I decided to post my opinion on season 1-2 and my opinions on characters in order to best understand my future opinions (mainly because my thought process is a little weird sometimes)

I apologize in advance for my English but for some reason I was very tired of writing this text 😅

For @heroes-trash who is interested in my opinions

Actually, it was my second time watching heroes, but I didn't remember much of it, so it felt like I was watching it for the first time

Without further ado, let's get to the point

First of all, number of episodes was perfect, plot was well thought out and I didn't have the impression that the episode duration was misused. The pace of story was balanced, it kept you in suspense until you wanted to watch it over and over again, characters were nicely presented and interesting. humor was funny. In short, it was pleasant to watch

Knowing that the second season only has 11 episodes, while watching the series I couldn't help but feel that this season was too short. The pace was similar to the first season, which meant that all the storylines ended too quickly, often resulting in poor execution of their endings. But I can confidently say that I also liked season 2. The newly introduced characters were fine, and the old ones had interesting stories (well, maybe apart from Niki and DL, I didn't like their storyline and I had the impression that the scriptwriters had no idea for Niki). It would be nice to see the original idea for the 2nd season of Heroes, but I fully understand the circumstances that existed then and the decision that was made.

Now let's move on to saying what I think about characters

Peter Petrelli - I love Peter. His empathy, positive attitude but also sarcasm created an interesting character. How he grew into the role of a hero was well written, and Milo was sweet and sexy. I liked how Peter interacted with others and his relationships with those closest to him were always enjoyable to watch.

Claire Bennet - I like that Claire is not your typical blonde cheerleader, she is smart. She doesn't step out of line and tries to be an ordinary teenager despite her abilities. It didn't irritate me, I was afraid of it because it often happens to teenagers on TV, they are just irritating and that's all. I liked her friendship with zach and her romance with west in season 2 was ok

Mohinder Suresh - (I know it has nothing to do with my opinion about mo, but in the suggested words after suresh word montana appears 🤷)

Mohinder is quite an attractive, I mean nice person (until he's not). It's quite nice that one of the main characters has no abilities, he's a bit like us (who sometimes didn't want to wake up in a world where super powers exist). It was a bit unexpected for me that Mohinder shot Bennet, but I wouldn't say it was out of character

Nathan Petrelli - I have a very complicated relationship with Nathan, sometimes I like him and sometimes I want to punch him in the face. However, his love for Peter makes me unable to cross him out off completely. I really liked his storyline in season 2. However, despite all this development, I have a feeling that Nathan may make a decision that will make me really punch him in the face

Noah Bennet - my favorite character so far. I liked that his love for his daughter made him decide to stop looking away from the immoral activities of the company he worked for. To such an extent that in season 2 he decided to break it from the inside, even if his reason is selfish, it's good that he decided to destroy it

Matt Parkman - whenever Matt appeared in season 1 I felt sorry for him, man he really tries. When at the end of the 1st season it seemed that everything would be fine, in the 2nd season everything went wrong (well, not everything, his relationship with Molly is sweet, I like his friendship with Mohinder) I felt like I was watching some fanfiction adaptation of the type x years after the end of the series, everything it's bad

Hiro Nakamura - I love hiro, his and ando's adventures from season 1 were one of my favorite threads in the series. His relationship with Charlie was bittersweet 😭. The plot of season 2 was interesting, I liked that it was Hiro who influenced Takezo Kensei to become a great hero from the legend his father read to him

Ando Masahashi - I liked that despite his lack of power and initial skepticism, ando ended up being a good balance to hiro. He controlled Hiro and made sure that his desire to save the world did not end with Hiro's death. He encouraged him and motivated him. His crush on hiro sister is cute

Niki Sanders - it's an interesting idea that an abused girl gains a second, strong personality after her ability manifests (I hope I didn't offend anyone with the way I wrote this sentence) when it turned out that Jessica was the one who framed dl, I thought it was crazy but Interesting. The part about Niki wanting to get rid of her powers was the most interesting part of her plot in season 2, I didn't like the rest

