Anyways, one of my favourite interactions in 1.06 is Lucerys asking ‘father’ to hold Joffrey and both Laenor & Harwin reacting without hesitation.

I decided to rewatch HoD and I must say... Vaemond is a decent guy.
He complains, sure, he does not like Daemon, that's obvious, but I would say that he's a better person than his brother... He wasn't too proud to ask for help when it was obviously needed, they're near without supplies, losing ships and men, he did what neither his brother or Daemon did: he wrote to the small council and asked for help.
He stops Corlys from causing a scene at Laena's funeral. He actually seemed startled with the way his brother acted with Laenor's paramour.
He had his house best interest in mind. This dude would stay quiet if it was his nephew inheriting, he would bite his tongue, but Laenor's death means that Driftmark and High Tide would pass directly to a bastard with no blood tie to House Velaryon. Vaemond is not Corlys he does not care for history remembering names, he cares for blood and tradition.
And he died for it. He was murdered at open court, and no one did anything. His murder wasn't even reprimanded, not a slap on the wrist.
Vaemond deserved better😔

You know one thing I’ve noticed being parroted around a lot are about how ‘sweet’ the strong boys are, just repeating what the protagonist Rhaenrya views her sons as she has stated it within the show herself. (Which is fine as people are entitled to their own opinions). I suppose it doesn’t help with the way the team black boys have been casted, younger actors & an actual teen matching the character’s age, looking all cherub/innocent like with the awkward hairstyles emphasises their youthful ages & the framing by show is heavily in the favour of the blacks.
Compare this to the team green boys Aemond and Aegon (both phenomenal actors perfectly cast to portray them) but considering Aemond is supposed to be a teen what 16 or 19? (the show-runners can’t seem to do basic maths, lol) however, as an audience member subconsciously Aemond is viewed as an adult & treated/judged as such with his actions. Again the negative framing by the show of him in manipulating the GA perceptions of the teams, I’m really surprised they didn’t play a villainous theme tune as like with Darth Vader every time he appeared on screen but I think that would have been a-bit too obvious, lmao. It’s not like the camera framework & Aemond’s get up in black, heavy smirking in the background isn’t already doing so.
Anyways having watched the show, I happen to be believe that they are not these sweet harmless little princes, in particular, Jace hides a much darker personality, imo. For instance, in the courtyard back at Kingslanding with Luke he says “it doesn’t matter what they think” so on the surface you could argue oh how sweet he is trying to comfort his brother but shows his self-entitlement in viewing the other lords/people as beneath them & we know Rhaenrya has told him “you are a Targaryen that’s all that matters” so it has been instilled in him this belief in the Targaryen exceptionalism being closer to gods than men because of their dragons. Also, that line mirrors young Rhaenrya with “their wants are of no consequence” about the small folk again showing self-entitlement & an attitude that would make them poor future leaders.
Jace having this belief instilled in him, I feel it would explain why they all picked on Aemond because whilst Aemond may be a legitimate true-born prince who was undeniably a Targaryen with the Valyrian looks, what didn’t he have? A dragon!! so Jace with his inferiority complex/issues & superiority complex combined, knowing he was a bastard targets/bullies Aemond unfairly for this (for being what he should have been if he was fathered by Laenor) to make Aemond feel bad, inferior & inadequate like him, which they were successful in.
As we saw this made Aemond risk his life attempting to claim a dragon with helaena saying “he did it again” (hinting that Aemond at 10-12 risked himself numerous times) and it was shown twice with his failed attempt with dreamfyre & his successful attempt with vhagar. As Rhaenyra has instilled in him being a Targaryen is the most important BS & the biggest symbolism of this is having a dragon. So, when Aemond finally claims a dragon, Jace is now unable to see or convince himself as better than or being more Targaryen than Aemond.
Hence, his anger when they all jumped him 4v1 beating him & when Aemond was managing to defend himself & calls them for what he is “a bastard” Jace’s rage comes out, not because he thought Aemond was going to kill Luke with a rock as he had lowered his hand holding it. It was Aemond saying “lord strong” which made him pull out the knife & slashing with the intent to kill him. Again Aemond managed to defend himself & the knife dropped on the floor, so obviously Aemond lifts the rock up again to use as a deterrent as there is now also a knife bought in the fight. The strong boys shared a glance & threw sand in his face blinding him & Luke slashed his eye.
We all know what happened after, they didn’t get punished for it, viserys sided with them reaffirming his favouritism & threatening to remove tongues for questioning their legitimacy. Rhaenyra didn’t care to discipline them for it, thus, reaffirming their self-entitlement that they are correct in their behaviours & did nothing wrong.
Another example of Jace self-entitlement, inferiority complex & bullying behaviour was during the toast speech. It was Aegon who pissed him off & some with an optimistic view would argue his toast was trying to bury the hatchet with “fond memories of our youth”, however, he was looking at Aemond with a slight smirk knowing full well it may have been fun for him it was not for Aemond- he was targeting him again when it was Aegon who bothered him & Aemond was minding his own business. The reason for this? Because he is comfortable to be looking down/belittling/bullying Aemond.
Again, with the dance with helaena, some would argue how chivalrous of Jace for feeling sorry for Heleana being alone but it was to piss off both Aegon & Aemond. Moving on, with the speech & then Luke laughing at the pig, Aemond loses his temper, rightly so. As all he was trying to do during the dinner was ignore them, both Jace & Luke have triggered him with the past, so he gives the infamous strong speech, to push back & give them a taste of their own medicine.
Jace is the one who then loses his temper & his first typical reaction when he does?? is to be physically violent & throws the first punch & which side does he purposely target?? Aemond’s blind/injured & vulnerable side of his face. The punch was laughable, Aemond didn’t even spill his drink & with one push was thrown down. Exactly like his younger behaviour showing no growth, he get back up & during this altercation, Luke had tried to join to gang up on Aemond again. So both brothers are unable to take the heat that they dish out & fight fairly 1 to 1, but, really what could’ve Luke have really done, lmao.
They should of known when they saw Aemond earlier that day in the courtyard training. At the time, it’s clear both strong boys didn’t know it was him (with the typical targaryen blonde hair they maybe could of mistaken him for Aegon) & were super impressed with his prowess/skill, before he turned around with the eyepatch & their faces said it all, like ‘oh shit’ & then soured that the person who they perceived weaker/beneath them during childhood is a skilled swordsman, unlike them. Another thing that Aemond has/is that the strong boys don’t to add to Jace’s list, alongside having both of a mix of a inferiority complex & superiority complex, a ‘sweet prince’ he is not.

Can you write a post with ur thoughts about the line "What have I done but what was expected of me? Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law" cause alicent is the biggest hypocrite to me
Oh yeah this scene is where Alicent's true character shines through the most. She takes a situation where her son has sustained a traumatic injury and has been caught spouting treason and turns it into an opportunity to attack Rhaenyra and her family. Her hatred of Rhaenyra and desire to undermine her overshadows everything else.
Alicent disrespects the Velaryons at least twice in the scene, more than that it's in their own keep on the day of their daughter's funeral. This makes no political sense, as it just distances the Velaryons, one of the most powerful houses at this time. All she sees is how disparaging Laenor, Lucerys, and by extension Corlys, is a way to attack Rhaenyra.
Aemond has just been maimed, in part due to the constant of treason she teaches him (granted she doesn't actually know what happened during the fight). However, the main target of her anger and hatred is Rhaenyra, not Lucerys who wielded the knife, or Viserys who doesn't seem to care enough. She reveals her true motivation when she says her "iconic" line.
Tumblr media
Alicent reveals her true reason for hating Rhaenyra and her family. Rhaenyra refuses to be bound by Westerosi traditions and isn't being punished enough for it. Rhaenyra being named heir is a break from tradition (not law as some TG stans claim). Rhaenyra has had premarital and extramarital sex and hasn't been disinherited or executed for it. Rhaenyra has had sons who aren't her husband's yet they are still declared legitimate.
Alicent is a woman who has been harmed by the patriarchy, but instead of directing her anger at the institution that hurt her, she instead focuses it on women who refuses to be used like she was. Alicent wants the women around her to suffer like she did. That's why she hates that Rhaenyra didn't force herself and Laenor to have sex despite neither wanting it. That's why she wants Rhaenyra to sacrifice everything for Aegon's claim.
This bitterness and hatred is Alicent's core motivation, tainting even things that are supposed to be good. Alicent's love for her children is corrupted by her desire to put Rhaenyra "in her place", hence why she hurts each of them in her pursuit.
Anon, you are very much correct, Alicent is a massive hypocrite. To her the Faith, Westerosi law, and the good of the realm mean basically nothing. Her only priority is upholding the patriarchy and ensuring Rhaenyra suffers at least as much as she did.
Alicent preaches honor and decency, protecting the realm, protecting her children, and following the law while she disregards and trapples each of them. She supports and protects murderers and rapists, where's the honor or decency in that? She causes a war to put an incompetent drunk on the throne, killing thousands of innocent people and burning a massive chunk of the land. She sentences each of her children to death with her actions. And finally, she commits treason again and again, which is obviously breaking the law.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rhaenyra is right, we know all we need to about Alicent once this scene is over. She's nothing more than a bitter and vengeful hypocrite who wants to tear Rhaenyra down because she rebels against the system.

