Synopsis: After the situation in Monza, the grid makes sure to look out for you a little more than usual.

A/N: this is technically a part 2 to “back at that party”, but you could probably read this without reading that fic, though it is recommended 🫶

. obviously after the entire monza party situation came to light

. and the other drivers learned what happened

. no one wanted it to happen again

. so the drivers become a little more protective of you than they usually are

. first off

. per lewis’s request, after parties have a lot more security than they usually do

. and attendance is monitored a lot more thoroughly

. the rule was if you didn’t have a paddock pass for the race, you’re not allowed in the club

. you guys also develop kind of a buddy system

. the girls, wether you’re a wag or just a woman in the paddock, especially always have someone with them

. could be a friend, another driver, or co-worker

. the women don’t get left alone

. it also suddenly occurs to the drivers that there are a lot of strangers in the paddock

. hundreds all 20 of you don’t know

. and it’s a really disturbing thought because a lot of these people might have access to your garages and hospitalities

. you don’t know what these people could do

. so the buddy system evolves into the paddock

. whether it be your press officer

. teammate

. personal trainer

. or other driver

. you don’t walk alone when you’re in the paddock, especially at night

. usually lewis, carlos, and lando are the ones that accompany you the most because those are the drivers you’re closest with

. but you’re cool with a lot of the grid

. so your buddy varies

. the “not being alone” policy also applies to you traveling

. always having someone next to you on a plane

. uber/taxi rides always containing two people in the backseat

. and if you’re in a super foreign country where all the drivers are clueless and lost, your location is on to a few people

. the protectiveness also extends to the little things

. never walking to your car by yourself

. drivers checking in to ask about your flight/when you’re arriving

. looking out for you at any type of party

. like holding your drink for you

. looking after your bag if you have to leave it somewhere

. and making sure no one unwanted gets too close

. so yeah

. the drivers care about you

. they show it in a lot of different ways

. but this one is your favorite

it's only when he raises his brow at you that you realize you've gone too far. you inwardly scold yourself for displaying such irreverence.

Can I ask, why do you love BL romance better than het romance?

Because I had no choice for many years.

Because that choice was taken away from me by a homophobic, transphobic, queerphobic, acephobic society. So all the romances I read had to be heterosexual, all the romances I watched had to be heterosexual, all the romances I heard of had to be heterosexual.

Because I'm not heterosexual.

Because I never saw myself represented in any stories ever, for over about 20 years (queer stuff existed, but where I was situated in Perth, Western Australia, meant that I was not seeing it).

Because I was force-fed allonormative, heteronormative, heterosexual tropes, bullshit, toxicity, misogyny, patriarchal culture, rape culture and more, and because everyone assumed that was normal, which made me feel isolated, marginalised, alone, and bereft, and cut me out of knowing what a life could look like for myself, and made relationships harder, when you don't have the words or stories to latch onto.

People like me couldn't even be erased out of the media, we hardly existed in the media, and if we did, almost never under our real identities, and almost always having to pretend to be something we weren't, for many people who hated us, or wished we were dead, or simply didn't care about us at all.

So, when I finally got a choice, I made a choice.

And I do not want to read heterosexual content anymore, unless it's queer (like T4T). The only place I actually willingly consume heterosexual romantic content these days is like 80s and 90s and early 00s romantic comedies. It's the only thing I allow through my filter, because so many of them have a really strong bent of hurt/comfort in them, and it's rare to find movies that have this in general.

But yeah otherwise het is just not a thing I look for in fiction. Literally a squick. Literally reminds me of 20 years of oppression in the mass media. It's not inherently bad, it just wasn't good for me personally, to never have a choice.

So I made one :D And my life has been so much better for it. I'm never going back.

Also what do you think that made Asian MLM (BL manga/manhwa/manhua/ danmei) romances better than western MLM romances?

It's just better for me, anon! I find a lot of western published m/m (so not like m/m fanfiction which I still read) often feels stifled and too short for me, and the characterisation doesn't get as deep as I want it to get. I often can feel the rigidity of the novel structure on authors who are trying to rapid release, and the depth I'm looking for is rarely there. Sometimes that's what people want! Sometimes they don't know there's other options!

Sometimes that's true of some BL manga/manhua/manhwa etc. as well. Tbh it's probably true of a lot of it! Serial format doesn't always allow for depth either. But I find the visual format easier to read as well. If I reread western m/m it's almost always fanfiction. And tbh, I'm sure some amazing m/m was published last year, I just get tired of having to wade through it all to find something I like. It got to the point where I was reading like 60+ titles just to find one average read, and I gave up.

