This was an idea I came up with while doing Kanji copy work, and the character '悪' (warui) in the Kanji dictionary I've been using just comes with a whole lot of example words, all of which are negative. Which was when I was like, "I can so imagine Atsushi quoting this at Akutagawa" Also one of the pronunciations is 'Aku' which while a different Kanji from the one used in the name 'Akutagawa Ryuunosuke', is still kind of funny. Hence 'malice' being pronounced as 'aku-i' and 'evil deed' as 'aku-ji'
Didn't really know how to draw Rashoumon, but I ended up going with dragon heads. Cause I feel like I've heard it described similar to dragons somewhere, and it was fun.
Also, kinda random but-
Writing Atsushi and Akutagawa shouting at each other is hilarious.
:D

LEARNING ABOUT JAPANESE CULTURE WITH BSD MEN
➪ requests : “Can i request atsushi, dazai and tecchou with foreign gf?” - anonymous
“Hey, love!! Could I request Chuuya and Kunikida (separately) with a gender neutral s/o who isn't native Japanese and struggles with talking Japanese and things like chopsticks? <3 - Anon 🥂” - anonymous ( 🥂 ? )
➪ other notes : these prompts were very similar so i decided why not combine them ! this is actually the first time i get very similar prompts at the same time, but i feel as if i didn’t do this enough justice so i apologize, non edited
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Atsushi Nakajima :
- god he’s so patient with you, even if you’re not a fast japanese learner, he’ll always help you out by smiling and gently correcting you
- i feel as if his orphanage offered some type of short term class to learn english even if it was just the basics
- so while he teaches you japanese, you’re teaching him more english
- the first meal he ever introduces to you is chazuke, a comfort food to him that he hopes will also satisfy you
- if you struggle with your chopsticks, he would softly place your fingers where they’re supposed to be, with a pink blush on his face
- when both of you go to festivals, he’ll help you pick out a kimono or a yukata
- even though he thinks you look lovely in every color, his face will always soften when you wear purple, preferably iris or periwinkle
- atsushi tries his best to teach you money currency but will sometimes disregard it since he grew up with no money
- “struggling with kanji?” atsushi said with an accent as he sat next to you
- you nodded, trying to find the correct words to express your frustration in japanese
- you sigh leaning your head on his shoulder, he knows you’re mad so he soothes you
- 9/10 experience with this sweet boy, he has his mini flaws but he’s all around perfect
Tumblr media
Osamu Dazai :
- he’s definitely the type of guy to quiz you on japanese and when you get it right, he gives you a kiss as a “prize”
- he definitely knows english, he just chooses to act dumb at times
- he definitely makes you eat canned crab with him but there’s times where he’ll splurge on real crab for you, a purchase he doesn’t regret
- when you’re struggling with your chopsticks, he’ll come from behind you, molding himself against you to fix your hold on your chopsticks
- do not take him shopping for a kimono or a yukata, he’ll make you try on all of them
- i feel as if he’d love to see you in a saphire blue or a french blue, he’d giggle with a coy smile
- he teaches you about money but only when you spend it ( he’d definitely leech off of you and take advantage of your lack of knowledge )
- due to him knowing english, you normally don’t speak japanese with him, but when you do, he encourages you
- “here let me help you,” dazai says in english wrapping himself behind you casually
- he places both of his hand on your dominant hand, fixing its posture
- he places a kiss on your cheek from behind you, lingering onto you as you try your best to say “go away” in japanese
- 7/10 experience, despite his slight lack of care for your money, he’s a sweet guy to be with
Tumblr media
Tecchou Suehiro :
- honestly i can imagine him forgetting that you’re not fluent in japanese, like you can be having a conversation and you look at him perplexed and he realizes what the problem is
- i think he knows english but isn’t really fluent but he still tries his best for you
- DO NOT EAT ANYTHING HE MAKES FOR YOU !!! you will get food poisoning from his awful creations of food
- honestly you’d need to ask him to help you with your chopsticks, most of the time he wouldn’t notice it
- but he’d basically demonstrate where your fingers are supposed to go rather than move around your fingers
- due to his work, he can’t really take any time off to shop for a kimono/yukata, though if he did, he’d just follow your every move
- he likes seeing you in kinda like a maroonish color with maybe a yellow sash
- idk what you expected, he’s the weirdest guy in this list who likes random combinations including your clothing
- he doesn’t really teach you about money but if you ask, he’d explain it to the best of his ability
- “i made some food for you,” tecchou said, sounding out the words
- “thank you,” you smile back at him, knowing you weren’t about to eat the abomination of food he just made for you
- 8/10 experience, he’s all around perfect except that you might get food poisoning
Tumblr media
Chuuya Nakahara :
- another patient guy like atsushi when it comes to you except that when he gets annoyed, he blows up at you accidentally
- he’s another guy who knows english due to the port mafia, but he prefers not to speak it as he can’t fully show his emotions
- chuuya doesn’t particularly have a favorite meal to share with you, what he does have is expensive bottles of wine that would create the perfect late night date
- but if you don’t really like wine, then he probably provides you with any high quality food, i personally think he has a thing for rice
- if you ever ask for help with chopsticks, he either does what atsushi does and fix your fingers or he would tell you to get a fork
- he would literally order custom made kimonos/yukatas for you, he wants then to be perfect for his beloved
- you cannot tell me he’d love to see you in black, can’t really take out the mafia in this guy
- another person who doesn’t teach you about money because he insists he’ll cover all of your costs, you just need to pay with his cash or swipe his card
- “money ? nah you don’t need to learn about it, i’ll pay for anything and everything you need and want,” chuuya says taking a sip of wine
- “are you sure ? i don’t want to make you feel like i’m taking advantage of you,” you said slowly still learning japanese
- “yeah don’t worry about it,” the orange haired man said inviting you to take a sip of his wine
- 9/10 experience with chuu, he does get annoyed when you don’t understand him the first few times, but he makes up for it
Tumblr media
Doppo Kunikida :
- you probably learn japanese the fastest if you’re with him, he quite literally forces it down your throat so you can adapt quickly
- agree with me or not, i think he doesn’t know english BUT he would learn it so quickly to make communication with you easier
- this guy definitely cooks you home made meals, oden being his first dish he introduces you to, something you both thoroughly enjoy
- if you struggle with chopsticks, he’d give you a clear description on how to properly use them
- he also tends to give you books on japanese culture knowing that the more informed you are, the better
- if he has time, he does take you kimono/yukata shopping, often looking for good quality at a deserved expense
- he absolutely loves seeing you in green, typically emerald or basil, his face turning red as if he sees you try them on
- he’s the only man on his list who genuinely teaches you about money and living cost
- “are you sure i need all of these books,” you question as he stacks them up in front of you
- “i want you to become independent as soon as possible in the occasion i might not be here to help you,” he says, pushing his glasses up
- you deadpan but still thank him for caring about your needs more than you even do
- 10/10 experience with kunikida, he’s quite literally the ideal boyfriend in this situation, not leaving you ignorant in a new country

(Totally didn’t just request this because I’m learning Japanese and some of this grammar and kanji are killing me lmaooo)
Thanks :DDD
"A Little Help!! ♡˖" Atsushi Nakajima x M!Reader
Warnings; I have very minimal knowledge on Japanese, so please do bare with me lol, probably bad translations, but other than that pure fluff!!
Description; Atsushi and Ranpo helping their partner with their Japanese skills
Tumblr media
A/N; IM SO SORRY I ONLY DID ONE CHARACTER BC I HAVE VERY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE ON THE LANGUAGE AND DIDNT WANNA REPEAT SCENARIOS SO I USED GOOGLE TRANSLATE BUT I PUT WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO SAY AT THE BOTTOM BUT PLS DO TELL IF YOU WANT ME TO RE-WRITE IT THO I ABSOLUTELY WILL ♡ GOOD LUCK IN YOUR LEARNING 💓
Atsushi is gonna teach you everything you need to know if you're struggling with the language. He'll teach you how to memorize and recognize the kanji since he is well acquainted with the symbols.
Scenario !! ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
Recently, you've really been taking the initiative to better your Japanese skills, but identifying all the different kanji was quite the hurdle to jump without landing flat on your face. When speaking the language, you had no problem with basic stuff, but when it came to actually reading the language, it got a little more difficult. Luckily for you, you happened to have a boyfriend who was fluent in the language.
Occasionally you would hang around the Ada, using it as an opportunity to utilize the words and phrases you knew. Ofcourse there was some anxiety regarding conversation going further than you pleased and crossing into topics you couldn't fluently speak on. You figured it could be a good learning experience though, so you powered through the long days at the agency, acting as a secretary.
Your ears perked up at the quiet sound of the door opening, a woman walking in, your boyfriend Atsushi following behind her. You give them both a small smile, not quite sure if she was going to speak with you or not yet. Then, she opened her mouth.
"Kon'nichiwa, Kunikida-san to hanashite mo īdesu ka?" ¹ She asks, her head tilted ever so slightly. Her short brown hair sways to one side while she speaks. You think for a moment before replying
"Mōshiwakearimasenga, kare wa ima koko ni imasen." ² You tell her, remembering that Kunikida and Ranpo had gone somewhere on investigation earlier that morning and have yet to return. You give her that one look of faux sympathy or apology as you talk. Atsushi listens to you speak, smiling and giving you a thumbs up from behind the woman, essentially cheering you on. He walks around the woman and stands at your side.
"Ā, daijōbudesu. Ashita no yoyaku o shite mo īdesu ka?" ³ You swallowed a small lump on your throat before looking over at Atsushi for help. "She wants to make an appointment for tomorrow to speak with Kunikida. Do you know how to reply?" He asks, a reassuring smile on his face. "Kare wa mada gengo o benkyō-chūdesuga, wa i, dekimasu." ⁴ You hear him say to the woman, to which she replies with an understanding nod. You wrack your brain quickly for a response, and you find one.
"Nanji?" You reply, praying that you remembered the correct phrase for your question, but when you aren't met with a small giggle or sigh of annoyance, you feel a lot better. She tells you the time and asks to have it written down on a small piece of paper because of her poor memory. You grabbed a sticky note from the desk with a pen, scribbling down the time and handing it to her. Atsushi watches you write, his gaze soft as he takes a seat next to you. The woman thanks you and leaves, the door clicking again just as it had done when she entered.
"See, you did pretty good." He says with a smile, resting his head in his hand. You sigh, doubtful of your accuracy in the conversation. "Yeah, I probably did, but I couldn't have the conversation fully on my own. You had to translate one of her sentences." You say, putting your head down and resting it on your folded forearms. He rubs your back gently, patting it after a couple seconds.
"Hey, that's not a bad thing. Me telling you what that means is only gonna help you recognize it later." He says, trying his best to reassure you. "If you really want to be able to strive without..in the moment help, you can always ask me to teach you stuff." He smiles warmly. You give him a smile and sit upwards again, his hand sliding down to the small of your back now.
"That would actually be really nice." You stare into his pretty eyes, taking in his facial features, seemingly studying them harder than you studied Japanese. He blushed under your stare and averted his eyes to look at his lap instead. "What specifically do you have a hard time with?" He says, his voice relatively quiet as you both sat in the otherwise silent room. "Kanji." You reply instantly, knowing that if a part of a language could oppose you, it would be kanji.
Your boyfriend nods in understanding, having figured that kanji would be your toughest subject, given how similar a lot of them look. "Okay. You can come back to my apartment tonight if you want and I can teach you. We can scrape together some money and buy take out, too." He says with a smile. You nod in agreement before you both go about the rest of your day, eagerly looking forward to that evening.
When you both arrive back to his apartment, Atsushi grabs some paper and pens, handing you one of them. He guides you to sit at the kitchen table. He writes down some kanji symbols in his neatest handwriting.
"Alright, here, tell me the difference between these two." On the paper, the symbols "緑" and "縁" are written. "Well..the bottom right corners are different from the other." You say. He nods in confirmation. "Yeah! See? You have to really observe each symbol." He says with a smile. This goes on for a while, Atsushi teaching you how to differentiate the symbols as well as telling you their meanings before you've both tired yourselves out enough to nearly fall asleep as soon as your body hit the couch. Atsushi hugged your torso as he layed on your chest, his head in the crook of your neck.
"But yeah, that's basically as simple as it is." He says with a yawn, seemingly dismissing the topic of your second language for the moment. You brush some of his hair out of his face while he cuddles into your chest some more. "Yeah, I mean, it really doesn't seem that hard, but it's easier to say something like that then to act like it." You murmur back, pressing a gentle kiss to his head. "But I've got such a great boyfriend to help me, huh?" You say happily, to which he nods. "And I've got such a great boyfriend to teach."
A/N #2; here's the guide as promised 😞💔 this sat in my drafts for like the past two weeks but im so glad i finally fulfilled it. Sometimes
Tumblr media
1~ Hello, may I speak with Kunikida?
2~ I'm sorry, he's not here right now.
3~ Oh, its alright. Can I make an appointment for tomorrow?
4~ hes still learning the language, but yes, you can
5~ What time?