DL Hawkins - at the beginning when it seemed that his story would be; he is black, turned out to be a criminal and is in prison - boring. Fortunately, this was not the case. DL gained even more in my eyes when he tried not only to complain but to be a good father and husband

Micah Sanders - I like that Micah was well written as a genius - I have to be strong to help my mom - I'm just a kid. Genius kids on TV are often annoying, but luckily Micah is not like that

Isaac Mendez - I really liked Isaac, it's a pity they had to kill him. His development from a junkie who paints the future to a hero was good

Simone Deveaux - the isaac - simone - peter triangle is one of the few triangles that didn't piss me off, it was so well written that I didn't know who I wanted Simone to end up with. And then they killed her why. Okay, her death was important in development of Isaac and Peter's characters, so I forgive them

Angela Petrelli - I don't know what to say but I like her. I liked that Angela started in the pilot as an inconspicuous woman and then it turned out that she was more important, and what's more, she still leads intrigues.

Molly Walker - she's sweet. I'm glad that she's trying to be strong despite adversities, too many bad things have happened to her, leave her alone, she's just a child. And Molly, Mohinder and Matt make a lovely family together

Sylar - I've always had a soft spot for people with power to steal/copy other people's abilities, so Sylar is high on my list of favorite. When I saw Gabriel Gray for the first time in the episode Six Months Before, I had deja vu, I was wondering who he reminded me of, until it suddenly dawned on me that he reminded me of Jeremiah Valeska from Gotham. They dress quite similarly, they both have glasses, hair combed to one side and wear a suit and a sweater (or whatever it is, sorry but I don't know anything about men's clothes), they are insecure and end up as villains (I hope I didn't ruin the viewing experience for anyone with this spoiler) This is another reason why I like sylar

Maya/Alejandro Herrera - of the two, I liked Alejandro more. Maya is nice and I actually like her too, but her naivety irritated me

Monica Dawson - nice and positive character. The duo monica and micha was great

Elle Bishop - I absolutely love her, my favorite female character. A crazy but tragic character. I can't wait to see what the next season will show

Adam Monroe - great idea that Takezo Kensei started as a drunk and a cheater, with Hiro's help he became a hero and ended up as a villain. I really liked him (crosses fingers hoping he'll show up again) his alliance with peter, or rather how he framed him, was great. He wanted to release a deadly virus so that humanity would be reborn again through extermination - crazy, but I appreciate the creativity

I guess that's everyone, let me know if I missed anyone and you would like to know my opinion about this character

Ps: it's a pity that there was no lizard!mohinder this season, lizards are cute

Heroes, in the House 'Verse

Shortly after the start of class, kindergarten teacher Matt Parker becomes dysphasic and experiences seizures. Dr. Mohinder Suresh attempts to convince Sylar Gray to treat Matt, but Sylar initially dismisses him, believing that the case would be boring. Hospital administrator Dr. Noah Bennet approaches Sylar in the elevator and attempts to persuade him to fulfill his duties at the hospital's walk-in clinic. Sylar refuses, claiming that Noah cannot fire him due to tenure, and hurriedly leaves. When Sylar's team attempts to perform an MRI on Matt, they discover that Sylar's authorization for diagnostics has been revoked; Noah restores his authorization in exchange for his working at the clinic.

Matt's throat closes up during the MRI due to an allergic reaction to gadolinium, prompting two members of Sylar's team, Dr. Ando Masahashi and Dr. Hiro Nakamura, to perform a tracheotomy. In the hospital's clinic, Sylar's first patient is a man who is orange because of an over-consumption of carrots and vitamins (niacin). Sylar also treats a ten-year-old boy whose mother allows him to use his asthmatic inhaler only intermittently instead of daily as prescribed. Sylar criticizes the mother for making such a drastic medical decision without first learning more about asthma. During his monologue, Sylar stumbles on an idea and leaves quickly to treat Matt; he diagnoses him with cerebral vasculitis, despite having no proof. Sylar treats Matt with steroids, which improves his condition greatly for a time, until he starts seizing and has heart failure.