The recommendation systems for BL tend to be better and more on point for me, I find most people who recommend published m/m to me generally always miss the mark (which isn't their fault - I'm particular, there's a reason I write what I write - because I can't find it to read!!), but close friends like @morbidlizard who recommend BL to me almost always hit the mark!

I don't actually read much danmei, but mostly because I haven't had time to really sink my teeth into it. Aside from MXTX, I haven't explored much further.

But yeah, hope that helps! :D

Chase's frame is a well-oiled machine. It is a uniform, it is a tool for justice, it is nothing more than what he needs it to be to do his job.

And that would be the total and complete truth, if it weren't for these Primus-damned finials.

He has attempted to implement emotion-supressing protocols to stop them from moving so damn much, but he wasn't so good at it that he could hide the coding from medibots, who would immediately delete it upon finding it, despite Chase's protests.

"It will make me better at my job," he had tried. "A field should be kept close and professional, finials should be the same!"

They'd just laughed at him, and laughed harder when his finials pinned back.

Finials aren't rare on Cybertron, but they continue to be an object of fascination regardless. Many times bots would have no qualms about reaching out and touching and groping his finials, just to see them flick and twitch, because leave me alone, those are sensitive- which just encouraged them more.

"You're uptight," Blades had drawled, leaning over the top of his bunk to look down at him. "Try to stop reacting. They just want to see you vulnerable."

Chase's finials had pinned back, flicking when he noticed Blades' optics tracking the movement. "I do not understand."

Blades sighed heavily, dropping down onto his chassis. "You and me both."

Despite the strange end to that conversation, Chase had tried his best to follow the advice. But the finials seem to have a mind of their own, and he doesn't even notice most of the time when they move on their own accord.

At least on Earth it's been better. His rescue bots have known him for so long they're not fascinated by his finials, and the humans don't seem to notice them half the time.

He's still not fond of them. They take away from his professional image and he can't control them.

And then, what a surprise, Heatwave makes it worse.

They had been sitting on the couch. Heatwave was splayed across Chase's lap, drawing, while Chase balanced the datapad he was reading on Heatwave's windshield.

It had been a Cybertronian essay on the mechanimals that found themselves populating solely large cities, a truly fascinating subject he hadn't gotten around to reading about yet.

So by the time he noticed, it was too late.

Heatwave had his digits on Chase's finial, rubbing gentle circles up and down. Instead of an electric jolt and a horrible feeling of wrong, a strange calm comes over him, and an involuntary purr begins to rise from his engine. He slumps forward, leaning on Heatwave, who coos mockingly.

"Look at that," he says with a triumphant grin, putting down his stylus to rub the other finial, and the purring gets louder. Chase tries to push his frustration through his field, but content flows out instead, making Heatwave's grin grow bigger. "Chase-y's got an off switch!"

Chase glares at him, but he knows it comes off as pathetic with the way Heatwave laughs at him.

succession scene of all time honestly if we really wanna get into it. like for one scene to unpack So Much in one go was just absolutely insane.

kendall comes down those stairs and stewy is there and we haven’t seen stewy since he was in kendall’s room in england refusing him cocaine for his own good and you think okay. stewy is mad, he’s gotta be fucking furious. you think okay, stewy’s gonna call him an idiot and a liar and yell at him for fucking with stewy’s money and for the idk, the bad business acumen and unprofessionalism of backing out of deal or something.

but then stewy comes at him with ‘how did he get at you?’ and then he comes at him with ‘theres a friend card if you wanna play it. you can talk to me’ and then comes at him with ‘we had the whole world in our hands man and you fucking walked. why?’ and when he Does get mad after kendall feeds him the PR line he comes at him with ‘you pusillanimous piece of fucking fools gold fucking silver spoon fucking asshole’ with ‘asshole’ said with so much fucking feeling and heartbreak that its enough to level a small building and its like. suddenly all these pieces come together and you’re realizing just how deep and how far back this goes with them and the extent of the mess that is logans affect on kendall and this revelation that people Know, that whatever is happening with this family, with logan and the kids, doesnt just exist in this vacuum between them but is external and impactful and visible

and honest to god above in heaven it ALL rides on arian moayed’s delivery. he carried that scene for 9 months and Birthed it and we literally owe him our lives.

He couldn't really remember how long he'd been under the spell. Two hours? Thee? Oh well, it didn't really matter anyway.

The tall Overlord managed to drag himself up the stairs, making his way to the master bedroom where he knew that his companion would be. Not only did he crave the company, but he also desperately wanted to just.. Lie down.

