The Underworld {6} || Dimitri Belikov
Dimitri Belikov x dhampir!f!reader Summary: In the aftermath of the attack you are called to the Queen at St Vladimirs. Warnings: 18+ only, nsfw, fluff, filler WC: 2.1k
Ch.1 || Ch.2 || Ch.3 || Ch.4 || Ch.5 || Ch.6
Tumblr media
With the help of Fleur’s earth user tutor, they were able to expand your apartment further into the mountain that the Underworld was carved deep into. The added space created plenty of room for the girls to get their own bedroom each and a larger living room where you were currently waiting for Duke and Zane to arrive with furniture.
Even once they had their own beds to sleep in you doubted they would use them. Nightmares riddled their sleep, from the ungodly faces of the strigoi to their dead classmates. There wasn’t two hours that you had slept consecutively before their screams woke you and you had dragged yourself from the couch to where they cuddled close in your bed. But, it had barely been 48 hours since the massacre and it had taken you months, maybe even years, before you could sleep without the nightmares waking you after the rest of your family had died.
There was finally a knock at your door after you had checked your watch for the third time and you tore it open ready to chide them for being late only to find Abe Mazur standing there with two guardians at his back.
“Zmey,” you greeted cautiously, leaning across the door frame to try to hide the twins who were still inside the living room. “Don’t you normally like to frequent the lower levels?”
“Moroi business brings me,” he paused to look around the packed earth walls that were less pretty than the areas that brought actual income in, “here.”
“Such as?”
He shot a wry smile and repeated, “Moroi business.”
You sighed and knew the man wouldn’t leave until he had what he came for so you swung the door open wider in invitation. Protective little Hana had already ushered the twins back into their rooms when she noticed that you hadn’t immediately invited Abe into the apartment. Ever since she was old enough to talk she had told everyone that her half sisters were her Moroi and she was going to be their guardian. It was a role she took very seriously.
Once the door closed behind Abe, his guardians remaining in the hallway, he reached into his suit jacket and produced an envelope. You took it silently and turned it over to find the Queen’s seal, dread pitted in your stomach as you broke through the wax and found it addressed to you. Well, not you exactly. It was addressed to the caregiver of Zoey and Fleur - as their closest living relative, that meant you.
You read the summons quickly before screwing the paper up and lobbing it towards the kitchen bin. “Like hell are they going to the Royal Court.”
“The letter was a courtesy, little huntress,” Abe admitted with a careless shrug. “They will find themselves before the Queen with or without you.”
You slumped against the archway that separated your living room from the kitchen and crossed your arms. “Then why bother with the niceties?”
“Because I am going to make an exorbitant amount of money delivering the three of you there, quietly. You know as well as I do that if we make a scene then it will only bring the authorities down on this place. Which needless to say is bad for everybody's business, including mine.”
This wasn't a battle you could win and chewing on your lip was only going to lead you to the same conclusion and a swollen lip. “Four. I’m not leaving Hana behind.”
“Fine.” He made it sound anything but fine, not that you cared what a pain it was for him to arrange travel and entry permits for an extra person. “Pack light, I’m sure they won’t have suitable clothes anyway.”
“No need to be rude,” you muttered, pushing off the wall to go and break the news.
“I meant no offence, little huntress.” His dark laugh followed you along with his quiet footsteps. “You have provided for those young ladies gallantly but this may be something even out of your league I’m afraid.”
The urge to argue bubbled on your tongue but you were inclined to agree with him. Even though you had grown up in a household full of Moroi, they weren’t royal and had not spoken of Moroi politics in your presence so you were at a loss on how to deal with the Queen and her proxy. So, you put your trust in ‘the snake’ as Abe was often referred to and hoped it wasn’t misplaced while you packed some bags and left a note for Duke and Zane, whenever they eventually arrived.
“I’ll be honest, I never pictured you riding in a mini-van,” you said with a smirk as Abe took the front passenger seat.
“It’s only to get us to the airport,” he replied, unamused at the idea of his image being tanked by the soccer mom car. “It was the best I could find with the addition.”
Your smirk grew and you draped an arm over Hana’s shoulder. “Couldn’t let my prodigy miss out on the action.”