On Sylar's insistence, neurologist Dr. Peter Petrelli and Hiro break into Matt's house to find anything that might account for Matt's symptoms. They find an opened package of ham in Matt's kitchen and Sylar concludes that he is suffering from neurocysticercosis from eating undercooked pork at some point in her past. Matt refuses to accept more random treatments unless there is conclusive evidence that the diagnosis is correct. Sylar is ready to dismiss the case when Ando provides an idea for noninvasive evidence of Matt's tapeworm infection; by taking an X-ray of his thigh, Sylar proves that Matt is infested with other tapeworms and his condition is treatable. After seeing the evidence, Matt agrees to take medication to kill the tapeworms.

Nathan: Hell, yeah, we are if you keep complaining, Niki.

Meredith: I am surrounded by idiots and unfamiliar places.

Isaac: Rude, Meredith.

Peter: Ugh, it’s this way, you dingbats.

Claude: Hush, Petey, I got this. *gets hits by Peter*

Simone: No, Claude, you really don’t.

Mohinder: Guys, we’ve been walking for hours...

Chapter 7: Game Changer

A HEROES Fanfiction Angel Before the Fall Series By: Allyssa J. Watkins

”PLEASE!!!! DON'T!!!! Oh GOD, DON'T hurt him!! I'll show you how it works, take it, I'll do it, just....... NOOOOOOO!!!!"

Ally screamed out into the surrounding darkness, her panic shaking her awake, and she hugged herself, frightened and trembling. Where-? Her head felt heavy, like her prolonged slumber had been unnatural, like- like she'd been drugged..... WAIT!!! The tranquilizer!!! NOAH BENNET!!!!

"SYLAR!!!! SY, are you here!?!?"

Even her voice sounded heavy, it wouldn't carry, and she rested her forehead in her hand, disoriented. Where was here? Her breathing slowly leveled out as she realized the paralyzing horror she'd just witnessed, was only a hallucination, drug-induced, not real.

You wouldn't have to ask if I was here, Beautiful. Believe me, you'd know........

Her heart started to race, even though she knew it was the drugs talking. Sylar's voice drifted unaccompanied by its dark, gorgeous form through her mind. She could almost feel him, encircling her from the shadows behind, hands on her shoulders, lips against her ear, hearts eclipsing, beating like clocks ticking, in perfect time.

She exhaled deeply, brushing the long dark hair from her eyes, feeling groggy, not quite all there, caught between the pulling threads of nightmare and dream, trying to make sense of her strange surroundings. It was all a void. Darkness. Silence. Nothingness. But...... no, hold on, there was a light, a flickering rectangle of light cast in the corner from an apparent hallway, vague shadowy forms dancing on the opposite wall.

It was then that she noticed the numbness in her right arm. Had she slept on it wrong? How long had she been asleep? No, wait..... that couldn't be it. She could only feel it in one spot. Her fingers flew to her forearm and she was shocked to find a bandage there. From the tranquilizer? No, that dart had landed on her- She quickly turned, crossing her arm over her body, feeling beneath the silky strap of her tank top, to find yet another bandage on her shoulder blade. WHAT did they do to me!?!? She thought frantic, suddenly scratching at her wrists. They began to itch terribly, both of them. It was relentless! She went to scratch again, horrified and confused. Oh NO!!! Two more bandages encircled each of her wrists, and a sickening revelation came to light. Experimentation. Noah, NO!!! She bit her lip, feeling worried. If Noah found out her secret, knew how to use her blood, he wouldn't need her anymore........ and he'd dispose of her without a second thought. Especially considering who she was now romantically entangled with.