bsd hc dump except they’re all either thoughtful ideas of actions/opinions they would do/have or the stupidest things you’ve ever read!!
no these are not in any order :) enjoy
alongside his whole cleanse-the-world-of-sin thing, fyodor’s secondary life goal is to learn as many string instruments as he can, own at least one of each, and dedicate an entire room to them. the only other one that knows is sigma, and they’re… honestly not even surprised
kunikida can speak spanish well enough to have an everyday conversation with someone, but he’s not totally fluent (i also like to think he’s very fascinated by the different dialects and knows a ton of variations of certain phrases)
because of this, dazai has committed exactly 5 spanish words to memory. all of them are insults. he uses them on chuuya sometimes thinking he doesnt understand (alas, he’s close to fluent and often returns these tiny insults with entire vulgar speeches in spanish)
while we’re on the topic of languages, sigma is completely fluent in both japanese and russian. fyodor and gogol (both non-native japanese speakers) are pretty good with the speech and pronunciation part, but they have a hard time reading and writing kanji, so they’ll often go and use sigma as a walking google translate
kyouka likes rock music! atsushi found her with headphones on once, asked if he could hear, and immediately got blasted to the other side of the room by mcr
atsushi, however, likes actual rocks. he has a little collection on the windowsill by his desk in the agency <33
the black lizard have game nights together once a month. higuchi caught them all heading to hirotsu’s place together and asked what they were doing, and when they told her, she immediately asked to join. a few months after she started tagging along, akutagawa was soon dragged into it as well. this is how they found out akutagawa is a huge rage-quitter (hirotsu has had to buy three new game tables since)
louisa and poe occasionally go out for coffee together. not on dates or anything, just to sit in each other’s quiet company and get work done together alongside delicious beverages. one time while the guild was still assembled, lucy asked louisa if she wanted a certain kind of coffee (she was practicing so she could eventually land her current job), and poe answered with her exact order before she did
during the dark era, dazai jokingly made a set of those neon loom friendship bracelets for oda, ango, and himself. today, ango still has his and oda’s, which he managed to save. it’s one of, if not the only remaining physical object that could ever prove oda’s existence.
anyway, back to the happy stuff- gogol and sigma are huge reptile nerds, especially lizards! gogol caught one once, and they spent hours playing around with it. fyodor passive-aggressively stared at them from across the room while reading a book on rats the whole time.
despite this, sigma can’t stand snakes. anything else scaley is cool, just not snakes- they do find most spiders adorable, though. gogol, on the other hand, is the complete opposite; he loves snakes and will burn the entire sky casino down if a single spider comes within a 2 mile range of it.
50% of mori’s obsession with elise comes from… y’all know what… but the other 50% is from his love for fashion and need for a model. apparently, he decided elise was the perfect candidate, and spoils her rotten trying to find her an outfit that not only he believes is stylish, but she finds agreeable as well (so far, he’s had no success)
one of steinbeck’s sisters is a professional hairdresser, so he knows a lot about hair care. as soon as he saw the state of lovecraft’s hair, he decided he absolutely would not have this and proceeded to spend the next three hours thoroughly detangling and cleansing it. other than steinbeck himself, louisa was the only one who got to touch it before lovecraft immediately jumped into the ocean again (she said it was perhaps the softest thing she’d ever felt with her own two hands. poe is secretly dying to feel it too someday)
ranpo often takes kenji, atsushi, and occasionally tanizaki out with him on snack shopping sprees! they all usually get addressed as “young boys”, despite only one of the three actually being a child- unless tanizaki comes along, in which case he is usually assumed to be the oldest in charge of the group.
ok that’s all my stupid tiny hands can type for now. please rb with some of your own hcs if you like, i lovelovelove seeing other people’s ideas on these stupid little guys

a/n: I revisited BSD Bibliophile's post on irl BSD authors' handwriting, and I got inspired so yes HAHA does not translate one to one
ranking their handwriting
featuring: everyone in the ADA
from BEST to WORST
Kunikida. We all know his handwriting is neat (it's canon) but the fact he keeps it neat even in the quickest and simplest occasions (aka in his notebook/ability) AND he does calligraphy means he probably has the cleanest penmanship.
Fukuzawa. I think he's close because he's the type to write "like an adult" (more angled characters). It's canon that he's a "cultured man" so I suppose he may have an interest in maintaining some aesthetic value in his writing, but more "free" than Kunikida's.
Haruno. She write in a legible style so it's easy for the President to read (but also for herself). It tends to look rushed but the proportions are maintained so it's still easy to read
Naomi. Yes it's in the "kawaii" style but it's still quite easy on the eyes. I rank her lower than Haruno because being a student usually speed is preferred over legibility.
Tanizaki. His handwriting looks... average. It's not too slanted nor too wildly written, although it tends to be a little squished which can make more complicated kanji harder to read.
Yosano. "What? But she's a doctor!" Compared to the others, she ranks better than them because it still looks good. You know, like an adult wrote it. Because of how it is in medicine penmanship isn't really something she worked or is working on.
Kyouka. She's young so she's still working on some of her characters, but since she tries to make it look good then she ranks 7th.
Kenji. He can write but not that well. It's not something he does often, which is why he ranks low.
Atsushi. Even if learned how to write in the orphanage, the opportunity for him to actually practice is close to none. The only reason why he's higher in the other two is because he actually tries.
Dazai. He can write better if he wanted to. But he doesn't. It's "part of his charm" or whatever random justification he has - actually, he's just lazy.
Ranpo. He doesn't even try. Puts the barest minimum effort in making in readable. He doesn't even see the point of making it look nicer. "If you're smart enough, you can read it!" Like, man it's characters not a cipher.

So Episode 103.
We get some backstory for Xyz Dimension.
Allen was part of Clover School, which had Yusho had as one of the teachers, which explains why ARC-V Kaito was more egao than usual. Allen states Yusho is a coward because he left shortly before Academia's invasion, and as we later find out, he went to Fusion to lead the interal resistance there, leaving Xyz out in the cold.
Kaito's entire family was carded, so that makes Dr. Faker, Orbital 7, and Haruto (and other Orbitals owned by Dr. Faker). I guess you can card a robot.
Xyz cast notice the similarities between Yuya, and Yuto. As we later find out, Yuto's egaoism is from Ruri, though Yuya doesn't know that right now.
The mother from the previous episodes come to the hideout (near Rokujuro's dojo) to get soup. Yuya blames himself for being too immature.
Meanwhile, Yuzu is stuck at the city in Fusion Dimension. Though the architecture of the city is based on Venice, this is supposed to be Domino City in Fusion, since in GX, the ship that arrives from Japan to Academia's Pacific island docks in Domino City.
Asuka makes short work of Juvenile Officers, whose colour schemes are based off two girl exam personnel from early GX (people think they are Ra Yellow students... they are not), while their outfits are based Academia officers from Meikyu Bros. duel.
You Show Duel School in Fusion is a sanctuary for Academia escapees. An "Outer Heaven", if you prefer.
These are the bylines, here's the meta:
Allen's entire being is a in-joke to one of Shin Yoshida's interviews for the ZEXAL manga commentary, where he claimed he wanted to make Anna a male character, but higher up refused. So Katsumi Ono gave him a male Anna as a very obvious in-joke.
Asuka won't get a major Duel after this. There are couple reasons why she is here, and not Ryo, or some other character.
The main reason is one of the new writers from old shows is Atsushi Maekawa, who wrote Asuka's debut, and some of the Judai-Asuka episodes.
Second reason is that Cyber Angels were not physically printed back in the GX, so this served as an excuse to print their cards.
The third reason is we needed another Ritual representative (for DSoD tie-in), and since we weren't going to have DM characters, that limited to options to GX.
Fourthly, we needed a legacy character for Yuzu to bond with, since everyone else got one.
Vrash's statline is the same as Armed Dragon LV10, though this card supposed to be her Neos Wiseman equivalent, as we discussed before. Due to punny, non-standard Kanji of the new Cyber Angels, I suspect these were inteded to be released back in ZEXAL era, so Asuka is only prominent legacy character due to circumstances.
Since Yuzu, and Yuya won't reunite until the final scene of the series, Sayaka will get a huge role in Xyz as the obligatory female character, and Yuzu's whereabouts will be important for a while, similar to how MJ got large segments in older Spider-Man comics after her marriage with Peter. She won't duel in these though. This really is Kingdom Hearts.
In all likelihood, Yuzu's segments were originally conceived to avoid more episodes to explain aspects of Fusion Dimension Yuya wasn't going to bother with in the likely original 4-year-long-series plan. Since Yuya ends up being bothered with some of these stuff, this ends up cutting more of Xyz arc.
Though Yusho was present in Xyz, and Fusion, for some reason he wasn't in Synchro, I guess he never learned to ride a motorbike from Yoko.