Wait, what do you mean Laenor and Addam are "possibly implied to have the same sexuality"?
So this idea is based off GRRM's tendency to repeat/recycle certain themes for characters from the same family. Seriously, just look at any Westerosi family we get extensive details about and you'll see that GRRM employs this writing method quite often.
As I was saying in this post, Corlys' children are juxtaposed against each other: Addam to Laenor and Alyn to Laena. Fire & Blood makes it evident enough that Laenor is a gay man and with how he shares other parallels with Addam, the nature of their sexuality might be something they also have in common. Now obviously take this with a grain of salt because Fire & Blood tends to be ambiguous in how it presents information. I know there are people in fandom who consider Laenor to be bisexual though I personally (as a bisexual person) don't see it. I've always interpreted him as a gay man. We're given plenty of relevant information concerning Laenor's relationships to other men to reach this conclusion (he's described as preferring the company of exclusively men over women and the overall depiction of his relationships with Joffrey & Qarl all emphasize his homosexuality).
As for Addam, the text does present his "interactions" (using that term loosely) with other male characters in a certain light that leaves room for interpretation.
This moment with Benji having Addam's body taken to Raventree Hall (instead of returning him to Driftmark 😒):
At moonrise the riverlords abandoned the field to the carrion crows, fading back into the hills. One of them, the boy Ben Blackwood, carried with him the broken body of Ser Addam Velaryon, found dead beside his dragon. His bones would rest at Raventree Hall for eight years.
mirrors a similar moment with Loras & Renly, a gay couple:
“I buried him with mine own hands, in a place he showed me once when I was a squire at Storm’s End. No one shall ever find him there to disturb his rest.”
And it's not until 8 years after Addam's death that Benji actually returns his body back to Alyn who seems to have discovered the whereabouts of his brother's body at last. Now I doubt Benji just forgot he was keeping Addam's body back home. At the end of the war, he spent some time around Corlys, years later he and Alyn were together in the Vale, and even after that, they went on their road trip to King's Landing together. But it's not until some more years have passed that Benji finally returns Addam's body to his family. I just find his behaviour suspicious tbh. How do you forget you're keeping someone's dead body at home when you're spending considerable time around that person's family members?? All those chances Benji had to mention that Addam's body is with house Blackwood and he doesn't say anything until 8 years later when Alyn seems to have found out this information and gotten his brother's bones back. Putting aside my personal fave headcanon of Addam actually surviving Tumbleton and residing at the Isle of Faces for those 8 years, Benji's behaviour presents a parallel to that of Loras who buried his lover, Renly, and refused to divulge that information to anyone.
Then there is also the "mating dance" of Addam's dragon Seasmoke with Tessarion, ridden by another male, Daeron Targaryen:
One such said afterward that the flight of Tessarion and Seasmoke seemed more mating dance than battle. Perhaps it was.
Also this passage:
Who can know the heart of a dragon? Was it simple bloodlust that drove the Blue Queen to attack? Did the she-dragon come to help one of the combatants? If so, which? Some will claim that the bond between a dragon and dragonrider runs so deep that the beast shares his master’s loves and hates. But who was the ally here, and who the enemy? Does a riderless dragon know friend from foe?
The books do emphasize the close ties dragonriders have to their dragons (eg. when a dragonrider is hurt their dragon expresses the pain). Even such things as dragons mating with other dragons is only presented in 2 other instances:
Silverwing and Vermithor oft coiled about one another in the fields south of Tumbleton.
Rhaenyra’s dragon Syrax laid several clutches of eggs, doubtless the result of matings with Caraxes.
In all of these instances, the dragons are bonded to riders who are linked together (whether platonic or romantic): Jaehaerys & Alysanne were a married couple, Hugh & Ulf are also presented as a united front every step of the way in the books, Daemon & Rhaenyra are another married couple. So going off that pattern, Addam & Daeron's dragons having a mating dance would suggest a link between them too, either as allies or lovers. Since Addam torched Daeron's entire camp, I very much doubt they were allies. Though the lovers angle doesn't really work in this scenario either. The more likelier interpretation would be that of ex-lovers who knew each other before the war, hence the quote about the dragon sharing the rider's loves and hates.
Going back to my above linked post which you were inquiring about, Addam & Laenor having the same sexuality and yet being different in how they approach their positions as Corlys' heirs does present an interesting dichotomy. Because Laenor, due to his sexuality, does not fulfill the expected duty required of someone in his position (which btw I don't hold against him; I think Laenor exerting autonomy over his own life despite the closeted society he lived in is a great character detail). Meanwhile, Addam is described as "duty bound", so in this interpretation of him being attracted to men, despite his sexuality, he would be someone who always puts family expectations over his own wishes. That would primarily be due to his background as an illegitimate child but it does serve to contrast him once again with Laenor who grew up as his father's trueborn son.

Guuys i'm back! And with the finest team black arguments in town! Today our contestant is:
"Alicent is an evil bitch for trying to expose Rhaenyra's sons as bastards, she could have gotten them killed!"
This one is surprisingly popular amongst the blacks, but unsurprisingly dumb. And I'll say why:
First things first, can someone explain to me the reason behind everyone's belief that the strong boys would be killed for this? They are just kids, who took no part in Rhaenyra's lies regarding their legitimacy. The poor children actually believed they were Laenor's sons! (Well except Jace but whatever.)
The real culprits in this mess are their parents, who willingly had them while being fully aware that if exposed on their bs they would be punished. The boys wouldn't be harmed at all, the worst thing that would happen to them would be losing the Velaryon family name, becoming Waters, and getting kicked off the line of succession.
Sucks for them but definitely better that a sword in the neck.
Speaking of their parents. Nyra would have to be disinherited for attempting to put her baseborns on the throne, cheating on her spouse and generally bringing so much shame to the royal family.
Sucks for her too, but you know, reap what you sow girl. You knew the risks.
The one who would actually face serious consequences would be Harwin, for sleeping with the princess and all. Normally he would probably have to be executed, but not before being given the chance to take the black, which he would definitely pick.
So yeah, sucks for you sure, but you keep your head, your dick, and only lose your inheritance. Lmao on second thought this would be a better alternative for him, Larys wouldn't have to kill him to inherit, and he'd be freezing his ass on the wall instead of burning it in Harrenhall.
Happy ending for Lord Strong.
And with that said Alicent would not be causing the deaths of innocent kids and would be able to secure the future reign of her son, so why exactly would that make her an evil selfish bitch? When has trying to avoid your children's inevitable execution at the hands of their half sister been a bad thing?
Team black only really wants Ali to bend over and die, just so that their feminist queen can take over lol. They unironically demand a woman to give up all her agency for someone else, how progressive of them.
Funny how I made this long ass post explaining how Nyra would have to face the consequences of her actions for once in her life but obviously this would only happen in an au where Vizzy was an actual competent king who didn't just live to give his "only child" all that she asks him to.
In our timeline he would just keep denying their bastardry and cutting tongues of all who disagree. And if it became impossible for him to deny reality anymore, he would immediately pardon Nyra and Harwin and legitimize the Strongs, then promptly pretend that nothing happened. It would be infuriating, but also hilariously bad ngl.