"Hell yes, I want to get tangled up with you." She felt a wonderful shiver run down the length her spine, and sighed, happy. Sy's voice was the only thing keeping her from completely losing it, after Noah and Company had done GOD knows what to her. Why did it itch SO much!? She scratched furiously, too nervous to peek under the bandage, and her fingernail caught on something else. A bracelet? No, that can't be right, she wasn't wearing one. She felt along her wrist above the bandage. A strap, a thick woven strap, but why? Had she been tied to something? She struggled to lift herself off what appeared to be a cot, scurrying to the only corner of the room, (if it was a room) that had any visible light. Her eyes had begun to adjust to the darkness, but still nothing looked quite real. Was she dreaming again? She had to sit on the cold concrete, with her legs tucked under her, angling her wrist just right. Suddenly, the shadows on the wall raced away, dispelled at once, the glow in the hallway finally bright and stilled. Light glinted, reflecting off her wrist. She leaned closer, curls spilling over her shoulder. It was a watch. More chills. A broken watch. Her breath caught in her chest as she recognized each crack in the crystal, the all black face, the gleaming white numbers, the black nylon band, and a single name appearing ghost-like beneath the 12 and the hovering second hand........ SYLAR.

"Man, it's like waiting for Christmas. If Christmas really sucked." Peter yawned, straightening his bullet proof vest, as he stood in the small foyer, of the PRIMATECH outpost.

"I hear that. I want it to happen already, and at the same time, not at all. Are we sure he's coming? What if we're way overestimating his affection for this girl?"

"Na, you should have seen the look on his face when I pulled her away from him. I only saw him for like a second, but he was foaming at the mouth livid, and something else...... something off. Something I'd never seen from him before. If it was anybody else, I'd say he looked heartbroken."

"Ha yeah, if that guy had a heart to break. Wow, he's got it bad for this one huh? He did totally freak when I put her screams in his head full blast."

"How many times are you gonna clean that thing?"

Parkman smiled, checking the chamber on his Glock. "Sorry, old habit. It used to keep me calm on overnight stake outs."

"Bet you never had one like this before."

Parkman chuckled, "Oh yeah, tons! Telekinetic magic man killers trying to burn the whole world to the ground, his index, the murder weapon. Just another Tuesday."

Peter smiled, but it faded just as quickly as it had come. He suddenly felt really strange, like every inch of his skin was prickly. He'd only felt like this once before....... Something wasn't right, and it was making him anxious, and extremely jittery. Sylar should have been here by now.

"Hey Matt. Did you check the perimeter in the last hour?"

"Yeah, all clear. Why?"

"I don't know...... I don't feel right, I feel off, like something's wrong, and I can't- I can't stay still."

"Whoah, relax, Peter. Something IS wrong. We're waiting for Killer Finger like it's his surprise party. Ha I guess in some ways it is. God, he's going to be so pissed, in for one HELL of a surprise. You really should have a gun in your hand Peter. Believe me, it helps."

Peter started to pace back and forth, raking both of his hands through his messy jet black hair. "No, no, we gotta go. We've got to check it again, where's Noah? How do we know Sylar's not already here, waiting.......?"

"C'mon Peter, there's like five snipers on the roof, surveillance cameras freaking everywhere, motion detectors, armed guards at every entrance, hell, a rigged up tear gas bomb out back. No WAY is he getting in without us knowing. Noah went to the lab, he's with Mohinder. Chill out, okay? You need another drink."

"I'm gonna sweep the perimeter again, stay here. I gotta move, my skin's like crawling."

Parkman handed Peter the radio, and he pressed the side button, raising it to his lips. "Hey Noah, it's me, I'm going to give the outside another once over. I-"

Peter flinched as he heard the sound of glass shattering, quickly followed by the poised click of a gun, over the radio, and something huge being knocked over with an awful CRASH, Mohinder yelling in the background.

"NOAH!!! MOHINDER!!!! What the HELL was that!?!?" Peter yelled, his hand clenched on the radio his knuckles turning white.

Peter and Parkman were both startled by the sharp, screaming sound of the emergency siren, piercing through the silence, red lights flashing frantic across both of their faces, and before either of them could make a move, the steel storm door in front of them retracted, sealing itself shut.