I'm adding more RAU's to the AU as well
Zane! Akutagawa
Laurence! Bartender OC
Garroth! Fitzgerald's son OC
KP! Lucy
The Memories differ from person to person and can remember at different points
Akutagawa gradually remembers the more he encounters Atsushi
Though Atsushi doesn't recognize his Soul at first
The deaths happened during/after the War on Phoenix Drop
Laurence is a bartender, he looks like his old orange hair ver
They all often attend Laurence's Bar at some point
Akutagawa is Clawien's Zane, a clone that has to channal outside magic, he uses both Dark and Light
...Dazai's enbandonment would hit harder bc of Claw's Amniesa
Atsushi gets kidnapped by Aku differently
He TP's to Aku when they are both off of work because he believes he won't come after him then
(The Kyoka bait didn't work bc he tped away and put a barrier on Kyouka to block the tracker)
Lucy's familiar Soul gives Atsushi a strong motive for the Guild arc
That kid willing gets himself kidnapped
Though, Lucy uses a magic blocking barrier to drive him to bordem
Zane/Aku are the Dark/Light magic one, basically the same one I used for Rogue's Devil Persona
(Unposted until all arcana are filled)
So hevilly religious and mage based
The parallels with Fyodor are uncanny
Atsushi sometimes talks to a random light source when he needs advice
Reference to one of KP's OCs that used Light magic
Atsushi always had his memories, but his amniesa balances it out
In the PL world the Language is based on the MC enchanting table, basically that worlds English
I like the idea of Laurence's once yelling at Dazai to pay his tab in it
Atsushi will have his Juice with a sippy straw
The Bar is OC based and not from BSD
Atsushi's yellow highlight/tiger eyes are pink
Akutagawa has freckles and sky blue eyes
-
Joint Ability name for the Incarnates
The Rise of Phoenix Drop* Inventory & source of the Reincarnations
A spell preformed by KP to let those that perished to live on, draining her of her magic causing her to incarnate into Lucy
-
Atsushi has one of Zane's old Cross (White/Black) pearl bracelet(from his inventory),
he shows it to Akutagawa during the Ship Fight while in agonizing pain from Aku using his scar/weak point
Atsushi's Aura would be Blue with Orange specks
Atsushi will eventually unlock his wings, from an extremely hard fight alongside Akutagawa
Outfit upgrades for each Season
1,2,Movie,3,4
After season 1, Akutagawa will start unconsciously wearing face masks
Atsushi believes that he will only be hunted by Akutagawa when they are on the job, that is what got him kidnapped
To Kunikida's dismay and Dazai's pleasure, Atsushi still often forgets stuff
During the Movie Dead Apple, Atsushi's Amnesia will go with his Ability
Because of All Men are Equal, Fukuzawa can feel a multitude of Souls/Abilities within Atsushi's 'The Rise of Phoenix Drop'
Atsushi's merged Ability is 'The Moonlit Beast'
When he becomes one with them in Dead Apple
Atsushi is given a hoodie by Junichiro after constantly stealing his
Akutagawa first summons Zane's bladed staff during the Fitzgerald fight
-
Akutagawa has a scar on his neck because he was executed
Zane went ballistic when Clawien fell in the War, he was mistaken for the original Zane and executed
-
Atsushi is often used as a shield against mental Abilities
He wears his tie backwards and is often pulled back by it
He guessed Dazai's past job after multiple tries
Atsushi and Akutagawa both can't swim and will grab onto the nearest object or person to them
Atsushi often curls up to get comfy or feel safe
-
Atsushi has a big butterfly shaped scare covering his back
His back is really sensitive
He was shot out of the sky and stabbed in his wing blades
-
Atsushi has empathy and can sense people's Souls
He had trouble learning Kanji
When plauged by nightmares Atsushi will be in a bad mood until he gets a good nights sleep
He is passive aggressive when someone pisses him off
Atsushu is very clingy and touchy, he also loves play fights

👉👈 atsushi ☺️, akutagawa, dazai, and chuuya (separately) head cannons with an s/o who's learning Japanese plz?
Ive been teaching myself japanese and working hard on it and I get to go to school for it next year☺️
Love chu! ❤️
Learning Japanese Hc | Atsushi, Akutagawa, Dazai & Chuuya x Reader |
~Atsushi~
He thanks you for learning his language.
It’s a given he knows very little to almost no English.
He knew enough to communicate with you but used a translator 75% of the time.
Can’t help you learn much verbally but will do his best using pictures.
He’ll eventually have Dazai help teach you.
He actually sits in on the lessons to learn English from the Japanese lessons.
He’s relieved when the two of you can communicate normally and fluidly with one another and other people.
~Akutagawa~
He’s actually quite glad you’re learning Japanese
He never really mentioned it before but it truly was a small thing he disliked, how it was hard to communicate completely.
Sure he knows English and several other languages but he still had to translate things because he's not completely fluent.
Shockingly, he's going to help you learn.
If you're out and about and come across a word you don’t know, simply turn to him, he’ll translate for you the first few times.
He’s kinda a strict teacher and tends to get frustrated and start yelling.
He does eventually learn some restraint when trying to help you out.
You’ll know most of the cusses in no time at all. You’ll also know how to write his name out.
~Dazai~
He’s ecstatic that you’re learning!
He’s 100% up to help.
Will translate for you.
Definitely one of the few people in the agency who is fluent in more than Japanese.
Will correct you if you mess up.
Gives you homework to do T_T.
Will not let mistakes slide.
He does enjoy a little game or two here and there to make it fun.

Dead Apple Analysis and questions
Hello everyone who reads my text!
I'm sorry if the text wasn't formatted very well.
I hope you will feel good while reading, even if I have described things that others have already described.
!Dead Apple spoilers!
I have read some theories lately about Ango (which I really liked so thank you), that's why I rewatch again Dead Apple movie.
I noticed something about the soundtrack at 21:26 and 22:02 sec. They talk something. As if they were saying:
"許しません (yurushimasen):  I will not forgive
Who doesn't forgive whom?
- The people who disappeared during this time? [by the way, where did people disappeared during this time?]
- The abilities for the ability users? Why? We saw in Season 3, Part 6, that the abilities have a feelings. (when Kyouka realizes that it wasn't the Ability who killed her parents.)
I think this soundtrack is not simple soundtrack.
Next Scene:
"You don't belong anywhere in this world"
this is what the director of the orphanage tells Atsushi at 22:40
"in this world" Then where does he belong? Belong an another world? btw, in Atsushi's dream we see a gate at 19:56. Why is the gate color like the moon? And right after that, the fog appears. Nevermind, I'll come back to this but I have so much on my mind.
Probably only I see too much of it because I love dead apple and bsd.
Next:
What if, the crystal on the forehead of the abilities allows for a real feelings of abilities? Let me explain:
Suppose the abilities are slaves, and they can’t object in any way, but the crystal allows them. It doesn’t seem like the abilities don’t know what they’re doing. They know. Every ability (who has the crystal on his forehead) I think knows what are doing. (Mostly at 28:00 when her ability looks at Yosano.)
Next:
"it's the gifted of this town that feel most sorry for. No matter which of the three of us prevails, they will all perish" at 33:34sec. - Fyo said.
That’s why I think even more that the abilities are angry.
[I really see too much in a sentence and I’m sure I’m  say a lot of stupid things right now, I know]
Next:
"I know of a way. Defeat the ability, and it'll return to its owner." Okay, how does Akutagawa know that? Did anyone say something to maffia? Who? Ango? If he was then he was really suspicious.
Anyway, why would it be bad for Ango if Shibushawa succeeded his plan?
Btw, I noticed that (when he talk with Chuuya) his glasses were not transparent when he stifled his feelings. And he only strangles him if he has something to keep secret.
Okay, the gate:
-So, we see first at 19:56sec when the fog appears in Atsushi dream.
-And we see again when Atsushi stand front of the gate at 30:36sec.
(Anyway, it's a full moon now)
-And we see at 51:51sec when the director of the orphanage stand front of the gate. (already not Atsushi)
-57:50 when Atsushi kneels in front of the door. And the director tell him "don't open that door"
"Though you have neither the courage nor the dignity."
dignity?
What if Atsushi had listened to him?
"Once you know, you can't go back to not knowing." Okay, so it turns out that Atsushi has some memory loss.
[When he asked Dazai in 55 minutes why he wanted to die, he finally did not remember the answer.]
And finally Atsu opens the gate.
Okay, then. Fyo ability didn't hurt Fyo in the fog. What if Fyo does exactly what his ability wants? What if Fyo doesn’t control his ability, but the other way around? What if he himself is a whole person controlled by an ability?
At 1: 05:22 we see Dazai. Around he we see Japanese texts. I’m learning Japanese, but unfortunately I can’t read kanji yet.
At 1:14:35 why did Mori's ability hurt him? He's ability Elise, but Elise was human when they was in the war (together with Yosano). I guess Mori's ability is not Elise, so I will don't write to about this.
At 1:18:35 "The Russian who told me of your existence told me, that the dragon is the true form of the chaos of special abilities. Then, as you are the one who embodies the tiger, you are the antithesis of all special abilities." -Shibushawa said.
you are the antithesis of all special abilities
At 1:22:27 Why crysthal is blue now?
---------------
So, that would be it. Thank you for getting this far and for reading through it. I really just wanted to write about the soundtrack, but then I started watching the whole movie again and it got a little longer than I thought. Do not use as a basis what I have described. I’m not a good analyst, I only used to read them. And I really only asked questions. But I had to write this out of myself now. And, I'm sorry, if you don't understand what I wrote exatly, I am not too good in English.
See ya guys!