“Is Dimitri going to meet us there? Can I train with him?”
Hana’s rapidfire questions had your lips curling and Abe’s head cocked as he listened in from the front. “I’m sure Dimitri would let you train with him if his schedule allows it.”
You leant forward over the centre console and Abe’s brow twitch was the only inclination he gave that he wondered what you were doing before you spoke quietly, “Has there been any news about the attack?”
Zmey looked out his window and you saw the disappointment in his reflection as he stared at the passing terrain of endless trees. “No, other than what is already known - it was a planned coordinated attack like the others.”
You fell back into your seat defeated. If you had your way you would be back home preparing to go hunting. Every night wasted inside was another night that the Strigoi were growing stronger by feeding and growing in numbers by changing more victims.
Just thinking about it had your fists clenching and a familiar fire igniting in your veins, the need to hit something almost overwhelming you.
A small hand came to rest on your fist and you looked at Hana to see the same fire in her eyes. “You’ll save them, aunty,” she stated proudly. “I know you will.”
“Thought I would find you here,” you said as you broke the silence in the church where Dimitri knelt in prayer.
He spun around with his quick reflex and his eyebrows rose in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
“You know I can’t resist you when you are on your knees.”
“That’s not what I meant.” He tried not to smile but failed before glancing warily at the statue beyond the altar.
“Pretty sure if the Almighty was going to strike me down it would have been the moment I stepped foot in his sanctum,” you teased before turning sombre and pulling the summonings letter from your pocket. “The Queen called.”
Dimitri frowned as he took it from your hand and it only deepened the more he read. “I heard rumours…” His head darted around the shadows in the dimly lit church before he grabbed your head and walked quickly back to the door you had come through. “Where’s the girls?”
You increased your pace to match his. “Our room in guest housing, what’s going on?”
“Not here,” he murmured quietly.
The streets full of dhampirs and Moroi shifted to mostly dhampirs before there was only dhampirs.
Dimitri nodded politely to those who greeted him and they looked curiously at you, a stranger he was holding hands with. It was obvious he was well known and respected, which you already knew since his name was revered in the Underworld long before he stepped foot there, but seeing it first hand left a proud smile on your face.
“What?” he asked self-consciously as he caught the look.
“Nothing,” you chuckled, giving his hand a squeeze. “It's just incredibly hot seeing you in your element.”
He rolled his eyes but you saw the corners of his lips tip up before he turned to open the front door of an apartment block. The foyer was a guardian's wet dream, purposeful and direct with nothing excessive or distracting, and it made you scoff as you followed Dimitri to the stairwell. “Is every facility as welcoming as this?”
“I don’t think a few pieces of abstract artwork would make much difference,” he commented as he looked around the bare walls for seemingly the first time before shrugging. “We only come here to sleep between assignments and training.”
“I couldn’t wait to be a guardian when I was younger,” you admitted as you reached the third floor and Dimitri pulled a swipe card from his pocket and pressed it to the door handle. “Now I can’t think of anything worse. Sorry.” The apology was an afterthought when his eyebrows rose and he pushed his door open with a sigh.
His scent hit you first, the richness of his essence permeated the very air that you inhaled deeply as you stepped inside his room. You had expected the room to be bare but you were pleasantly surprised to see a bookshelf full of human novels and framed pictures of his family on the mantel.
Dimitri stood still as you took in the smallest of details, committing them to memory while you walked around the small space. Your fingers reach out unconsciously to his pictures and the images brought a new life to the man before you. You saw him as a little boy, as a son and a brother.
“Is this Ivan?” you asked as you found a picture of a teenage Dimitri next to another young man in front of what looked like a guardian graduation.
Dimitri took the picture with a sad smile. “First day of getting assigned to him.”
He placed the picture back down and nodded his head to the bed, taking a seat on the edge and waiting for you. A nervousness crept into you as you sat beside him and he rested his elbows on his knees and he leant forward.
“I heard rumours that the Queen was having Moroi trained to fight defensively against Strigoi.” His fists closed tightly as the very thought went against everything a guardian was trained to do. The Moroi were meant to be protected and stay safe behind a wall of guardians, not put themselves in danger. “The fact she has called the twins here after the feat they accomplished makes me think this is more than just a rumour.”