can i ask for any details about the hotd/jjk fic?
you mean aside from this lil WIP snippet?
I think I'm gonna call it "Write myself out of the history books" a line from All Time Low to match the rest of my 'Dropping Gojo into fandoms he didn't ask to be in' works 😂
His name is Soren and let's just pretend its Valyrian when in actuality it's just one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters (I feel like Gojo would appreciate that though, prolly a Soren stan himself lol)
His dragon hatches in his crib and idk I headcanon that Rhaenyra would wait to let him name it himself because she probably did the same with Syrax? But then 2 yr-old Gojo is like 'her name is Blue Eyes White Dragon' and Rheanyra is like 'wtf no' and also, this is why you shouldn't let kids name their own damn dragons. Rhaenyra refuses to let him name his dragon after what she doesn't realize is a Yu-gi-oh card, and in they settle for Sylvion, which she thinks is just some obscure Valyrian word/reference his 'Uncle' Daemon taught him, but is in fact a Pokemon that bears striking resemblance to his dragon. It's one of Dreamfyre's eggs, mostly bright white, with blue accents and some slight pink in the membranes, hence, Sylvion. Which is also Gojo's favorite pokemon, so he's two for two with references in this life.
He knows damn well that Daemon is not his Uncle, and they (Rhaenyra, Daemon, Laenor) all know he knows even if they collectively don't acknowledge it. He's Daemon and Rhaenyra's 'accidental brothel baby' that she had to get shotgun wedding'd to Laenor for, which is why he's much older than canon-Jace.
The age gaps are: Satoru/Soren (0), Aegon (+2), Helaena (-1), Aemond (-2), Jace (-3), Luke (-4) idk if Joff or Daeron will be in this.
Aegon is in love with him literally at first sight. He's going to PINE FOREVER. Like so much angst when he realizes he doesn't just adore his nephew in a purely platonic sense - which his mother/grandfather already dislike - but is in fact homosexually and audaciously in love with him lol. He definitely tries to fuck himself out of his own gayness, which absolutely does not work, esp when he starts ending up gravitating to regular female whores to male whores who all bear a striking resemblance to his nephew.
Does Gojo know? Hmm yes but not really. It doesn't even cross his mind even though he is also very gay, and also knows incest is casually a normal thing in the Valyrian family. But to him, Aegon is his uncle, and also a man in a 'don't say gay' world, so he kind of intentionally doesn't look too deeply into it. He does notice Egg is very attached to him, but he's not sure how much of that is familial and platonic and just Egg's very handsy personality versus romantic. They played a lot together as kids, slept in the same bed etc back when they were young enough it didn't mean anything, and obviously Gojo never felt that way about what he thought was a 'cute sticky dumpling of a kid who thinks he hung the moon' so it'll be a longgg and difficult shift for him to see Egg in any other way.
Aemond worships him in a strictly platonic sense that totally feeds his god complex. Gojo is literally the warrior reborn to him. He's a one man army and everyone knows it and he's so out of any mortal's league instead of being jealous about it Aemond just straight up adores him like a god. Daemon and Laena don't get together in this fic (RIP Baela and Rhaena) so Laena is still alive and has Vhagar, so idk maybe Aemond has Vermithor.
On a related note, everyone worships him as a god (or a Valyrian devil, *ahem* Hightowers *ahem*) bc to them he may as well be one. He has all his OG powers, he's invincible and untouchable and literally unstoppable. He achieves infamy the world over during Stepstones Round 2 where he absolutely obliterates an entire army and a few islands besides. He straight up asks his 'grandfather' Corlys if he should just eradicate the whole island chain and permanently solve the problem. Of course, the story gets convoluted with the whole medieval 'he said she said' chain of communication so there are plenty of non-believers still. LOL jokes on them.
He adores Rhaenyra. Like he likes Laenor a lot, and is partial to his little brothers (yes Jace and Luke exist, idk if they're Laenor's or Daemon's yet tho. They would't be Harwins bc Rhaenyra took one look at Gojo and was like 'shit he's 100% Valyrian its gonna look weird as hell if his siblings dont look like him at all') and has a soft spot for his 'Uncle' Daemon, but the reason he even bothers to stick around and not just fuck off to Essos to raise his own empire is because of her. I headcanon Gojo to have zero relationship with his parents in JJK - which unfortunately is expected from 'the patriarch' aka his father, but deeply hurt him in regards to his mother, who also cared nothing for him. Yes total double standard, but that's patriarchy for you. Anyway Rhaenyra is the opposite - she cherishes him from day 1, and whether that's because she truly loved him at first sight or just loved the idea of a child of hers and Daemon's who knows. But she doted on him and took care of him in a way anomalous for mother's in Westeros, and Gojo always took note of that. He'd burn the world for her - or in this instance, cower it into submission so she can have her throne in peace.
He doesn't mind playing the 'radiant prince' for her, being the faultless and impossibly perfect heir to the throne, because he knows it strengthens her claim immeasurably when his achievements so obviously outshine her direct competitor (Egg, who in fact does not give a shite about the throne and just wants to run away on his dragon with Soren). He even quietly submits himself to the idea of taking a wife because he knows that's also expected of him, although he plans on copying Laenor and having some threesome magic going on. Will that have to come to pass though? Hmm idk yet
THERE WILL BE ZOMBIES. No Night King, but I absolutely believe that Gojo accidentally would become the Prince who was Promised. His birth once again upsets the balance of yet another world, and shifts events into motion that would have laid dormant otherwise. Does he bring magic back into world with his birth? That would be interesting. Idk yet tho.
I also believe in the Maester conspiracy, so that might be in this fic too

if viserys married sickly!brother reader to rhaenyra, how do you think everyone would react? alicent’s reaction would make her reaction to aemond’s eye look like a a peaceful talk in comparison
Tw: Mentions of incest, taking advantage of someone, murderous plots
If Viserys were to have married Rhaenyra to Sickly!Brother!Reader before Laenor than that would have been the end of Alicent and Rhaenyra’s friendship. The moment Viserys announced it, Alicent would have been absolutely done with Rhaenyra. She would feel betrayed, similar to how Rhaenyra felt when Viserys announced his betrothal to Alicent. She would never, ever forgive Rhaenyra for taking the Reader from her like that. Alicent would still very much be adamant about being in charge of and the one to care for the Reader and his health. Not to mention, now that Rhaenyra is married to the Reader and would no doubt be firm in wanting to share a bed with the Reader, then that means Alicent’s nightly/rapey visits to the Reader would be put an end to. Alicent would definitely be plotting the death of Rhaenyra much sooner than later. Honestly, Alicent would do her best to bite her tongue and keep her composure so she doesn’t try to strangle the life out of Rhaenyra. She would desperately try to come off as calm and collected, even if the way she congratulates Rhaenyra is obviously forced, but internally she is burning with such an intensity it could put wildfire to shame.
Rhaenyra would be absolutely over the moon now that she gets to marry her Sickly!Uncle!Reader, after much persuading and, dare she say, begging on her part to get her father to give her what she wants, Rhaenyra finally has her beloved uncle. Honestly, at this point in time Daemon could rot for all she cares. No matter how much Rhaenyra did care for Deamon, her even more beloved Uncle!Reader is much more worthwhile in the end to her. He never left her behind, he was always there for her when she needed someone most and even when she didn’t need anyone at all. The Reader was consistent where Daemon wasn’t and that especially is what meant the most to Rhaenyra. Even at his worst, the Reader would still gladly have her company by his side and hear her speak her mind or rant about her day and the idiots at court. Not to mention, if this was after she had done the unthinkable and disgraced her Uncle similar to Alicent than she would already be pregnant and would much rather the Reader know about his child and get to be an actual father to them and the others to come than having to pretend that the child was someone else’s. Things would certainly be different if Rhaenyra had married Laenor first and secretly had her Sickly!Uncle!Reader father all her children and then passing them off as Laenor’s only to marry the Reader after Laenor ‘dies’ and revealing to her uncle about her children really being his.
I feel like Daemon would certainly be surprised and slightly annoyed that Viserys actually allowed Rhaenyra to be wed to their younger brother but not him. But I also feel like if he knew that Rhaenyra pushed for it than he’d be much more suspicious about the whole thing. Was this just to get at him? Or was there something more to this? Either way, Daemon doesn’t like that his younger brother is being used in whatever way he is. He may even become mistrustful of Rhaenyra because of this but he can’t say that he isn’t more relieved that his brother is with her and not the Green Bitch.
Viserys would be far more tolerating of his Sickly!Younger!Brother!Reader marrying his daughter over Daemon. But I don’t doubt that he did use his brother’s health as a way to deter Rhaenyra from marrying him at all but when she kept at it, incessantly insisting that she couldn’t careless whether he was in good health or not, Viserys found it harder to make excuses. Not to mention I could see Lyonel Strong advising Viserys that this would be beneficial to keeping the Realm and Seven Kingdoms together and at peace since he’s called for Rhaenyra being his heir. Even if he had named his Sickly!Brother!Reader as his heir instead this would go about keeping with the Targaryen tradition. I also wouldn’t doubt that Viserys has visited with the Reader and talked to him about Rhaenyra’s incessant want to marry him, only for the Reader to be the one more so who isn’t accepting of it because she’s his brother’s daughter. Even though he’s well aware of their family tradition, it just doesn’t sit well with him which leads to Viserys’ plethora of excuses to keeping Rhaenyra from wedding the Reader.

What if Laena Velaryon had been born a boy?
this one is a stumper for me because it changes a LOT (bc, and I cannot emphasize this enough, but Laena is important to the plot and to Rhaenyra as a character!!)
The great council still sides with Viserys because Laenor was alive, and Rhaenys pushed his claim in canon, so having a slightly older son isn't going to do much for that.
Where this really starts to affect the plot is when Viserys is looking to remarry. Laena is pushed forward as the "correct" match because she is Valyrian, and it would soothe Corlys and Rhaenys' ruffled feathers from the GC 101. But if they have no daughters, that clearly doesn't happen. This also means there is straight up no Valyrian woman able to marry and have children except Rhaenyra during this time period which is a little wild (Rhaenys and maybe Jocelyn are alive, but past child bearing years, and these people just refuse to marry Celtigars which is deeply funny). Viserys has some room to pick whoever he wants to marry in this situation though, and I think it's not unlikely that more than Otto tries to take advantage of that (but Otto is still going to win).
HOWEVER. Especially after Rhaenyra is named heir, I think Corlys starts pushing that a boy Laena (obviously she's called Laenor, and probably actual Laenor is called like, Lucerys or something) marries Rhaenyra. I think it's likely he throws himself behind Rhaenyra hard, insisting that Laena and House Velaryon will uphold her claim, protect her birthright, "We Will Be Strong As We Were In Old Valyria By Joining Our Blood", etc etc, and since Viserys is not snubbing Corlys by refusing to marry Laena, I think there’s a non zero chance Laena and Rhaenyra are engaged very young.
But what does this mean for the Dance? Well…
Rhaenyra is probably less hostile to her marriage. Laena is a daring dragon rider who adores his mother & supports Rhaenyra and, most importantly, can give her heirs, so I think Rhaenyra pushes against this marriage much less. However, part of Rhaenyra’s anger over the engagement isn’t just the risk of marrying a man who may not give her children, or easing her father’s political headaches, but the idea that Rhaenyra is not allowed sexual freedom while Daemon and Viserys (and later Aegon) all are. So whether Rhaenyra is hostile to the marriage largely depends on how well she gets on with Laena and whether she feels like has control over her sexuality. In canon they are close, but in canon Laena is a woman and that does make a difference. There’s also The Criston Cole And Daemon Of It All - if Rhaenyra has a fiancé looking out for her, does Rhaenyra get so attached to him? Does whatever happens the night she goes to Daemon & Criston still happen?
It’s all kind of hard to say considering both Eustace and Mushroom are full of shit and Gyldayn is a raging misogynist. And regardless of the fallout of that, what Laena gives Rhaenyra is incredibly important - Valyrian looking heirs. With at the very least a Jacaerys that looks like a Velaryon (because he is by blood this time), a large part of the Greens propaganda falls apart. Yes, she’s a woman, but she has a Valyrian heir with a husband she probably likes & takes an active role in her life, and the unwavering support of the Velaryons. PLUS with the dragon twins gone, that frees Jace up to marry literally anyone - like, say, Helaena! Or potentially, one of the storm sisters! And if anyone gets too cute with Rhaenyra, well, Laena has Vhagar!
Again, the wildcards here are Criston and Daemon. Daemon especially has no way back into the main Targaryen line because there are no Valyrian women for him to marry. I think that makes him much more erratic when Rhaenyra marries, because he can see his hopes of being “accepted” slipping away and he has no other option to turn to.
So….Rhaenyra is theoretically better off by the time her father dies. If she cares for Laena as a man the way she cared for Laena as a woman, she will have the full backing of House Velaryon, a legitimate heir who is free to make a great political match, a husband happy to back her claim, and once again, Vhagar on her side and Aemond defanged. The question is if this marriage stays happy or if it sours because Rhaenyra feels stifled, or Daemon/Cole does something particularly deranged about it at any point.

My favorite thing in this fandom's reddit presence is that while people in the ASOIAF subreddit have interesting conversations about succession, politics, geography and cultures by drawing real life parallels, speculating about theories and debating claims based on several aspects of this world in context, any succession debate in the HOTD subreddit is basically "Who cares if Rhaenyra's kids are bastards, the king and Laenor says they aren't so it obviously should not and would not cause any problems amongst anyone and would not have any consequences in the future if the Greens weren't sexist assholes."
Like not saying there aren't rotten people in the ASOIAF sub or perceptive people in the HOTD sub but the way most of the posts and comments go makes it clear that HOTD sub is just full of Targaryen stans (very specifically, not actual fans of the series but just this family) who scream in excitement at Daemyra, dragon and #girlboss scenes and watch with one eye on their phone during anything else, who are allergic to any discussions with the slightest bit of depth

Gwayne/Joffrey pwp
I have no idea why I wrote 4k pwp😅
“Are you sure you will be okay?” Joffrey said, drying his son’s hair with a fluffy towel. Little Jo inherited Joffrey’s wild curls, though blonde, the texture was the same. Joffrey took his time to properly dry the curls with a towel before taking up the hairdryer.
“Of course! I am a big boy now!” Joffrey Jr. pouted, obviously annoyed by his mother’s (unnecessary) concern, “Laenor tells me he has been sleeping on his own since he was three. I am four already! I can sleep on my own!”
“Of course you can, big boy.” Joffrey squeezed his son’s shoulder gently to stop the restless boy from moving, “Let me dry your hair first, so you can sleep in the guest room on your own, okay?”
Joffrey brushed the boy’s hair with his finger and began blow-drying the soft curls. Joffrey Jr. looked exactly like his mother, except for the coloring. Little Jo had the same coloring of his father, blonde hair and grey blue eyes. The two Joffreys were wearing similar pajamas, both perching on the king-size bed comfortably, a warm light on the nightstand making their skin glow. It was the sight Gwayne saw as he entered the master bedroom in his bathrobe.
“Papa!” Jo noticed his father first, his face perking up with a bright smile.
Gwayne smiled and walked to the bed. He wrapped one arm around Joffrey before planting a kiss on the omega’s cheek. Gwayne had just come out of shower, his hair still dripping water, cold water drops landed on Joffrey’s warm skin.
“Stop it.” Joffrey side-eyed him, “Go dry your own hair, Gwayne. I won’t do it for you.”
“Why not?” Gwayne chuckled, showing no intention of letting Joffrey go, “I can wait until you are finished with Jo.”
“You are 34,” Joffrey rolled his eyes, his cheeks turning pink from Gwayne’s intimacy, “not 4. Don’t act like a spoiled boy.”
“No.” Gwayne seemed determined to be difficult tonight, “I miss your blow-dry skills, Joff.”
“You have to say the magic word, papa.” Jo chimed in, poking at his father’s arm.
“Oh, right. I forgot.” Gwayne touched the boy’s soft cheeks before turning to his husband, “Can you dry my hair today, please, Joff?”
Joffrey sighed, but didn’t reject. How could he say no to Gwayne’s pleading eyes, even though he knew Gwayne was only faking it.
“Wait until I am done with Jo.” Joffrey said, his blushing deepened when Gwayne planted another kiss to the corner of his lips.
“See, papa, it is important to say the magical word!” Jo tried to turn his head, but was stopped by Joffrey’s hand on his shoulder.
“Stay still. You can lecture your father when I am done, okay?”
Joffrey Jr. could be mischievous sometime, but he was a mommy’s boy. He was extremely clingy ever since he was still a baby. Gwayne still remembered how difficult it was for Joffrey to wean. Little Jo would cry for a whole night, and nothing Gwayne did could make him stop. It was the hunger that finally made the baby take a sip of the formula milk. Little Jo insisted on sleeping on his parents’ bed even though he had his own very nicely decorated room. It was not hard to imagine how shocked Joffrey was when Jo said he would like to sleep in the guest room of the cabin they stayed in.
Gwayne always took a week off in Winter to take his family on a trip to enjoy snow sports. Joffrey liked skiing, and Jo definitely inherited the interest from his mother. They had arrived at the Winterfell resort this morning, and spent the whole afternoon exploring different skiing trails. To be honest, Gwayne was exhausted from staying in the cold weather for so long, so he was actually relieved that his son decided to sleep in the other room. He couldn’t wait to spend some quality time with his husband.
“All right, done.” Joffrey switched off the hair dryer and brushed the little boy’s hair with his finger, “Do you need something before bed? Warm milk?”
“I’ll make it myself!” The boy jumped off the bed and ran for the small cabin kitchen.
“Be careful!” Joffrey tried to follow the boy, but Gwayne’s strong arm around his waist stopped the omega.
“Let him do it.” Gwayne said, tightening his arms to make Joffrey fall back to the bed, “He can use the microwave better than I do.”
“You spoil him too much.” Joffrey pouted. He might be a worrying mother to his son, but he was always the innocent omega Gwayne met at a networking party.
“I think most people would have different opinions.” Gwayne chuckled, kissing Joffrey’s pouty lips, “You are the one who has separating issues.”
“I have not!” Joffrey retorted, puffing his cheeks out like a little boy. He looked incredibly young like this, more like the freshly bloomed omega Gwayne had met at a networking event all these years ago. Gwayne had almost forgotten how young Joffrey was, only in his mid-twenties despite already having a four-year-old boy.
“Jo’s already four, you know. He will want freedom rather than company soon.” Gwayne said, cupping Joffrey’s face with his large palm, “The best thing for us parents to do is letting him have his own choice.”
“Don’t remind me.” Joffrey sighed, pressing his face harder into his alpha’s warm hand, “I can’t believe my boy is old enough to sleep alone now. Soon he will find his mama annoying and lock himself in his room doing God forbid what. He will move out of the house and go to college before I even realize what is happening.”
“Hey, hey, slow down.” Gwayne pressed their foreheads together and squeezed Joffrey’s cheek gently, “It’ll be still a long time before Jo goes to college, okay? You will have plenty of time to spend with our son still. Besides, I don't think Jo will ever find you annoying. He asks about you every 5 minutes when you are out of his sight. Where is mama? When will mama come back? Can we go and see him?”
Joffrey chuckled at Gwayne’s poor attempt at mimicking their son. He knew rationally that it was a normal growing up process for Jo to become less dependent on him, but it still made Joffrey sad. He had been so used to reading bedtime stories and having Jo’s little arm around him when sleeping. Perhaps Gwayne was right. He was having separating issues.
“He doesn’t want bedtime story today.” Joffrey murmured.
“You know what? I am actually glad that he decides to sleep on his own.” Gwayne raised his eyebrow dramatically, “Finally I don't have to share my husband with a spoiled devil. I can have you completely to myself tonight.”
“Jo’s your son.” Joffrey reminded the alpha, though he knew Gwayne was only joking.
“So what? You are my omega.” Gwayne kissed the bridge of Joffrey’s nose, “I don't want to share you with anyone, even my own pup.”
Joffrey laughed, his hand slowly sliding up Gwayne’s back to rest at the alpha’s nape to play with the wet blonde locks. Gwayne’s lips came down to Joffrey’s own and they shared a lazy kiss tasting like mint toothpaste.
“Mama, are you drying papa’s hair?” A boy’s voice came from the bedroom entrance, almost scaring Joffrey out of his skin. Joffrey broke the kiss immediately and turned to his son with bright red cheeks.
“No, uh, I mean, I am about to.” Joffrey tried, cursing himself for his clumsy tongue.
Jo sipped on his drink, looking more confused than suspicious. There was some milk foam above his upper lip, as if he had grown a white mustache.
“Okay.” Jo said, trying to lick off the milk foam but his tongue was too short to do so.
Joffrey tried to slip off the bed, but Gwayne beat him to it. The alpha came to pick up his pup, wiping off the ridiculous white mustache with his thumb before giving the little boy a half-hearted tickle on the stomach.
“Finish off your milk and say good night to mama, little man.” Gwayne said, “It’s time for bed now.”
Jo quickly gulped down all his milk before murmuring a goodnight to Joffrey. The omega couldn't help but smile at the adorable scene in front him. His husband carrying their son, who was holding a cute black cat mug with both his little hands. Joffrey came off bed as well, and walked to the pair to give Jo a goodnight kiss.
“Goodnight, sweet boy.” Joffrey kissed the boy’s forehead then his cheek, “Sleep tight.”
“Goodnight, mama.” Jo yawned, blinking tiredly at his mother. It was a miracle the boy had managed to stay up this late, considering he had been running about in the snow all afternoon.
Gwayne carried the sleepy boy to the guest room and tucked him in. Gwayne kissed the tip of the boy’s nose before dimming the light. Jo already had a hard time keeping his eyes open, so Gwayne left as quietly as he could, leaving the door open a crack in case Jo woke up at night and wanted to find his parents. Gwayne didn't go back to the master bedroom immediately; instead, he went to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of chilled wine and two glasses. By the time he returned to the master bedroom, Joffrey had already made himself comfortable on the bed.
“Wine?” Gwayne asked, placing down the two glasses on the nightstand before joining his husband on bed.
“I thought you want me to dry your hair.” Joffrey said, but he didn't object when Gwayne filled the two glasses.
“I still do.” Gwayne replied, sitting in front of Joffrey with his legs crossed, wine glass in hand, “It doesn’t mean I can’t have wine in the meantime.”
Joffrey put a dry towel over Gwayne’s head and pressed. Gwayne’s hair had mostly dried, so Joffrey quickly removed the towel and replaced it with his finger, massaging the alpha’s scalp gently.
“Aren’t you tired?” Joffrey asked, kneading his thumb into Gwayne’s nape.
“Hmmm, a little.” The alpha sighed contentedly, “But not enough to fall asleep now. I want to spend some alone time with you. How long since the last time we enjoyed wine in bed?”
“Long enough.” Joffrey chuckled, brushing Gwayne’s golden locks with his finger before switching on the hairdryer. He kept the heat low, for Gwayne’s hair was far more fragile than his own. He didn't want to mess up his husband’s perfect blonde hair.
It didn't take long to blow-dry Gwayne’s hair. Joffrey kept his finger through Gwayne’s hair, careful not to pull too hard. Joffrey loved his husband’s hair, so smooth to the touch, like fine golden silk. In fact, Joffrey loved everything about his husband. Gwayne’s pale skin, grey blue eyes, gentle touch, calming alpha scent, and talented tongue. The last part made Joffrey blush, his cheeks turning pink without the wine.
“All right, done.” Joffrey put the hairdryer away and appreciated his handiwork, “God, I love your hair.”
“Only hair?” Gwayne joked, half-turning his head to look at Joffrey, a teasing smile on his lips.
Joffrey didn’t know how to answer, so he acted on impulse and kissed Gwayne’s wine-stained lips. He had probably been horny ever since Gwayne walked in the room with only a bath robe. Their tongue met immediately, the fruity smell of wine and Gwayne’s alpha scent mixing together into something so alluring that caused goose bumps to form on Joffrey’s skin.
“How about my tongue?” Gwayne asked after a long while, when they parted to catch their breaths, “Do you not love my tongue as well?”
“I do. Is that what you want to hear?” Joffrey rolled his eyes playfully, snatching the wine glass from Gwayne and gulped down the remaining content, “I love your eyes, your voice, your scent, your-”
Joffrey never had the chance to finish his sentence because Gwayne sealed their lips together into a much more passionate kiss. Gwayne gently pressed Joffrey down on the bed, kissing the omega with abandon, as if his life depended on it. The alpha didn't give Joffrey any chance to react before inserting his knee between Joffrey’s legs and brushed against the omega’s private parts over Joffrey’s pajamas. The omega moaned, the empty glass sliding off his hand to the carpeted floor silently, but Joffrey couldn't care less about it now. Gwayne had taken his breath away and drunken up all his moans, leaving Joffrey with nothing but unquenchable thirst for the alpha’s touch.
Gwayne kept teasing Joffrey’s omega parts with his knee, while sliding his lips down Joffrey’s jaw, sucking at the tender flesh of Joffrey’s neck. He ran his tongue over the omega’s scent gland, tracing the bite mark he had left there on their wedding night and taking in Joffrey’s unique omega scent. Warm, sweet, with a hint of spice, like sitting by a burning hearth in the coldest of winter.
“Gwayne, please,” Joffrey murmured, jolting in surprise as Gwayne’s knee brushed hard against his pussy. He could tell he was already wet, the unmistakable sensation of slick leaking out his entrance making him whimper with desire.
Gwayne slid a hand into Joffrey’s pajama, slowly teasing the standing bud on the omega’s chest. Joffrey let out a muffled moan when Gwayne pinched his left nipple.
“Gwayne,” Joffrey called his husband’s name again desperately, but he couldn’t make a coherent sentence now. Gwayne’s hand on his tits, knee pressed against his pussy, and the alpha’s lips hot on his neck. Gwayne was everywhere.
“What do you want, Joff? Tell me.” Gwayne moved up, using his free hand to cup Joffrey’s face and wiping off the trace of saliva from the corner of the brunette’s mouth.
“Touch me,” Joffrey managed to blurt out, “let me feel you, please.”
Before Gwayne could answer, Joffrey took the alpha’s thumb into his warm mouth and sucked eagerly. Joffrey was a mess from their earlier making out. Dark curls splattered on the pillow, dark eyes moist with pleading tears, lips swollen and red, the buttons of his fluffy pajama mostly undone, exposing his plump breast. He looked so beautiful, so alluring, so delicious that Gwayne wanted to devour him whole.
But no. Gwayne was a patient man. He preferred to taste his prize rather than swallowing it whole. The alpha removed his finger from Joffrey’s mouth, drawing a disappointed grunt from the brunette.
“Shh, not so fast.” Gwayne cooed, letting his saliva covered finger gliding down Joffrey’s torso, from the omega’s collar bone to his belly button, leaving a glistening wetness behind. Joffrey shivered at the touch, his skin turning a bright pink as goose bumps began to form, as if chasing Gwayne’s finger. Joffrey tried to move his hip, but Gwayne wouldn’t let him. The alpha trapped Joffrey between his strong legs, making the omega completely at his mercy.
“Stop teasing me.” Joffrey said through gritted teeth. He meant it to be a threat, but the words came out more like a desperate beg.
“I am not teasing.” Gwayne replied, slipping his hand into Joffrey’s pajama pants and squeezed the omega’s pussy over the silky underwear, “I want to make you feel good. How are you feeling right now, Joff? Do you like me playing with your tits and pussy?”
If this was not teasing, Joffrey didn't know what was. Gwayne was clearly asking to tease him more. How could Joffrey not feel good with his husband’s large hand grabbing his tits and pussy? Gwayne must know he was already on the verge of losing himself in pleasure, or else why would his nipple become so hard and his pussy so wet?
“You know it,” Joffrey murmured, thrusting his hip upward to meet Gwayne’s hand, “you know how to make me lose control.”
Gwayne’s lips curled up into a proud smile. Oh, yes, he knew. He had explored Joffrey’s body so many times before, so he knew exactly where to stimulate to make Joffrey fall harder into the abyss of pleasure. However, every time he touched Joffrey’s body, he would always find something new. For example, Joffrey’s right nipple was slightly larger than the left one, and more sensitive too, probably because he tended to breastfeed their son on this side. Today, Gwayne found that the small bush above Joffrey’s pussy felt softer and less dense than before. He pulled Joffrey’s pants down to observe it closely.
“Did you shave your pussy?” Gwayne asked, tracing his finger around the cute heart shape of Joffrey’s body hair. Just like his curls, Joffrey had dark and curly body hair, including private area, but now, the small bush had obviously been shaven and well cared, accentuating Joffrey’s fat pussy lips.
Joffrey blushed. He had almost forgotten about it. He didn't do it on purpose, per se, but the salesperson in the spa he frequented (recommended by Lucerys) was too persuasive. Joffrey hadn’t had proper sex with his husband for months now. They had neither the time nor the energy to properly fuck. A quick handy in the shower was all they could manage. Rationally, Joffrey knew the lack of sex was mostly due to taking care of a clingy four-year-old, but still, he worried. He was worried that he might not be as sexually appealing to his husband as before his pregnancy, so naturally, he fell for the sales talk.
Don’t you want look cute for your husband?
Of course he did.
“It’s part of the spa package.” Joffrey replied, leaving the ‘he had to pay extra’ part out, “Stop looking at me like that! I know it looks ridiculous and I regret it now, okay?”
Gwayne didn't answer. He got rid of Joffrey’s pants in one go, rougher than he normally would. Then, he lifted the omega’s legs before parting them and letting them wrapped around his neck. He bent Joffrey in half and covered the omega’s wet pussy with his mouth.
Joffrey moaned loudly as his eyes fall back. Gwayne sucked his pussy hard before nibbling the omega’s clit, rolling it between his teeth. His nose was buried in the cute bush above Joffrey’s pussy, where the omega’s scent was strongest.
Joffrey couldn’t help but squeeze his legs shut as an overwhelming wave of pleasure washed over him. He was so aroused and so sensitive, the slightest amount of stimuli was enough to push him over the edge. Joffrey didn't want to cum so fast. He wanted to prolong the pleasure, but Gwayne’s talented tongue had different opinions.
“Gwayne!” Joffrey hissed as he legs began to tremble, “I am going to- Please, please, PLEASE!”
Joffrey’s eyes rolled back into his skull as he came hard, his lower belly tightening and his pussy twitching inside Gwayne’s mouth. He curled his toes and grabbed a handful of bed sheets desperately for the pleasure was too overwhelming for him to stay sane. He felt like a shipwreck, drifting in the waves of pleasure.
“You taste so good, Joff.” Gwayne finally let go of Joffrey’s pussy, the alpha’s lips glistening with slick, “I can get drunk by your slick.”
Joffrey let his legs slide down Gwayne’s torso as he tried hard to catch his breath. He stuck his tongue out, and Gwayne took the hint and lowered his head to spit into Joffrey’s mouth.
“Can you taste yourself, Joffrey?”
“Y-yes.” Joffrey replied vaguely, too busy swallowing Gwayne’s spit.
Gwayne chuckled, brushing some sweaty curls from Joffrey’s face. He gave the omega an encouraging kiss on the lips before flipping Joffrey over, aligning himself against the omega’s spent entrance.
Joffrey whimpered as Gwayne pushed in. He was so wet that it didn't hurt at all to let Gwayne’s cock in. Joffrey could feel the heat from Gwayne’s cock inside him, as well as the alpha’s sweaty chest against his back. Joffrey chuckled under his breath.
“What is it?” Gwayne asked, kissing Joffrey’s scent gland.
“I think our earlier showers are for nothing after all.” Joffrey said, turning his head back to share a kiss with his husband, “We are all sweaty again.”
“We can take a bath together after I am done with you.” Gwayne replied, thrusting his hip forward to bury deeper into Joffrey.
“Post coital bath?” Joffrey curled his lips up, “Sounds great.”
Joffrey squeezed his pussy at Gwayne’s next thrust. The alpha grunted and bit down hard on Joffrey’s earlobe. The pain and the sensation of being filled to the brim made Joffrey shiver.
“Brat.” Gwayne murmured in Joffrey’s ear and the naughty omega a loud slap on the butt.
“Will you punish me,” Joffrey lowered his voice into a whisper, “daddy?”
That was it. Joffrey had crossed the line, and there would be no turning back. Gwayne grabbed Joffrey’s hip to force the omega’s butt up before thrusting into the naughty boy hard and fast. He slapped Joffrey’s butt according to the pace of his thrust, making the cute butt cheeks turn pink, like a blushing maiden.
“Does naughty boy like his punishment?” Gwayne asked, giving Joffrey’s butt another loud slap.
“Yes, yes! Thank you, daddy!” Joffrey shouted, shaking and twisting on the sheets, his face covered in tears and saliva.
Gwayne changed the thrusting angle, aiming at Joffrey’s good point. Joffrey’s entrance was stretched to the limit as Gwayne pushed his knot in as well.
“I am going to put another pup in you.” Gwayne said, panting, his usual calmness replaced by something harsh and unforgiving, “Make your belly swell with my seed.”
Gwayne wasn’t asking. He would fuck Joffrey into oblivion and knot him until tomorrow whether Joffrey agreed or not. It was rare for Gwayne to act so harshly, but Joffrey loved the alpha’s rare harshness. It always made Joffrey’s skin prickle with arousal whenever Gwayne let his true self show. Gwayne was not always the humble one. He could be just as ruthless as any young alpha. Joffrey was proud to be the only one who had the chance to see this side of him.
“Please, daddy.” Joffrey turned his head to meet Gwayne’s grey blue eyes, his own dark orbs glistening with desire.
“Good boy.” Gwayne picked up his pace again, his knot thrusting in and out of Joffrey’s entrance, causing the nasty water sound echo in the room.
Joffrey tried to take it all, but Gwayne’s thrusts were too fast and too hard. He found it harder and harder to keep his butt up, his lower back so sore that Joffrey felt like it was about to snap at any second. Joffrey could do nothing but moan and twist on the sheets, reduced into a mess of slick, saliva, sweat and tears.
Gwayne’s balls slapped against Joffrey’s butt every time he thrust in, the slapping of skin again skin so loud that it was able to wake the whole cabin. They were so carried away by their desire that neither of them remembered there was another person in the guest room.
“Mama?” A sleepy voice came from the bedroom entrance, “Why are you moaning? Are you hurt?”
“Fuck.” Joffrey was jolted out of his horniness the instant he heard his son’s voice, but it was too late to detach himself from Gwayne.
“Fuck.” Gwayne agreed, but he was quick enough to pull the sheets over their tangled body, saving them the last bit of grace.
“Mama?” Jo rubbed his eyes sleepily, still hugging his favorite plushie, a golden tailed dragon.
“Y-yes, mama is here.” Joffrey tried his best to not to swallow the moan, “What is it, my boy? Why are you up?”
Jo walked to the bed, still rubbing his eyes. Joffrey noticed the boy’s eyes were red and puffy, as if he had been crying.
“Did you have a nightmare?” Joffrey asked, lying on his stomach with Gwayne on top of him, the fluffy duvet over them both.
Jo nodded, a bit embarrassedly. He was the one who insisted on sleeping on his own, so it felt lame to run to his parents in the middle of the night. However, Jo couldn’t fall back to sleep after waking up from the monster under the bed nightmare.
“Can I sleep with you and papa?” Jo asked in a whisper.
Joffrey was relieved that the little boy was too sleepy to notice his surroundings. Joffrey would die of shame if his son found out about his parents having shameless daddy sex.
“Of-huh! Of course.” Joffrey bit his lower lip, throwing a dirty look at his husband as the alpha’s cock brushed against a particular sensitive spot.
“Go wash your face first.” Gwayne spoke, his voice deeper and rougher than intended.
Fortunately, Jo didn’t seem to notice, or care his papa’s hoarse voice. He went to the in-suite bathroom the master bedroom, leaving Joffrey and Gwayne on the bed with their private parts still connected.
“Pull out.” Joffrey hissed, letting Gwayne change their position. Now they were both lying on their sides, Gwayne’s chest pressed against Joffrey’s back.
“I can’t.” Gwayne whispered back, “I’ve already knotted you.”
“God.” Joffrey sighed helplessly. It would take at least 30 minutes for Gwayne’s knot to come down. They had to sleep on the same bed with their son while Gwayne’s cock still inside him.
Jo came back after a short while and climbed onto the bed. Thank God that he was used to sleeping on Joffrey’s side rather than between his parents. Joffrey had no idea how to explain to his son that he could not sleep between his parents because they were making him a sister or brother. Fuck. It was so embarrassing.
“Good night, mama.” Jo leaned in to kiss Joffrey’s nose, “There. I’ve kissed your hurt away.”
“Thank you, sweetie.” Joffrey chuckled, his heart swell with warmth, “Go back to sleep. Me and your papa will be right here.”
Jo nodded, his eyes already closing.
“I think we have traumatized our son.” Gwayne whispered after Jo fell asleep again.
“Don’t remind me.” Joffrey let his head fall back on Gwayne’s shoulder, “I can’t have sex again without remembering today.”
“Don’t worry,” Gwayne flattened his palm over Joffrey’s lower belly, “I will make you forget.”
Joffrey shivered as he felt Gwayne’s cock twitch inside of him.