Let's Talk about this.
Probably gonna make LTAT (Let's Talk about this) into a series lololol.
Content: Bungou Stray Dogs, Bungou Stray Dogs BEAST au, Bungou Stray Dogs Dead Apple movie
Warning: Manga spoiler, Beast Au spoiler, 55 minutes spoiler, stormbringer spoiler, another shit that Youne makes when her teacher talks about Arithmetic Progression, this is just a theory
Tumblr media
Singularity.
A terms that quite understandable but still, quite mysterious too in Bungou stray dogs universe.
The brightest point that we had about Singularity is on Stormbringer novel (LN vol. 8). That saying Every Ability has it's own limit, but Military always had a way to go beyond it. And the way to go beyond the limit is Singularity itself. According to Wells at 55 Minutes (LN vol. 4), Singularity is an incident that cancelling each other getting united and getting stronger.
For example, 2 ability user fighting each other. One of them has an ability where they hide everything, meanwhile the other one's ability is revealing everything. Usually, one of them will win. But at the rare occurence, they're uniting and resulting ability that's better than the usual ability.
It's also mentioned in Dead Apple movie that Singularity already happened in Yokohama itself (twice, not once).
In Beast AU, Dazai use Singularity to 'Forcing' made a way that connect another Dazai from another 'Book' (I think it's mean another universe). But there's an interesting detail that caught my attention. This:
Tumblr media
This is Dazai's Ability, No longer Human that first time appeared in the first episode.
Tumblr media
Ranpo's introduction panel from episode 1
Tumblr media
Atsushi when he's turning into a tiger for the first time. It is displayed that there's some... Kanji and Hiragana (the image is too blurry I'm sorry) that I'm not sure that this is just a random words. There's 2 Speculation: it is one of the content from Nakajima Atsushi-sensei's book. Or, it's something that explains everything about Atsushi's ability.
Well, for your information. When it comes to learning japanese, my level is N3. But it's pretty hard to read, even if I got the HD quality one, it will blocked by the effects (and it's pretty fast tho).
For me, this looks like a book. Yes, some of the Japanese literature books looks like this (it's writed from top to bottom, most of the modern literature books written from left to right).
I've mentioned it before, Dazai in beast AU using Singularity to connects another Dazai from Another 'books'.
But how?
To be continued to the next part.
Tumblr media
A/n: well, honestly I'm quite surprised when i made this theory. I feel like big-brained person (but when it comes to school, I'm a total idiot). And why am i cut this into the another part? I'm pretty tired yk, it's almost 10PM in my time. Also, another reminder that this is just a theory.