"It's really quite extraordinary. At first every solitary test I ran, came back negative for abnormalities in the blood. Cell count, normal. Bone marrow, normal. Not even one trace to suggest Miss Watkins has abilities of any kind. And then...... sure enough, in a blink of an eye the sample beneath my microscope would vanish as if it had never existed at all. Like a magic trick, and a most ingenious one, at that.

"Something tells me you didn't call me all the way down here for another dead end." Noah said with a crooked smile.

"Indeed no. You see, cells respond to different light in different ways. Sunlight, infrared light, florescent light, even firelight, and were Allyssa to have her ability in a microbiological capacity, the right light could be just the agent to unveil such deception. I dabbled, played around a bit, took more and more blood, and made quite the astounding discovery."

Noah followed a gleeful Mohinder to the table, and Mohinder put a slide with Ally's blood under the microscope. "If you wouldn't mind, Noah, could you switch off the lights? For this demonstration, I will need complete darkness."

Noah nodded, "Yeah, sure thing, but make it quick. We have an unwelcome guest on his way, and remember I'm not a genius, so keep it junior college level at least, and save the impressive Harvard words for later?"

Mohinder chuckled, "Fair enough. For the record, my vocabulary was already advanced, far before I attended Harvard Medical School."

"I don't doubt that. They probably didn't even deserve you," Noah smiled, walked over, flipped the switch, and the entire PRIMATECH laboratory went instantly dark. Mohinder clicked on a glowing black light wand, holding it over the sample, and Noah leaned in, curious, anxious, eyes focused. So much was riding on this. One girl's secret could save the world.

"Nothing's happening, Mohinder. Except, of course, your shirt glowing. Is that part of the presentation?"

Mohinder looked down at his iridescent white dress shirt and smiled. "No, merely an entertaining side effect. Patience, Noah. Nothing is happening........ yet. Fascinating isn't it? The black light or UVA light on its own isn't strong enough to coax the clandestine cells to the surface. To stop the refraction and thus end the illusion, we must create a disturbance."

Mohinder began clicking the black light repeatedly on and off, until it flashed, frenzied like a strobe.

"Don't give me a seizure, I mean it."

Noah leaned a little closer and in the beats between flashes, to his unsuspecting amazement, Ally's cells began to move, the blood shimmering, looking purple in the black light.

"Well I'll be damned. You- You did it, Suresh!" Noah looked at the both literally and figuratively glowing doctor over the top of his glasses, his own smile widening.

As the blood shimmered with the smooth movement beneath the surface, there somehow appeared to be double sets of cells, vibrating at the same time, and then, in the next flash. The first set, the mirage set vanished, and only the second set, the real set remained.

"May I present, Miss Watkins' actual cells."

"My God. That's remarkable! I don't know how you figured out this one, but it's the game changer we've been hoping for. Do you realize the possibilities, the things we could do with this blood!? The applications are......."

"Infinite." Suresh finished with gleaming brown eyes, and an enthused grin. "Were we to present these findings to the world, you'd be looking at the next Nobel Prize Winner."

Noah arched an eyebrow, in a reprimanding, paternal way. "You do know we can't do that, right?"

Mohinder chuckled with a nod. "Of course, I am well aware of the detrimental ramifications. The world isn't ready for her, for us, for any of it. But the revelation itself is enough to rejuvenate my long stagnant mind, and make me feel like a great scientist again. Knowing all of the Specials we're going to save, slip right under Nathan's nose, in the guise of complete normality. That, My Friend, is worth more to me than all of the Nobel prizes, medical journal publishings, and magazine covers in the WORLD."

Noah clapped Mohinder on the back, grinning again like a proud father, and for the first time in a long time he felt real, tangible hope. Ally's blood, and Sylar's death were going to give them an advantage they never dreamed. "You ARE a Great Scientist, Mohinder. A prize winner if there ever was one. You'll get your magazine cover one day, I promise."

Mohinder and Noah's excited smiles instantly vanished, along with the dark blood on the glass slide.

"Damn. Now if I can only neutralize this unfortunate disappearing act long enough to use it, we can begin trials."

"You'll get there. I've known this girl for eight years, and you've accomplished more with her blood in one day than I ever could. Her secrets aren't safe anymore."

"She is a woman of mystery. Even science itself fails to rationalize the inclinations of the heart. Perhaps her cellular structure will enlighten us as to her peculiar attraction to Serial Killers. Oh! Which reminds me about your other request....... I took x-rays, scraped skin samples from her palms and tested them to excess."

"And-?"

"And...... unfortunately, you are mistaken, Noah. She doesn't have any tactile manipulation susceptibility present in her skin, not a trace. Besides the conducting tissue, and influx of electrical current in her blood stream needed to use her forcefield ability, her hands are entirely normal. My Diagnosis? Contrary to previous theories, Sylar Gray does in fact, have a heart, vulnerable to the violent affection of love.

"Damn it. That's what I was afraid of."

""Hey Noah, it's me, I'm going to give the outside another once over I-"

Peter's voice crackled over the radio, interrupted by glass shattering as it hit the concrete floor, and Noah pulled his gun, expertly cocking the hammer, training it on the far corner of the lab, in one swift motion. There was a loud groan, Mohinder's panicked voice yelling, and Noah took off running full speed at him, as he saw the shadow of the giant refrigerator start to fall forward towards him. "MOHINDERRRR!!!!!" NOAH yelled as he slammed into him hard, knocking him out of the way just in time, as the refrigerator landed with a horrible thud.

"NOAH!!! MOHINDER!!!! What the HELL was that!?!?"

Horrified, Mohinder raced toward the felled refrigerator, like a mother after her injured child, completely devastated. "NO, NO, DAMN IT NO!!!! MONTHS of critical research, revelational discoveries, rare bloodwork, destroyed!!!!"

"You're ALIVE, Mohinder! That's what matters!! Keep moving!!!"

"Noah, PLEASE! Help me!" Mohinder frantically rushed to flip the giant refrigerator over. "We MUST salvage what we can!!!"

"Damn it, Mohinder, THAT was SYLAR!!!! We've got to go after him!!!!" Noah yelled, exasperated.

"Noah, you don't understand!!! We NEED this research." Mohinder looked at him desperately, and Noah sighed, holstering his gun, rushing over, leaning down, and curling his fingers under the refrigerator. Just as the two of them flipped it over, the emergency siren flooded the room with its awful screaming sound, red lights flashing violently.

"This - This isn't right. No, it can't be."

"It's empty. You sure this was the right fridge?"

"Positive. He took it all, Noah..... every vial...... including........ Mohinder looked at Noah horrified, not wanting to say it out loud.

"Including what!? What the HELL was in here!?!?"

"A highly aggressive anti-regenerative serum."

"Meaning?"

"A solution that metabolizes in the blood, and slows any enhanced rapid healing process. Noah....... I don't think he intends to use it on himself."

Suddenly the sirens went dead, and a girl's terrorized screams blasted through the intercoms. Noah ran like hell through the darkness, out into the hall, his heart shattering like all the glass scattered on the floor, tears in his eyes, raising his pistol. It was the one sound that he'd fought, prayed, so hard he'd never have to hear. The reason he did what he did, so he'd never have to know this abject nightmare...... his little girl screaming for her life.

"Hello Boys. Now it's a party, huh? So nice of you to wait up for me. Claire, shhh, Daddy can't understand you when you're screaming hysterically. You took something of mine, Noah. Now, I'm going to take something of yours........"

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING? Anything and everything? Elle is one of my favorite characters and she was removed from the show way too soon. She still had so much potential and story left, so I hope to give her that through roleplaying.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? This is a weird question really seeing as I ship her with Adam who’s ~400. But physically he’s not older than like thirty. As long as they don’t look too old I guess? Most celebrities don’t look their age anyway. For example, I’m seeing a lot of people using Keanu lately and he’s fifty, but he sure doesn’t look like it. I usually play Elle around ~26 unless it’s an au/flashback, so I guess maybe ~50 or so. It just depends I suppose.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? : I’m not and will give anything a try, but Elle is picky, so there are no guarantees.

Hey, thanks for asking (and thanks for the compliment!) This’ll be fun, and I can’t promise it’ll be short answers, so don’t say you weren’t warned X)

A: How did you come up with the title?

For Tongues of Fire, originally it had a different title right up until an hour or so before I posted chapter 1, I think! It was originally named more for Peter and Sylar, but I changed it after writing a dream sequence Angela has near the start of the story, where she sees the world end when “the sun itself sent out tongues of fire to lick the surface of the Earth clean”. And since the plot revolves around everyone trying to prevent this future in their own ways, I decided to name the story after the event that makes the entire story happen ^.^

J: Write or describe an alternative ending to [insert fic].

I can’t answer this for ToF I’m afraid, as I can’t spoil the ending that’s to come X) I can answer for Gabriel Gray is Dead though, which originally was going to have a much more bittersweet ending. During the planning stage and even when I started to write the story, Peter and Gabriel/Sylar weren’t going to reunite at the end. The story was going to finish with them both having learned from each other and, although heartbroken, continuing on their own paths with the love the other taught them. But very quickly I was like “nope. Can’t do it. Happy ending for all!” and I’ve never regretted it since XD

L: What's the weirdest AU you've ever come up with?

I think either Sylar Goes, where Sylar comes up against notorious villains from other stories and shows them exactly who’s boss, or Homecoming Heroes, which is a ridiculous but fun concept that could only ever work through the medium of writing and with a rather not-so-bright protagonist (sorry Peter XD). Won’t spoil the twist here, but if you check it out you’ll see what I mean. They’re both silly and were a lot of fun to write!

Q: Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?

I don’t have too many discarded scenes from Tongues of Fire, luckily I managed to work most of them into the story. The biggest one, though, that I’m really sad didn’t fit, was Peter going to find Mohinder in India for help. He was going to ask if Molly could locate Claire (as Peter needed Claire to help him reason with Noah), but Mohinder wasn’t having any of it after seeing and believing the stories of “vigilantes” on the news. Of course he’d recognise Peter on TV, and of course he’d recognise Sylar with him. And this didn’t sit too well with Mohinder after his past interactions with Sylar. Eventually he’d grudgingly agree to ask Molly, and when Peter and Mohinder left the lecture hall (where the scene would take place) then Mohinder and Sylar would have a tense but silent stare-down exchange in the corridor before Sylar gives him a slightly mocking salute XP

I debated for ages before cutting this scene, because I wanted to include Mohinder in the story, and because I thought the dynamic of a united Peter and Sylar vs Mohinder was a really interesting one. In the end, though, it was too big of a scene that wasn’t necessary and dragged down the pacing too much. I’m not sorry I cut it, but I am sorry we never got to see how Mohinder is doing post-Heroes/pre-Reborn.

T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?

I think it’s a shame that so many fics (particularly post-series) seem to skip all the drama and tension that would naturally come from the events of the show (mainly the finale) to fast forward to when everyone is all friends and happy again. It’s nice to read some fluffy fics like this, but in the world of Heroes, and especially when Peter and Sylar are united and nobody would likely approve or understand why, and they’ve just spent years in a mental enclosure before being thrust back into the real world with no time to adjust: I’ve always wanted to read more about the potential for drama and plot stemming from this when there are already so many more domestic stories out there.

This is just a small irk though. I’m not saying I can’t stand these fics, they are still well written and beautiful. Even years in I’m still very grateful for the Heroes fandom, and that there might be small things that aren’t my cup of tea, but nothing that properly annoys me ^.^ I don’t think all fandoms can say the same, sadly.

U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven't tried yet

Maybe Sylar/Elle would make a fun oneshot or two. Aside from them, if I was to write fics for another fandom, I think it would be cool to write Shepard/Kaidan from Mass Effect X)