What are your thoughts on Aemond and his supposed character arc based on what we've seen in the trailer? It seems like the screenwrites realized they made him too divergent from his book counterpart and now they want to fix that mistake. The arrogance and callousness (even to his own family) that he displays in those few scenes are more in line with book Aemond. He's overall vibes are that of a teenage school shooter. Aemondwives will be disappointed.
I already saw Aemond stans start to complain in TikTok. Yes, he's sliding into that bk!Aemond character, which...sure. Kinda "finally". Wish they included his "cunny" comment in episode 8 of s1 so it's even clearer and we could have just dealt with it as a fandom then, and then when this trailer came out, we'd say "told you so".
But they already tampered too much with the blacks' moral character to make them "equal" in amorality to the greens in the entire 1st season with:
Rhaenyra-Criston (I don't think Rhaenyra was the amoral one here, but it obviously was a way to make her comparable to Aegon's rape or bring her closer to that to "even" shit out....lame and antifeminist)
Daemon killing Rhea Royce (Daemon couldn't have killed Rhea)
Laena choosing to kill herself in a death that never actually existed (there is no "dragonrider's death" where a dragonrider would rather die as a dragonrider [flames, explosion, violent death]...these aren't Vikings, guys) instead of dying with her family around her (some people thought this was "selfish" of her, I don't but the writers unnecessarily opened that up while subjecting a PoC woman to a historic practice of "disposing" of women when their spouses die, being immolated)
Laenor choosing to leave his loving family to think he's dead (This one is more controversial or debatable. I don't think that it was evil of him, as my problem with this is more how the hell they'll explain Seasmoke bonding with Addam of Hull if Laenor's not dead. However, the issue the writers made with making Laenor live is that there is no another opened criticsm of the blacks' character from loud naysayers, which helps to really make them deflect from the greens' stronger sins in discussions. But I guess this is not too much of their problem. IDK)
I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember as of now.
We shall see regarding Aemond when the season premieres.