Animate Times Interview with Centimillimental
Tumblr media
Discussing his journey so far and his love for this series, saying that he “felt something like fate” upon coming across “Given”! Interviewing Centimillimental, who did the theme songs and sound production of the summer anime “Given”.
The artist Centimillimental composed the opening of the TV anime “Given”, which aired in Fuji TV’s Noitamina and gathered a great amount of attention. Garnering comments about the sound production of the show’s band, Given, he released the opening theme “Kizuato” as a single on September 11!!
This is the debuting work of the solo unit Centimillimental, in which Atsushi-san does the vocals, keyboard, guitar and programming. In this article, which is surprisingly his first-ever interview, we shall introduce plenty of his journey until reaching this point and his thoughts regarding “Given”!
His current style was earned through “wanting to express joy and sorrow with music” as much as possible.
——Thank you for your time today!
This is actually my first time being interviewed (laughs). I will be in your care.
——Your first interview?! Please let us ask all kinds of questions. Firstly, could you tell us about the origins of Centimillimental?
Although it has the name Centimillimental, this is a solo unit. Rather than a singer and songwriter, I am more of a solo artist with a band stance. But it was originally a band. The band name remained just the way it was... that is all.
——What sort of band was it?
A four-piece one, with myself in charge of the vocals and keyboard. The band had a style close to pop, with a lead guitar, bass and drums, but the members pulled out one after another... Ultimately, I was the only one left. For that reason, people from the live concert houses were quite uneasy. Like, “Does the vocalist have a nasty personality or something?” (laughs).
——(Laughs) That is so not true.
Each one quit for their own reasons. But I had an obsession with the band, so I was like, “I’ll do this even if it’s just out of stubbornness” (laughs). And so, the band name stayed.
Tumblr media
——Atsushi-san, what are the roots of your admiration for bands?
My root is Remioromen. I actually used to play classic music. I was so much of a classics boy that I would... turn off the TV whenever a music program was starting, but when (an insert song) “Konayuki” started playing in the drama “1 Liter no Namida”, which I watched back in fifth grade, it had an impact on me. Like, “So a singing voice can be this cool when it accompanies a melody”. From then on, I began looking up to bands.
——How did you handle classics from that point onward?
I continued playing for a long time, until I was around 20 years old. But then I was charmed by pop music and could no longer dedicate myself to classics (strainer laugh). I used to dream of becoming a pianist, but I felt that the mindsets of classics and pop were different, and then chose the way of pop.
——When you think about it now, what do you believe to have been the reason that a classics boy had his heart stolen by pop?
I had the feeling... that something more essential for my inspiration was set on fire, so to say. I think this something also exists for people who like classic, but in my case, I personally felt joy at the fact that “their singing voice is cool”, “their words pierce me”. So I was like, “This is what I actually prefer”. Also, I was drawn to the freedom of pop. The world of classics is devoted to music sheets, so in concourses, for example, it is important whether or not you can play true to the sheets, but I end up playing the way I want to on my own accord. Which is why the judges’ votes became worse year after year (bitter laugh). During this, there were also people who told me, “This is an insult”... But if I were in a world of originals where I could give birth to my own songs, wouldn’t my beliefs be justice? So I started to think that I was “the kind of person who wants to express himself freely”. To begin with, I have liked creating things since the distant past. I used to write stories of my own and making picture books with them in preschool, and from first grade on, I would be writing song compositions and poems. At any rate, I like creating things, so wouldn’t making them freely suit me better?
——So, if it is on the topic of “wanting to create things freely”, the way you are now is best, in a sense?
That is right (laughs). My degree of freedom has increased ever since I went solo. One of the reasons the band did not work was that my ideals and the image of my unshakable, inertial nature were very strong. I believe that so-called bands are supposed to get together in a studio and consolidate and gather up arrangements, but right as we formed ours, I would take the stance of writing down everyone’s parts and saying, “I want you to play this”. So I think that the current Centimillimental is what turned out from me doing everything I could, the place that I was supposed to reach.
youtube
——Nowadays, you are in charge of all parts, right? Did you play instruments other than piano from the start?
That is not the case. When our guitarist left the band, I did not want the quality of our music to be reduced, so I thought about supplementing it somehow, then learned how to play guitar. Also, I had to put my heart into it, but I started studying bass and drums when the others left, wondering if I could cover for them. The fact that the members pulled out had an influence on it.
——How was it coming in contact with instruments besides the piano?
The structures are completely different. Bands are formed so that each person can compensate for the other. When it comes to the beauty of such arrangements, I came to feel them more keenly the more I delved into them. And then I started obsessing with the arrangements.
——After these twists and turns, did Centimillimental become in 2015 what it is now?
No, there were actually twists and turns from this point on too... There was once a time when the band became just the bassist and me. Back then, the band was not doing too well, so we decided to do a different unit. That was the band called “Nee, Wasurenaide Ne” (“Hey, Don’t Forget”). In the end, I mostly had to do it by myself, but doing things separately from the main activities gave me a high degree of freedom. And then people started finding us interesting and we gradually earned their praise. For me, that was extremely frustrating (laughs
——So it became a “sub”-like band.
That is right. And then I thought about quitting, so I applied for an audience as a commemoration for quitting, to make one last memory... but then the work I had applied won a Grand Prix. I was like, “No way!?”. This happened in summer 2015. And that was when the main and sub switched (laughs). And so, only the band’s original name remained. The label respects us in the sense that we “can make the music that we always wanted to”.
——What is the origin of the band name “Centimillimental”?
“Remioromen” is a coined word, so I looked up to a coined word in katakana. I personally like katakana. Plus, I like “sentimental” things. That sentimental feeling when you are going home after a fun day thinking, “Today was a good day” and it suddenly makes you feel lonely, or that sentimental mood from when you are purely sad... I believe that sentimental emotions regarding anything are something that we should nestle close to. I had this thinking that I want to express joy and sorrow with music, so while using “sentimental” as the pillar, I added the “milli” with the meaning of “not being too caught up with it”.
Tumblr media
——Come to think of it, both “Given” and “Kizuato” are written in katakana.
I guess I have a connection with katakana (laughs). If the words are in kanji or in hiragana, doesn’t that change the appearance and interpretation of each? While katakana has a coldness to it, it doesn’t feel too sharp. I have the feeling that these kinds of words are interesting.
“Gender doesn’t matter when you’re in love with someone.” – He also has experience with composing music having a BL series as the impetus?!
——How did you feel when you received the proposal about “Given”?
It was the first tie-up of my life, so I turned into a mess of nervousness, uncertainty and expectations. But “Given” is a series about music and the theme is bands, which was something I looked up to. Moreover, rather than just the sparkle and shine of a band, it also focuses on sadness, the tremor from losing something... these delicate parts of it.
I think music has a close relationship with meetings and partings, so I felt happiness to be involved with a series that faces this directly. It was like something that was supposed to come at me had arrived, and at the same time, I felt something similar to destiny. That was my first impression.
Tumblr media
——The sensible portrayal is one of the charms of this series, right? I read on the topic that this series was the first-ever BL comic that Noitamina has adapted into anime, and there is an indescribable appeal in the words “boys’ love”...
It allows you to smoothly immerse yourself into their worldview, right?
I have bought a BL manga in the past. In my middle school days, buying a book after looking at just the title was trending. At the time, what I took in my hands was a short story collection titled “Saigo no Sangatsu”. I thought at first, “I might’ve jumped into a terrible world!” but turns out it was a really good work...
Gender doesn’t matter when you love someone; it’s all the same. It was a really good work, so I was quick to wrote a song for it (laughs).
——That is a good story. By the way, did you use to watch anime back then?
I was not the type to watch anime in-depth. But what I thought to be odd was that, whenever you finish watching a series, doesn’t the way that you listen to the opening themes, ending themes and insert songs change?
Through the filter that is the series, the tone of the music changes, and the story stands out instead as the music overlaps with it... While watching, I would find myself thinking that this way of snuggling up to the music was interesting.
——What were your impressions when you read the original work of “Given”?
Kizu Natsuki-sensei’s focused viewpoint on pain is quite sharp. Her poetic depictions, which sometimes get you caught in them, are impactful and sensible. I thought it was a series that cherished words a lot. Since it is a manga, I think the art is the main point, of course, but I felt a literary beauty in it that resides not just in the drawings. It also felt close to the world of songs that I take part in, so I truly had the feeling that it was fate.
Tumblr media
——So the image of the song came readily to you?
Right you are. That is where I arrived once I wrote down my own perspective of romantic love and the ways that people become involved with each other. The sense of suitability was incredible. That’s why I was able to write it so frankly, managed to say what I wanted to, and got close to the series. I feel that the compatibility was really good.
But of course, there were walls. I write even the arrangements by myself, so I had to make changes over and over, and I had never had any experiences with being the producer of a band before, so there were things I was not used to. Also, my main instrument is the piano, but there is no piano in the show. That’s why I had to delve into the guitar, so there I had a hard time sound-wise...
“I want it to be an important song for everyone from ‘Given’ too!”
——Can you tell us about your particularities regarding the sound of “Kizuato”?
For the anime size version, I purposely sealed away the piano and classic strings that I had been specializing in until now. For the whole song, in order to nestle closer to “Given”, I cherished the band’s scene, with a guitar, bass and drums.
——I felt a big meaning in the fact that it starts with a breath. Is it something that you gave importance to?
I like the sharpness of songs that start with the singing. That feeling of getting taken aback without thinking. Same goes for sighing - I feel that people’s emotions mount on their breathing. Through “the drawing of a breath”, you can sense a beauty and strength unique of vocal songs. For that reason, I cherished the breaths from the very start.
I also think that the breaths are very important in “Given”. For example, in the teaser trailer, the video ends with a breath, and in the PV, the scenes change with breaths too. That’s why I think it was good to be able to start the song like this.
youtube
——I felt that the lyrics portrayed the sensible feelings of all four, starting with Mafuyu, but how was it made?
They are human beings, so I think there is definitely a part of their emotions somewhere that they can share. The loneliness and agony of losing something, the conflicts of loving someone... anyone has that. I looked for keywords that would connect everyone from “Given”, including me. For me and for all the characters that appear in “Given”, it could not be a lie...
——The “four seasons” bit in the lyrics was also a good keyword.
I think that is one of the main points of the series, and that this part of it can connect even within me.
——The words “I can hear it and it’s still real, so I’ll carry your heart in your place” from the latter half are extremely painful, but at the same time, it conveys resolve and determination. Were you conscious of the machinations of their hearts or something like that within the song?
I think it is wonderful when emotions get into motion as the song goes on. Aren’t there moments in everyday life where wounds heal little by little and changes of heart where we try to get back on our feet even if they do not heal? I like story-songs that head towards hope in this fashion. I also want everyone in “Given” to be happy. I gave importance to how they should head towards hope while sharing those wounds.
——The song changes dramatically after the aforementioned verse.
I finished it with a classic orchestra sound. That is one of the strong points of my music, so I had the desire to approach “Given” through it. If I sealed away my music too much and made it into just a “Given” song, it would feel like I was standing on formality. I am a person who gets hurt and even so lives on crying and laughing, just like them. I pieced together that part of the song because I wanted to convey this message.
youtube
——So you let your uniqueness show in order to join hands with “Given”. Indeed, both with love and friendship, getting close to the other person is not all there is to it.
Right. That alone is not a connection, and you end up concluding that your own love is too deep... I believe there is a 50:50 beauty to it. Isn’t that what acknowledging one another and joining hands means?
“Kizuato” is my debut song and an important song for me. That’s why I also want it to be an important song for everyone from Given (the band). I thought about intersecting that. After thinking a lot, I managed to change the charm between the anime size and the full size.
At the beginning of the A-melody from the second chorus, I tried changing the rhythm, transforming it into an electro loop, and did all sorts of approaches. I hoped it would be wide-ranging as music.
——How did you feel when you watched the opening?
I was extremely moved. I had gathered with all the recording members to watch it, and everyone shared their joy too. It was a really good scene.
Having my own music playing in sync with an animation was my dream, so I was tremendously happy, and I felt like I had connected with the viewers who had the same feeling... I was truly overjoyed.
When I looked on Twitter, people had written up several opinions, making me go, “So there’s this many people enjoying my music”.
“It’s exactly because the desire to protect someone isn’t something simple that we feel uncertain.”
——Other than the OP, you also did the sound production of the band Given, so what impressions did you have from the production work?
I already liked production work to begin with. Until then, I had been doing producer-like things, such as arrangements for the musical compositions of artists around me, but this was my first time doing production as a job.
I mentioned Remioromen earlier, but I also looked up to Kobayashi Takeshi-san, who was Remioromen’s producer as well, so I had also wanted to work on production one day.
Tumblr media
——Given’s debut single, “Maru Tsuke/Fuyu no Hanashi”, was released on September 18 2019. “Maru Tsuke” is also included in Centimillimeter’s single as a self-cover, but what kind of route did you take to complete this song?
To tell the truth, I had a song called “Maru Tsuke” for quite a long time. I already had its base form since 2015, so the song was in a state similar to an accompaniment material.
“Maru Tsuke” came into light during the meetings, and I didn’t think this song would have made it into the topic of discussions, so I was surprised. I was anxious at first, but when I tried facing it once again, there were so many fitting aspects to it that it even made me say, “So it can get this close to the series”. I felt like it connected with “Given” on a deep level, despite not having written that song for it.
——Holding someone dear, becoming a coward because of it, shouldering all sorts of feelings, and continuing to live in spite of that... What you talk about in “Maru Tsuke” might be things that everyone thinks.
The moment you start loving someone, you feel fear at the same time and become fragile. It’s exactly because the desire to protect someone isn’t something simple that we feel uncertain, and there is not only light to it, but I think loving someone is something beautiful. I get the sense that this swirling feeling itself is beautiful. That is what I threw into the song, and it was also one of the themes of “Given”. The fact that I managed to connect them goes without saying, but it’s like being told that I wasn’t mistaken about the things I gave importance to, which made me happy. In order to connect even better, I reconstructed the sound making and structure one more time, aiming for higher heights as a composition for “Given”.
——What were you conscious of for the direction?
Yano Shougo-san (the voice of Mafuyu) is a workaholic, so he sings all sorts of songs, but I thought there was a difference between songs sung by band vocalists and songs sung by voice actors. So I figured that it would be good if I could share with him the methods of band vocalists and band sounds in my own way, thus I have him that kind of direction.
I was also very conscious of “conveying words”. I believe that the author, Kizu Natsuki-sensei (who is also a producer of Given), also cherished words a lot. I think this also reflects on the songs.
Tumblr media
——Was there anything you felt when you actually conducted the production?
First of all, I was extremely happy that a song I made was sung. It was expressed in a way that I myself couldn’t do, and even if the emotions are the same, the way people view it changes depending on who’s singing. Seeing it hand-in-hand with the series, spreading up just like that and growing bigger made me happy.
——The other song, “Fuyu no Hanashi”, played during the show in episode nine.
From the very beginning, there was already a song titled “Fuyu no Hanashi” in the drama CD, but this song began from me creating a new “Fuyu no Hanashi”. “Fuyu no Hanashi” already existed for the fans, so I saw plenty of everyone’s love for it on Twitter and such, and also how it comes close to their daily lives. I dreaded painting over it, but... I believed it was fate that I had received this proposal, so I thought, “I’m going to do all I can”. While there was pressure, there was also joy, so it was a strange feeling.
To tell the truth, when I received the proposal for “Given”, the offer for “Fuyu no Hanashi” came first-thing. That’s why I actually started the production from there. Afterward, I received proposals for the session track that plays in the middle of the show and for the theme songs... That is how it went.
——Was that so?! The seed, the piece that would give you most pressure came first, so to say.
That’s right. But for me, this was a comfortable wall. I worked on it while thinking that, if I could make many people happy with it, then it would be a big step for me.
——What kind of feelings did you put into it?
I figured it would probably be used for the live concert scene in the middle of the show, so I read the scene and imagined the concert over and over. In the drama CD, it could only be portrayed with sounds and voices, so I think they probably gave importance to how they would insert the monologues into the lyrics. In the anime’s case, there would be an animation accompanying the song, so I reflected on what the “Fuyu no Hanashi” that I could compose was. Like a shout for a person who has been lost... It’s a requiem, but also a follow-up of one’s true intentions... I wanted to treasure those messed-up feelings. Also, I thought it was a song that had been preciously loved until then, so I had a strong sense of duty not to ruin this.
Being involved with “Given” changed his life!!
——Could you also tell us about the track “Sessions” (The Seasons) that plays during the show?
I received the proposal for this one after “Fuyu no Hanashi”. “There’s a scene in the show that goes like this, so if you’d like, couldn’t you make a track for it,” they asked.
I had never made an actual instrumental band track. Counting the fact that three pieces had already been decided for the story, it was quite a pressure on me.
When I actually watched the scene where they are performing it in the anime, my spirits went right up. Like, “So this is how the band will go”. The sensation that oozed from my hands and spread into me felt truly good.
Tumblr media
——Lastly, Atsushi-san, could you tell us... about the things you have realized and earned through the music production of “Given”?
It’s a series that has several places where everyone can join hands. I think that is exactly why so many fans love this work.
Being involved with “Given” has changed my notions of life, and I feel that it was a huge feat, if only for my musical life. I am filled to the brim with happy feelings for being part of it.
——Thank you very much for telling us so many things today.