“That’s great!” You jumped up with a smile that quickly faltered when you saw his reaction. “After everything the Strigoi have done, how can you not think that is a good idea?”
“It’s not that I think it’s a bad idea, but where do we draw the line?” he challenged as he rose to his feet too. “It starts with defensive magic but then there will be those like the hunters who will want to use it offensively.”
You squared your shoulders at the insinuation and tipped your chin back to stare him in the eyes.  “We do what we do to protect the Moroi, all the Moroi, not just the royals. We won’t want them on the front lines anymore than you guardians.”
“That’s not what I meant,” he lowered his voice and stepped closer. “Since the attacks, the council has taken more guardians away from the non-royals and it is clear that the royals are their priority. My fear is the Queen will only be training non-royals.”
Your stomach dropped as you realised his train of thought and you gripped his shirt in your fists, dropping your forehead to his chest, praying you were wrong. “And if her plan works, you think she could conscript them to fight?”
“They are desperate.”
A sickening dread filled you and you were out the door in an instant. Your gut had told you coming to the Queen's domain was a bad idea but now you felt trapped but the warded walls that surrounded the city. You needed to get the girls and get out.
"Wait," Dimitri called, his boot steps on concrete groaning louder as he sprinted to catch up. "Where are you going?"
You didn't stop to answer as you ran under the arch that led out of the guardian compound and turned towards the guest housing where Fleur, Zoey and Hana were waiting. "I won't let her take my family, Dimitri, they are all I have left."
“She won’t just let you leave with them,” he growled as he pulled you to a stop but you broke the hold and kicked him away despite the flash of betrayal on his face.
“I have to try.”

Book 1: Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
Sydney, Adrian, Eddie, Keith
Jill, Lee & Clarence
Tumblr media
Thinking about how much I miss book 1
Sydney's first thoughts on her new fake family in Chapter 3:
Adrian -
The guy who opened the door looked just as surprised to see us. He held a cigarette pack in one hand and appeared as though he'd been heading outside to smoke. He paused and gave us a once over.
"So. Are you guys here to convert me or sell me something?"
The disarming comment was enough to help me shake off my anxiety. The speaker was a Moroi guy, a little older than me, with dark brown hair that had undoubtedly been painstakingly styled to look messy. Unlike Keith's ridiculously over-gelled attempts, this guy had actually done it in a way that looked good.
Jill
"Sydney!" That was Jill Mastrano, her eyes lighting up with delight. I liked Jill, but I hadn't thought I'd made enough of an impression on the girl to warrant such a welcome. Jill almost looked like she would run up and hug me, and I prayed that she wouldn't I didn't need Keith to see that. More importantly, I didn't need Keith reporting about that.
Eddie
Beside Jill was a dhampir, one I knew in the same way I knew Adrian -- that is, I'd seen him but had never been introduced. Eddie Castile had also been present when I was questioned at the Royal Court and, if memory served, had been in some trouble of his own.
Bonus:
Clarence
The unknown, an elderly Moroi with thinning hair and a big white mustache, had to be our host, Clarence.
Lee (Ch 4)
I thought this new guy was close to my age, maybe Keith's at most. He had nice features, I supposed, with black curling hair and gray eyes. The smile he offered seemed sincere though there was a slight sense of uneasiness in the way he stood.

How do you see Adrian’s relationship with Rose and Dimitri after the end of BL? I want all the tea good and bad 🤣🤣🤣
I imagine they'd all have a good relationship! Only with Adrian and Sydney moving to Maine and Romitri remaining at The Royal Court in Pennsylvania, I can imagine they would fall out of contact like most adults with lives and responsibilities do. They all will have their own lives and whatnot so I can't imagine they'd make a huge habit of getting together but they are friendly and happy! Adrian and Sydney would be focused on working, raising Declan and keeping him safe and out of the limelight while Rose and Dimitri go about their duties to their Moroi!

OCs DESERVE BETTER -> Casmir Zeklos (Vampire Academy)
“You would be surprised what people often hide, Hathaway. Ask anyone and I’m simply the slightly more tolerable Zeklos. Ask Daniels or Kaminski and they’ll tell you something different.”
