It's been exactly 30 years ago since Sonic the Hedgehog CD was released in Japan. And today, the game still stands as the best-selling Mega CD game.
P.S.: since the game takes place between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, then apparently Amy Rose and Metal Sonic chronological debuted before Sonic even met Tails.

Where have I been, and how on earth did I miss this freaking amazing version of "Boy With Luv"???? My goodness the guys all look ah-mazing, and Jiminie is full-on pouring every ounce he has into his swagger and presence.....and, the way he throws his arm around Jungkookie's neck? 🤧 Dang.... Now, how did I miss this until today?
Thanks YouTube, for slipping it into the algorithm! 😘
I'm digging the Japanese version. It really changes it up, and I love it. They did a great job with the language!
My favorite part of the choreo is the kick. It may remain my favorite part of any choreo they do together. I just cannot watch it enough.
Series where I discuss some Japanese translations of KH
In KH3 Riku acts kinda odd on the English version. Like he doesn't seem to encourage or be on his side as much. He throws in remarks that aren't fitting. Like it's not that he's just being a playful rival like they are, trying to one up each other...
He says this for instance at Yen Sid's tower:
Original: I'm counting on you
English: You better not let us down
It's not that much of a difference but still... It gives off a weird vibe.
When he gets new clothes,
Jpn: Good for you
Eng: Happy now?
Like what is that??
In the battle right before Riku's sacrifice, Riku tells him,
You don't believe in that as if to tell him he can't do that.
It's just a bit odd, but the original is better being,
I believe in you. You won't give up.
And that just feels more natural like he himself believes in him no matter how Sora's feeling. It's not him telling Sora that Sora is supposed to believe a certain way.