Kuroko no Basket Headcanon : GoM (+others) Horoscopes and Planetary Positions (Sun and Moon Sign)
Going full Oha-Asa over here, I really wanted to write something on it. As meticulous as Fujimaki-sensei is, he already noted what sun sign each and every character is born under. The internet is filled with Zodiac stereotypes and sets every signs into boxes: this character should be like this and all. But the surprising thing about Kuroko no Basket characters is none of them fall under their zodiac stereotypes. So I looked around and discovered that in Eastern Astrology, especially Vedic astrology each sign of the Zodiac is divided into 2 and a half star division, which makes two people of the same sign completely different persons. That makes 12 Zodiac Signs ruled by 27 different constellations! I was inspired by an Youtuber called “Claire Nakti” who sheds some brilliant light upon it. So here is my take on it.
The calculations I did is based on the Cafe Astrology
I will also try to add different characters of the same zodiac signs to prove my point. So This may get a little longer. I understand there could be jargons and all, so I will be adding English names also so that you can read about them.
Disclaimer: I ain’t no astrologer, I just made an analogy to an anime where Horoscope is much discussed topic (by a certain Green haired character) so I thought why don’t I pull an Oha-Asa in my way?
Kuroko Tetsuya (31st January, Aquarius sun-Scorpio Moon, North Node and Jupiter Influenced)
Tumblr media
Kuroko has always been unique as a character in sports anime. His sun sign falls in Aquarius in Shatabhisa constellation or The Constellation of 100 healers (eng: γ Aquarii), and his moon falls in Scorpio, in Vishaka Constellation or The constellation of Tree branches (eng: α, β, γ and ι Librae ). His sun position makes him not hesitate to sacrifice his self-interests to stand by his principles. Indeed Kuroko is a moral person and calls out the wrong, even though his enemies are larger and scarier than he is. This moral nature is further heightened by Jupiter ruled moon sign: Vishaka people are clear speakers, unique thinkers and justice lovers. Kuroko may be soft spoken but he clearly depicts all of those qualities.
Looks wise Nodal males have light, magnetic wide eyes. North node of the moon is the shadow of the moon, and Kuroko is the “phantom”, an illusion which is also under the domain of the North Node of the moon: as sun plays a forefront in astrology, his Sun ruled Aquarius north node perhaps makes him the way he is.  His name is “Tetsuya”, which was written in Katakana; if it were written in Kanji it means “Philosophical”. North node controls darkness and illusions, out-of-the-box ideas, Jupiter controls morality and higher truth: His name is “Kuroko” (child of the dark) “Tetsuya” (Philosophical)
Kise Ryota (June 18th, Gemini sun-Scorpio Moon, Jupiter and Mercury influenced)
Tumblr media
That is a really odd combination for Kise, because Jupiter characteristics are not at all frivolous and smiling all over the place like Kise. His Gemini sun falls in Punarvasu Constellation of the Constellation of “Return of the Good” ( eng: Castor and Pollux ), and His moon sign is in Scorpio in Jyestha Constellation, or the constellation “of the elder” (α, σ, and τ Scorpionis). Both of his constellations sit at the cusp of air (Gemini and Libra) and water signs (Cancer and Scorpio). This brings two things in line: Air sign gives him his mutability or ability to change, while water sign brings him closer to his emotions. He is not a “perfect copy” without any reason (Midorima agrees)
Looks wise, His mercury ruled moon sign is more dominant than his Jupiter rule Gemini constellation. Mercury men are very youthful looking, have narrow but bright eyes and are very much babied by the people around him: Mercury being the infant planet of the zodiac brings this quality. His moon sign also dictates his career as a model because Jyestha males are prone to go to the entertainment industry. Both Jupiter and Mercury are responsible for learning, knowledge. Kise is known to catch up with basketball in the shortest amount of time, and perhaps this is the reason. These people are also bad at hiding their emotions and are very honest in nature. Both him and Kuroko share Jupiter moon signs, perhaps that is why Kise is very attached to Kuroko.
MIdorima Shintarou (7th July, Cancer sun-Leo Moon, Saturn and South Node Influenced)
Tumblr media
We all knew that Midorin was a Cancer, but Leo moon, we did not see it coming. Midorima is a Cancer sun and falls under the Pusya Constellation or the Constellation of Nourisher (eng: γ, δ and θ Cancri ). People born under the constellation are well respected, stable-minded and moral (we all agree on that). The Leo moon falls under the Magha (the blessed) constellation (eng: Regulus). These people  are very hard-working, and whatever progress they makes is owing to this attitude of sincerity. Well, no one can disagree on that part also.
Pusya males are saturn ruled and they come with extremely good looks. Saturn beauties have long-ish faces, narrow eyes and a serious look on their face which looks quite attractive especially on males. South Node  moon makes a man magnetically handsome and to some extend emotionally distant--he may have hard time figuring and expressing his or other’s emotions. South Nodes also gives people a weird way to speak: be it voice, dialect or accent, and in Midorima’s case it is suffixing everything with “Nanodayo”. Saturn born people are very spiritual as well, they believe in a higher power and often follow it unquestioningly: with Midorima’s case, it’s his Horoscopes. With the saturn influenced sun, he will be disciplined, orderly and somewhat submissive in his nature: figures when he gets scolded or bullied by his seniors (and Takao) he takes it quietly. Guess Midorima knew Oha-Asa wasn’t hoax when he self diagnosed himself.
Aomine Daiki (August 31st, Virgo sun- Leo Moon, Sun and South Node influenced)
Tumblr media
I had a hunch that Daiki is Sun influenced the moment I started doing this thing. He is a Virgo sun that falls into a Sun ruled constellation called Uttar Phalguni (The Younger Red One) (eng: Denebola), which is called the best Constellation for leadership and masculinity; Sun attends Youth in this constellation and therefore these people are leaders, egotistic and often harsh speakers. He is a Leo Moon which falls on the Magha or The Constellation of the Blessed (Eng: Regulus). His sun sign sits between the cusp of Leo and Virgo and this brings the fieriness in him. Stereotypical Virgos are portrayed as Nerdy and Neat people, but Virgo behaves like Leo when sun is sitting in Denebola Constellation and it amplifies Virgo’s ambitious nature and Leo’s Ego.
Sun influenced men are very masculine in looking and particularly the constellation under which Daiki is born makes the men hypersexual and lovers of all things erotic. Sun men are also the people who attract a lot of Nodal natives, moon born natives in their lives. Kuroko, who is North Node influenced, was once Aomine’s “shadow”-- a Sun influenced person who was Kuroko’s light. However, here comes his south node moon in play. South Node men are quiet emotionally distant, even from his own friends and loved once: they frequently hurt people with their words and have trouble expressing their feelings. Daiki also has the South Node speech type: he tends to drag the words “in--dayo” whenever he speaks, especially if he is annoyed. They speak often forcefully which may come off as rude, which also contributes to their loneliness. They are the “lone wolves” and people cannot stand them often: Sounds like Aomine? because he is like that.
Murasakibara Atsushi (October 9th Libra sun-Capricorn moon, North Node and Sun influenced)
Tumblr media
Anyone with Libra sun hear me out: Sun is said to be at his Weakest in Libra, and that means out Purple Giant has an unfortunate sun position. His Sun Sign falls in Swati Constellation or the Constellation of “Goodness” (Eng: Arcturus), and his moon falls in Uttar Ashada or the Constellation of the Undefeated (Eng: Zeta Sagitarrii) which is a Sun ruled constellation that sits at the Cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn. Thus Murasakibara is not a stereotypical Libra, he has some grounding qualities in him. Libras are most compatible with Gemini, Aries and Aquarius but Murasakibara’s best friend is Himuro Tatsuya who is a Scorpio. This must be because the Capricorn enters in his chart as his House of Moon, which has medium compatibility with Scorpio.
Any Nodal person mentioned in this post, especially if they are North Node are exceptionally tall in heights and it is said that Nodes, like trees in the deep equatorial forest, grow tall to get the Sun, which makes them so execptionally tall. Murasakibara is very large compared to a Japanese. Although his sun is weakened in the sign of Libra, which snatches all the honour, glory and leadership positions, he strengthens it back in his Capricorn moon which is a Sun ruled Constellation. Although the Constellation is mainly on Sagittarius’ side, but when it enters Capricorn’s side it loses it’s philosophical edge of the Sagittarius house and gets more practical because Capricorn is an earth sign. This moon position gives him those Sun ruled narrow and sharp eyes, deep voice, imposing alpha qualities. People who have sun in Swati tend to be my-pace kind of people: they have their own ways to do things, they hate being criticized and they have fierce angers.
Akashi Seijuro (December 20th, Sagittarius Sun- Aries Moon, Sun and Venus Influenced)
Tumblr media
Boy! Here comes one big ball of Ego! I always wondered (when I first saw Akashi) wow, he acts like a Greek God who just got pissed off by a mortal, and turns out he was just born on certain influence. He is a Sagittarius Sun that falls on the Uttar Ashada Constellation or the Constellation of the Undefeated (eng: Zeta Sagittarii), and His Aries Moon falls on Varani constellation or The Constellation of the Bearer (Eng: 35 Arietis). Uttar Ashada is the last sun ruled constellation of the Zodiacs and Varani is the First Venus ruled constellation. As a fire sign he should be getting along with other fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, (even airs signs like Gemini and Libra) but he is closest with Midorima, who is a Cancer Sign, and Kuroko who is an Aquarius. All of them have one thing in common: Jupiter. Sagittarius is Jupiter’s domain, Cancer is Jupiter’s favorite house to be, and Kuroko has Scorpio moon in Vishakha Constellation, which is ruled by Jupiter.
Sun ruled males are hands down the alpha males around as i have written before, but dear Akashi’s constellation has an added twist. As Sagittarius is Jupiter Ruled (the eldest of the Zodiac) where Akashi’s sun sign sits, it gives him a sense of older-than-his age dignity. Thus people around him, older or younger, stronger or weaker obey him without contest. People with these placements may be blessed with the Supreme Leadership image, but it also gives them an overly authoritative and egotistic father figures (with which Akashi has had torments). His moon sign which is Venus influenced makes him very unconventionally attractive and in touch with his feminine sides, females or feminine gay men are likely to be attracted to him for this. But all of this politeness are outside features: inside, he is harsh and broken. Venus men are very particular about what women they desire in life, and Sun men are rapid womanizers. However Akashi’s Constellation has no opposite gender consort available in the 27 constellations (26 others are assigned with 13 pairs of male and female animals). So he will have high standards in women, not likely to have steady partners because of this--he may (god forbid) also die a virgin.
(Fun Fact: the symbol of Varani Constellation is a Vagina)
Kagami Taiga (August 2nd, Leo sun- Leo Moon, Double South Node Influenced)
Tumblr media
Kagami may have Leo sun and Leo moon and we may think--oh, he is full of sun power, but it is not hat simple. He is doubly influenced with South Nodes. South Nodes are responsible for morbidity, detachment, emotional alienation, aloofness etc, but none of them is really seen in Kagami. He shares Leo moon sign with Takao and Midorima, Aomine and on the same constellation: Magha, the constellation of the Blessed (eng: Regulus). At the beginning he seems to be very aggressive and his speeches rub people in the wrong way which is a typical South Node influence that come with his Sun and Moon sign. But later we see that he has a huge gap between appearance and reality.
Magha people usually come from wealth, but due to Kagami’s sun sign falls in a nodal constellation he faces detachment from his father figure. Nodal people usually have wide and doe like eyes, but as Kagami’s Sun and Moon sign sits on a Sun ruled House of Leo, his South nodes mimic the looks of a typical Sun dominant man: narrow eyes, alpha male qualities, deep voice and great leadership skills. Their speech tends to be loud, forceful and may seem harsh and rude, but it’s far from it. It is to be noted. Kagami’s voice also have the typical South node eccentricity, he ends his speeches with “desu” in polite conversations, even when it is not necessary. South Node is the headless tail of dragon and when sun comes to it, it takes the sun as it’s missing head and magnifies the qualities of the Sun. Kagami is so beautifully written that he is not a typical rugged charmed beauty: there is more to him in the bottom than we can see. South nodes enables a person to reach the higher truth, if they are placed in a good sign--remember how Kagami opened the Direct drive Zone? it was really like discovering the unconscious mind.
Takao Kazunari (November 21st, Scorpio Sun-Leo Moon: Mercury and South Node influenced)
Tumblr media
Charming, playful, good looking, Takao Kazunari is Scorpio Sun and a Leo Moon. Surprised? I was too--our Takao influenced by Leo? but that’s what he is completely opposite inside and out. He Mercury influenced Jyestha Constellation Sun or the Constellation of the Eldest (Eng: Alpha Scorpionis) and South Node influenced Magha Constellation or The Blessed Constellation moon (Eng: Regulus). The Mercury influenced Sun sign makes him swift and outspoken in nature; these people can be so quick thinkers that it makes them almost unpredictable.
South Node influenced men have light eyes, great looks and magnetic personality, while the Mercury influence gives them youthfulness, lightheartedness and great intelligence. they may have forceful speech or a weird accent: Takao adds a “-ssho” at the end of his sentence, despite he laughs at Midorima’s “Nanodayo suffix”. They don’t take life or themselves too seriously but can hold grudge for a long time. South Node men are prone to be ‘draining’ emotionally, but that aspect of Takao is not revealed. He and Midorima shares the same moon sign, The Leo Magha Moon, which makes them so different and so uncanny to be friends together. HIs Moon constellation, Magha makes him sort of selfless and detached at the same time. I always wondered why Takao wheels Midorima around and doesn’t get mad? because he is generous in a very selfless way.
Hyuuga Junpei (May 16th, Taurus Sun- Taurus Moon: Mars and Sun influenced)
Tumblr media
Hyuuga is Taurus sun and Taurus moon respectively. Hyuuga’s sun fall in Mrigshira Constellation or Deer Head Constellation (Eng: Lambda Orionis), which is the third Taurus constellation and it sits between Taurus and Gemini. His moon falls in Krittika constellation or Axe Constellation (Eng: Eta Tauri or Pleiades) which sits between Aries and Taurus. Sun influenced males depict a lot of alpha male qualities that attract both males and females (remember Reo Mibuchi) But Mars males usually are short tempered and express their anger in a funny way. Hyuuga is acknowledged by all as a captain but he struggles with his temper and his position, several times, perhaps due to these position. Looks wise Sun influenced males are very attractive in their own way, they usually have large forehead, sharp and narrow eyes and husky voice.
Sterotypically Taurus people cannot stand any other signs than specific earth and water signs, but this combination brings a taurian very well in terms with fire and air signs, especially with Leos, Geminis and Aquariuses. Aquarius people become very special in these types of taurians because they keep coming into Taurus’ throughout their lives: even though they are completely opposites. Hyuuga’s romantic interest is Riko, an aquarius. Taurus and Gemini are said to be in bad terms, but due to this combination of constellations, Hyuuga is in good terms with Kiyoshi. His Moon sign that falls in Krittika Constellation is symbolised by Axe (and any kind of blades in general) so, these natives are usually good with jobs that requires cutting: Hyuuga cuts hair nicely, don’t you think? Cutting also means cutting remarks--his Tsukkomis bite
Kiyoshi Teppei (June 10th, Gemini sun-Aries Moon: North and South Node influenced)
Tumblr media
No wonder Kiyoshi is the way he is. I always thought he is not a typical Gemini, there is a hidden aspect to him. South and North nodes of the moon are nodal planets and they love being around Sun influenced people (Hyuuga). Kiyoshi is an Aries Moon that falls on Aswini or Horse Head Constellation (eng: Beta Arietis), and he is a Gemini Sun that falls on the Ardra or Wet Wind Constellation (Eng: Betelgeuse) If You want a stable, cool-headed, life of the party, salt of the earth kind of person, go for Kiyoshi or the combination of his Sun and Moon placement.
The males born with the Moon in Ashwini Nakshatra will almost always have a handsome face, and bright and big eyes (South Node, trying to absorb light through big doe eyes). His forehead will be broad and his nose will tend to be on the bigger side. He will be grateful to those who love him and will go to any extents to do anything for them. He is the best friend you can have when you need one desperately. Ardra people have the special power to persevere, communicate and be gentle and soft spoken at the same time. The natives are soft, stable, strong, sacrifice a lot to earn, and may be prone to sickness--the last can connote with Kiyoshi’s knee injury. North Node people tend to be ambitious in nature and they will to any lengths to fulfill it, Nodal people tend to have wide and often doe like eyes, dry but sophisticated sense of humour and they love to be around Sun influenced people. That is why, despite being completely opposites, Kiyoshi and Hyuuga are in good terms.
Riko Aida (February 5th, Aquarius sun and Leo Moon: Venus and North Node influenced)
Tumblr media
Riko is Aquarius sun and Leo moon. NO wonder she exercises great leadership skills. Her Aquarius sun falls in Satavisha constellation or the constellation of 100 physicians and her Leo Moon falls in Purva Phalguni constellation or the Elder Red constellation. The North Node ruled sun constellation gives her harsh, strict, healing and truthful nature while the Venus ruled Moon constellation gives her charming outlook: she is soft on the outside, hard on the inside kind of girl. She used to have relationship with Kiyoshi at the beginning, and I wondered why, and then I discovered: Kiyoshi’s moon’ s constellation Ashwini is symbolised with a Male Horse and Riko’s Sun’s constellation Shatabhisha is symbolised with a Female Horse. The stars truly came together with these two.
The Purvaphalguni women are instructive and very good teachers and mentors: Riko is a coach and is very good at her job. Because her moon sign in ruled by Venus, she attracts a Taurian Hyuuga, whose Zodiac Sign Taurus is general is ruled by Venus. Nodal women have wide set and usually lighter eyes (according to the race) and Venus gives them an overall charming beauty (because Venus is the Goddess of Beauty). But along with it comes vanity as well: venus is extremely proud of her looks and will not stand any other’s presence who is more good looking than her. Perhaps that’s why she is quite jealous of Momoi.