One of the many Zeklos, Casmir at first impression is what everyone would expect of a Moroi from one of the larger royal families: arrogant, charismatic, flirty, overall asshole. Which is why many Moroi and dhampirs are so surprised he gets along quite well with Irina Daniels, a known detester of all things Royal, and generally treats dhampir’s better than most other Moroi do. Less like canon fodder and broodmares and more like non-Royal Moroi. When the Court begins to tighten restrictions on dhampirs - lowering the age and increasing live-fire scenarios - Casmir surprises just about everyone by teaming up with Irina and Lissa Dragomir to bring about change.

Hello, my friend!
Adrian Ivashkov has never been deprived of the attention of the inhabitants of the royal court and not only. I also got safely into his net. This moroi on the verge of insanity intrigued me very much. Part of me really wanted to talk, get to know him. Sometimes I was even going to go up and talk to him, but as soon as I saw him with the next high-ranking vampires, the desire went away, giving way to uncertainty and fear. That day I met him near the place where statues of ancient monarchs once stood. The ones that were blown up with c4 gas. Now there were their plaster casts. Lord Ivashkov was sitting on the ground, big tears were rolling down his cheeks. At first, I couldn't believe my eyes and already wanted to smile at such a high-quality acting, and maybe tease Adrian, but at that moment I realized that everything was sincere. Adrian was really crying. His face was distorted with pain. I quietly approached the moroi and unexpectedly put my arm around his shoulders. The guy froze and looked up at me blearily. "Y/N,, hi. How did you end up here?" "Well, it's not signed here, so I can come to this place." He nodded and sighed heavily. "Are you pining here?" "No, I'm just drinking, actually, as always." "Listen, I understand how much it hurts you. Well, I saw everything, so you don't have to play comedy. You lost an aunt you loved very much, who loved you very much. In addition, do not forget about the influence of the spirit. It's quite normal that you're so sad." He looked up at me with a cloudy gaze and looked into my blue eyes. "I didn't think you understood. Many do not think about what is happening. They just talk about what they don't know." I walked up to Adrian and carefully sat down next to him. "I was often humiliated in Russia. I received insulting shouts in my direction. And all this is only because I was born in a dysfunctional family. And always these "high" personalities talked about my parents worse than they really are. Yes, there was alcohol in their lives. Yes, my father stole. However, they both knew how to love and always protected the weak. These traits, alas, no one noticed." Adrian pulled out a bottle of alcohol from his pocket, unscrewed the lid and handed me a hot drink. I smiled and accepted the bottle. The first sip sent a shiver through my body, and I had to take several deep breaths to swallow too strong cognac. A mischievous smile played on Ivashkov's face. "I've never told anyone this. I don't have any friends." "Why is that?" "I don't know, it's hard for me to trust anyone." Adrian leaned over to me and put his arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry, we'll fix it." I smiled. "I'll try to trust the king of parties." "Then let's start right now"! With visible difficulty, Adrian got up and held out his hand to me. I confidently accepted his offer, stood up, clutching a bottle of cognac to me and looked intrigued at my new friend. "What are we going to do?" "Let's go party and look for friends, of course."
Returning to the guest house a couple of hours later from a party, I felt a little dizzy. Perhaps from the amount of alcohol consumed, perhaps from Adrian walking next to him, all this does not matter. The main thing is that I am joyful and immensely happy. And it seems that it will always be so now

silver decides young that she will not die as so many of her kind have - in service of moroi, bloody and scared. she knows the kind of dedication and sacrifice it takes, and as a dhampir herself, she went through the training, but she doesn't want to spend her life at war. when court is attacked by strigoi and people fill the streets, terrified and running for their lives, silver doesn't join them.
if she's going to die, she doesn't want to do it running. she doesn't want to do it afraid. if she's going out, she's going out with a bang. so she and jesse shut the doors and use each other to drown out the screaming. if a strigoi bursts through the door, there are definitely worse ways to go than while she's having sex with the pretty royal boy she's been fucking.
