Shuffling my library of digital music tracks and listing the first 20 songs:

I believe there is an algorithm that sorts songs to be shuffled, in my music player.

It doesn't seem to be true randomness. It may be choosing songs that "link" together by some metric, end-to-beginning. I notice how much they carry a certain tune, though I have a lot of different music. Whenever I start on a certain note, it carries the note. It matters what the starting seed is.

I could be a Stickler: when each song ends, I could pause afterwards, go to the head of my library and press this button:

...but I didn't feel like it, this time.

favourite time of year: autumn. like november when it gets down into the 60s and it’s super nice.

comfort food: tbh any good bread. bread good.

do you collect anything: magnets from tourist places. packs of cards. (this serves a practical purpose bc i love playing a specific game where everyone needs their own deck).

favourite drink: diet dr pepper unfortunately is what honestly demands i answer

favourite music artists: suddenly all artists i know have fled from my brain? um. veridia, simon and garfunkel, john williams, abba, metric, lydia ainsworth? that’s kind of a solid range.

current favourite songs: everything on TWICE’s eyes wide open, burner by returning forward, and call me by blondie are maybe the main things on repeat rn?

- when diana was a child, she had a picture perfect life. her mom and dad seemed happy and in love and she was doted on constantly, up until the age of nine when everything suddenly changed.

- her dad lost his job due to staff cut backs and struggled to find another, instead he would spend his free time sat in front of the television and drinking his life away.

- once he had drank, thomas turned nasty - hurling insults at his family and especially picking on diana when it came to her looks and weight; manipulating her to believe that she would never be good enough to be loved by a man, she was too fat.. too ugly.

- this led to becoming physical abuse against his wife and eldest daughter until lydia decided she had had enough, divorcing him when diana was thirteen years old.

- after he had left the house, things seemed to improve but unfortunately diana could never get his words out of her head and she began spiralling into over exercising and starving herself; something that was made easier due to playing soccer.

after leaving school, diana went on to work at family video; not quite sure on where she wanted to go with her life but one thing was certain, she would not be letting her walls down when it came to men. often declaring she would never be married.

- knows that there is something going on more than she is being told when it comes to the town, doesn’t believe the cover up stories for one second.

- has a lot of trust issues.

- tends to have flings with men as believes she will never be good enough or wanted for anything more than that.

fine mild morning – F49 ½° at 9 a.m. – settled with Wilson the joiner – breakfast at 10 with Marian – then talking to her and afterwards a little to my aunt at 11 – out at 1 5 - at Lidgate in 25 minutes – Mr Day came almost immediately and on seeing Miss W-‘s back said it was as much better within the last than he expected as it was worse in the fortnight preceding - there was then a little curvature between the shoulders - to go on rubbing as before –Humbug! I very civil civil to him shook hands and half persuaded him to vote for Worley (instead of Briggs) another time - walked with Miss W- to Cliff Hill, and staid there about ¾ hour - left her at home to dine while I called to inquire after Mrs William Priestley - better - at dinner - would not remain in the drawing room for her to come to me, but followed the servants and per force entered the little far sitting room where she was - she jumped up angrily saying ‘I admit nobody here’ and came out to take me back to the drawing room - I in astonishment declared it was not John’s fault - begged a thousand pardons - said I would not stay - would not take her into the other room and came away and she having only time to ask if I would call again to which I made no reply - returned to Miss W- took a little dinner with her and sat with her till 5 50 - home in ½ hour at 6 20 - I had taken her letter from her aunt Ploughs that John brought last night advised her not to advance money on loan but buy such and so many of the reversionary shares as she could she had begun the copy of a letter to her sister to ask her opinion and advice about living with me if her sister approves she will do it and it is to be as a marriage between us she kept to this even after the letter came from Miss Bentley with a melancholy account of Mr Ainsworth he again forcing herself on his notice by begging to know what he is to do with her letters to Mrs A- and if he is to give back the silver tea kettle Miss W- had given to Mrs A- and which the latter wished to revert to her all a very unfair intruding of himself upon her remembrance and notice after all that has passed as Miss W- herself allowed she was melancholy for about an hour but then recovered her spirits amazingly sat on my knee while I grubbled her with my left middle finger she owned she loved me seemed more satisfied and happy than usual reconciled to go abroad and if our being together was all but certain depending only [on] her sister the letter to go next Tuesday might have the answer that day week we had talked of letting Lydia Wilkinson and Mr Fenton have Lidgate to be at Lidgate at 10 ½ on Monday to meet Mr Parker relative to Mrs Clarkes’ administrator accounts - thought as I returned well it may or may not be I will think or care a little about it till it is finally settled one way or the other and either way will do – Pickles here today but not his son – I suppose he did the bit of draining in the upper holm Ing bottom of wood filed adjoining Carrs’, and then perhaps finished laying causeway in Tilly holm – John finished planting out box and removed 2 laurels into the garden – dinner at 6 ½ - afterwards sent off to the ‘Honourable Lady Stuart Richmond Park, Surrey’ the H-x Guardian of this morning - read from 137 to 211 Forrester’s guide and wrote the whole of the above of today till 9 50 - then went into the other room - skimmed over the courier - told my aunt the little affair with Mrs Priestley - came to my room at 10 40 - fine mild day – F47° at 10 50 pm - sat up till near twelve writing a copy of the letter for Miss W- to Miss Bentley

idk how to describe my musical tastes. i guess i could put them in a 3-axis graph, like this, and just kinda let the artists fall where they may

ive always enjoyed obscure and acoustic indie artists, as well as weird and obscure rock bands and mainstream rock bands. im always scared to "actively" listen to music for some reason. ill just find something i like and then seek it out organically after listening it.

pink floyd - i used to listen to my mom's pink floyd CDs on my sisters stereo a lot. my mom bought them to entertain guests whenever her friends would come over for drinks. 'Animals' is my favorite, and i never got into 'Dark Side of the Moon' that much but i liked its themes. 'Animals' gives me feelings of being a kid and imagining what it's like to be an adult. if you look at the album art for 'Wish You Were Here' along with the art and lyrics in the CD booklet, it all gives a very futuristic machination feel and it unnerved me so much i didnt listen to it. it scared me. now i love it, and its my favorite PF album art. look up tattoos of it, its great.

the real tuesday weld - contender for my fav band. i own physical music from them more than any other artist. i saw the video for Bathtime In Clerkenwell as a kid on MTV and it blew me away (anyone who knows me knows i love animation + black and white + russian art). when i realized it wasnt just a video but a music video for a band, i went down this rabbit hole of the entire band and it made me appreciate weird electronic lounge music. this is what P!ATD tried to do but failed spectacularly. its music from the past if they had the tools of the future. i listen to their music and i feel like im dreaming, its ethereal. their last album they released (the next to last to be released) was called Dreams and thats what i feel when i hear them.

i think my fav songs lately are Let It Come Down (calming jazz lounge) Silicone (noir theme for two fucked up lovers) One More Chance (cabaret duet letter from Lucifer addressed to God). one of my fav videos is probably the one for Me And Mr Wolf (contains blood and cartoon violence) my popsocket is lifted right from the video. it looks rough, i know

the peculiar pretzelmen - i heard these dudes bc i was actually looking for music like TRTW. they describe themselves as "voodoo death stomp" and it reminds me i love sad angry folk music and bluegrass. you, yes you, specifically, notfredjohnson, ive told about them to before. i have listened to a LOT of their work all year and are my current go to for music to listen to during my drive to work.