Kosuke Furuhata
Tumblr media
Name: Kosuke Furuhata
Kanji: 古旗孝亮
Romaji: Furuhata Kosuke
Age: 19
MC Name: Lumière
Height: 180cm
Birthday: Aug 5
Occupation: University Student (oil painting)
Quote: “I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart.” Vincent Van Gogh
Personality: Meticulous is probably one of the only ways to describe Kosuke. He has a daily schedule that he sets for himself days in advance, with a backup plan and a good amount of flexibility just in case. While a very responsible person, he enjoys having fun and being childish on occasion, usually after being dragged out by his teammates. He is indeed a very kind and compassionate person, to the point of it being one of the largest disturbances to his schedule, but he is also to have a bone chilling glare when angry. Even when tired, he is relatively patient, though he’s known to be pretty snarky when that happens.
History: Kosuke grew up with both parents under relatively normal conditions, the only thing being that he felt as if his parents were more like drill instructors than parents. His entire school life was dedicated to seem extremely impressive so that he could have as many options open to him as possible. Kosuke has hardly any intimacy with his parents and hasn’t really talked to them in fear of disappointing them. He even started to live in his own apartment at age 16 and eventually made his way to the Tokyo University of Arts. Kosuke doesn’t resent his parents for the pressure they put on him, perhaps he fears them a little, but he’s learned to manage on his own and worked hard to show that he could indeed have a future in art, despite his parents still being disappointed. He went to the same school as Ichiro and was introduced to everyone else in the Dirty Dawg through him as they were good friends. Because he is on good terms with everyone in the Dirty Dawg, he feels torn between who to support and honestly was the most hesitant to start a division of his own causing a small divide between him and the twins. In addition, despite being a powerful rapper, he has asthma, and though considerably mild, it occasionally causes issues.
Mic: A thin, simple mic that has a pale gradient of a sunrise and an end with a blooming flower design on the spoken end
Speakers: Shaped like ornate canvas frames with obscure paintings and stained glass designs
Rap Ability: Shackle - This overwhelms the opponent in negative emotions, putting an almost physical weight on the targets body and chest, weakening their following attacks
Hobbies: Making art, violin
Handedness: Ambidextrous
Favorite food: Choco pie
Least Favorite food: Raisins
Etymology:
Kosuke means “filial piety”(孝)(ko) and “bright”(亮)(suke)
Furuhata mean “old”(古)(furu) and “flag”(旗)(hata)