she doesn't expect to have any regrets. but then jesse is surprisingly vulnerable with her, and as the screaming gets louder, silver realizes that whatever they are, she doesn't want to watch jesse die. unlike her, jesse is moroi - jesse is royal. there are busses waiting to take jesse out of here, a car jesse can try his chances with if they've already gone. their entire society is structured to protect people like jesse and ensure their survival over dhampir like her.
jesse can get out. he can make it.
and silver tells him he should, even though it will leave her alone. she tells him to go, even though she fully expects to die alone.
both of us? her voice when jesse says we should go gets me so bad. the utter surprise that he would take her with him, the complete shift in her because a fighting chance? she'll fight like hell for that.

Backstory
Several generations ago, the head of the Dragomir line had two sons. While young they got along as well as any brothers would, however, as they grew older their relationship began to strain as the oldest became more withdrawn. It is said that he never specialized in an element and grew jealous of his younger brother, beginning to grow more manic, eventually breaking away from the Dragomir family to form the Dragovič line.
Over the years, the Dragovič’s grew in political power despite their few numbers. Exactly how their power was gained so quickly is still debated by the royal court and historians. In the modern era, however, the number of Dragovič’s began to shrink drastically. Investigations began to tkae place, some believing that the Dragovič’s were being targeted directly, as well as the Dragomir line.
Anastazija was born the middle child to the prince of the Dragovič family. From early childhood Taz was considered a strange child, often found staring off into space or talking to her imaginary friends. Little did anyone realize that Taz had specialized in her element far earlier than when she should. The imaginary friends were ghosts that she would befriend and try to help move on. Other abilities related to spirit developed the older Taz got, leaving the young moroi confused and began to scare her. Soon, Taz started blocking out the very ghosts she once used to befriend.
For several years Anastazija avoided using her powers as much as possible until she was 14. One day while in her room, a sparrow flew into her window, dying on impact. Feeling bad, the spirit user accidentally used her powers to heal the bird, bringing it back to life. Shocked, Taz kept quiet about what happened but kept the sparrow. In just a few weeks, Taz’s life would change forever.
While out with a few friends, sudden visions began to assault her of her home and her family being attacked, causing her to pass out. Once she woke up, Taz took off running back home. Her visions turned out to be true once she arrived. After that, Taz’s life has never been the same. The body of her younger brother was never found and Anastazija still believes he is alive. Growing angry, paranoid and vengeful. A desire to hunt down those who killed her family has stayed with her ever since.
Style
Loves skirts and dresses but has begun wearing more pants after running away to be more prepared to be active. Has a parasol that her parents gave her when she was younger that she uses for going outside on especially sunny days. Ever since the death of her family, Taz has taken to wearing black, still mourning the loss of her family.

The world wasn’t perfect. Far from it actually, but Sydney had to believe that for whatever reason a lot of good would come from this. It was the 21st century and yet she had an arranged marriage pending. Other cultures use this practice and many live long happy lives but what about her? This was a first of its kind. A marriage between a human girl and a moroi was unheard of. She like all of the alchemists had been taught to fear them, viewing them as creatures of darkness. Her father had been the one to tell her. What he hadn’t told her was why. Why her? Why now. She hadn’t even met her husband-to-be but that was to change soon. She was being sent to the royal court where he resided. Other than his name she hadn’t been told much about it other than it was for the greater good. Such a Jared Sage thing to tell his daughter. She knew tension was high between the alchemists and the moroi and dhampirs by association but would a marriage to a stranger fix this?
Stepping into the grounds of the royal court and Sydney couldn’t help but think how normal it looked. It could pass as a prestigious college. The other thought that she couldn’t help was how utterly panicked she was. The ingrained lessons in her head told her not to trust the vampires. Even now, her heart raced for no reason. Surely, the Queen had a reason for this. She was offering up her own beloved family member to the cause. Then again, if all failed, she was the human, she was the one who might not make it home.
It was daylight when she arrived, her normal schedule for now but for everybody else they should be long asleep. She was shown to a quest house where she set her suitcase down on the bed, unpacking and hanging her clothes accordingly. She would try to find the Queen and ask what was needed from her from this point on.

