I'm gonna make it my entire personality for the next week to play ESO.