Analysis - Chapter 79
-
To begin with, let’s talk about the coloured illustration before the chapter actually starts (this one👇🏻)
Tumblr media
Take a look of the birdcage in the middle and the upper left hand side of the illustration, which they are both absent with birds. I bet you all familiar with the ‘birdcage’ quote delivered by Gogol, where he says he wishes to be as free as the birds. Shortly after Asagiri demonstrates Gogol’s revival with his realisation of being free - killing his best friend - this illustration appears. Does it symbolise that Gogol has already found the ultimate way to achieve his life goal? Does it mean that his action is justified? I am happy about Gogol finding a resolution to achieve his aspirations, but killing of your loved ones (general love I mean) is surely heart-breaking. Would Asagiri justify his action? How will his action be resulted as the story develop? It is left to your thoughts.
-
The chapter begins with Atsushi figuring where The Page is. As predicted from fan theories, Sigma transferred his knowledge about The Page to Atsushi at the moment when Atsushi holds him while Sigma’s fall. I think the action of Sigma gives out two messages. First, it shows the strong ability of empathy that Atsushi possessed. The nature of pure kindness, plus his tough past, has shaped the personality of Atsushi. His vicissitudes of his life allowed him to be sympathetic about other’s past and experience, as portrayed before through his attitude towards Kyouka, Lucy, or even Margaret. Even though Sigma meant to be his enemy, Atsushi manages to treat him heart to heart, and listen to his thoughts sincerely despite the emergency and priorities of his mission. Kindness allow one to influence others, and this is the strength of Atsushi. It may sound cliche, but altogether with his special ability, bravery, it shapes Nakajima Atsushi.
Tumblr media
Secondly, Sigma’s action obviously further consolidate his personality. He is a man who claimed himself with no talent. Sigma is also a man with no shelter except the Casino. I therefore perceive him a rather down-to-earth person comparing with his colleagues. He does not have a lofty ambition, or an epic master plan for his ideal world. He knows what it feels as a mortal (even technically his is not an organic human :p). As a man who works hard, and communicates with lots of people, he surely has a deeper/alternative understanding towards humanity. That’s why he can be moved by Atsushi’s lines. Two men who both experienced toughness and worked very hard, may possibly thus manage to understand each other.
The flashback of Ango is quite interesting. However there is not much detail I can refer to, so I will just talk for a little bit. Ango mentions that the countless amount of information he receives from his ability had resulted in his brain malfunction before. It is possible that Ango, as a government agent, be asked to process different kinds of materials, or even human bodies. The memories that Ango has accumulated should have created a huge burden to him. I am so surprised that he is able to maintain his self-consciousness despite having such large amount of different memories. I mean, I can’t fit in a textbook before exams! Even though you managed to forget about the memories you have gained, there must be some unbelievable or shocking memories that you can never abandon. The mental pressure that Ango bears must be beyond our imagination. Respect!
Tumblr media
-
Okay let’s talk about what you guys thrilled for after the chapter once released - Kamui. I read different theories about who possibly Kamui will be, and it’s all really insightful! I, who have a small brain, cannot think of any hint who Kamui will be… but I do wanna talk about his name: Kamui. Kamui (神威), which means to threaten/menace the God. I personally find it a rather dodgy/old fashioned name in terms of Kanji if you understand the context( ・᷄ὢ・᷅ ) But our beloved author will never do meaningless things and as big brain right? So let’s continue.
Such frank recognition of God reminds me of the constant reference to existence of God in previous chapters and arcs. Particularly referring back to the previous chapter where Dazai and Fyodor chatting about the will of the God, it reminds of Liberalism, the political/philosophical ideology established in 17th century. It is a theory which believe human should be embodied with freedom and rights, and overturns the previous definition of human - we are born with original sin, which underpinned that humans should obey God. Fyodor argues that God arranged everything in order perfectly; while Dazai thinks humanity struggles, and will be managed to figure they own way out.
For me, it is like a debate between ‘divine’ and ‘human nature’. Liberalists believe that humans are able to learn from experiences, and act rationally, and this fits with Dazai’s general perception towards humanity. So I think Kamui, along with the Decay of Angels, may see themselves as the executioner on behalf of God, and to bring ‘good deeds’, and to restore the order of the world. While Dazai’s belief of human nature, has to counter the war, and lead by Atsushi, in order to demonstrate the central message that needs to be conveyed by Asagiri Kafka. I think it is no surprise that Liberalism can be seen as a reference for this story because ever since Gogol has raised the ‘birdcage’ lines, the issue of liberation, freedom, has to be discussed one day. Asagiri once mentioned in the Setting Catalogue of Dead Apple that the key theme of Bungo Stray Dogs is about ‘the meaning to live’. By coining the definition of humanity, it is a decent way to then further establish your analysis and argument of the best way of living as a human. Such well-organised plot is indeed the reason why I love Bungo Stray Dogs so much.

2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 for Sakae?
Ahh thank you for asking!! My baby girl Sakae ❤️
For those who don’t know, she’s mine and Dazai’s daughter~
2. any special meaning behind their name?
Her name means “prosperity” in Japanese. It’s written with the kanji used in the word for “honour” because she’s a part of mine and @/karmakitty’s OT4 AU, so I wanted to incorporate her name, Honour, into our first daughter’s name ^^
5. describe their aesthetic! feel free to use words, pictures, moodboards, music… anything!
Soft girl, lots of warm purples, tans, and whites. Cups of hot tea, flower crowns, leggings, and sweaters with skirts. Family and close friendships mean so much to her.
Tumblr media
6. post a meme/vine/tiktok that reminds u of ur kiddo!
Oh man, there’s so many. Honour and I made a collection of 3 super long vine/tiktok compilations of our OT4 family for that very reason lol.
I think a few of my favorites would be these ones:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKUgiphmlYA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94LHw8fa_GE
For both Dazai & Sakae:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NouA-MYcDfo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRR6w0KXN-M
For Sakae & her brother, Oda:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT5zQ8QwXh8
7. which parent do they take after more? what traits do they get from your f/o and what traits do they get from you or your s/i?
She definitely takes more after me in personality. She’s sweet and shy and very nurturing. And she’s also a bit of a crybaby and gets emotional very easily. But she’s also very intelligent and perceptive like Osamu is. She also gets more of her appearance from Osamu as well.
8. what is their dream job?
She doesn’t have a completely set plan yet, but she enjoys helping Dr. Yosano out in the agency infirmary and learning from her. She also spends time with Atsushi and Kyouka, trying to pick up some tips from them as well. She isn’t much of a fighter, and she doesn’t have an ability, but she really wants to learn all she can so she can help people.
She will probably grow up to be a nurse or even a doctor herself. Or, it’s also possible that she would like to get into the psych field and decide to be a therapist. She enjoys listening to people’s problems and attempting to help them work through them. She’s been doing so for her older brother ever since they were children.

Rules: list your top 5 favorite anime characters and then tag 10 people
Tagged by @pinkgirl94
1.  Minashiro Soushi from Soukyuu no Fafner
Tumblr media
Soushi Minashiro (皆城 総士 Minashiro Sōshi) is the deuterogonist of the Fafner: Dead Aggressor television series. He is the first battle commander of the mechas using the Siegfried System, but then gains ablity to pilot the Fafner Mk Nicht. (source)
I love Soushi for so many reasons there is no way I could name them all! He had to become an adult fast and always ends up shouldering everything himself. His job requires him to be incredibly calm and rational, which made him grow to be a very logical, precise, and isolated. He has a hard time fitting in because of it, but he has the biggest heart of anyone in the series even though he has a hard time showing it. He makes the greatest sacrifices for his friends and home while also being the biggest support to everyone else. The kanji in his name means “Everyone’s Castle, Complete Samurai” for a reason. Also, he is definitely incredibly awkward! But I find that awkwardness to be unbearably cute! And his friendship with Kazuki (the show’s protagonist) is definitely a highlight for me in the series!
2. Nakajima Atsushi from Bungou Stray Dogs
Tumblr media
Atsushi Nakajima (中島 敦, Nakajima Atsushi) is the main protagonist of Bungo Stray Dogs and a member of the Armed Detective Agency (ADA). ... Atsushi has severely low self-esteem due to his upbringing. He has a major complex about his worth as a person, as such he reacts negatively to people who judge others as unworthy. When people begin hunting him due to the seven billion yen bounty on his head, he becomes worried and continues to think that he is putting the Agency at risk ... Although still struggling with his self-esteem, Atsushi gradually improves his confidence and sense of self after joining the ADA...  (source)
I love Atsushi so much! He has struggled and had to overcome a lot in his life, but he is always a source of good. Even though he struggled with self confidence and doesn’t believe his life is worth anything unless he is saving other people, he is an invaluable part of the ADA has proven his value a hundred times over. Others around him realize how strong and important he is even though he himself doesn’t recognize it. I was immediately drawn to him because of his will to go on despite everything he has suffered and how he influences his mentor, Dazai Osamu, to trust him and want to continue living as well.
3. Kaito (or Kite) from Hunter X Hunter
Tumblr media
Kite (カイト, Kaito) was a Hunter and Ging Freecss' student. ... Kite is stern and stoic, occasionally blunt to the point of appearing rude. Although some may regard him as cold-hearted, he is actually caring, fond of animals as he is of people. However, he never hesitates, not even when he has to take a life if the situation demands it, as little as he likes it... (source)
As iconic as Hunter X Hunter is, the character I am still in love with from the series is one that has the least amount of screen time but is such an important character that you remember him regardless. He is a role model for the series protagonist, Gon, and the 10th strongest character according to the author’s chart of strongest characters (source). I love that he is one of the strongest and most skilled Hunters in the series but he is also very kind and willing to teach and guide aspiring Hunters. He is very intelligent and strong, but I love how that is contrasted with how random his Nen ability is! Every time he uses his ability he comments on how annoying and inconvenient it is and yet he is the one who made it that way! I think he is a well balanced character, and even though we don’t get to see him much in the series he is my absolute favorite HxH character!
4.  Dazai Osamu from Bungou Stray Dogs
Tumblr media
Osamu Dazai (太宰治, Dazai Osamu?) is a member of the Armed Detective Company ... Dazai is a mysterious person, his true intentions are never revealed unless he himself reveals them. (source)
I have a lot I can say about Dazai. He is based on my all time favorite author and you can tell the creators of Bungou Stray Dogs were very familiar with his literary works and life. Dazai is a suicidal maniac, has bad luck with women, a genius, a man of mystery, and when we do get to see behind the masks he is always wearing what you see is never what you expected. He may seem absent minded, flippant, and lazy but when he gets serious you’d better hope you’re not on his bad side.
5. Yakumo Yurakutei (or Kikuhiko) from Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Tumblr media
The 8th Yakumo is the master of Yotaro Yurakutei, by the ex-con's request. His ward is Konatsu. He is known as the "Showa Final Master [of Rakugo]". He has forgotten his real name (the one given to him at birth). His names throughout the series include Bon, Kikuhiko, Kiku, and Yakumo. (source)
Now this is an amazing anime! And Kiku-san is the whole reason I watched the show! Kiku-san is the protagonist and we get to follow him from the time he was a child as he becomes an apprentice to a rakugo master and eventually becomes a master himself. Rakugo is a traditional style of Japanese humorous storytelling. It takes a great deal of memorization, skill, and dedication for Kiku-san to find his place in the world of rakugo, especially with his personality. Kiku-san is a very serious, hard working individual who initially hates rakugo but has no other options but to become an apprentice. He practices and learns stories only so he can live. Over time, however, because of his fellow apprentice Kiku-san learns to love rakugo. If only he could spend his days quietly honing his craft, but life is never so simple. Tragedies and dramatic ironies abound in Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, and the story of Kikuhiko’s life is quite possibly the best story ever told through anime.