The Tragedy of Rhaenyra Targaryen
Tumblr media
Rhaenyra Targaryen's story is one of tragedy, she is put into a series of impossible situations and finally was killed for the crime of being a woman and wanting her birthright. This fact is something that TG stans are obsessed with trying to minimize or completely erase. Since they're usually exclusively show fans, I'm going to go through show Rhaenyra's life until we hit the end of season 1 (this is a long one so bear with me).
Rhaenyra spent her entire childhood being told she was less than for being a girl and her father killed her mother in pursuit of a son because of this belief. When Viserys finally recognizes her worth, she then has to deal with the misogynistic lords and their lack of respect towards her. Her ideas and opinions are dismissed in the SC, including Otto who fucking suggested making her heir, and they outright send her off like a child when she becomes too unruly for them.
Then after all this, Viserys marries her only friend, thus removing what's left of her support system after Daemon is banished. Alicent also went behind Rhaenyra's back to seduce Viserys. Sure, it was what her father told her, that doesn't mean it wasn't a shitty thing to do. Especially since she let Rhaenyra believe Viserys was going to marry Laena, thus causing her to be massively blindsided by the announcement. Of course Rhaenyra felt she couldn't trust Alicent, of course she felt betrayed, and Alicent never explained why she did it. This obviously drove a massive wedge in their friendship.
Things only get worse for Rhaenyra when Aegon is born. Now the lords who had no respect for her, including the fucking Hand, are clamoring for Rhaenyra to be disinherited. Sure, Viserys keeps her as heir, but does little to reinforce to HER that he isn't considering replacing her. He practically ignores her for the majority of episode 3 until he gets angry with her for not wanting to be his political pawn. Alicent isn't helping matters by never acknowledging the change in dynamic in their relationship, she's the queen consort now, a position she worked to get behind Rhaenyra's back. No things aren't the same, they never will be, Alicent acting like Rhaenyra should just treat her like normal is unrealistic and totally dismisses Rhaenyra's feelings.
Rhaenyra has a completely understandable fear of marriage and childbirth, considering what happened to her mother. Yet Viserys is insisting she marry, and sure, she can choose her own husband, but from her perspective that's basically being allowed to choose your own execution method. And there is also an underlying caveat: Viserys has to approve the match.
In the midst of all this, Daemon finally returns, the one person who completely understands Rhaenyra. He offers her the first scrap of true consideration and then expresses actual interest in her at the brothel. However, he leaves her in the brothel, so, drunk and alone, she stumbles into the arms of her only remaining friend. A man who willingly and eagerly slept with his drunk charge and thought that it entitled him to marrying her. After this, we see that caveat I mentioned come into play when Viserys rejects Daemon's proposal without consulting Rhaenyra, if he truly meant for it to be her choice, he would have let her have the final say.
So now her uncle is once again taken away, her former friend now hates her for not telling her a potentially damaging secret, and her former protector hates her for rejecting to run away with him. And to top it all off, she's now being forced to marry her openly gay cousin to fix the mistake Viserys made when he married Alicent. Then at her wedding, Alicent finishes of what's left of their friendship by declaring war on her and Criston kills Laenor's lover and allies with Alicent.
During the time jump, we know Alicent constantly undermined and abused Rhaenyra. She flouted her power at every turn, factionalized the nobles, taught her sons that Rhaenyra and her sons were beneath them, and shot down any of her opinions in the SC even to the detriment of the kingdom. We know from a deleted scene that Rhaenyra pursued a relationship with Aegon, yet she doesn't have any kind of connection to her siblings later on, meaning that someone must have put a stop to any bonding. After all, why would Aegon and his siblings be willing to usurp Rhaenyra if they had a good relationship? We also know from Laenor's "I thought we were past this" in ep six that Alicent constantly pressed the bastard issue even though Laenor, Corlys, and Viserys acknowledging them as legitimate made them so.
The issue of the Velaryon boys clearly shows how Rhaenyra was thrust into an impossible situation: she needed heirs and Laenor couldn't provide. By choosing Harwin, Rhaenyra was able to have three sons and have a loving relationship (as far as we know). But of course, this small happiness didn't last, as Harwin was sent away and murdered alongside his father by Larys. Before this, Alicent's abuse finally drives Rhaenyra to Dragonstone, by the way, Viserys never did anything to help Rhaenyra against Alicent.
Things finally seem to be looking up for Rhaenyra when she marries Daemon after Laena's funeral. She at last has a steadfast ally in the face of the greens and someone who genuinely loves her. She has two sons by him, her other children are growing up safe and happy alongside her stepdaughters who have integrated well into their new family.
Alas, after six years, she is dragged back into the greens' shit show when they decide to bring up the resolved matter of the Driftmark succession. This marks the beginning of the end for her happiness. Viserys dies and the greens usurp her crown, the news of which sends her into an early labor, killing her daughter. Now Rhaenyra is faced again with an impossible choice: go to war for her throne or bend the knee and risk being killed alongside her children (something the greens were already planning). We know which one she picks, and she's right in this: it's her throne, the greens are usurpers and traitors, end of story. But the greens then murder her son, Lucerys, when he was on a peaceful mission as a messenger.
Rhaenyra has now lost two children to the greens, and in the ensuing war, loses Viserys II (though he was alive unbeknownst to her), Jacaerys, and Joffery. Her stepdaughter, Baela, becomes a captive of the greens, Rhaena is being sheltered in the Vale, and her husband dies killing Aemond. The war takes away everything she loves except her son, Aegon III. She then has to flee KL after six months due to the rioting small folk and betrayal among her council (Corlys is a bitch). When she arrives on Dragonstone, she is seized by her brother's men and burned and eaten alive in front of her son by her usurper brother.
This is the story of a woman tormented throughout her life by the fact that she is a woman. She is undermined and abused as heir, usurped, and killed all for the crime of her gender, plain and simple. TG can try to deny it, but the story is clear, despite Condal and Hess' meddling. And if I see anyone saying that Rhaenyra is bad because she isn't a feminist, that doesn't matter (and that's not a true assessment), her reign sets a precedent for female inheritance in the Seven Kingdoms, that's still important in the long run. She is a tragic character, GRRM has made it clear the usurpation would have happened no matter what Rhaenyra did, she was doomed from the start.

