basically they first met during the early days of the revolution, when Raph was still there. He even encourage him saying "there's no way he's str8 with a v-neck that low" (it was a sleeveless hakama...) to which leo responds with "were at war, I don't think his sexual orientation is on our need to know basis" "JUST GET OVER THERE"

Sagi thought he's cute, duh its Leo. But he wasn't struck with the idea of romance at first glance. they become friends, competitive in developing their skills and leading their separate groups of the same rebellion. Usagi picked up the nickname fearless for Leo from the rebellion soldiers, He uses it (both for teasing and as an endearment).

Sagi's group had to separate in order to help other colonies prosper but before he leaves there was a vague confession of Leo's feelings. Sagi, (the ahole) only smiles and says that he "admires him equally".

they don't see each other for several years, but when they got back together they grow closer than ever. Thus, old married couple behavior...

Like, Leo wanting to confess in the most original way. End up asking hueso to help him, and involving his brothers in the rehearsal of a serenade with the vibe of The book of life in every single way. They get suits, instruments and Leo makes his best to organize his brothers so the moment is perfect. As always, Hueso does not have much faith in the matter.

Hello!! This is a future, Leosagi, Western/Cowboy ROTTMNT au that takes place in Montana, USA. Loosely based on the song linked above. It is a fic on AO3 that is updated every Sunday night CST. Occasionally I will upload early :)

SYNOPSIS:

Yuichi Usagi, former samurai, recently relocated to Montana from the headache that was New York, looking for a fresh start. The clear skies and mountain air provides a lot of calm—and new opportunities, he discovers when he meets four turtle brothers down the street from his farm, each with their own captivating personality and kind souls. One in particular has started to make his heart pound a little faster, and yet he can’t shake this strange feeling that he knows him from somewhere…

Leonardo Hamato has lived in the same rural community almost his entire life. His family packed up and left the city when he was seventeen, and there isn’t much he remembers from the months leading up to their move. One thing he does know is that this handsome stranger is about to make his life much more interesting.

Donatello Hamato has been described as a gunslinger, a vigilante, a cold force of unstoppable nature. That’s certainly what he looks like to Yuichi, and the rabbit yokai can’t explain the man’s unwelcoming attitude towards him. But as Donnie begins to block him out of Leo’s life, taking down old pictures from the wall, silently conveying that some things are best stayed buried, well… something is definitely wrong here.

“Calm down” he laughs slightly, borderlining on hysterical, “you lied to me!” He yells, his voice cracks but he’s not sure if it’s with emotions or having been hacking his lungs up for the past hour.

“You all lied to me” he stares at his brother as the older avoids his eyes, “what else have you not told me”

Tello looks off to the side awkwardly, as his fingers twitch and Leo knows he wants to fidget with something. He doesn't need the softshell to reply, the silence if telling enough.

“There is something, isn’t there?!” Leo pushes himself off the cot and he growls when Tello moves to help him,

Tello doesn’t say anything as he halts his movements. And it pisses him off even more, he can feel his rage rising.

“Who else knew?” He voices in a dull tone.

Continuing to remain silent, Leo forces his aching body to move, mouth formed into a snarl as he gets up to get into the elders face

“DONNIE!” Leo grasps his shirt, bringing him closer. Tello maybe taller than him but that doesn't stop Leo from pulling his brother down, doesn’t stop the anger that’s burning within him, threatening to explode.

“Tell me!” He shakes him.

You need to calm down

The voice in his head whispers gently as it tries to soothe him.

But he's far past the point of calming. He can’t stop the hurt, can’t stop the anger from taking over him. He’s never felt this much anger before; it's like a viper readying itself to strike and Tello is in prime position. There is a part of him that should be worried, but he’s being drowned out. You need to fuck off, he snarls back.

Just when he thought Tello wouldn’t tell him, Leo goes to open his mouth again, harsh words on the tip of his tongue. But his eyes widen in horror when Tello shouts with desperation.

“Everyone!”

It feels like the air just leaves his lungs. Starting with wide eyes at Tello, he sees the soft shell finally look at him, eyes painstakingly like his own gape back.

“Everyone knew and they didn’t say anything. I told them not to” he rushes out.

Leo stands, mouth slightly agape as he processes just what exactly he’s saying. Horror and utter disbelief washes over him, taking his breath away.

“What?” He whispers, voice cracking with emotion.

yuichi/leosagi/samurai rabbit hcs that are specific to my fic (dubbed graves au)

- leo and yuichj are both aroace and transmasc and will never kiss on the lips bc they think its nasty and gross

- yuichi doesnt curse bc his auntie didnt like that kinda language when he grew up and he thinks being crass is immature and he likes acting like hes mature , also hana being his little sister he doesnt want her to pick up bad language

- yuichi has gotten fired from most jobs bc he cant help but argue or yell back at annoying and entitled customers and the hidden city has a Lot of entitled customers

- also:

- chizu and kitsune are in neo edo while yuichi and gennosuke are in the hidden city

- yuichi and gen both hold a distaste for neo edo as both of them had to leave due to the ppl of the city being shitty to them in some way

- leo and yuichi both think romance is gross

- they are, however, in love

- or will be

- but not in a romantic way

- theyre the basement yard podcast

- yuichi’s love languages are acts of service (bigger one) and quality time

- yuichi is taller than leo (5’10 compared to leo’s 5’7)

- yuichi knows leo isnt a kappa but he calls him that anyways bc he knows leo hates it

- they both grow to like the nicknames as they get closer

- hueso calls yuichi “peluzote” bc it means dust bunny

- yuichi is a sumatran striped rabbit and arctic hare mix, meaning he’s mixed japanese-indonesian ! his mom’s side (usagi side) are all arctic hares while his dad was a striped rabbit , however his dad was raised fully japanese and so was yuichi

- yuichi has a winter and summer coat :] his summer coat more closely resembles sumatran striped rabbits

- yuichi’s first friend in neo edo was chizu, however they havent had much contact since he moved away since she is too busy with the neko ninja

- he and kitsune met in neo edo bc she stole his wallet but laughed at him bc he didnt have anything inside except for a few syrup packets and two joules

- theyre best friends now