A blurb 'Happy Birthday' for Rose's birthday if the muse strikes you
It smelled of honey and lavender. Rose opened the door and walked into the heavenly scented room, eyes gazing at the vase of blooming pink and purple flowers that sat neatly on the counter. The walls were painted a soft green, and classical music hummed from a speaker in the corner.
"I have an appointment for Rose Hathaway."
The man behind the counter looked at his computer screen. "Ah, yes. Perfect! Welcome to The Royal Treatment, Mrs. Hathaway." He stood up quickly, his chair crashing into the wall with a loud thud from the sudden movement. Pink tinted his cheeks and he cleared his throat, scurrying from the desk to a pantry door to the left of the room. He handed Rose a white robe and pair of slippers. "There's a restroom behind you to get changed, and then you'll go to the room on the right."
For once, Rose quite enjoyed following the instructions. She slipped her feet into the warm slippers, tying her robe tightly against her. It was the softest thing she'd ever felt. She wondered if they would notice one robe missing...surely they had a bunch in the back? It would be a birthday gift for herself.
She crept quietly into the room, basking in the warmth she was met with. This was paradise, and the treatment hadn't even begun. She inhaled deeply, closing her eyes. This was everything she needed. Work hadn't been easy as of late. Her body was bruised and aching. Today would be a perfect day.
Gentle waves lapped from the speaker, met with...a loud crunch?
"What the fuck?" Rose spun on her heels, glowering at the man who sat in the plush chair, clad in an identical robe and slippers.
Adrian chewed on a sliced cucumber. "Happy birthday. I was wondering when you'd get here."
"What the fuck?"
"Two for one." Adrian shrugged, half chewed cucumber still in his mouth. Rose pulled a face, nose scrunching in disgust.
"You couldn't have let me choose the second person?" She crossed her arms over her chest, eyes narrowed.
"Lissa's the Queen. She can have a spa day any day. I, however, am a poor and humble man. I have never received such luxury-"
"Adrian!"
"Rose!" The pillow from the massage bed made contact with his face. "Not cool. This day's about relaxing. You need to chill. Be zen. Ommmmm-"
"How am I supposed to be calm when I have a pesky thorn in my side?"
"I was thinking the same thing. Roses are just so prickly-"
"Did I say thorn in my side? I meant pain in my ass."
"How ungrateful." He sprung to his feet, tossing the pillow back onto the massage bed. "I get you an all day pass to the best spa in town and this is my thanks?"
"I wasn't aware my birthday present had strings."
"No strings. Only entertainment." He fluttered his lashes dramatically, a beam lighting his stupid little face. "Come on, it'll be a nice day. We deserve this."
"We? What exactly have you done?"
"Y'know," he waved his hand. "Stuff. Life's quite exhausting." He nodded toward a third person who entered the room. A brunette lady in blue scrubs smiled at them.
"Hello Mr and Mrs. Hathaway! How's the lovely couple doing on this fine day?"
"We're not-"
"We are just fine and dandy. Thank you,"  Adrian squinted, "Samantha," he read off her nametag. "We're looking forward to getting our day started! What will it be first?"
"Brilliant! We're going to start you two off with the couple's hot stone massage, and then we'll move onto some facials."
"Not that you need any work done, honey," Adrian winked dramatically at Rose. "Maybe just some caffeine for those under eye bags and crows feet."
If only she had a stake. Moroi or not. Maybe she could rough him up just a little.  She was sure Court would understand. Rose crossed the room with a smile painted on her face, jabbing her elbow into Adrian's side. "And maybe a treatment for those scales you have. Poor thing, they're just awful."
Samantha looked between the two, unsure of what to say.  A high pitched, squeaky giggle escaped. "Our world famous facials are designed to meet your skincare needs! If you don't mind coming with me," she glanced at Adrian with what could only be described as the customer service smile of the year, "I'll lead you to your room. Mrs. Hathaway, if you don't mind getting ready. Place the sheet over yourself when you're done and your masseuse will be in shortly!"
Rose stepped out an hour later with her robe resecured. For the first time in years, her body was completely tension free. She felt like she was floating above the world, the warmth of the sun encompassing her gently. She sat in the large leather chair, propping her feet up on the stool. Beside her, Adrian's face was painted green. He grabbed a handful of cucumbers from the bowl on the table, crunching into them.