Not many had the privilege of seeing The Radio Demon be under the influence of alcohol, but to be fair, this wasn't exactly his own doing. He didn't allow himself to end up being intoxicated on most occasions. He preferred a clear mind.

The taller Overlord would crawl onto the bed, a healthy tint of red priding his cheeks as he eventually stood over the other demon, eyes hooded. Without much consideration, he leaned in to claim his lips in a slightly deeper kiss. Deeper than any they had shared since Terzo's resurrection.

Upon breaking said kiss, a row of giggles followed, almost sounding like he was equal part flustered and amused by the situation.

"Apologies, darling~ I simply could not help myself. You are far too alluring~" He paused a little, looking into mismatched eyes. "Actually, I am not sorry about that in the slightest~"

hi there :) where did u get the inspiration to write rosier? i don’t come from a christian background so this may be a dumb q, but i went into a rabbit hole of looking up all the demons that appeared in the bible, and didn’t see him, which u can imagine my surprise bc he’s such a close friend of lucifer in abm!

Hello! Agh Rosier. So my writing process is that I outline and then scrutinize my outline while I draft because it's inevitable that the execution of my initial ideas brings up better ideas, newer themes, and potential issues. Then, I go back to my outline, and I adjust some things for what's ahead. Initially, Rosier wasn't going to have such a close relationship with Lucifer.

I discovered Rosier's name in a demonology book from the library; he isn't in the Bible at all. I liked that about him. I wanted to include a demon who isn't important, who doesn't go onto become a household name, like Baal or Asmodeus. The original plan was for him to be a responsible figure in Lucifer's life but not a very close and kind one (the first scenes I imagined with him were the meeting-Lucifer scene and the fighting with Lucifer about his behavior scene).

Then, I wrote the first scenes with him and he immediately took on a life of his own, and I realized he was becoming a larger character than I expected. I immediately started seeing his relationship with both Asmodeus and Lucifer to be deeper than planned. About halfway through the book, I remember hesitating and wondering if I should change his name to Ashtoreth; I was thinking of the line in Judges 2:12-13 that reads, "They aroused the Lord's anger because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths."

I also considered Abaddon, but Abaddon is a can of worms; namely, Revelation really seems to imply that Abaddon is just Satan, or at least someone very important and this conflicted with the original concept of Rosier — a demon so unknown that he's only in a few demonology books.

I did light research into Rosier, since I knew there was basically nothing out there except for demonology sites making things up (I mean no offense, angel sites also love to say random made-up things with authority). I noticed that he had a common association with tainted or doomed love, and I considered the development I had planned for him and Asmodeus. I also liked that his name was so wildly different in etymology from others — it lended itself into the more nonsensical aspect of angel society, like the weird mashup of cultures in their buildings.

So, I kept Rosier as Rosier. He's meant to be unimportant to the narrative of the Bible, and I think it provides a really nice contrast to such a big figure as Lucifer, who everyone and their mother knows. The concept of a demon so bad at being a demon that he isn't known at all was also on my mind, though I guess you will see a bit of that in the books to come :)

Yeah, like, I feel there's 2 big things left for the show to do with Kenny before his character is essentially completed: Finally getting that "immortal curse" backstory{which stands a bigger chance with the specials} and a full unmuffled episode. Everything else is a bonus after that. (If we somehow get both wrapped in one, I have nothing else to ask Matt and Trey for. xD)

Yeah still waiting on a true Kenny origins story episode/special where Kenny,most likely as a proper return of Mysterion, continues where he left off searching for the true reasons behind his immortality. Ha and least given both him and the audience the answer he so deserves for being stuck with his curse for so long. Would love too if Kenny even went a little mad as he goes through dangerous lengths to desperately find out why the universe stuck him with such a curse.

A full unmuffled episode would also be a nice bonus and I guess it'd count if they did Kenny's origin special as Mysterion. Or ha have some parts with Mysterion taking off his mask and hood and just speaks as Kenny while still partially wearing the costume? So many ideas with these ideas.

But yeah I do hope before South Park eventually comes to its end we get a true story on what started out as one of its most popular running jokes.

I actually imagine Ravin having an autotune natural voice like Guy Diamond. 😅 But her autotune doesn't sound like his that's... I dunno what to call it — stereotypical autotune? skjdjdj — and is more like just high pitched vocals (especially when Ravin gets loud or excited). I don't know the proper words to describe it so I looked up a few happy hardcore songs for help.. I imagine her sounding a lot like the singer (and the autotune/distortion) in this song:
