having a baby w mike and it being the baby’s first halloween :’) you mike and abby take lil dude to baby’s r us and spend HOURS trying to find smth perfect, mike and abby bicker over costumes bc “he’s my kid??” vs “i’m a kid and i know what kids like, and he’s MY nephew”, taking him trick or treating w abby and her staring down anyone w a mask or smth scary like “>:( don’t scare him he’s little”, mike being a Dad and wanting to take pics/vids of everything
oh my god clementine this is so sweet i actually had to silently squeal for a second !!
it’s like there’s a general buzz in the house for all of october. each of you thoroughly excited for the first real holiday in baby schmidt’s life, apart from the fourth where he’d worn an american flag swimsuit at your parents cookout. he seems to be excited too, constantly flashing his newly grown teeth even when no one’s looking.
the outside of the house is brandished in cheesy decorations, little cobwebs and faux tombstones, abby’s hard work as she likes to remind you and mike every so often. it seems like she has just as big of a role in baby schmidt’s life as his parents, which eventually leads to the infamous babies r us argument.
standing in the infant section again, it’s at least the fourth time the four of you have found yourselves here, the three times before ending in frustrated walks to the toy section (where mike put entirely too many toys in the buggy), a lunch break, and a feeding break for little schmidt.
now, you’re determined to find a costume this time. the section isn’t that big so it really shouldn’t be as difficult as it is. but the two equally stubborn schmidt’s are the ones making it difficult, dual hardened eyes staring at each other.
“he should go as mickey mouse, it’s cuter.”
“and i’m telling you again, abby, that he’s going as a little astronaut.”
they each hold their respective costumes in tight fists, and it’s really a funny sight to see; mike bent down to eye level with his little sister, face just a tiny bit red from the argument that really shouldn’t be as heated as it is.
“every other kid is going to be an astronaut.”
“and how do you know that?”
“because dina’s little cousins are all astronauts. i’m a kid. i know what kids like, mike.” she spits his name with such a matter-of-fact attitude, that you start to see her point.
but little schmidt is starting to get fussy in your harness and your back is really starting to hurt so you cut the argument short just when mike states, “yeah but hes my kid” and abby is starting to counter that he’s her nephew.
you punctually grab the first costume that you see, the lion from wizards of oz, and throw it in the basket.
“neither of you carried him and went through 17 hours of labor so i get to choose.” and they can’t argue with that logic.
but to make the two grumpy ones feel better about losing, you all stop for ice cream on the way home.
and weeks later, when halloween finally rolls around (because of course abby and mike were so excited for little schmidt’s first halloween that you’d gone costume shopping extremely early), they’re both on guard.
abby’s trick or treating with a friend, you and mike left as guardians for the night, and as soon as dina rings the doorbell abby is giving her a lecture.
“and he’s really little still so you can’t scare him, okay?”
you and mike stand a few feet away in the hallway, coordinating outfits with baby schmidt who’s still down for the remainder of his nap.
when it comes to trick or treating itself, mike has his camera out the entire time. he refuses to let you all leave the house without pictures. every few houses he has to take a picture of you and abby and dina walking back from the porch, or baby schmidt with his fist in his mouth. by the end of the night, he’s gone through two rolls of film, and there’s new family photos framed around the house by the time thanksgiving rolls around.

Mickey Mouse Headcanons/Ideas for Epic Mickey
Headcanons
Mickey's connection to the blot means that he can communicate with the Shadow Blot telepathically.
Mickey would prefer to use Paint but he has used Thinner for both fights and for light pranks.
Mickey doesn't believe the Thinner is entirely evil but is aware of the consequences of overusing it.
The blot is a manifestation of Mickey's concern with how Walt's dream is being treated nowadays.
Mickey has rare vision dreams that predict his fate or the fate of his friends.
Mickey can speak to Tints and Turps and is the only one who can understand them.
Mickey can temporarily morph himself into his previous designs, mostly for tricks and jokes.
One of his favorite parades is the Main Street Electrical Parade and he was so happy to see it come back.
Mickey remembers his clubhouse/preschool shows fondly, even if people in the Real World don't.
Mickey does what he can to make sure Toons don't stay forgotten, though some things are out of his hands.
Ideas
This is gonna use a mix of original ideas and scrapped content to see if I can use any of them in a way that fits with the canon lore.
Mickey's connection with the paintbrush technically allows him to use his ink powers with his hands. The issue is that the more he does it, the more fragile his body becomes, draining his colors and messing up his body. Will appear in Epic Mickey 2.
Due to recent issues involved with Disney, Mickey wonders if he's better off being forgotten since his image is stuck in a place between being loved and being hated by the public. This idea may be expanded in Epic Mickey 2.
Mickey can fuse with the Tints and Turps to create temporary forms that strengthen either Paint or Thinner or both at the same time. The downside is that the Guardians magic is very limited and too much can erase them completely.
Mickey getting new types of Paint and Thinner colors. (To be extended in world-building post)
Mickey getting a gas mask inspired by the real life WW2 masks that was supposed to be for kids so he can avoid getting too much Thinner in his lungs. This would only be for cases in which he has to use so much or he's in an environment that forces him to wear one. Of course he finds absolutely nothing wrong with the mask itself, nope not at all.
He still hates war at least.
And finally, his Tints and Turps get special designs in Epic Mickey 2 thanks to their strong connection to him. These designs would be inspired by the Tokyo Disney Resort Summer Splash water drop mascot designs.
I might draw my own design using these during the times I'm not doing college work.

Holy shit! I am freaking out right now, guys, and I am super excited to share it with you! But first: quick context.
I don't know how many of you here know about Lorcana, but it's a TCG made by Disney and Ravensburger that was released back in August. In it, you take on the role of an Illumineer and you wield different types of Ink (Amber, Emerald, Sapphire, Amethyst, Ruby, Steel), which allows you to summon Glimmers (canonical or different versions of Disney characters, designated as Storyborn or Dreamborn respectively). You race against other Illumineers to collect Lore, and whoever reaches 20 Lore wins. The gameplay itself intriqued me, but what I find truly captivating is the story it's building.
The second set for Lorcana was released today and is called "Rise of the Floodborn," which focuses on a type of Glimmer called Floodborn. These Glimmers were caught in an intense flood of all six Inks, changing them in unpredicatble yet exciting ways; they are also granted the "Shift" mechanic, which lets you turn existing Glimmers into their Floodborn versions. Much like "The First Chapter," a companion story was published on the official Lorcana website, and it already has me geeking out!
Right off the bat, an Illumineer named Venturo is checking out an artifact from Disney's vast lore, but which artifact, you may ask?
Based on its description, it's not just Scrooge's No. 1 Dime… it's the DuckTales (2017) version of his No. 1 Dime! The moment I saw the words "10 CENTS," I immediately knew!
But wait, there's more!
A couple of paragraphs later, we see that Basil of Baker Street is investigating a different artifact and deduces it as…
That time, I knew what he was referring to, but I had to double check. One quick Google search later and what is the first result?
THIS! The Sumerian Talisman that Basil came across is most likely the same Sumerian Talisman that Lena wielded for most of the series! I had a feeling they had to be one and the same because I distinctly remember Webby identifying the amulet as such in "The Beagle Birthday Breakout!"
Guys, I cannot stop smiling about it! I honestly thought Lorcana was gonna add the Duckverse characters/OG version of the Disney Ducks since they unveiled cards of Donald and even Daisy in their usual designs! Seeing these two artifacts get referenced was quite the bombshell to drop for me; not only does it continue the trend of DuckTales (2017) getting incorporated into the Mickey & Friends universe in some capacity (Minnie's Style Studio, Toontown, HDLW's cameo in Trick or Treats, Daisy's reboot design being used for Disney's Halloween 2022 season, a poster for Runaway Railway featuring the triplets' reboot designs), it could also mean that Lorcana isn't just focusing on the Disney animated movies and short films like I thought! They may also be including shows based on pre-existing characters, and DuckTales (2017) seems to be the first one!
I am beyond happy right now and I cannot wait to see what the next set has in store!
