My first show post-injuries was a fun alien-themed house party where I played with a bunch of dudes that I know really well and respect. I almost blew it when I forgot the 12V power cable for my WASP, but thankfully another performer had a 12V and the day was saved at the last minute. Many more pictures are coming later.

Hi, sorry to ask in the first place because I know this is a blog about women, but I was wondering if you have any recommendations of interesting transmasc and/or nonbinary afab musicians. Thanks in advance :)
I can think of three transmasc artists off the top of my head:
PussyVision, an electronic artist out of Massachusetts
Danny Orlowski from Deli Girls from NYC
Seven from noise duo Sibling, who I think are also from NYC
Heather Gabel from Hide, Reagan Holliday, Pain Chain, and Matana Roberts are all nonbinary, and we feature their work here in the Nonbinary Noise tag.
Also (If I count), there's me, @aleprouswitch AKA Leperwitch. I'm nonbinary/genderfluid with a mostly femme presentation. I make noise/power electronics out of Chattanooga.

as usual for recent years, I kind of drew a blank whenever I tried to think about what I listened to this this year that was good, but I ended up coming up with more than I thought I would. I'm probably straight up forgetting about a bunch of stuff that came out earlier in the year
some random notes about some of the albums on the list:
It might actually be worth making a separate post about Vrasubatlat. I loved that label and I was sad to see it come to an end, but I look forward to seeing what they'll do with their new bands
It would be a pain to try to confirm it, but I think the first track on the I Crawled demo was my most-played song from a 2023 album. It was the perfect fit for my state of mind on a lot of shitty days
The Khanate album honestly didn't make as much of an impression on me as I expected and hoped, but I might just need to listen to it more. Most importantly, I'm just happy that it happened at all
now the traditional list of things that would probably be on the main list except I haven't listened to them yet. I think it'll be shorter than usual so that's great

for personal notes, it was a weird year for reasons I don't want to get too deep into. Just a lot of good and bad shit happening at more or less the same time. I was able to have more of a social life than I had in years, but my job made me feel like I was going to die every day. It's okay now, no worries
I haven't been as active creatively the past couple of months as I hoped to be, but things are happening. This year I performed live for the first time since 2017 and released a couple of albums. I wrote some things that I'm happy with. The local music scene seems to be thriving lately and it feels amazing to be making myself a part of it again
#understand that whenever I said this year I meant 2023#I'm mentally permanently stuck somewhere around 2012 so we're lucky if I even remember that it's actually the 2020s
