This is my entry to this month's challenge. I made my wife as a modern witch <3

The Farmer's Daughter in South County, Rhode Island

Here's some of the cute little "stores" and displays at this South Kingstown perfect fall destination. It is Autumn in New England, for sure!

The Witch's House with "notions, potions, devotions, herbarium, apothescary." It was a little creepy but also cute and kitschy. That green figure in the little garden was sufficient scary.

And the other little rooms of things for sale, especially the Halloween room, was really fun to look around.

I loved, of course, the growing flowers. Those will be in my next post. 🙂

Okay pagans and witches of tumblr, tell me this; 

a) who went to a catholic school and discovered paganism while you were there

b) who rebelled in every religion assignment they had? 

I went to a catholic highschool and found paganism when i was 14/15 years old. It was mandatory to take religion so i chose the one that ‘looked at other religions’ which tolerated them only to compare them with christianity in every assignment. 

And i tell you what i called them out on so much crap in every assignment. We had to discuss what the meaning of life was, and why humans ultimately existed. I explained how the Catholic beliefs were sexist and often times excluded so many people (even good Catholic people were not ‘free of sin’) that it was actually more useful to assume their was no meaning to life, or that we would be far happier if we created that meaning ourselves. And I finished on this specific quote from Red Dwarf; 

“What if humans are just a planetary disease right, and thats why all the other planets give us such a wide berth because ‘Oh don’t go near Earth, its got human beings on it, they’re contagious.’ ” 

And even though i rebelled against every assignment and challenged the catholic viewpoint at every turn, you can bet i still got straight A’s in that class. Because while I was challenging the system, i was also giving the most accurate and detailed research on the topic that they couldn’t mark me down even if they wanted to.

Mabon Nature Walk

As we gently emerge from the transformation of winter, it is time to think about the seeds we are sowing this imbolc.