"You know those are for your eyes, right?"
"If they're only for my eyes, why did they leave so many?" He tapped the side of his temple, dropping some of his snacks in the process. "Was it nice?"
Rose sighed dreamily, closing her eyes. "It was the best feeling in the world."
"Good. You deserve to have a day off from saving the world. Happy birthday, Rose."

Vampire Academy, Peacock 2022 TV Series
pilot directed by Billie Woodruff
cast and roles below the cut
Sisi Stringer (Mortal Kombat) as Rose Hathaway, a vampire-human hybrid known as a Dhampir. Fiery and outspoken, Rose is a true fighter in spirit and in practice. She always jumps into action, and more often than not, this results in demerits. She might be the strongest fighter in her class, but her success will depend entirely on her willingness to toe the line when it counts.
Daniela Nieves (Every Witch Way) as Lissa Dragomir, a Royal Moroi vampire. Growing up the younger sister to the heir apparent, Princess Vasilisa Dragomir is a carefree, kind-hearted, royal princess coasting through her studies and happily chasing fun. Lissa is uninterested in the political machinations of the Royal Court or the hypocrisy of Moroi royal society. But with a sudden death in her family, Lissa is thrust into a role she’s neither trained for nor is emotionally equipped to handle.
Kieron Moore (Cold Blow Lane) as Guardian Dimitri Belikov, the model of a Dhampir guardian: lethal, disciplined, discreet, and totally committed to his role as bodyguard to the ruling Moroi, the “good,” mortal vampires of his world. He lives by a deep moral code, but beneath his stoic, watchful surface, there’s an expansive spirit that could threaten to expose the underlying tension between his sense of what’s right and his formal duty to the Moroi.
André Dae Kim (Degrassi) as Christian Ozera, a Royal Moroi vampire. Intelligent and thoughtful, Christian is the pariah of the school and royal court, due to his parents’ unforgivable societal sins. Well-read and hungry for knowledge, he searches for faith-based answers and discovers a kindred spirit who is also looking for the truth.
J. August Richards (Angel) as Prince Victor Dashkov. Victor is a Moroi noble vampire with a heart of gold who’s highly regarded for his role as advisor and political strategist to Moroi dignitaries. He’s a fierce loyalist who uses his intelligence and influence to protect that which he values most: the well-being of his husband and two adopted daughters, as well as the betterment of his Moroi community.
Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Lucky Man) as Tatiana Vogel. Tatiana is a Moroi vampire and political underdog who slowly takes the royal court by storm. Motivated by love and a sense of justice, Tatiana has a unique skill of making herself seem of no consequence until we realize much too late that she was always the one to watch.
Mia McKenna-Bruce (Get Even) as Mia Karp, a student at St. Vladimir’s Academy. Witty, cutting, and just the right kind of ruthless when necessary, non-Royal Mia has a long-term plan to social climb her way into the ranks of royalty, with all the privilege and freedom that entails. A plan complicated by her instant chemistry with Meredith, a Guardian-in-training, as Mia struggles to reconcile her attraction to Meredith with her lowly status.
Rhian Blundell (Nobody Girl) as Meredith, a smart, strong-willed Dhampir who is a keen observer, which makes her an excellent strategist and a valuable asset. She has little patience for Rose’s volatility or Mia’s elitism, and regularly calls both of them out.
Jonetta Kaiser (Two Sides) as Sonya Karp. Quiet, careful and decidedly odd, Sonya is not of royal bloodline and sits out on the fringe of Moroi society, preferring to spend her time in the library or her gardens. Not a person who likes a scene, nonetheless she has a quiet but profound power of her own. She is taken by surprise when a Dhampir Guardian named Mikhail shows interest in her, a relationship that will expose both the brightest and darkest parts of her heart.
Andrew Liner (grown-ish) as Mason Ashford. Charming, loyal and popular, Mason is Rose’s main competition in the quest to become the number one Guardian-in-training. Though their relationship is casual on her side, he is hopeful she will finally look at him and see him as something more.