Why did Rhaenyra ask Damon to elope with her, but didn't agree to run away with Criston? She was flirting with him all the time like she did with her uncle, lost her virginity to him like she almost did to Damon, and even wanted to keep seeing him in secret. If she liked him just as much as she liked her uncle, why didn't she take the same risk for him or at least try to reconciliate with him at all like she did with Damon several times?
You answered your own question, anon. If she liked Criston just as much as she liked Daemon, she'd have at least fought for him - but she didn't, because her feelings for him were NOT the same as the ones she had for her uncle.
She likes him, his looks, his fighting skills, and the non-terrible aspects of his personality, and was disappointed when he didn't want to continue their relationship - but she did not mourn the end of said relationship, meanwhile YEARS later she still regreted not marrying Daemon.
And her main reasons for having Daemon as her top choice are pretty clear.
When Criston asked her to run away with him to a different continent, he was asking her to abandon not only her chances of being queen, but also her life as a princess. Eloping with her uncle, the king's brother who was once considered a potential heir, to Dragonstone would at the very least allow her to continue enjoying the comfortable life royals are entitled to.
Criston is a strong, skilled fighter, (mostly) honorable knight, and has been in a war. But he was not a prince that crowned king after winning a war that his brother was avoiding like a coward, and did not have a dragon nor the charisma to raly people behind him a war against the king's orders. Considering Rhaenyra knows very well she might have to battle Aegon for the crown, what affair/relationship would be more benefitial to her? Is the same principle behind her having an affair with Harwin, but asking Daemon to help her fake Laenor's death so she'd be a "widow" and they could get married.
Even her first husband, Laenor, a very obviously gay man, was a smarter choice because he was half Velaryon, half Targaryen, his family had dragons, his mom was nearly queen, his dad is THE guy you go to for battles in the sea, and he had promised to have a few kids with her despite his sexuality, even though he didn't keep that promise (plus Viserys ordered that marriage and, again, she still asked Daemon to essentially kidnap her during the wedding).
Not to mention her clearly strong bond with Daemon that started before the show itself. They're constantly speaking High Valyrian with each other, something the writers themselves said was to highlight their deep connection, and she opened up to him about her traumas regarding her mom's life and death and anxieties it gave her about marriages and pregnancy. It's very possible Daemon was either her first love, or one of her first loves. Of course she's more attached to him than to Criston.
Even the very scene you mentioned, of her going to Criston to lose her virginity with him - that only happened after Daemon walked out her. And the next morning she's still mad about it. Criston is, at most, second best, while Daemon was the guy that actually taught her how to be confident and take what she wanted from a lover, even if they didn't go all the way with each other.
And let's not forget how she and Daemon first (almost) slept together. They were in a brothel, surrounded by people having basically an orgy. She let Daemon undress her, slam her against a wall and finger her in public. They also almost made out in front of everyone during her wedding to someone else. Rhaenyra also had bastards, and fucked Daemon for the first on his wife's funeral.
Meanwhile Criston Cole is all guilty and ashamed for not being a virgin despite his vows, and for deflowering the princess. He confessed his "crime" to Alicent in a panic. He murdered Laenor's lover just for saying they'd "keep each other's secret" (aka that they were both fucking a member of the newest royal couple). And he was about to commit suicide after it all before Alicent stopped him and basically gave him a royal pardon.
Criston very much believes that he is dishonoring himself and Rhaenyra for their affair, and sees marriage as a way to absolve them of their sins - and then Rhaenyra not only rejects that offer, but asks him to just keep having an affair with her, even after she's married to someone else.
She feels he is over-stepping and offering her a bad deal that requires her to sacrifice way too much for something she thought was just gonna be a fun thing - pleasure for pleasure's sake, separate from all the responsibilities and pressures, just like Daemon taught her - while Criston feels used and is disappointed in her lack of morals, and at the realization that he will NEVER be her first option, or an option at all.
They're not a good match at all.

Am I the only one wondering how the velaryons are still on team Black's side?
Like seriously, Rhaenyra and Daemon disrespect them at every given occasion, yet they still somehow want to support her claim.
Strike 1 was Rhaenyra cheating on their son and not being called out on it by anyone.
(She and Laenor have a deal and both cheat on each other, but his parents don't know that. For all they know their daughter in law has been disregarding her duty as his wife and claiming her bastards as Laenors.)
Which is already not great at all since that means the next lord of the tides won't be an actual Velaryon.
Despite everything though Corlys is willing to overlook that because "history remembers names, not blood." but that doesn't mean they are happy with this.
Strike 2 was everything that happened with poor Laena. Daemon prevented her from going back to Driftmark to be with her family and she died far from her parents and her beloved home, which is already horrible.
Then at her funeral their former son in law starts laughing. I honestly would have snapped at that point.
But that's not even the worst part! Because not long after her funeral, Rhaenyra and Daemon have their only remaining child murdered so they can get married.
(Once again, Laenor isn't actually dead, but his parents can't know that.)
So now, both of their kids are dead, indirectly or directly because of D*emyra.
And then they get married immediately! Their spouses have barely stopped burning and they are already tying the knot, without even pretending to be grieving for their losses or wait the required period of mourning like in the books.
And all of this is without even considering how Vaemond was brutally executed by Daemon for telling the truth about the strong boys's parentage, and calling them not his blood.
The velaryons have shown support for them on pultiple occasions and got shat on every. single. time.
Yet for some reason they still think Rhaenyra should be in charge.
In the end, even during the dance they still draw the short end of the stick.
Rhaenys is killed by Aegon and Aemond because, in spite of her strength and ability as a dragon rider, she can't beat two dragons by herself, and Rhaenyra basically sacrifices her by sending her all alone to help their allies.
Corlys is damn right for saying that with more reinforcements his wife would have lived.
Oh and then we have that whole mistery affair that Jace has with Sara. Obviously it's all speculation and rumors, but if it were true, that would just be the last blatant insult to house Velaryon. They deserved much better.

“Rhaenyra passing off her bastards as legitimate is wrong.” Okay should she abandon her own children to be openly dehumanised and mistreated to the extreme then ? “But she shouldn't have had them in the first place.” Why is Rhaenyra supposed to accept having her body and life policed ? “She is breaking the law.” Laws that treat women like chattel and natural children like subhumans are meant to be broken.
Funny thing about those saying Rhaenyra broke the law: there's no actual law about adultery in Westeros, even though it's considered a sin, especially by the Faith of the Seven of course. So those people are saying religion is the same thing as law. This doesn't mean it's not dangerous for a woman, that she can't be punished: we have examples in ASOIAF History. But there's no actual specific law about adultery. I checked once, it was about Cersei if I remember well. Even though the religion in King's Landing is the Faith of the Seven, Rhaenyra never followed it. So religion is definitely playing a role in the argument that Rhaenyra broke the law, shaming her and giving kudos to Alicent at the same time because she was a follower of the Faith.
They do blame Rhaenyra for having children with another man than her husband. They're even saying it's her fault if Jace, Luke and Joff could have been in danger instead of being the fault of the people saying they were bastards, that she's the one who put their lives in danger by having them in the first place. So, either they wanted her to force Laenor to keep having sex with her until they had children (because the rape of a gay man would have been less problematic... I'm gonna vomit), either they wanted her to not have sex at all. You know what? I think deep down, even if they blame her for having sex with Harwin, they also wish she didn't have the opportunity to have children if she didn't have sex with anyone, in the hope that Viserys would change his mind about Rhaenyra being his Heir. If she couldn't have children, everyone would have had another reason to tell the King to name another Heir, a reason he couldn't have ignored like the rumors of the legitimacy of her children.
They're still hell bent on the fact that Jace, Luke and Joff were bastards. She had to lie about their father to protect them and herself (they obviously don't realize or care about the danger they would have faced if Viserys, as King, had decided to give credit to what Alicent and others were saying), but she didn't lie when she said they weren't bastards. Their last name was Velaryon. King's Landing being the capital of the Crownlands, bastards from there have the last name Waters (like Gendry). It's really as simple as that: since Laenor recognized the three boys as his sons, they're not bastards.
